The Pottery Shed is a delightful self-catering studio that is ideal for overnight stops in the area, a weekend get away for hiking and biking, and longer-term stays for professionals on short-term contracts. We are located at the base of the Ashford Hangers National Nature Reserve. The location offers excellent hiking and walking, cycling and direct one hour train journey to London Waterloo.

This studio is newly equipped with cooker, washer and refridgerator, as well as full kitchen, bedding, plus extras to make it feel like home. There is a separate bath with shower and hallway entry with lots of space for coats, boots, etc. It is located in an exceptionally well built modern house, so is particularly warm and bright - nice on wet cold weather days.

The studio flat has a separate entrance with key. There is also a private drive and easy taxi service from the train station.

The hosts are two writers and therefore home most of the time, and very happy to help make the stay as pleasant as possible. We're happy to provide any information on the area, and help brainstorm if you want to knock on the door.

We sit at the base of the Ashford Hangers National Nature Reserve, part of the South Down National Park. There are stunning walks through ancient forest, clear water streams and deep escarpments. In addition, this fantastic bicycling country - both on road and off-road. The South Downs sit 8 miles away with spectacular views, as well Hayling and other ocean islands including the Isle of Wight. The historic market town of Petersfield is 1.5 miles away (5 minutes by car) with plenty of stores and restaurants. Meanwhile, for a night out, London is one hour direct up the track - get on the train and off at Waterloo Station on the South Bank.

We are 1.5 miles from Petersfield, a nice walk down a wooded path or a zoom down the hill on a bike. We also have a private drive. 4 mins to train station.

This studio is exceptionally positioned from stunning walks outside the door - the poet Edward Thomas country - right off the Hangers Way which joins the South Downs (URL HIDDEN) Down the road is the historic Harrow Pub (URL HIDDEN) and at the other end The Cricketers Inn. We are also positioned 200 yards from the stunning Bedales School campus which offers regular Drama, Music, Art, and Speakers events.

Although our stay at the Pottery Shed was short, it was a very pleasant one. Debora was so lovely and welcoming, and check-in was easy and straightforward. The Pottery Shed was so cosy and had all the amenities we needed. There's some lovely art dotted around, too. The wifi worked perfectly. There was a selection of books about the local area and also some boards games, which we made good use of! There was nothing we would have changed about our stay, and if ever were ever in the area again, we would love to stay again. The area is beautiful and I wish we'd had a chance to explore some more. I highly recommend this Airbnb.

Debora is an ideal host. She has put together a nice, cozy space that could accommodate multiple guests and is well supplied with household and laundry items. Debora is very warm and friendly and goes out of her way to help guests get settled. At arrival, she provided me with maps to help me get around town easily. The location is also perfect - very close to a waterfall, national park, and a beautiful walking path into town - I saw lots of animals and birds along the way. I highly recommend staying at Debora's!

A great little apartment ! Debora pulled out all the stops as a host - there were chocolate treats, strawberries, croissants, juice etc. etc. there for us. She has a great little selection of games to keep you entertained. The countryside around there is also lovely - a great place to a have a walk. Would definitely recommend this place to other travellers.

This is a charming, comfortable, quirky place which is extremely well equipped and Debora was absolutely brilliant. I had a slightly unusual request which had been ignored by other Airb&b hosts but was accepted by Debora and enthusiastically brought to fruition. Thank you Debora, it was a wonderful stay. xx

Debora is such an amazing host. She really made the effort when we were there. She even backed us chocolate chip cookies which was so sweet. She was very relaxed and was happy to help with any requests. Would definitely recommend. This is how an air b and b should be done. Thanks so much

My husband and I are both writers (of books and articles) and you are as likely to hear from one of us as the other. We have two older children and have always been a family that plays together. Thomas is British, I am American so we have lived both in the US, in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia 60 miles outside of Washington DC, and now in the South Downs National Park in Hampshire - 60 miles from London.

An evening is not complete without a great conversation and our friends. Being an hour away from London, we like to take advantage of what the City has to offer in terms of theatre and art exhibitions.

We are avid walkers, and nature enthusiasts as well as culture lovers. We seek out National Parks wherever we go for lifestyle as well as vacation.

We're very easy, come with British manners, American friendliness, but our own style of warmth.
