Originally from Chicago, I have adapted to my last ten years in Seattle by exploring the many neighborhoods the city has to offer and getting out of the city for hiking whenever possible. My chihuahuas Annabelle and Charlie are usually by my side or keeping an eye on the neighborhood, and are very good at finding sun spots whenever they appear (this is Seattle, yes, but they do appear!). I'm amazed by how many new restaurants and bars have opened in the last couple of years, and like to try new spots whenever possible; having said that, as a vegan I do have my favorites. I have an art background and enjoy visiting the SAM, and also like to bob my head with the rest of the crowd at many of Seattle's many music venues. In the summer I like to spend a few weekends on exploring one of the islands (Doe Bay on Orcas Island is the best hidden secret of Washington). I volunteer at the local animal shelter, am a huge fan of innovative design, and sometimes can be found out walking, in the garden, or on a yoga mat. As a host, I mostly like to offer the house and yard in great shape and let you enjoy your stay on your terms. If you need or want help or suggestions, please reach out through the Airbnb app. I have a pretty quick response time whenever possible! Or- wave me down whenever you see me out and about. I love to chat with guests about anything, and am just as happy to respect privacy. Mostly I strive to provide a homey and comfortable experience for your Seattle visit. If you're looking for things to do while you are in town, here are a few suggestions: Favorite Thai place: Jai Thai in Fremont Favorite vegan cafe: Chaco Canyon in Greenwood Favorite breakfast spot: Portage Bay Cafe Favorite local visit/ park walk: Ballard Locks Favorite new-agey store: East-West book store Favorite music venue: Showbox at the Market Favorite neighborhood for lively night-life: Capitol Hill Favorite yoga studio: 8 Limbs Favorite Farmer's Market: Ballard Market, open every Sunday 10-3, rain or shine! Favorite mall shopping experience: UVillage (open air mall) Favorite hiking area for moderate hiking: Darrington, North Cascades. (Try Boulder River for a scenic drive and nice day hike, or many easy to moderate hikes along highway 2). Favorite challenging hike: Mount Pilchuck (Mt. Pilchuck is challenging, but the view is worth it if you have the time and energy! If you do take on Mt.Pilchuck, make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate clothing and footwear). Thank you for looking!
