Cottage holiday rentals in Ross-on-Wye

We had a fabulous short break in Humbug Barn. Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Delicious meals waiting for us to cook upon arrival and fantastic hosts. We had a couple of minor issues that Amanda and Mark sorted straight away. Extremely friendly and very welcoming and the dogs were made to feel at home too. Thank you for making our stay really relaxing and we would definitely recommend. 5 stars for sure!

Jamie & Dan are very fortunate to have this beautiful property. It is the ideal country location for escaping away and distancing yourself from our increasingly busy lives. The gardens around the property are stunning, the views are incredible and the local area is amazing to explore on foot, bike or by car. We had an amazing stay and would happily return, and have already started to recommend to friends & family

This place is so lovely! Host Meng was so kind, even putting some beautiful flowers in the cottage for my birthday ❤️ the view is spectacular, it's one of the most peaceful places I've been. Hot tub is great fun, the kitchen has got everything you need including washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. The bed was comfy, plug sockets everywhere you'd want them and usb sockets. It was great to see how dog friendly the place is with throws for the couch, fenced garden and fixed stairs gates. I highly advise popping into Jolter Press Cider bar/shop and getting some food from the local Chinese takeaway. Also a walk to St Anthony's Well, there's some step incline/declines on the walk there but it's beautiful and you have to take a dip! We also went to the Three Choirs Vineyard that was beautiful and good fun too. I would definitely come back and I think it would be equally beautiful in any season, our summer trip was fantastic but I'd love to see it in autumn or winter too.

Had a lovely couple of days at Hlolly Barn. It’s a beautiful property in a gorgeous spot. The weather was fantastic which made everything even better. It’s really very easy to explore some superb walks and trails across the common and downs. Brockhampton Estate is well worth a visit too. Sarah is very friendly and it’s great to know she is next door without being intrusive. Loved it!

The cottage was lovely, lovely location, very well remote, hot was surrounded by beautiful views. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Incredible place! We had a lovely couple of nights here. The house is full of character and has everything you need and the enclosed garden was great for our young daughter and dogs. Very peaceful location so sitting in the hot tub in the evenings was very relaxing. The added bonus of access to the river at the bottom of the garden was great! Will checked us in and gave us some suggestions of local walks and things to do which was ideal. Would highly recommend!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cheryl’s cottage. The photos of the view really didn’t do justice to just how stunning the surroundings were. The house was fully equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was amazing - top of the range! Thanks you for a wonderful stay

a lovely cottage in a quiet area. just outside of Ross on wye. easy to check in and check out. cottage was immaculate. would definitely recommend staying here. would definitely stay here again if staying in the area great for the dog too!

We enjoyed our stay at Catherine’s cottage! Catherine was so responsive, helpful, and so kind throughout our stay. The cottage was absolutely beautiful with very thoughtful touches throughout. Location is perfect, especially for exploring the northern part of the Cotswolds. Our stay coincided with a few hot days, but the cottage was comfortable and Catherine ensured there were fans available to keep the air circulating. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back on our next trip to the Cotswolds!

A charming cottage located in the heart of the village, within easy reach of a wide range of trails, some of which are challenging. We felt totally relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. Tintern Abbey is very close by, with Chepstow & Monmouth a short drive away. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful stay (it was my second visit) and the property was perfect for my elderly mother. It's all on one level with spacious rooms and an accessible wet room. The property is very well equipped so it's easy to self cater if you want to. The house is very attractive inside and out and in a perfect setting with beautiful views. It's very peaceful and rural but with plenty of places to visit if you take a short drive and lovely local walks.

Graig Ddu is a very special place. The house has a timeless quality to it, so much more than a typical holiday rental. The location is so beautiful, it is surrounded by the garden and trees up a lovely forest track (but still safely driveable) We enjoyed the walk along the valley to Llanthony Priory but also just spent time in the garden. We were there during the unusually hot weather and the house was a cool, calm escape. Really enjoyed the books and Positive News magazines, a much needed antidote to current affairs! Kevin was a terrific host. The gardens of the house were excellent and made for a relaxing stay. The house was very charming and we enjoyed cooking for each other and playing games.

Peaceful cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views. We had a wonderful stay here and Kerry was always very helpful and responsive! Thank you Kerry! Just one thing to note for more nervous drivers is that the road leading up to the property is very narrow with some steep parts which sometimes require some maneuvering if there is an oncoming vehicle! But it is very doable and once you reach the property it is lovely. Thank you for our stay!

Lovely property in a beautiful setting. Clean and tidy. Everything you need. Can walk along the river and to Symonds Yat Rock (via hand pulled ferry) directly from the property. Several places to eat within walking distance. Host was very responsive and ensured we enjoyed are stay.

Our stay at Victoria’s cottage was one that we will reminisce about for a long time - hopefully we will be back soon and will stay much longer! We were so comfortable and felt very much at home, with a dream king bed and beautiful art and textiles decorating the home. Wotton-Under-Edge is a scenic 20-minute walk away for all amenities. Truly a restful Cotswolds experience surrounded by farms and nature.

We really enjoyed our stay at Top Barn. The accommodation was great and had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. The garden had amazing views and was completely secure which was great for our two dogs. We enjoyed watching the sheep and the huge rabbits it the field next door. The accommodation is only a shorty drive from the forest of Dean and there are walks available straight from the property. Check in was easy and Cathy always responded to messages really quickly. We enjoyed the Welsh cakes and honey!

Rick and Anne were fantastic hosts. I received lots of recommendations tailored to my profile and they were extremely welcoming. The place was as described and looked better than the photos. Would highly recommend to other visitors. Thanks again!

We had a lovely two nights at Alison’s cottage. Just the relaxing break we needed. We loved sitting outside in the evening watching the bats and keeping warm with the fire pit.

Doris and her husband were wonderful hosts. They were so warm, welcoming, kind and generous. They went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We had special little treats like pastries daily. Were given fresh eggs on arrival from their own hens and wine.

Absolutely lovely 5 days at the cottage. Stunning cottage great hosts. So worth the visits. Would definitely return

Perry Pear Cottage has for us been such a restful and peaceful retreat. Nestled off the beaten track in a rural setting in the heart of The Forest Dean, it was lovely to be serenaded with nature's music of bird song and lowing cattle in the fore. Conveniently situated for so many attractions and beauty spots, this charming little place ticked all the boxes. What better way to ease your troubles and woes. A peaceful and secluded cottage but still close to lovely walks, shops and restaurants. It is a very well equip cottage. Everything I needed in the kitchen and lovey shower rooms. The door ways were a bit low for my 6ft 4 ins partner but that was the only issue.
