This NW Reno eclectic site is ideally located just minutes from UNR, the city-center, downtown nightlife, midtown restaurants and cultural center, the Truckee River's recreational district, and SanRafael Prk. It is basement apt of larger Airbnb home.
This apartment is on the lower level of a larger Airbnb home. Even when the upstairs is occupied, those guests do not interfere with this apartment. Entrance and walkway are private. Backyard and patio are for apartment guests. Apt is beneath carpeted bedrooms of main house so noise level is minimal. There is only one bedroom and one bed so the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated are 2 adults and 2 children under 12. There is parking for 1 vehicle. The patio and yard are repeatedly noted as the gems of the home that allow guests to relax and enjoy their stay.
Guests have exclusive access to the apartment which includes fully stocked kitchen, nicely furnished front room, dining room, bathroom (remodel is on wish list) and large bedroom with good size closet and queen bed. Washer and dryer are also in the apartment.
Interaction with guests
I intend to briefly meet and greet each guest and personally give a brief orientation to the apartment and property. If I am not available a guest host will do the same. I will communicate via email additional information pertinent for each visit.
Other things to note
I try to have materials on Reno/Sparks events in the apartment. I also provide a brief description of near-by stores/businesses and conveniences.
Respect the home and the family-oriented neighborhood. No illegal activities of any kind, including downloading. No smoking. Please do not have guests other than those noted when booking is confirmed unless approved in advance by Carol.
Hi, my name is Carol and this private turn-key studio is in my home. I have lived in this NW Reno neighborhood for almost 40 years; a great community to raise a family in - so close to so much. My hope is that many travelers (domestic and international) will have their Reno visit enriched by a "stay" in my newest airbnb site . I first learned of Airbnb in the summer of 2014. OMG - someone has created a business based on staying with the locals - exactly as I had been able to do during my travels to England, Russia, the Ukraine and Italy. In fact, my fondest memories of those trips are the connections that occurred as I learned about the people, the history, and communities “first hand” - from those who lived there. It was an ominous moment when I realized thats how I want to spend my retirement (from education) - connecting with travelers that are guests in my home(s). This studio, which I fondly call my Montana Cabana, is a tribute to my upbringing in the beautiful state of Montana. In the summer of 2015 I took my parents to their final resting place in my dad's home town and reconnected with my Montana heritage. The studio is a tribute to that heritage and a very special vacation taken with children, grandchildren and close friends. My ideal of travel is to "share the experience with people you treasure".
