You'll be warmly welcomed. Great for solo travellers. Advice on travel and sightseeing. Perfect for short stay guests (1-6 nights). Comfy couch-bed in living room. looks onto pretty garden. Close to shops/cafes/ bars/metro/buses - central London 25 mins. Very safe - for your luggage and for you. LGBT friendly.

The space
Guests sleep on sofa bed in the living room which is private from 10 pm to 10 am.

In the morning, open the glass doors and take your tea/ coffee and sit out in the small green and peaceful garden (in the summer).

Large bathroom, shared (with one - me). Guests all say the bed is comfortable, the room quiet and they sleep well.
Continental breakfast included - toast/croissants/muesli/tea/coffee.
Your bed is a full-sized single bed by night and a couch by day. I ask guests to put bedding away by 10 am, and the bed can be made up again after 9-10 pm (unless you request special arrangements).

In the evening, you can watch TV, chat, go on your laptop - make yourself at home or go out to a bar/club less than 5 minutes walk from here.
Solo women (and men) - welcomed - very safe area.
During the day, (when you're not visiting the sights of London), you can take a laptop/book to any of the local bars/ restaurants/cafes, libraries (all have free wi-fi)and sit alone without any hassle. There's always a buzz of people about, so you never feel isolated.

Location

London, Harringay, United Kingdom

Apart from great transport links to all parts of London, it's a fascinating multicultural experience, staying in this area.

Ethnic mix, very diverse - Turkish/Kurdish/Greek /Polish/ Indian/ Italian/ Eastern European/Caribbean, British etc.. It's busy and lots of people about always - but quiet in my short road.

You need grocery shops? 50 metres to Rainbow corner shop which sells everything, open 24/7.

Busy Green Lanes is at the end of my short road, very safe to walk around day and evening.- shops, restaurants and cafes open late into evening -good Turkish restaurants, Italian pasta/pizza place (100m), Indian curries, Chinese, Vietnamese, fast chicken/kebabs, pancakes, fish and chips, all within 3-8 minutes walk of my flat - all reasonably priced. Lots of bakeries (the best baklava pastries), small supermarkets/ ready meals, fruit n veg . etc.

And lets not forget the nearby Alexandra Palace - a fantastic building set in a very large park at the top of a hill less than a mile from here. It has (in my opinion) the best views of the whole of London - right down to the Shard ( a man made spire over London Bridge) on the River Thames on the other side of London. Alexandra Palace, built as a People's Palace and once home to the BBC, where the first ever TV broadcasts went out, from (1936), also has a constant stream of events in the huge halls - from Music Festivals to World Darts events, from Knitting and sewing to Multi Cultural Food events - and right on my doorstep (practically). Check out their website - on your search engine.

During your stay
I'm sure you'll love this area as much as I do. Enjoy your stay! I give you guidance, if asked, about where to eat/drink, all the best tourist places and how to get anywhere in London - transport is very easy from my place.

I'm happy to give info about all the sights and free things to do in London.

Guests are usually out during the day, sometimes have activities planned for the evening or rest indoors. I'm happy to chat over breakfast or in the evening, but equally happy for you (and me) to get on with our own activities.
