Enjoy a cosy night's sleep and delicious breakfast made with our home grown produce. If you're lucky and the hens have been laying you may even get one of our famous Os Figueiros omelets! After lounge in a hammock or go for a swim.

The space

Bed and breakfast in a beautiful and unusual "bastide" farmhouse in the Segala region of the Tarn, south-west France (60 miles from Toulouse).

You are guaranteed a peaceful and genuinely rustic stay at Os Figueiros in one of the most picturesque parts of France. Our rooms are furnished in a country-style with wooden floors, antique furniture, cosy beds and full bookshelves. Step out of your room on to the rose and vine-strewn balcony and look out over our ancient courtyard where you can feast on local and homegrown produce around our farmhouse table, or take a picnic into the gardens. Afterwards have a swing in a hammock under the fig trees.

Guest access

Go on a journey back in time and discover our ancient buildings. The beautiful vaulted barn, where you are welcome to practice meditation, dance or just play. Find the Dovecote for a peep out of the window to spot someone at work in the open barn, or take a stroll out into the meadow where wild flowers grow alongside our vegetables.

This is a very special building in a very special part of the world. It won't be to everyone's taste, but it certainly was to ours. And Dave is a warm, welcoming and hugely considerate host. The building oozes character from every stone, and Dave is slowly restoring it from former dilapidation. If high-tech, up-to-the-moment facilities are your thing, perhaps Os Figueiros isn't for you. And if sharing living space with your host is a worry, you might possibly hesitate before booking. You would, though, miss a magical place whose pace of life becomes more and more beguiling the longer you stay. Initially, we were maybe a little distant from the way of life of the old farmhouse, but we left feeling as though - if only fleetingly - we'd become part of the fabric of the place. Lovely breakfasts, too. Plus delightful cats, frogs - and even a glowworm in the courtyard! And the invitation to share the garden, the barn, the kitchen, the tea, the fruit, the sun, the shade - all so genuine and so very much appreciated.

We fell in love with the place from the pictures on the listing, and we weren't disappointed! A gorgeous rural wonderland, we enjoyed sitting in the flower strewn courtyard, and relaxing in the hammocks. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The whole place has a lot of charm. David and his daughter Chloe, were both peaceful souls, and we felt welcome to make ourselves at home. The surrounding countryside and river walk close by were also wonderful places to unwind. Thank you David for sharing your wonderful home with us!

It was a very relaxing setting lost in the beautiful hills of the Tarn region. In the morning you awake to the sounds of birds, the hum of myriad insects, and the distant crow of a rooster. There are hammocks in the garden upon which you can relax and appreciate your surroundings. Dave is a nice, amenable, and very warm host. You enjoy your stay at your own rhythm choosing to mingle or not, either way your privacy is respected. It was an overall pleasant experience which I highly recommend.

David and his home is in a beautiful traditional hamlet tucked away in a lovely landscape. David was incredibly welcoming and I would really recommend a stay here. The accommodation has been beautifully restored with a lovely rustic quality and being able to cook breakfast with produce from the garden was a real treat. The surrounding landscape and villages were wonderful to explore by car, coming home in the evening to a crackling fire really made our day. The peaceful locations and beautiful beamed bedrooms were perfect. Thanks so much David and we hope to visit your place sometime soon again!

I love being in nature, gardening, building and restoring where i live . In the spring and summer i enjoy swimming in the nearby river, working outside, lazing around and relaxing in my courtyard with friends under the stars. I am very easy going and open to new experiences and people and try not to take myself too seriously. I am interested in alternative lifestyles and ways of being, have had lots of adventures and worked as a cranial osteopath for 25 years..
