Thora cancelled today our reservation less than 24 hours prior to our arrival because we had 2 additional travelers join our trip to Iceland. We offered to accommodate them in a separate location but Thora refused our entire group. Airbnb gave us a refund and additional 10% bac…

Response from Þóra:
I am one of the few in Reykavik who is actually licensed so my guests can feel safe at my house - which happens to be my home as well. So when someone books it for 10 people + an infant and then adds 2 adult guests without letting me know I´m not very happy. The thing is that I´ve been hosting now for over two years and I´ve seen a lot. Most of my guests are fantastic but a few have been really unpleasant characters. The main thing that they have in common is dishonesty so when I dragged the information out of Patrick I instantly got suspicious. He obviously had no intention of letting me know about the extra guests - totally ignoring the fact that even though he´s renting my house it is still my property and responsibility and I´m only licensed for 10 people and my house literally can´t fit 13 guests. Now Patrick was upset and I can understand that. I might add that I lost over 4000 dollars in income but I do follow the rules and so should Patrick.
