This cabin is our largest cabin; the Horseshoe Cabin at Granite Creek Ranch. It is a remodeled 2 room cabin. This cabin sleeps up to 9 people comfortably. 2 queen, 1 double, and 3 twin beds. 1 bathroom with hot water and shower. It is 1 hour 15 min from Grand Tetons NP, 2 hrs 15 min from Yellowstone NP. Only minutes from the famous South Fork of the Snake River. Plenty of room to park your boats, and a self-serve breakfast to get you on the river as soon as possible!

The space
This cabin is one of 4 cabins at Granite Creek Ranch. Granite Creek is a 5th generation cattle ranch in the scenic mountains of Eastern Idaho. Originally homesteaded in the early 1900's, Granite Creek now consists of thousands of acres. Natural springs feed each of our cabins and ranch house with water by gravity flow.

The cabin sleeps up to 9 people. We have a couple of cots that can be put in the cabin for a few extra people if needed. There is a small fridge in the cabin to keep beverages or food items cold during your stay. There is some room in our community fridges as well. Private bathroom and shower with hot water.

*Extra blankets are in the drawers of the dressers, and electric heaters are in each room as well.

Guest access
We provide all guests a simple self-serve breakfast in our ranch kitchenette. The kitchenette and dining are are shared between the four cabins. There are bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, milk, cereals, juice, yogurt, coffee and tea. We have a coffee pot, microwave, fridges, toaster and hot burner. Each cabin also has a small fridge for personal food items. You may use the fridges in the kitchenette to store additional food items.

*Guests have access to the property where they can enjoy hiking or mountain biking on 4,000 acres of private land and fishing on our 5 acre Granite Lake. We have picnic tables, an outdoor fireplace, and a grill that guests are welcome to use.

Guided horse rides are available at an additional cost of $35/hr/person. Children under 7 years old can be given a hand-led horseride at $30/half hour.

We have the hot dog roasters in the kitchenette for use any time.

List of amenities guests have access to:

Hiking, biking on ranch roads and trails
Canoes and fishing in the lake (no fishing poles are provided)
Large outdoor fireplace area with benches
Outdoor grill and griddle
Picnic area with tables and chairs
Kitchenette with fridges, microwave, hot plates, toaster oven and coffee pot.

Other things to note
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING.

*At times we may have cattle in the corral for doctoring sick cattle or when we drive them from pasture to pasture. The ranch horses are usually hanging around the corrals most days. The cabins are close to the barn and corrals so those with animal allergies need to be prepared beforehand.

*We have a NO PETS POLICY. We have ranch dogs and cats on the premises but they are NOT allowed in the buildings including the cabins and the kitchenette.

*Verizon cellular phone service works best on the ranch. Other carriers work within a few miles. **Grocery stores are 35 miles away**. Be prepared for this. We have some basic kitchen items to prepare food: pots and pans, cutlery, cutting boards and grill utensils.

*There are no laundry facilities on-site.

*Please pay VERY close attention to the directions to our location, and call if you have any questions.

Granite Creek is very peaceful and secluded area. People often say it feels like going back in the past where time moved a little slower. The immediate area of Swan Valley and Palisades Reservoir are very beautiful for sight seeing. There is a waterfall a few miles from the ranch called Fall Creek. The South Fork of the Snake River runs very close to the ranch for easy access to world famous fly fishing. There is plenty of room at the ranch to park some drift boats and other trailers.

I'm owner and manager of Granite Creek Ranch, a 4th generation cattle ranch where I also grow alfalfa, barley and wheat. I love being able to work outdoors and I enjoy creating a place where others can also come and enjoy the scenery, peacefulness and mountain fresh air. I like learning about different cultures and history as well as learning new skills and ways of doing things.

During your stay
*We try very hard to be there to greet you and show you around. Your cabin is to the right of the red and white ranch house and has the cabin name hanging outside of it. If no one is available to meet you, please feel free to get settled in your cabin. The kitchenette is to the left of the ranch house and is open 24 hours a day for your use. We are a working cattle ranch so our family or a few ranch workers will be 'around the ranch' at all times; either tending to cattle, fixing fence or other ranch duties. We would like to spend time visiting with you and sharing our ranch, however at times we are very busy with our ranch work. There is a folder in each cabin with our ranch history, and 'things to know". We are always available by messaging if you have any questions.
