We had a magical stay. The cottage was so beautiful and impeccable. The view of the mountains were magnificent. Attention to detail and personal touches were very evident. Even out towels were tied in lovely Christmas ribbon! The farm was very fun to walk around. Peaches were in full season so the trees were full of fruit. Lovely lovely place.

The cottage was very comfortable and the location very special. We did not meet the host since it was easter weekend but we were well looked after by Bongani. The cottage has an inside as well as an outside fireplace which we really liked since you could barbeque in all weather conditions. The inside braai area also creates a lovely atmosphere on a cold, rainy day. We were pleased to find a perfectly clean braai grid which meant that we did not need to unpack our own.

We had a fantastic three nights at Merlot Cottage with our two boys. Cottage was spotlessly clean, super comfortable and had everything we needed - even monopoly for that proper game we've been meaning to play! Walks and rides on our bikes through the vineyards and orchards were great fun too. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We really enjoyed the stay at Merlot cottage. It is beautifully set up, everything is tastefully put together ,very well equipped, with a beautifully tended garden, and in a nice scenic area. It was comfortable in every way. Some of the nice touches were things you would expect to find in a luxury hotel. We also enjoyed having visits from Trompie, a very cute Jack Russell who belongs to the estate. The retreat was exactly what we were hoping for and was a wonderful , relaxing getaway.

Response from Jacqui:
Thank you for the nice review and feedback, Adam. It is a pity about the noise from the workers, I dont think it was ours as I didnt hear them, but it is a pity you didnt let me know as I could have tried to put a stop to it. I had been thinking about getting coffee plungers for the cottages, now I definately will!

We were made to feel very welcome and the cottage was perfect for what we were looking for. Clean, spacious and lovely scenery. We felt very safe and loved being 'away from it all'. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would love to return one day - maybe in the winter when there is snow on the mountains. Thank you for a very lovely stay!

What a fabulous cosy cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage had everything one could need as a home away from home. We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine in the fridge and a stack of home grown peaches. Having been traveling for a week without being able to do any washing was not a problem as there was someone who did all our washing and ironing for a very reasonable charge. All in all we had a splendid time and would gladly recommend merlot cottage to any traveler who is looking for a serene getaway with their family.
