Giovanni was not very responsive even when the date was nearing check-in and I was getting a tad worried that he might not show up when I reached so I had to get AirBnB themselves to help me get things sorted out. I had trouble with the room heaters and had to message him a couple of times for a reply but he was very helpful and patient when he did respond. Overall Giovanni is a very friendly and good host and the apartment is at a good location. We met Giovanni in person to check-in and there was no problem at all. The apartment is close to Rialto Market and I could buy fresh produce everyday! It is safe and cozy, quiet as well. The place was just lovely :-)

For the price, this was absolutely NOT a good deal. Also, the hot water heater needed to be switched on regularly to get hot water. And it did not work properly on our final day, so my partner had to hold the switch in the "on" position, while I was taking a shower in the somewhat constrained bathroom space - and vice-versa. Good thing I was not traveling with just a friend ... Location? Ideal. Check in? Smooth. But Giovanni only got back to my messages, after I complained to Air B&B about his not communicating. But once we got on What'sApp, it was OK, the communication. Bottom line? This was $166 per night! Should have been more like $80. Not recommended.

My friend and I had a great time at this place, it was centrally located and it was easy to walk to all the popular destinations. The restaurants and cafes around the area were spectacular. Because we had no wifi or phone plan to contact anyone once we got to Venice, we didn't know Giovanni messaged us saying someone else would meet us. But it all worked out. Please be advised that the address listed once you book isn't the exact address. We met Giovanni's contact at the Rialto Mercato Sea Bus Stop and she guided us to the place. It'd probably be easiest if future renters did the same.

Great location, cosy apartment and good communication. We enjoyed our stay, the only drawback is that the water heater kept turning off.

Locationg was really convenient, not in the most touristic area so it wasn't super busy and packed which was really nice. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the waterbus stop which was really convenient. Be aware however that the fish market is very close so I do not reccomend going out early as the odour is quite strong. Also the shower doors close on a corner (both doors close at the corner of the square shower) and while the top through to a little more than half way down close and seal fine, the bottom doesn't quite close so water gets through the opening. I would reccomend just putting a small towel in te corner so you don't slip on the small puddle when getting out of the shower. There are really great bakeries and shops around, much cheaper than you will find in St.Mark's square. Overall, really happy with the place.

I definitely recommend the apartment. It's in a great location, near the Rialto bridge, right in the centre of Venice. That's why it's really close to all main attractions and historical monuments. The apartment is very well equipped and almost everything was working properly. Only a hair dryer was broken and Giovanni didn't provide us with a new one (despite he promised to deliver one he allegedly bought). We were very surprised when it turned out that the apartment was provided with many things such as toilet paper, soap, cleansers, oil, vinegar, tea, coffee, salt, anti mosquito dispellers, garbage bags etc. We travel a lot and we happened to rent apartments where no such basic stuff was provided. It must be pointed out that the apartment is small - only for two people. The bed is huge and I must disagree that it's not comfortable (I read such opinions in other people's reviews). I like hard mattresses, but my daughter don't, and she claimed the bed was a bit uncomfortable for her. In general, we were very satisfied with the apartment. We stayed there for 2 weeks, we cooked dinners, and lived there as if it was our home. So we highly recommend it. PS. Giovanni, another time, try to fulfill your promises. If you told me you'd purchased a new hair dryer and you promised to deliver it to us, just do it. You had almost 2 weeks to bring it to the apartment and you failed... Venice is very small and it don't take more that 15 minutes to get to the apartment even from the other end of the town.

We were generally very satisfied with our stay. The flat is very convieniently situated and well equipped. We greatly appreciated AC as it was very hot outside. There was some frustration before our arrival because Giovanni didn't respond to our messages until quite late, but finally a friend of his met us on time, so that was ok. There were also minor problems with the shower (the door needs repairing) and the water heater kept turning off.. on the whole, we recommend this flat though.
