The space
At the entrance it has a spacious lounge and kitchen as well as the access to the kids room (with 2 single beds and the ceiling has a height of 1.60m approximately).
In the interior area of the loft there’s a double bed at the mezzanine, two single beds downstairs, a toilet with shower, a laundry room and a double sofa bed at the second lounge.
Bedrooms have no windows.
Internet (Wi-Fi) and cable TV are provided.
The excellent location (despite being a quiet street) allows easy access on foot or by transport to the main points of interest of the city.

Lisbon, Portugal

South facing and with a unique view of the Tagus River, the Alfama district is one of the most typical of Lisbon. This is one of the essential tourist destinations when it comes to know better the city. With an area which extends from Saint Jorge Castle to Jardim do Tabaco dock, it allows the visitor to venture through its streets, winding alleys and exciting staircases.
Its narrow streets, enriched by genuine details such as clotheslines, the planters, the neighbour’s shout, the rush of children, illustrate in a very personal way what is really an authentic neighbourhood, going well beyond Fado and grilled sardines. To visit Alfama is to visit the architecture, the sounds and the smells of old Lisbon. The neighbourhood is especially known for its restaurants and fado houses, as well as the Popular Saints festival (Santos Populares), especially on the night of St. Anthony, from 12 to 13 of June. During this night, its streets are full of people and the whole neighbourhood has the scent of grilled sardines, from its taverns and restaurants, mixed with the shouts (pregões) and the smell of baby basil (manjericos).
In Alfama, you can still see Roman and Arabic traces, two of the most dominant civilizations in Lisbon’s past. The narrow streets resulting from the Muslim culture are guided by individualistic rules where public spaces are not important. These streets are a mark of the Koran, where little value is given to the facades over the interior of the houses, which is much more valued.
Alfama was once home to the unlucky, delinquents or ungrateful and due to its proximity to the sea was also home to many sailors.
Rebuilt by the local population after the 1755 earthquake, Alfama was at risk of being demolished, which fortunately did not happen since this area of the city was considered a living history book, where the past mingles with the present.
In its narrow winding streets you will find the hidden treasure of Alfama and on its steep stairs you can breathe the soul of Lisbon.
