An absolute gem of a place to relax and enjoy your holiday from. Clean, safe & tastefully decorated. Enjoy sounds of the ocean nearby for a calm & restful night's sleep. Conveniently located and within 10 -15 minutes drive to Beau Vallon & Victoria!

The space

This is a lovely large studio apartment situated in the north of the main island, Mahe. The apartment comes fully furnished with air condition. It has an open plan layout, with kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and shower room area and has a lovely veranda that looks out to the garden and across the road you can see glimpses of the sea through the coconut trees and greenery.

The apartment has sole use of the little garden in front. The open plan studio apartment is best suited for 2 people but it can sleep up to 4 people, with one double bed for 2 people to share and we place extra single folding beds to accommodate up to 2 extra people. Please note since it is an open plan space, we shift the furniture around to be able to place extra beds if there are 4 guests and therefore it would not give you much privacy if there are 4 people sharing.

The sea is just 30 seconds from the apartment and in this little corner you will find a gorgeous natural rock pool formation to soak your troubles away. Near Carana Beach and only 12 minutes drive to the popular Beau Vallon Beach, where you can enjoy the watersports, restaurants and tourist attractions, this apartment is ideal as your stopover to discover the beauty and culture of Seychelles.

There is a parking area for the apartment and also bus stops nearby with buses that pass by every 30 minutes to take you to town centre, Victoria or in the other direction to Beau Vallon. We can arrange your fishing and boat excursions. We know you will be very happy in our little part of paradise! :)

Guest access

Guest have the entire place just to themselves with private access to everything in the apartment.

Interaction with guests

We live nearby and are always happy to help with advice or anything that you need, you can just pop up to our place in a short walk. We will always be here to welcome you and show you to your apartment when you arrive and give you a little tour of everything. Interaction is based on a per guest basis, if you want to be left alone to enjoy your holiday, we respect that and if you want to get to know us more, we welcome that as well - it's really whatever makes you happy, we just access the apartment every 4 days to clean it and change the linen! :)

Thank you very much for the stay. Its an absolutely amazing island. The one room apartment is spacious and has all the amenities you need for a long and comfortable stay and for cooking your own food. There is a lady who cleans the place after 4 days. It is highly recommended to use a car and it is byfar the best way to move around the island in general. There are dozens of great beaches on the island. Our favorites were Anse Takamaka, Anse Intendance and Beau Vallon (where you also can get a great meal of fresh tuna or snapper for 5-10 euro). The apartment is situated very near the ocean on a small residential area. You can swim if you want, but there are some cliffs and rocks. I´d suggest going to Carana Beach (15 min walk to the right) or Beau Vallon (10 min car ride to the left). The balcony/terasse is great for a morning coffee or evening rum, and it has a ocean view and when the ocean is in motion you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Gene and Philippe are great hosts and was there for us if we needed anything. They offered us some foods and fruits, which we really appreciate =) thx. There is no internet included in the price of the apartment, and it´s quite costly. I dont know the reason, but hopefully in the near future guests will have this available. The whole island of Mahe is incredible when it comes to activities and places to visit. From the apartment you can reach Beau Vallon and the west coast (which we found was most interesting) quite easy. Victoria is a 20 min ride away. All in all a great place and great accommodation.

We booked quite late so we only had the chance to stay two nights in the ocean view Appartement - which is really stunning! The view from the terrace with your morning coffee is simply the best way to start your day off on mahé! Gene was very helpful with lots of tips and 100% service oriented! We would come back immediately!

Gene and her partner were the kindest and warmest hosts, you can imagine. They even provided us with some food as we arrived, so we did not have to go to the supermarket right away. The apartment was cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. If you have a car available in Seychelles we would highly recommend Gene’s place:)

I stayed recently in Gene's place for 4 nights. I loved the studio. It was cute and cozy. When I arrived Gene gave me mobile telephone with the local number which I could use while in Seychelles. This was a very special touch and very helpful. There was also a welcome food (bread, milk, water and fruits from Gene's garden) in the fridge which I did not expect. This was a very special pleasant surprise. The studio was very clean. I loved the patio surrounded by garden where I had my breakfast. The place was peaceful and quiet. I felt very comfortable and safe there. I would love to stay in Gene's place again when I am back for my next vacation to Seychelles. I would also recommend it to other people.

Gene was a wonderful host. The house is just as described and the location is nice. I only wish it was closer to the beach. But a ride on the bus will take you to Beau Vallon beach for only 5 rupees.

A home away from home! It was a perfect start for us as the directions to the house from the airport was given to the 'T' by Gene with proper landmarks that one couln't wrong at all. The apartment is exactly maintained the way shown in the pictures. The refrigirator was loaded with bottled water, bread, eggs and butter. The kitchen is well-equipped with all kinds of utensils, a pressure cooker etc. to even a small rice cooker and chopper, very useful for us with a three year old girl in tow. The room opens to a garden where you can relax and a few steps out leads to the main road and then an almost personal beach :-). Our stay here was pleasant and was a perfect start to our lovely holiday. A thumbs up from us!!!

I'm an easy going mother of 4 with endless patience and the truth is I just love to make people happy as it makes me happy, I'm the eternal feel good type, seeking the positive out of adversity - I guess it takes from the survival mechanism to keep on going no matter what with a smile on my face. I define myself by the little things in life which offers me a sense of appreciation for being alive in this mind boggling journey of what it is to exist. I Love: kindness / I Hate: Being fooled . I'm an avid reader and any enjoy being transported to another world through the limitless potential of a good story which I find innocently allows me to live vicariously through others imagination. Now retired, I was a horticulturalist by trade and organic farmer at heart and can still find most solutions to my problems by getting my hands dirty in soil and taking great pleasure in nurturing my plants. My bad points: I do not eat to live but rather live to eat, cheese and I are a match made in heaven though my hips would disagree and I just love cooking! My motto: You never know what is around the corner, so enjoy it while you can and never leave happy till later, do it now!
