The space
Comfortable Queen size bed in a sunny large room with table (seating for two), mini fridge, TV and water kettle (for coffee and tea). Room has a separate entrance and private bathroom with shower, and is big enough to accommodate a travel crib if guests bring one. Sliding glass door and windows provide plenty of light, with a view of the small garden. Wifi provided. This is a perfect room for the guest and/or traveller who wants privacy.

This room is part of my house, but is private for guests. It is a large comfortable room with plenty of sunlight.
There is no house or kitchen access for guests. No smoking is allowed on any part of the premises.
Access to washing machine may be granted to longer staying guests, or by separate request to the host at her discretion.

Guest access
Guests have access to private room with queen size bed, and private bathroom with a shower. Private room is reached via the side gate of the main house.

Other things to note
I will accomodate same day reservations when I can, but it is not always possible because of my work schedule and needed turn around time.

There is no access to the private house or use of a kitchen, but room is conveniently located near many restaurants and coffee shops.

I leave for work very early in the a.m. so prefer guests who do not come in very, very late at night!

A water kettle is provided for coffee and tea, and a mini-fridge for bringing your own drinks and snacks if desired. TV in the room ( but no cable- sorry!)
Wifi available.

A World traveler/airline brat who grew up in New York City, and has lived in Italy, Switzerland, and Seattle (Washington State) before putting down 'roots' in Berkeley, California to raise my wonderful daughter. I'm interested in all things 'geology' (especially sedimentary processes -ie. Flooding, landslides, etc) and just retired from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SF Water, Power, etc) after working as an environmental inspector, planner and geologist. I studied geology at Hunter College in NYC a long, long time ago! My retirement hours are spent singing with my Eastern European Chorus - ZELE, going to plays at Berkeley Rep and OSF in Ashland, travelling, listening to NPR, hanging with friends, cooking, and visiting my family. Took up skiing again recently! In my new spare time I teach disaster preparedness classes for the City of Berkeley's CERT program. Love looking at aerial photography on that free website. Don't love cleaning my house or doing chores, but have more time to read the NY Times, discuss books with my book group and get into the great outdoors when I can. I speak a little Italian, Spanish and German...VERY little. I try to be a dedicated environmentalist, and to leave as small a footprint wherever I go... CONSERVING WATER is #1 on my list. You'll see i hang my clothes on a good old fashioned clothes line to dry! My dog, Pace, is 16 and partially blind and partially deaf. He's still pretty active though - as we all hope to be at 105 years old! Love to hear the stories of other travelers! PS - My co-host Lorenzo Meigs is a college student attending college back east (and home for the summer). He loves talking politics and philosophy, and is also a world traveler.
