The Art Deco apartment is very central to Burnie CBD, and decor is a bit of fun. The large bath was fabulous. Communication was excellent. Walking distance to the Gallery, Museum, and the Penguin Observation Deck which was a highlight of our stay. Off street parking was also hand…
A great place to stay and be car free for a day or so. Everything you need is in walking distance and the noise factor is very minimal. You may need to bring a few utensils if you intend to self cater. Would recommend this property to other travellers
The Art Deco aspect of our ground-floor apartment was really lovely. However, seeing a live cockroach on the plates in the cupboard was off-putting. As well, we had to ask for a burnt out light bulb to be replaced, which to me indicates poor maintenance. The bulb was not rep…
Response from Bridget:
To say Im shocked by the review I read above from Valerie would be an understatement as we chatted several times during her & partner's stay. And while every good story has an element of truth to it, so does a good fib; its true the apartment is lovely, in my 2 and 1/2 months the only insect I have seen inside an apartment was a cricket and certainly not in a cupboard. The light bulb for the lamp (a main light being also available) was replaced the next morning during regular services (as this is a serviced apartment property -unless requested by guests to not). Recycling and rubbish are often removed during services as required and should a mistake have been made over a bag of recyclable materials being removed then for this I apologise for that alone. The apartment does have a spot of dust in fact it can be located on the light shade (on my list of things to do as all else in the apartment was recently spring cleaned (including picture rails, bath sealant, kitchen walls, ceilings, oven and surfaces of wall mounted dryer washed as an example) The floorboards are washed after every guest stay and the floor rugs vacuumed and for those who love to stay longer the floors are also done during full services once a week (as this is one of our few floorboard apartments - see pictures). Amenities are as listed (toiletries, full sized kitchen with cooking equipment, hair dryer, washer and dryer/clothes line etc and if you read our listing it does not include wifi. The apartment is in the city and the best views can be found sitting in the cottage styled courtyard, were a spider or two might live but so too does the visiting bird life.
We stayed two nights in Apartment 6 – a nice large 2 bedroom apartment with cute Art Deco styling. The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer which were handy, and a separate lounge room with sofa, armchair and dining table. It was great to have such a bi…
