Marie's place was exactly what we were looking for on our recent trip to Newcastle! Marie and Alister were excellent hosts and ever welcoming. The place itself is in a stunning location with beautiful views out of the bedroom window of the lake! Could not speak more highly of our experience and stay with Marie and Alister. Will certainly be looking to return here on our next newcastle visit.

The location of this stay suited our casual lifestyle to a tee. The view across the water from the swing seat overlooking the jetty made a perfect place to enjoy a drink or relax. Breakfast was well catered for and other meals could be prepared with ease.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lakeside apartment. Beth ensured that everything from our first contact to checking out went as seamless as possible. The apartment is well equipped with high end bedding and towels. The apartment is well located with restaurants a short walk away and supermarkets in easy reach if you wanted to self cater. We enjoyed the 20m lap pool which was very inviting after our run along the old railway line to Fassifern. Our only complaint was that we could not stay longer! We will definitely be back!

Beth was a fantastic host, let us know everything we needed to. She even messaged me to let me know when there was a power outage and any details she could find. The apartment was spotless, everything you could need was available. The cafe next door was a little noisy in the morning but other than that the location is fantastic. Very short walk to restaurants and cafes, and across the road from a lovely park on the lake

Beth's home was exactly as described. The pool was absolutely the best way to cool down. Walking distance to some awesome cafes. The Toronto pub is just up the road and is definitely worthwhile checking out for a schnitzel Highly recommend this property!!!

We took our little family to the area for a sporting event. This accommodation was perfect. The unit was clean and accommodating in everyway. Beth the owner was fantastic having the place ready early for us on our day of arrival. The unit has everything from washing powder to shampoo and conditioner, sunscreen etc. Beth has thought of everything if you open a cabbord to see if something was there you needed it was there and Im not even joking. Great little Cafe next door. We ordered breakie and coffee and just walked it to the outdoor area of our unit. Great place clean and tidy made our stay very comfortable and will be back next year 100%. Thanks again to Beth who is a great host.

Me and my friends stayed in Jean house for two nights and it was such a great experience. Even though Jean was on holiday and we didn't have a chance to meet , she was so nice that leave detail information from day trips options to nearby restaurants . We received detail email before we arrived and it is about how to open the door and who to find when we have problems . I am really appreciated this . This property is the upper level of the house and have separated entry. Two bedrooms with three beds are very clean and nice. Jean put many cooking machines in the kitchen and this is very good for people who like to cook by themselves ( like us) The surrounding environment is very nice and quiet . It is not far from supermarkets and restaurants by driving and delivery foods could be choose. I strongly recommend this house and Jean is a very nice and friendly host. She always quickly replied me with detail explanation . I will love to stay there again .

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. The French themed home was absolutely beautiful and we loved the warmth and cosines of the place, it felt like home. Mum enjoyed her birthday weekend away. Our experience staying at Gean and Errol's accomodation was a very unexpected surprise. Every detail, small and large had been thought of. We arrived to a home baked fresh loaf of bread and home made jam. The fridge and cupboards were stocked. After showering after a very long drive we found freshly laundered fluffy robes to snuggle into. Nothing was missed from a small torch in the bedside draw to hand selected beautiful quality bathroom products. The decor was warm and welcoming, making us feel very much at home. There were lovely personal touches in each room, trinkets and art. Giving a feel of travel and comfort. Our hosts very clearly put a lot of love into this and we both felt as though we were staying at a family's home. We would highly recommend staying and would love to come again.

Jerome and I spent a very nice weekend in the Hunter and La Maison Verte was the perfect place for this gateway. Our hosts made their home very welcoming and cosy, it made us feel like at home. La Maison Verte is decorated with style with a genuine French touch!

This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a really lovely one. Jean and her husband were hospitable, greeting us with a loaf of freshly baked bread on our arrival as well as many quality teas and coffees, homemade jams, yoghurt and fruit which was enjoyed. The apartment can only be described as gorgeous and so comfortable. It's nice to be on the receiving end of hosts that have such high standards and this is so evident in every aspect of this apartment. My husband and I along with our teenage son enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it highly.

We only had time to stay for 1 night at La Maison Verte but we could have moved (URL HIDDEN) was absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully furnished with luxury linen- Spotlessly clean - the kitchen was equipped with everything you need- and breakfast essentials to get you on the road again. We didn't get to meet Jeannie but were warmly met by Errol who made us feel right at home. We highly recommend this comfortable, cosy flat and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Greeted at reception by a very helpful host. It was pouring with rain and he very kindly directed us to an undercover parking spot which we would not have found ourselves. The apartment was light and clean and very well equipped. Tea, coffee,milk and biscuits were provided along with essential toiletries and a hairdryer. The unit was within easy walking distance of an excellent thai restaurant, a cafe with great coffee and the main shopping strip. Great views from bedroom windows and side balcony to the lake on the other side of the road.

Had such a lovely stay would recommend. Such friendly locals and so many beautiful places to see and explore in the area and surrounding areas. I have to mention the view from the balcony aswell it was amazing especially in the morning with a coffee. Definitely would go back. The only thing that would make it better is it they add more data to the wifi because there is a limit on 200mb which is so little.

Mary and Stuart were very flexible with check in and check out times - as we were travelling with a young child, the early check in time enabled us to get settled and attend our engagement nearby in good time. The rooms were clean and bedding was cosy. It was also close to the lake and only a 4 min drive from the local town centre with cafes, supermarkets, and petrol stations - a convenient and quiet location.

I barely have words to describe how welcome I felt in Haslemere House, and how gorgeous Julie and Gary are. I stopped at Haslemere House for a couple of days after a retreat in the Hunter Valley and it was just the most perfect environment to 'land' after days of silence and working on myself. Julie and Gary are truly beautiful individuals, a passionate, creative couple and amazing hosts. They welcomed me, shared a meal the night I arrived, made me laugh and we shared stories of our lives. They were great company, very sensitive and welcoming. They shared a lot of local knowledge and suggested a few walks that I'm going to do when I will be back in the area... as this time around I basically hang out with them all the time! The studio was just perfect, with an AMAZING bed, the softest bath robe and towels, a deep bath tub and delightful living space, where I could find everything easily. Even though the kitchen looks a bit small from the photos, it does everything one needs for cooking, making tea and smoothies. The house itself is amazing, with an upstairs deck where to have tea and hang in the sun and where you can see many native birds feed on hanging plates. Julie and Gary are very knowledgeable about, and tuned in with the birds and animals that come and visit the house (like the possum on the big tree in front of the house) and it was great...we saw some beautiful king parrots while I was there. I am so happy I got to know Julie and Gary, and share their beautiful space. I couldn't have asked more for my first airbnb experience! Truly truly delightful experience.

Being an international traveller, I've stayed in many and varied accommodations and what Julie and Gary offer is one of the best experiences I've ever had anywhere in the world. The unit is well setup, providing everything you need for a luxurious stay, while being spectacularly decorated in keeping with the property's overall eclectic but classy theme. It was a pleasure to relax amongst the well-kept grounds, kept company by the native birds that visit and the occasional chat with the hosts. The layout means you have plenty of privacy to do your own thing and have complete independence or mix with the hosts if you're feeling more social. It truly is one of the finest accommodation experiences you will find on the shores of Lake Macquarie!

Staying at Haslemere House was absolutely wonderful - the location was great, nestled quietly near the water but also amongst the trees. Julie & Gary are so incredibly kind and sweet hosts who were willing to provide suggestions for places to eat/things to do. It was extremely peaceful, a great easter weekend getaway. You can tell Julie put a lot of thought, love, and care into the place as she had personalised welcome letters. There was even handmade soap made for the place! I would definitely come back and stay. We really enjoyed our stay at Julie and Garry’s place. We stayed two nights. The unit was located below the front deck of the house on the edge of their beautiful front garden. We could walk out of the front door to sit by the pond for a nice wine and cheese platter. The unit was fully equipped with everything we needed. A great place to stop be for a few days. Very clean and spacious, perfect for a couple. And just 10 or 15 mins walk along the water to the village where the Thai does a great meal. Gail and Ray were welcoming but discrete as well. Highly recommend.

Ray was a very friendly and welcoming host (Gail was not around at the time of our stay) who was keen to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time at Wangi Wangi. The accommodation was new, fresh and clean and would suit a single person or a couple for any length of stay.

Ray was incredibly friendly, providing us with a walk-through of the studio and was there at check-out to ensure the place was expected. Highly recommend Ray and Gail's home, it was quite convenient for all activities that we wanted to, the place was extremely clean and modern,and the bed was super comfy! Theres an IGA and awesome pizza shop about a 5 minute drive away which was quite handy. This stay definitely exceeded our expectations, we will be back!

A wonderful home away from home. Ray and Gail were marvellous hosts and so accomodating and warm towards my partner, our 3 week old son and myself. We chose to stay at Ray's to escape the scorching heat of summer. The house was excellently air conditioned and had a ceiling fan as well which was heaven on those 40 degree days. The cooking facilities were excellent, we cooked all meals on the BBQ located just outside the back door and on the stove. It has every thing you need to self cater. The location is great, private with a view of the lake and close to a supermarket and restaurants. Overall we would highly recommend Ray and Gails place to any one and would most certainly be back if we ever needed an excellently priced getaway not to far away from home.

We thank Gail & Ray for their hospitality. We really enjoyed staying in such a clean and well appointed unit. It was a beautiful location overlooking the water. It was a pleasure to meet such interesting hosts. Communication was great and hosts ensured easy access. Ray and Gail went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Great place for a couple to stay in the Wangi area.

We found the accommodations provided by Barry and Sandra to be one of the best AirBnB's that we've stayed at in our travels. They welcomed us into their home, provided us with extensive information on attractions in and around the Newcastle area, and even provided a nice starter food package! They even got us ANZAC cookies to help celebrate the holiday. Their place is in a quite neighborhood that was a nice reprieve from the bigger cities. We would recommend staying with them to any of our friends heading to the Newcastle area.

This was a fabulous airbnb experience! Barry and Sandra were so welcoming and genuinely cheerful. The orientation was clear and informative. Information about the area was all set up and ready for visitors and very helpful if you are not familiar with the area. The unit is fantastic - exceptionally clean, airy and bright, and well set up with all conveniences. The towels were the fluffiest I've ever used! Barry and Sandra have thought of the little things that make your stay more personal - some basics for your first breakfast, bottled water, tea and coffee, soap and shampoo, and a lovely surprise of fresh, homemade muffins. The unit is situated in a beautiful area, very quiet and easy to find your way around. It is situated close to the lake which is perfect for long walks or jogging, and is also within a short drive from a good shopping centre with cafes and supermarket, and a short drive to a major shopping precinct. Barry and Sandra were available for answering questions and to assist us with extending our stay, but did not intrude on our stay in any way.

We had the most lovely stay at Barry and Sandra's place. It was close proximity to beaches, lake, Newcastle, hunter valley and their place was nicer than our own home. Barry and Sandra were so friendly, they made us so welcomed and went the extra step to look after our little girl. We loved having breakfasts all ready for us too. Definitely would stay here again if we come to this part of the town!

Hi, we arrived to be greeted by a lovely caring couple, the flat had everything we wanted, very clean, quite, secure, and comfortable, close to Warners Bay Private Hospital, 20 minutes from Newcastle, where we were fortunate enough to see whales for the first time. Lovely restaurants a short drive away.We also given a breakfast, snack package to get us started. I would definitely stay here again, thankyou Nola

This attached unit was small but comfortable, peaceful, modern, and fully equipped (including some food to get us started). A very nice little place only a short walk from the lake. I was there for surgery on my wisdom teeth, and the hospital was only 5 minutes drive away which was also very convenient. The hosts were great, very friendly and helpful while at the same time giving us plenty of privacy. The surprise delivery of a pot of home-made soup after my surgery was particularly lovely! :)

Was a beautiful townhouse that is clearly loved by its owner. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay with my 8mth old daughter. Was warned about the stairs which wasn't as bad as I expected but there are stairs! Communication was fantastic will most definitely be staying again :)

Close to amenities and a short drive to some of the central coast's most amazing water views and beaches. The place itself is super clean and modern (love the touch activated down lights), and fully kitted out with everything you'd need for a weekend away. Definitely would recommend!

Margaret was just wonderful from the very first contact. She gave us some great eating recommendations for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. Margaret's place is just amazing, the location was perfect for where we needed to be & also to shops & amazing restaurants. We also found the best thick hot chips !!!! It was lovely to leave the car at be in walking distance of everything. I wish we had more time to just relax at the beautiful flat but we will definitely be back

This was the perfect place for a relaxing little getaway. Conveniently located and everything you needed was in walking distance. The unit was much better than I expected. So close to the water with a choice of boat 2 ramps within a 1min walk. Walk a couple more minutes up the street and there is a choice of cafes, a pub, an RSL with the best views over the water from the beer garden or restaurant. Jenny has thought of all the little things; milk in the fridge along with an assortment of bread for toast and spreads. The bathroom was stocked with the little things you might forget. The little courtyard is the best spot to have yourself an afternoon drink and watch the boats come and go from the ramp.

LOVED our stay..! All the extra details / inclusions in bathroom and kitchen were special little touch :) so clean and attention to detail in the renovation. Terrific sleepy and serene location we would come again... Jenny was really helpful and communicative re checking in and out etc.

We had a fantastic break in the unit. It is near the lake and near everything. You don't need a car! except if you want food at 10pm like we did :( House is in immaculate conditions, all appliances and toiletries are new. Very cosy.

We were driving from Byron Bay to Sydney and this was the perfect stop over. Close to highway, private, excellent communication, very clean. It was close to the amazing vegan restaurant Bonta Vera. We were very happy.

Quiet and well stocked studio with very comfortable furniture. Attention to detail for providing an attentive stay was duly noted. We felt very looked after. Extra inclusions like shower toiletries, candles, a weekend paper, guidebooks and candles were super thoughtful and made the stay feel like home. Great location, great views and great space. Streamlined communication, helpful advice, friendly couple and seamlessness made the check in and out and overall experience excellent. Susan and Andrew were very helpful whilst providing maximum privacy. Highly recommend.

Our host, Susan, was absolutely lovely. We had the bottom half of the house to ourselves, and everything was as described in the description. The place was super cute and cosy, and very convenient in terms of location. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we were in the area again.

We really enjoyed staying at Susan & Andrews place. A spacious and tastefully decorated space including an outdoor entertainment area with bbq for entertaining visitors. It's is probably better to have a car as it is a bit far from the main precinct where the cafe and beaches are if that's your thing. Susan and Andrew have thought of everything it was like a home away from home. When it rained Andrew put up a clothes line under shelter before we even ask. Very grateful, thanks again.

We stayed here overnight as a stopover for our drive from Melbourne to Gold Coast with our pet Cavoodle. Was just as described and loved the small snacks available in the fridge and the dog water/food bowls waiting for us. Communication with the host was great and check in procedure was easy. Would have loved to have more time here to enjoy the scenery. If travelling without a car I'd imagine it would be difficult to get to but otherwise can't recommend highly enough! Craig was a great host who was there to welcome us into his home when we arrived and made us feel comfortable straight away. It was about 45 degrees celsius when we arrived in Cessnock. By the time we returned from a concert in the vineyards, the bedroom upstairs was cool enough to have a comfortable sleep! Suitable transport options were available so that we didn't have to drive to the concert. Breakfast included fresh fruit salad, home made yoghurt and great poached eggs and bacon. Delicious!

Craig's hospitality was spot on. Welcome and treat us warmly. Place is great and clean. Location is great. Lovely and healthy breakfast. Gave us a few great places to visit. Definitely 2 thumbs up.

Craig was a wonderful host with lots of inside knowledge of the area and especially the different Wineries in and around Hunter Valley. The room we stayed in had a nice bed and plenty of room for your packed things - Craig is quite the handy man, he made the frame of the bed himself like a lot of the other things in his house including his yoghurt, cheese and jams. We felt very welcome during our stay and had nice long talks with him. He even took the time to show us some wild life kangaroos and picked us up after our wine tastings in Hunter Valley. Overall a great stay and excellent company, thank you Craig! PS. The breakkie and the big cup of long black every morning was awesome!

We were felt really welcomed into Ali and Dennis' property. The communication in the lead up to the event, the recommendations on transport to our concert and then the help provided when we arrived was wonderful. The beds were lovely and comfy and a plentiful supply of breakfast was a nice addition. We'll certainly be back.

Ali's cottage was an ideal base for exploring the Hunter Valley, close to the wineries. It was spacious and comfortable and Alison had added lots of extra touches to make our stay more pleasant including a helpful information booklet. She was very friendly and left a lovely continental breakfast ready for us in the cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Staying with Daniel and Lyndal was a fantastic experience - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very welcome. Easy to find, great welcome and a lovely retro base for exploring the Hunter Valley. Great range f quirky decorations and some lovely touches. The food at Daniel's Restaurant was great and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever tasted.

We stayed at Daniels over the long weekend and it was a wonderful experience; the staff were friendly and attentive, the accommodation was clean, spacious and homely. The highlight however, was the food; Daniel is an extremely talented chef who provided a wonderful culinary experience. His dishes reflect his creativity and passion for food, I highly recommend the salmon and the coconut cream brûlée was sensational. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you Daniel and his team!!!

Wow, What Incredible Hosts! Plus, delicious food at Daniel's Restaurant!!! (back to that in a moment) I would like to personally thank Daniel and his lovely wife Lyndal for going out of their way to make our weekend extra special. We visited the Hunter to see the Bruce Springsteen concert over the weekend. We were devastated to arrive and find out that our 2 year old son could not attend the concert at Hope Estate. Apparently, the concert was 18+ only, but that wasn't advertised anywhere. Left to find an emergency babysitter at last minute, Daniel stepped in to assist and offered that his wife and mother in-law take care of our son, as they would have their three lovely kids for the night anyway. He then offered to drive us to and from the concert bus as there was a big storm rolling in. Honestly, the level of compassion and support we received was nothing short of amazing. With a busy restaurant to run, Daniel still found time to take care of us when ever we needed! Back to the restaurant … We decided to stay local on Friday night and ordered from Daniels ala carte menu. OMG … the rib eye steak was cooked to reflections and my wife absolutely loved her salmon dish. As experienced Sydney foodies, we were not expecting such delicious food, delivered to such a high standard. I highly recommend Daniel's Restaurant. Don't bother going anywhere else for dinner!! Seriously!! Thanks guys for making it such a perfect weekend …

Myself and 3 friends went up to the Hunter for a Day on the Green. Great, central location which is a quick bus ride into the Hunter. Accommodation was spacious, comfy and clean. Love the retro decor.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others visiting the region. The apartment was clean, had everything we needed and was close to all the wineries we wanted to visit. It was lovely and quiet and we were undisturbed during our visit. Daniel was easy to get in touch with and was very welcoming and even gave us some suggestions of places to visit in the region. Thanks Daniel for a lovely stay.

I stayed in Daniel's apartment with 2 friends for a weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is clean and is exactly as pictured and Daniel was a great host - very friendly and helpful! The restaurant next to the apartment had amazing food and it was extremely convenient to be right next to somewhere to eat when we didn't feel like driving. Overall, the apartment is great value and I would definitely recommend it. Thank you Daniel for a wonderful stay!

We had a great time staying at Sam's. Sam met up and was very kind, she showed us down to the room. The outside light didn't work, but we used our phones as torches. Otherwise we didn't see Sam or her family at all- we had a lot of privacy which was great! People walking upstairs echoed downstairs in the room and sounded quite loud, however we couldn't hear talking and it didn't sound like people were stomping or purposefully doing it. In all it was a great place and I'd definetly recommend it.

Staying at Sam's was brilliant! A perfect little getaway. We had such a relaxed and comfortable stay here, we really enjoyed the beautiful views and the great pool just outside our front door. Sam and her family were so welcoming and made us feel right at home but gave us privacy at the same time. The little touches really made this place worth the stay such as the fresh coffee and expresso machine, towels, soaps and our own little washing machine as well! Highly recommend a stay if you are looking for comfort, value and great location!

This place was splendid! Clean, quiet and everything that you needed to escape from the city. It is really close to Boat Shed Bar/Gallery which has nice food and life music. Sam was excellent and even had the heater and pool cleaner turned on for us before we arrived. Defs an excellent stay if you want to be near the beaches and a short drive to the Hunter Valley.

Great accommodation, offering all the amenities you will need as well as privacy. Sam would also enquire from time to time if I was comfortable and if I needed anything.

Comfortable accommodation. Could do with a bathroom renovation but still has what you need.

Our stay with Sam was lovely. The flat beneath the house has everything we needed with the small touches which made us feel very welcome. It was wonderful to watch the sun rise and set over the lake from Sam's backyard. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Melissa communicated well prior to our arrival and throughout and was very welcoming. The apartment is spic and span with comfortable, stylish furniture and a tasteful decor with nice, quirky touches. The modern facilities had everything you would need for a short stay. The apartment is attached to the house but is still private.

We had a lovely stay at Melissa's place. The apartment is attached to the main house via a breezeway(we had very little contact with the family unless we needed something, then Melissa there). The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Melissa was a wonderful host and provided a fabulous breakfast plus extra treats. The pool and air-conditioning were an added bonus due to the extreme heat. With a short 10 minute drive to Cessnock and a 15 minute drive to the wineries, it was the perfect location.

Fantastic place to stay and unwind. Also great location if you want to day trips to the winery's. All the little extra touches that Melissa puts around the place are a treat. We would definitely stay there again.

Melissa was very welcoming and friendly. The loft apartment is a really cool architectural design decorated with high quality fixtures and lots of little kitsch touches that showed she had put effort in to make it really nice. The pool is lovely. It is a relatively new listing so they are still working out what to put in it and are really open to feedback. They fix anything that is broken. For instance the bbq wasn't working properly when we arrived so they went and replaced it straight away. She even put Bob the Builder sheets on my son's mattress upstairs which he absolutely loved. We had a really lovely time and would heartily recommend Redgum Retreat to anyone.

Melissa and Jason were great hosts. Sadly we were only visiting for a short time but we will definitely come back next time we're in the area. We loved the comfort and space. We would definitely recommend it to friends. The lovely breakfast supplies, fruit, water, juice, Easter eggs & hot cross buns were a lovely and thoughtful addition. We really appreciated being able to come and go as we needed without disturbing anyone and the swimming pool looked very inviting although we didn't have enough time to try it out. Thanks for the welcome board and we hope to come back soon.

We had a great time. Melissa is friendly & helpful without getting in the way. Kids loved the pool - everyone loved the A/C (we were there during an "extreme heatwave").
