The space
Located in the exclusive southwest Florida island of North Captiva, just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Accessible only by ferry, water taxis or private plane, Viva La Playa is a private getaway without leaving behind the comforts of home. Here, you will find no cars, no crowds nor paved roads. Strewn across an expansive nature preserve, this North Captiva Island home will make you feel in paradise!
The house features:
Inverted floor plan with the living areas (living room, dining room and kitchen) on the second floor. The floor plan maximizes the view of the ocean and the spectaculars sunsets.
Second floor:
The living area has an open concept floor plan with a cathedral ceiling. This distribution offers a spacious feel and large gathering space.
Fully equipped kitchen with roomy living room and dining room.
A Powder room
Spacious Lanai with ocean views. The lanai has mosquito screen through out. This space is a wonderful complementary living area with incredible sights of the golf, island and sunset!

The house is manage by Tortuga Property Services. This company will great you at the harbor and take care of you and your family while in the island.

The island offers a small town impression with enough amenities to suite your family needs.
Private club (optional membership) equipped with two Olympic and lap size swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, a pool bar and tennis courts. Complementary free kayaks and bicycles with the membership

Hourly Ferry service (Island Girls Charters, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) at Pine Island Marina.
If you fly into Ft. Myers (RSW) or Punta Gorda (PGD) airports, Pine Island Taxi ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) offers airport service to Pine Island Marina. Also UBER is available in the area.


This private and secluded island does not have paved roads. No cars, no noise, no pollution! Guest and owners get around by golf carts, bikes or by foot. It has miles of pristine white sandy beaches. The house is only one block from the ocean. Abundant wildlife including manatees, dolphins and sea turtles can be seen every day from the shore. Big gopher tortoises roaming freely at the sandy streets.
Most of the island is a protected preserve with nature trails and pristine beaches.

General Information: Traveling to North Captiva Island

How to get to North Captiva Via Fort Myers, Tampa, or Sarasota:

From the South or North of I-75: From I-75, get off at exit 143 (SR78 or Pine Island Rd) and go west. Follow Pine Island Road (SR78) through Matlacha to the 4-way stop. Turn right (North) onto Stringfellow Road.

Directions to Pineland Marina. The turn off for Pineland Marina is 3 miles north on Stringfellow Road. Turn left on Pineland Road. This will turn into Waterfront Drive and you will see us on the left, nestled on the shores of Pine Island Sound. The address is 13921 Waterfront Drive, Pineland Florida. If you have any questions while traveling, the number at the marina is ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Visit their website for additional i(EMAIL HIDDEN) There is an excellent restaurant (Tarpon Lodge) within walking distance from the marina. Menus are located on the Pineland Marina website. Parking is available at the marina. Please check with the marina for current parking rates.

* Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda (PGD) – Rent a car (40 Miles) Sarasota (SRQ) – you will need to rent a car (90 miles) Tampa (TPA) – you will need to rent a car (139 miles)

Reservations are required for van service. Our recommendation is to call at least 3 weeks in advance of your reservation; however the best plan is to book once your flights are secured. Have your flight information
and arrival time ready when making your reservation. If you experience delays during your travel date,
make sure to communicate with your van service so they can plan accordingly for your arrival. Pine Island Taxi is very familiar with North Captiva. It allows one (1) complementary 15 minute stop along the trip from the airport.


Rental Cars - All airports have major rental company representation. Parking is available at Pineland Marina
(Island Girl Charters’ marina) but there is a daily charge (See Island Girl Charters below).

Water Taxi to North Captiva

Reservations are required for all water taxi services. You should set up your water taxi arrival and departure times as early as possible. This will help you secure your desired time for arrival and departure to the island. There are two types of water taxi services, scheduled and private charters. Please make sure you know
which service you have your water taxi reservations with, and please email us your itinerary in advance so we can coordinate check-in’s efficiently.

Island Girl Charters departs from Pineland Marina daily, call for departure times. Private water taxi service is also available from Island Girl Charters. Depending on the time of year, the departure
times can vary. When calling Island Girl, they will verify the schedule and rates for services rendered. Island Girl also offers private water taxi service if you desire or need the service. Island Girl departs out of Pineland Marina located at 13921 Waterfront Drive, Pineland, FL 33945. Pineland Marina offers parking services for a daily fee.

Other things to note
North Captiva Island Club Membership
This optional membership ($75 per group/per stay) will allow you and all members of your party to use the NCIC facilities, including two swimming pools, a hot tub, bar/restaurant, tennis court. The membership fee needs to be paid at NCIC office by you, after arrival to the island. The membership included free Kayaks, bicycles, beach chairs, and tennis racquets. These Equipment is checked out on a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you abide by a few easy rules for everyone’s enjoyment:
1. Take only the equipment you have signed out.
2. Failure to return on time will result in a $10 recovery fee per bike.
3. Damaged or lost equipment will be billed to you at replacement cost.
Bicycles - 4 hours maximum (DO NOT ride bicycles into the State Land)
Beach Chairs - 4 chairs maximum per stay (DO NOT leave Beach Chairs on the beach overnight)
Kayaks - 2 hour maximum (Please return Kayaks to the dock area, out of the water)
Tennis Rackets - 2 hour maximum

VACATION PROTECTION PLAN: We offer optional trip cancellation insurance, which protects guests from unforeseen circumstances that may cause a cancellation or early departure. Trip insurance must be purchased at the time of confirming the reservation. Please ask me for more information, if interested.

RENTAL PROPERTY DAMAGE PLAN: We encourage renters to opt for a Vacation Rental Property Damage Insurance Policy (via CSA Travel Protection Insurance Company). If you decide NOT to opt for the Property Damage policy, you will need to provide us a Security Deposit of $500 and we will return it a week after your departure. If interested in the insurance package, ask me about it.

During your stay
Check-in Procedures
Our house managers, will be happy to acquaint you with the island and help answer any questions you may have about this beautiful property. We recommend that you arrive to North Captiva Island via Island Girl Charters (at Barnacles Dock), Boats & Fun, Emmy Girl Charters, or your own private boat. Kindly let us know your arrival time(s) in advance (by email) so we can coordinate the check-in. Groceries can be ordered in advance through Tortuga whereby the kitchen will be fully stocked at check-in. Upon arrival on the island, our property managers will be checking you in to Viva La Playa.
You will be greeted at the dock by them where you will not have to lift a finger. Our team will unload your luggage off the boat, transport everything to Viva la Playa, and carry all items into the house. Our goal is to make your long travel day as stress-free as possible!

Checkout Procedures
As you depart the Island we ask that you leave the house in the following condition:
• Please the house in good overall condition
• Wash and dry all beach towels
• Strip all beds and place linens on top of the beds
• Place dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the washer
• Remove all trash from the house and place in the trash bin outside
• If you moved any furniture, please return it to it’s original position

This will enable our cleaning staff to quickly and efficiently clean and prepare the house for the next guests arrival. Failure to heed the above steps may create delays in the cleaning schedule, and force us to use part of your security deposit to cover extra cleaning costs.

Please remember that the house is privately owned. We ask that you respect and treat the house and furnishings as if they were your own. If you happen to damage or break anything in the home during your stay, please report it to Tortuga.
