We host following the NM Public Health Order. Please be aware that everyone, regardless of their vaccination status, must wear a mask in public indoor spaces. This requirement is in effect at least through Dec 10, 2021. We are both fully vaccinated and hope you will be too before you venture forth on travel!

The space
Nestled in the pines, our guesthouse is located in a semi-rural area 11 miles from the Santa Fe Plaza (20-minute drive). A private & peaceful retreat, large windows view surrounding trees & mountains, while at night you can gaze at the stars from the comfort of the bed. Clean, airy, and bright with modern amenities and attention to detail. Situated on 10 acres, the property is located off a mile of dirt road. The nightly rate includes all costs with the exception of the required NM Occupancy Tax and Airbnb's service fee.

The guesthouse is a two-story, 900-square-foot structure. Upstairs there is a queen-size bed, walk-in closet (where the iron & ironing board are located), and balcony. While relaxing on the balcony glider chairs, you can listen for birdsong and coyote calls.

The spiral staircase leads you downstairs to pleasant living and dining areas, kitchen, work desk, and bathroom with a Raindance shower system (amenities in the bathroom include: soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer). A small deck with table and chairs provides a tranquil space for outdoor dining.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a frost-free refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 2-burner cooktop (please note that there is no oven, but there is an outdoor gas grill), blender, electric kettle, drip coffee maker, and Nespresso Citiz coffee machine.

The style of the furnishings is contemporary and comfortable. While our guesthouse does not have a TV and no cell phone reception, you won't be completely disconnected from the world. The provided WiFi allows you to get online to check your e-mail, social media, and stream movies on your laptop; with a wifi-enabled cell phone, you can make/receive calls. There is also a phone and answering machine so that you can make local calls and others can reach you by landline.

The guesthouse has a Daikin mini split air conditioning system and gas heating.

Downtown Santa Fe is just a 20-min drive away where you can enjoy New Mexico's unique blend of Native American, Hispanic and Anglo cultures. For art lovers, Santa Fe boasts more than 200 galleries and more than a dozen museums. Annual festivals include the International Folk Art Market, Indian and Spanish Markets, Wine & Chile Fiesta, and Zozobra. For those seeking a bit of pampering, Ten Thousand Waves and Ojo Santa Fe are two well-known spas. For outdoor enthusiasts, mountain biking, walking, hiking, and skiing are nearby. And if you prefer to just take it easy, you can relax on the upstairs balcony or downstairs deck or walk through nearby ravines and enjoy the beauty of the land.

Where you’ll be

Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States

Our little neighborhood is located adjacent to Cañada de Los Alamos (not to be confused with the town of Los Alamos, which is an hour's drive away). The area is semi-rural, hilly, and quiet. There is no public transportation available, so a vehicle is a necessity for getting into town.

We have lived in Santa Fe since 2002 and cherish the climate and beauty of New Mexico. I am originally from Northern Virginia, while my husband is from Basel, Switzerland. We enjoy hiking, cycling, reading, traveling, watching the occasional movie, and endless household projects.
