A really nice private bedroom and bathroom in an historic house on the west end of Downtown Boise. It's within walking or bike riding distance to all kinds of amenities. Fellow traveler looking to inexpensively share parts of his home to other travelers. Everything will be cleaned and sanitized before your arrival.

The space
The bedroom is in the basement of my 100 year old house that is very close to downtown and in a great neighborhood. The bedroom has a new, vinyl wood floor, and a small walk-in closet. It's cool in the summer and there's a great heater for the winter. The thermostat is on the wall next to the bed. It's very touchy and 53 degrees will heat the room nicely. But you can control to your liking. Please turn it off when you leave for the day and when you check out.
The bathroom has a lot of tile and a heated floor. Please use the vent in the bathroom, when you shower, to avoid mold. It's third switch on the right. The two rooms are not connected and you'll have to walk a few steps between rooms. I will share the washer if need be but I have no dryer. Please ask to use the washer. If you need a fridge, just ask. There are 7 steps down into the basement. The bedroom has 3 windows, including an egress window, so there's lots of daylight. And it's very quiet.
Be advised, the bed is a double not a queen.

Guest access
There is a side door entrance that goes into the basement. This entrance is separate from the main, front door. The side entrance has a light sensor so the light will go off upon arriving at the door at night. There is a keyless entry. Just punch in the code, turn the deadbolt and turn the doorknob to open the door. I will give you the code before or upon your arrival - if I'm home. This is your private entrance but I might need to use it on occasion. My check in / check out times are flexible. But if you can give me some idea of those times as soon as you know that will be helpful.

Other things to note
Sometimes I'm in the back country where there's no connectivity. So, if you try to make a reservation and I don't respond that's probably why.
For the most part, I'd like to keep the main part of my house separate from the basement, while I have a guest. That especially goes for kitchen use. I eat all my meals there and I guess I'm not willing to share. I will probably have room in my fridge if you need to keep things cold. If you're here for one or two nights that's probably not going to be a problem. If you want to stay longer, please be advised.

This is a spare room in my house - but it's mostly your private space. If you're here for more than a few days I might need to use the basement but I will time that when you're gone.

Currently I have blocked off certain days so I can clean and also have the house to myself because of a very busy job. It's not set in stone so ask. I'm an early riser and that includes weekends.

Also, if you could put your used towels on the bathroom floor, when you check out, that would be great. And please use the ceiling vent in the bathroom. Also, make sure the heat is turned off when you leave for the day and check out.

Thanks, Jay

Hi, my name is Jay. I have lived in Boise since 1986. I have owned my house since 2003 and it's a short distance from downtown. I'm an avid bicycle commuter, I love downhill skiing up at Bogus Basin, I backpack in the summer and I'm a photographer. I love the outdoors and I love traveling. When I'm on the road I don't need much. Aside from having some gear, I just need a quiet place to sleep. I don't have a lot of needs but being close to a market or downtown would be helpful.
