Designed by Ryan Kennihan Architects, this "tented room" draws inspiration from Ottomon campaign tents. Its simple structure belies a tactile and luxurious inner bedroom.

The space

Ryan Kennihan has drawn on contacts with makers and suppliers across Ireland to create this space. The timber structure was assembled by specialist timber joiners, O’Malley Timber in Loughrea and the luxurious red textile is an archive design woven by Mourne Textiles in Co Down.

Ryan Kennihan Architects were the Best Emerging Practice of the Year at the Irish Architecture Awards 2011 and have received awards from the Architectural Association of Ireland. The practice has also been selected to represent Ireland at the Chicago Biennale in Autumn 2015.

Trailer Park At Electric Picnic User Profile

Fancy staying smack-bang in the middle of all the action at Electric Picnic? Want a cool place to sleep which doubles as your home for the weekend and an art installation? How about on top of that, you get a special access wristband, taking you behind the scenes to places the public don't usually see?

A new boutique accommodation option at Electric Picnic sees eight custom-designed bespoke pods designed by some of Ireland’s leading architects available to rent for the weekend in the Trailer Park arena. For current ticket-holders, these luxury pods are now open for bookings.

Located in the Trailer Park arena, each pod sleeps two people for the full weekend of Electric Picnic (Friday – Monday morning). An exercise in adventure and contemporary luxury, they come quipped with a bed, bedding, fluffy pillows and a power source with access to exclusive showers, water and toilets. An on-site manager will take care of pod-booker's needs to ensure your stay is stress free.

As the festival gets underway each day, the art pods are open to view by the public between 3pm and 5pm. Bookers can hang out and introduce their pods to passers by or avail of a secure lock-up for their belongings.

On arrival at Electric Picnic, a dedicated contact person will show bookers to their pods from their arrival gate (details on this will be given to bookers post-purchase) and be on-call for the weekend to ensure a comfortable, stress-free experience. After 1am, the pods become a quiet zone, ensuring bookers can party as late as they like and return to a chilled-out, quiet homestay.

Note – pods are only available to book by people already in possession of Electric Picnic tickets. The festival is sold out. Rental of a pod does not include access to the festival. Each person staying in each pod must have a valid ticket for Electric Picnic.
