This fully self contained guest bungalow overlooks fields of cane and is the ideal place to use as a base to explore the world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge and Port Douglas.

The space

Situated on 2 acres of manicured lawns and native gardens overlooking cane fields, surrounding rainforest and mountain ranges this unique home is made up of two bungalows. Both bungalows have french doors opening to wrap around verandas to make the most of the cool valley breezes. The hosts occupy the main bungalow and the guest bungalow is totally self contained, very private and for your use only. With spacious open plan kitchen, living and bedroom area with its own bathroom/toilet the guest bungalow is furnished for your comfort. It comes equipped with clean fresh sun dried linen, bath towels, pool towels and toiletries, your own fridge, microwave, coffee maker, portable electric cook top, electric fry pan, pots & pans, crockery & utensils, salad bowls, toaster, kettle, grill/barbeque, TV, DVD, micro music system and unlimited internet. Only a short stroll across the cane fields is a crystal clear pristine waterhole where you can take a refreshing swim on those hot balmy days.

Several beautiful natural swimming holes close by to cool off in.

Highly recommend the place. It's like glamping in the middle of the rainforest. 20 mins from the town of port Douglas and 5 from mossman gorge. Mick and Lisa were super helpful in everything. The place is clean and cozy. You have the whole cabin to yourself

The bungalow was really great to stay in, very clean and extremely well equipped. Everything you might need has been thought of and is available to use. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, they really made us feel welcome. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely book to stay here again!

Mick and Lisa were friendly and welcoming, the space is close to the main house but still feels private. We had praying mantis' and small tree frogs joining us, had a nice time laying in the sun and using board games provided. Beautiful view of the sugar cane fields, lush and foresty feel.

Cosy home! A bit out of the way but actually very convenient for the Daintree/Cape Tribulation as well as Port Douglas

Brilliant little country bungalow, rustic and simple but with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast basket with pancake batter, yogurt, muesli etc was a great touch. Quiet and scenic environment, but a short drive to the Mossman Gorge; large, well-stocked Woolworths also close at hand. Despite our late arrival Mick was waiting for us in the driveway, guiding us through with a torch like a plane arriving at its gate. Unfortunately we were off first thing in the morning so didn’t have a chance to get to chat, but if we’re ever back in the area we’ll mal a beeline here.

It was a wonderful place. We stayed two nights but obviously it was not enough. Mick&Lisa were easygoing, passionate and thoughtful. We loved this peaceful experience and would like to come back again.
