Ho w to respond to this roll of pejorative comments about my house .... I can say that I never felt so disrespected, offended and wronged. Over the last 5 years I have been doing my best to receive my guests as best as possible and to provide them with a pleasant stay, from who I have always received positive and motivating comments. The house is described by them as a nice place, calm, comfortable, cozy, well equipped, excellent for a large family, well situated, etc ... 35 positive comments that allowed me to be a superhost, of which I have been very proud. I always took into consideration the suggestions from the guests that allowed me to evolve and improve. To be an Airbnb guest means to escape from the clichés of hotels, escape from the tourist sites, live as local people, away from the confusion, which seems to me not to be suitable for those who do not value it ...
As for the questions of the house:
- Refers to an old door, this old door is about 7/8 years old and was ordered by us when the house was remodelled, as well as the double windows.
- As we say in the add, the house is in the main square of the village, so is expected to have the natural noise of a small village. If you wanted to have total silence maybe you should choose a house in the countryside in the first place. I would like you to know that that during this process, I consulted the neighbors , as well as the previous guests (who had left a few days before) about this noise situation, since we never had complaints from the guests, much less we, as regular users of the house had any noise problems. Both having responded in a peremptory way that they did not noticed in any time this noise described by you.
- As for the cancelation, the fact that you want to give up (strangely) right after the first night, and although you have been pleased in the check in, I can assure you that this fact was immediately reported to Airbnb, and despite our cancelation politics says that you would have to pay the remaining seven nights, I spent long hours in conversation with airbnb to find a better solution, even against my interest, Still, I allowed instead of cancellation to make a change to your reservation, saving you a lot of money and putting myself in the situation of loosing almost a week of income in high season.
I would like to remember you that a few days before your arrival I was informed by you that you would stay one night less. So despite the change was made very close to your arrival , I was sensitive to this fact and for you not having to pay for that night, I spent several hours on the phone with Airbnb, in order to be able to change your reservation, since if that change was made by you, it would result in an additional value of + 50 €, as you probably remember.
I also don't understand why you had to travel so far to the south of Portugal to find an acomodation when you had several apropriate and cheaper places in the nearby area. That made me wonder if the reason of your descontent would be other than the supposed noise and that I might be led to change our cancelation policy for a situation much more convenient for you.
So I also want to alert other hosts to be very careful and confirm always any complaint before acepting it in good faith.
I can only consider your malicious words, not as an alert to other guests, as it would be in your right to do, but an unfounded incitement to destroy what we have conquered over the years.I sincerely hope you find the silence you are looking for, but above all that you find your inner peace.
