Sit at a wooden desk and summon the writer's muse at the Austen family's home from 1801 to 1805. Walls teem with artwork and shelves overflow with curious objects. Rustic stone floors lead to a courtyard that seems far removed from the modern world.
“In this house, Jane started work on her early and unfinished novella, “The Watsons”. Furnished with antique furniture, some of which has been in our family for generations, we offer a unique and authentic slice of history.”

Hi, I’m Maxwell. I’m travelling the world with my wife, Anna, and we’re making our apartment in the City of Bath available while we’re travelling the world! Our home was once the Austen family's kitchen, scullery, and vaults - the very place where Jane would have made tea and breakfast for her family, while looking out of the window onto the courtyard (also known as an area, airy, or airey!). Anna has planted some roses and other plants, so the view these days is one to enjoy! We love travelling, reading, the arts and culture, and our Bath flat reflects our sensibilities. For our guests to peruse and to get to know us better in our absence, we have left numerous books, knick-knacks from our past travels and family histories, and the various technological conveniences we enjoy at home. We also completely refurbished our shower room with high-end fittings as after travelling extensively you learn to value a good shower! I am happy to offer other travellers the opportunity to stay in this modicum of history while visiting the historic City of Bath.
