  • A location not to be missed. Exceptional natural setting. Just perfect apartment. Renato was super reactive, and had good advice. Just the best of BnB!

  • Perfect location, not too far to travel from the city but feels like a million miles away. The apartment is great, very spacious but also warm and cosy! The kitchen is well equipped and there's an added bonus of a separate utility room for wet clothes /boots if you get caught out in the wild Scottish weather (as we did!) Directions and details for arrival were clear and much appreciated!

  • Beautiful location and peaceful. We arrived late and left early with easy check in, wish we had more time to explore.

    Jeanne2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay we had a lovely time with our three boys, brilliant views would definitely recommend.

  • Fantastic stay at Carbeth House. Flat it’s self was immaculate, warm and welcoming, very homely. We slept exceptionally well. Renato was an excellent host, he is very welcoming and nothing was a bother for him. The views from Carbeth House were outstanding. We will definitely be returning in the near future, ideal location for a peaceful, rural get away. Wonderful little pub a mile down the road The Old Mill, it has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and friendly locals.

  • Wow! The photos and details on the site give you an idea what to expect, but the place is truly fantastic - you properly feel like you're living in a Lord's manor house, or similar. Tons of space, yet comfortable and well furnished throughout, our family had a great couple of days here. Only minor negative is the state of the driveway following the recent storms - make sure you travel in something a bit more robust than you might normally choose!

    Alex2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as we expected. Beautiful old building, great host, lovely location.

This is a traditional Scottish Bothy that dates from early 1700's.It is a self contained "wee house" that has been modernised. 1 double bed 1 sofa bed with shower/wc. No cooking facilities but tea /coffee provided. Breakfast provided by arrangement at a small additional charge.
Built around 1700 as a Drovers Bothy it has been refurbished and retains the upstairs loft which houses a double bed downstairs we have a double sofa bed. It is the only original Bothy of its type in the village and offers an insight as to how what living was like in the days of Outlander! Although there are a few more home comforts on offer now!
Kippen is a small village just 9 miles from Stirling and 12 miles from Loch Lomond with stunning views of the Trossachs. It is a fantastic location for walkers as well for mountain biking and road cycling. There is quality fishing nearby at the Lake of Menteith where the World Championships were held a few years back. Until the 1960's it was the home of the largest grapevine in the world! Kippen is currently listed in the Sunday Times top 20 villages in the UK to live... so you might want to stay! Kippen is blessed with two stunning award winning pub restaurants (URL HIDDEN) and the (URL HIDDEN) We have a hairdresser, post office / genral store/ butcher and deli/ coffee bar in the village. We also have craft brewery based at the old railway station called the Fallen Brewery.
  • This Bothy was our first (great) experience using BnB and a good start of our road trip. Everything was clean and Paul was there to welcome us. There was a nice little Pub in town as well.

  • Absolute gorgeous hidden gem. If you're looking for a beautiful retreat in a tiny wee bothy, this will do the trick!

    Jo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy Bothy in a friendly village with two splendid pubs. what else do you need. Myself and my brother had a brief stop over enroute from Skye to Edinburgh and had some fine local ale and loch lomond whisky at the cross keys pub. practically -all was as listed - Comfy bed and comfy sofa bed with nice bedlinen. the bed in the roof space has restricted height but is very cosy. There are no cooking facilities but a kettle and a fridge. and you can get a traditional breakfast with the hosts to sort you out for the day ahead and then supper in the village.(we did neither as we were off early in the morning so cannot give any review on that.) Be sure to read the directions to the Bothy as down a lane off one of the main roads and it is easier getting there in the daylight. (I didn't and then couldn't get a signal for contact details so just had to go to the shop and ask in there. ) The shop and the two pubs are nearby and the shop stays open till 7pm . There is no real signal downstairs in the Bothy but there is up the stairs where the bed is. & no tv but board games and books to read. .. a good spot for exploring the area.

    Elise2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little house very close to the centre of the village. Paul was great and on hand to help, lots of guides and maps in the house for local walks and opening times for the pubs and cafe. Would definitely recommend.

    Laura2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and quiet, very warm, close to local pubs and walks.

  • Great little place to stay in a lovely village! We were only stopping off for a night on our way further north but would love to come back and explore this area further, would definitely stay in the bothy again. Delicious breakfast and very friendly and helpful hosts. The Cross Keys is a fantastic little pub and everyone is very dog friendly!

  • To think that this magical gem of a hideway is only 50 minutes from Glasgow (the city where we live) is unbelievable. The cottage is cosy and 5 star luxury. The hot tub nestled amongst the trees overlooking the river is perfect. We came in mid winter and the fairy lights and fire made it feel like Spring! Helen and her family are incredible hosts, warm and friendly and we even were offered a horse riding lesson. Thank you thank you! We will be back. An amazing stay.

    Ruth2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an extremely relaxing three nights away at Helen's place and we would definitely go back.

    Jim2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the perfect stay at Helens Cottage. Autumn was definitely a beautiful time to visit with all the orange leaves. I would absolutely love to go back. The beautiful surroundings and with the games room and hot tub would make it the perfect retreat to go to with a bunch of friends also.

    Fiona2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay- exceptional hospitality and amazing facilities- spent most of the weekend either in the hot-tub or games room!

  • Absolutely beautiful people (and animals) in a beautiful location. We loved it! Collecting conkers, playing in the hot tub and feeding the ponies apples. Lots of fabulous sight seeing so close by, the location is super! So peaceful but so close to the town for shopping and visits. We would definitely stay here again.

  • The stay was just perfect: In a lovely village, free parking in front of the door, attentive hosts, everything was extremely clean and also beautifully decorated. We hope to come again in the future.

    Tim Luis2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Sidings is a beautiful, warm and cosy place, that’s had a lot of thought and attention put into it. Kayt and David’s communication was excellent and there were a lot of nice touches such as the milk and bread, the draw full of useful items and the many books on Scotland. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The view from the back is stunning, and regardless of the weather it’s very relaxing to watch the scenery with a good book. Fintry is a very nice village with a welcoming and friendly inn just across the road. There are some lovely walks nearby and lots to do within a short drive. The awesome Loup of Fintry waterfall is just a couple of miles away, well worth a visit even in the middle of Storm Ciara! I’d have no hesitation in recommending the Sidings for any length of stay.

    Amy2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. Loved the well designed, railway themed apartment. Fantastic garden, enjoyed by us (especially our daughter) and also home to red squirrels and bats.

    Sam2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kayt and David were the perfect hosts of this charming, modern and cosy apartment. The space itself is wonderful, the large windows mean you can take in the astounding view and they included everything to make us feel at home. The best part are the humerous touches around the apartment and the warm cosy fire. Communication was also above and beyond. A faultless experience, can't wait to return!

    Julian2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Absolutely loved it. The house was beautiful and couldn’t have asked for anything better!

    Beth2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with stunning views of the gardens and mountains in the distance.

    Emily2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is more than a 5star hotel room. Kayt’s attention to every detail in the house is mesmerising . It has the perfect blend of thoughtful modern architecture. We regret that we just booked this place for 2 days. This place rejuvenates your soul.

  • This place is one of our favs so far. It has everything you could think of and the decor is out of this world. 5 stars all round. Couldn't fault it any way. A real luxury stay in a quaint little area.

Our home is a beautiful extended cottage with frankly outstanding views and set within a lovely garden, just over a mile outside the idyllic village of Fintry towards Kippen. Our place is nestled in the shadow of the Campsie Hills. You’ll love our place because of the views and we're ideal for couples and solo adventurers. We're also ideally located for the popular wedding venues of Culcreuch Castle and The Tin Shed at Knochraich Farm
A spacious double bedroom with lovely quiet views over the fields. The double bedroom is part of a lovely extended cottage, built in a traditional style and with views that are simply glorious. The bedroom includes use of a double mirrored wardrobe and a private shower room with toilet, shower and sink. This is located directly next door to the bedroom. A travel cot can also be provided should this be needed.
Fintry sits at the foothills of the Campsie Fells. It is approximately 5 miles east of the popular villages of Killearn and Balfron. It is one of the first communities in Scotland moving towards energy self-sufficiency and the village has its own wind turbine. The village is a welcoming community and has a local shop, sports centre, a pub and cafe. The Endrick Water runs through its centre and the surrounding countryside is stunning. Despite the tranquillity of its rural idyll, the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh can be reached within an hour by car with Stirling only half an hour away.

  • This place is beautiful, so tranquil and such a great location in the hills. We enjoyed a lovely "off the beaten track" walk and a superb meal at the Fintry Inn before heading to Victoria and Richard's. They were really welcoming and the room is lovely. Just what you need for an escape to the country. Everything is sparkling clean and the house is very thoughtfully decorated. We really enjoyed our stay and a leisurely breakfast. Thank you.

    Helen And Ed2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is wonderful, with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Inside the decor is lovely, our private room was clean and cosy. Our welcome couldn't have been warmer, being made a cup of tea on arrival and the hospitality throughout our stay couldn't have been better. Our hosts Victoria and Richard were lovely, they more than looked after us and gave us tips for future vists, thier son Alistair was adorable. Me and my partner couldn't recommended this place enough! Even if it's out of your way it's worth it and at only around £60 it's a bargain as well.

    Robert2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Victoria's place. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and we were very comfortable. The location was ideal for attending a wedding nearby and would be a great hub for exploring the area further.

  • Amazing location, spotless accommodation and a very comfortable bed. The cafe in the courtyard was also good for a quick bite to eat, breakfast or lunch. I'd recommend this place highly.

  • Helena’s place is great! We had the best time, quiet sleep and beautiful views all topped off by a super delicious and fresh breakfast from the adjacent cafe. Knockraich farm is a sanctuary!

    Steffie2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly magical stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our break. Wonderful food at the Courtyard Cafe. ALL staff were always smiling and attentive. A special mention to Ingrid in the cafe. She’s a just a wee ray of sunshine and clearly loves her job. See you all again!

    Gary2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for either as a touring stop or as a base for colouring the region. The apartment is tastefully decorated with items from the interior design business below. It was very clean and tidy with a kitchen dining room and good sized bedroom. Helena also thoughtfully left a bottle of milk and butter from the farm in the fridge. The area is very quiet (apart from the early morning cows which are a delightful reminder that this is a diversified working farm) The Courtyard Cafe serves an amazing breakfast with milk, yoghurt and butter from the farm. The jams are also delicious. If you don’t want to cook, it is a 15minute walk into the village where the local pub serves good quality food and locally brewed beer. The photographs of the apartments are accurate and up to date.

  • We stayed at The loft for two nights. It was a much bigger space than expected and was beautifully decorated throughout. We looked forward to coming in from the cold walks to chill in the cosy and peaceful space. Naomi left us a great selection for continental breakfast each morning which was much appreciated - with excellent coffee too! She was a brilliant host and the loft was absolutely spotless throughout. Would 100% return and recommend to anyone!

  • Beautiful house, great location, sparkling clean, with lovely attention to detail - like crystal wine and water glasses in the rooms and toiletries in the bathroom. Dru, the host is very accommodating and even gave me an upgrade because I had a dog with me! The handy Blane Valley Inn does a fantastic mouthwatering shin of beef, and is also dog-friendly. A lovely and re-visitable place overall!

  • I loved the house and the room and would recommend it to any weary traveller. When I arrived Theresa was out and her husband Andrew was fine but he did seem very vague when showing me the room. After surreptitiously moving a rug to cover a stain on the carpet he spotted a hole in the wall which was made by the moving of a picture. "My man will be up straight away to fix that". This was quite funny really. There was something else that he noticed that his 'man' would come and rectify immediately. I got an exclusive bathroom which I ended up sharing with a guy, although someone left a pair of ladies knickers hanging from the shower controls. Still it was a bit like I was in a sketch for Fawlty Towers with John Cleese or the Fast Show with Lord Ralph Mayhew. The only thing I did feel was missing was information in the room about the self service breakfast. Overall I loved it and would certainly stay again.

A beautiful victorian house on the edge of a lovely village amid the stunning countryside of the Trossachs near Loch Lomond. The guest room is a large family sized room with DVDs and books, maps etc and desk. Bright and cheerful decor and views of the countryside from every window. Tea and coffee making facilities. A continental breakfast will be served in the morning including homemade sourdough bread and jams!... Solo travellers and well behaved dogs are welcome.
This is a large upper flat with shared bathroom and living area. Arty and colourful would be an accurate description of this interesting and homely house. There's also a lovely big garden to play in or eat outside. Please be aware that I am a light smoker and will smoke in my rooms occasionally. The house is well ventilated so this hopefully won't affect your stay here.
In the village there is a traditional pub/ restaurant grocery shop and Tandoori take away food shop plus a gorgeous Pottery and Coffee shop.... well worth a look! This is a beautiful area for walking, cycling or generally enjoying the countryside. With Loch Lomond and The Trossachs on our doorstep. Very central for visiting cities like Stirling (20 minutes by car) Glasgow (40mins) Edinburgh and Perth only an hours drive away. Likewise Glw and Edinburgh airport less than an hour away. Public transport via buses from all Stirling to Glasgow goes through the village regularly.
  • Perfect for a jumping off point to discover beautiful Scotland. Alison was the best host, nothing was a fuss and she had all the local information you could ever want as a life long Artist and local shop owner, she made me feel at home in the stunning misty Scottish hills. Would highly recommend

  • I spent two weeks in Scotland driving around and staying at different places. But Alison’s is the best by a large margin. I loved the artsy vibe of the place. Alison made me feel at home and I loved the furry friends Matty and Scouts. Alison is the best conversationalist, you could talk about anything under the sun with her. I’m definitely going back.

The Strath in Killearn is a delightful country home. The cosy seating area with wood burning stove opens into the kitchen and dining area. A large lounge with original fireplace is accessed through double doors. The kitchen doors provide access to the garden area, sheltered by surrounding trees. The two available comfortable double bedrooms upstairs provide views across the hills and countryside. A bathroom with bath and shower upstairs is complimented by the additional bathroom downstairs.
A beautiful family home with a cosy and modern interior. Sitting in a quiet part of the village down a wee lane, surrounded by its own pretty garden with private parking. Walking distance to the local Church and Village Hall. Only a few minutes walk into the centre of the village and with a 30 minute drive to Glasgow and Stirling. The house was renovated a few years ago and has a relaxing decor with an open plan downstairs. It has a well equipped kitchen and log burner with a couple of settees, one of which makes into a double bed. Leading into a lounge with the tv, open fire and two big comfy settees. Two double bedrooms are available and a modern bathroom with bath and over bath shower. A utility room with a washing machine and hanger dryer is available. And use of all bedlinen and towels is included in the price.
Killearn is a beautiful, pretty village, not too far from Glasgow or Stirling, and about 40 minutes from Glasgow airport. The surrounding countryside provides many things to do, walking from the house is very easy and you are soon off the main roads. The village is near to The Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park. Providing a wide range of outdoor activities! Glasgow is in reach and provides an incredible amount of theatres, galleries and places to visit...Edinburgh can be reached in about 1.5 hours. There is a Co Op about 400 yards from the house, out of the lane and turn left on the village road, past the pub on the left and follow the road down. It’s on the right hand side. The nearest train station is in Milngavie, about 20/25 mins drive from the house. Trains go into Glasgow and through to Edinburgh.
  • The Strath is a great place to base yourself if you are visiting Loch Lomond or Stirling. It is a comfortable house where you can feel at home straight away.

  • We had an amazing stay! It's like home away from home. The house were fantastic, relaxing and it had everything that we need. This has been our best Airbnb experience. The house is clean with complete amenities. The open fireplace was gorgeous, my wife loved it. We did a lot of activities nearby for our 7-day stay, like Glengoyne Distillery, Doune & Balloch Castle, Loch Lomond Trossachs National Park and trip to nearby lakes and rivers. We tried The Old Mill Inn and the food were great! Everyone were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary a very special one. We'll definitely recommend your place and hope to go back soon. Cheers!

  • We loved staying in this rather grand comfortable family house. The house is well equipped with a particularly great kitchen and dining area, there are also cosy areas to sit- a fabulous front room with a big TV. The house is exactly as described in the photos. The location is brilliant- so much stunning scenery, Loch Lomand is near, we drove around it, and visited Luss and several viewing points- as recommended by the v helpful local information office in Balloch. The bedrooms are comfy with nice beds. There are stacks of books, and some lovely family mementoes around. It’s feels very much like a home from home. We would stay again as we loved it, and we would like to see more of the local landscape. We came for a wedding taking place in Killearn town hall- (which incidentally is a great venue). In addition communication with Shona was great and quick. (The Old Mill in the village is a lovely pub/ restaurant but you may need to book, we also had pancakes at The 3 sisters and bought croissants from the deli/ wine shop at the side of the pub- Hewitt & Aker. A well equipped village.)

    Rebecca2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time booking with airbnb, so was apprehensive. But Shona, your house was perfect. Absolutely everything I could have hoped for and more. Amazing garden, spacious dining kitchen, comfy bedrooms, stunning staircase and cozy wood burner to end the night. Shona was great at keeping in touch and we really felt at home.

  • This listing is for a proper home, which is a lovely change from so many Airbnbs that are clearly not real living spaces. It was such a treat to settle in to a place that was well-equipped and cosy. The location is great for exploring the area and the local pub is fantastic. Thanks, Shona!

  • Helen’s place is well situated in a quiet cul-de-sac only half an hour (or less) from the centre of Glasgow . The annex is spacious, clean and modern and nicely decorated. Although there’s no built-in oven or hob, the mini oven, microwave and electric 2 ring hob were more than adequate for preparing meals. The kitchen space is well thought out and there’s a table and chairs you can eat meals at. The bedroom is has good storage and lighting and French doors onto a garden area. There is parking right outside the door. This is a tasteful and well -equipped space for visiting the Glasgow area and Hellen and a Jim were extremely helpful when we had a difficult situation.

  • Hellen’s place a lovely little home away from home. It was ideal for us visiting our daughter at Glasgow Vet School & somewhere we could take our dog too. The house is beautifully decorated & well equipped for our stay. Hellen & Jim provided some lovely little personal touches to make our stay more comfortable & were on hand to answer any questions or give useful information about the area. They recommended the local hotel for a meal & we went along. It was really nice & the food was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Hellen’s place.

  • Lovely accomodation with everything we could need for our stay. Betty made sure the room was suitable for our two year old with travel cot and toys. The room itself had nice touches, including milk and shortbread which was perfect after a day of walking; it was warm and clean, beds were very comfy and the views were very impressive. We opted to have breakfast in the morning, and we are so glad we did as Betty made sure we were all well fed and looked after. Would definitely stay here again in the future! Thank you very much Betty.

And the Scottish breakfast is excellent. We were in family. With our two teens and our baby. She even lent games to the baby. I recommend you take a ride on Betty's side. A big thank you to her.

Cosy log cabins beside the Lake of Menteith THE SPACE Bedrooms 2 Sleeps 4 Bathrooms 1 Free WiFi, not suitable for streaming Bluetooth speaker
DESCRIPTION We have 10 Log Cabins forming a pretty crescent parallel to the shore, roughly 75 meters back from the water. This ensures that once in your cabin, the view from the large, glass sliding-doors is filled entirely with lawn, trees and lake – rather than the back of another cabin. All Log Cabins are separated by a trellis and flower beds around a paved patio with outdoor seating – perfect for that first cup of coffee as the sun hits the lake, or for long summer evenings watching the sun sink over the Menteith Hills. KITCHEN All Log Cabins have views from the kitchen towards the lake, and are supplied with a full-sized cooker with hob grill and oven, a fridge with freezer box, a microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, scales, and all the utensils you need. Click here for a full inventory. LIVING / DINING AREA The living/dining area in the Log Cabins is all open-plan, with leather sofas, large flat-screen TV, DVD player, Anker Bluetooth speaker and electric stove heater. Dining tables are right beside large, glass sliding doors, with some of the best breakfast views of any holiday accommodation in the Trossachs! Ducks are always on hand to help you with any leftovers. BEDROOMS All Log Cabins sleep 4 in a double room and a twin room. In addition, two of the cabins also have double futons in the living area, and are therefore equipped for 6 (though 4 is the more comfortable party size). Beds are made up with fresh linen for your arrival. BATHROOMS Log Cabins all have a shower/bath with curved glass screen and Power Shower. PARKING There is space for 1 car at the back of each Log Cabin. LAUNDRY Our Log Cabins share a communal laundry, situated beside the washing line at the back of the Games Room. The Lake of Menteith is the ONLY lake in Scotland (all other inland waters are called Lochs). Menteith is on the highland fault line so the landscape is a unique mixture of highland and lowland. Most lochs are the waters between 2 mountains. The Lake of Menteith has mountains to the north and flat carse land to the south.

  • What a find! Short stay in No 10 log cabin which was warm, comfortable and met all our requirements. The cabin was very clean and neat, kitchen & bathroom well equipped and the bed very comfortable. I attended the Nick Nairn Cook School (50 mtr stroll away) whilst my husband drove over to join me for the couple of nights booked. Plenty to see and do in this beautiful part of Scotland, our only regret was not spending longer on this trip. On a positive note, having found this wee gem, we’ll return for longer next time and make the most of the facilities and the stunning surrounding countryside. Thanks Victoria for being so welcoming and accommodating!

  • My parents had to change the date of their holiday and Christopher was great at accommodating our new plans, regardless of difficulties expected with rebooking on airbnb system. The lodge was just as expected and served as a great base for a few days in Trossachs.

  • Lochend Chalets is a hidden gem! We stayed 2 nights in the Log Cabin. It was spacious, very clean with a gorgeous view of the lake from the dining area. Convenient location 20 minutes from Callander, set just by the lake admist rolling farms. Weather on the 1st day was gorgeous and we had the most amazing evening sipping wine by the lake watching the sunset. The kitchen was fully equipped and it was easy to whip up dinner and relax withn bottle of wine. We would love to return sometime soon with the family. We highly recommend Lochend Chalets!

  • Superb bed (a must for me), 50 yards from the lake with stunning scenery and all we wanted for a perfect trip. We’d highly recommend this place. Topher and Chris were very welcoming and then left us to ourselves. We wanted for nothing when there. A cute pizzeria on site and the lake hotel is a must for an early sunset dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

  • If you are looking for the ‘perfect’ getaway to spend time with your loved one and have the most peaceful, luxurious and cool stay then forget about any swanky hotels because this is by far superior!! The quirky, comfortable, spotlessly clean and so delicately and lovingly decorated hut, will not disappoint even the hardiest of sceptics, Lorna and her husband were so friendly, can’t fault their hospitality. Honestly if anybody is viewing this property don’t skip past, book book book it... you won’t be disappointed...ps..there was an array of goodies on our arrival as others have noted, the list is endless, so just look forward to all those extra ‘surprises’ I hope one day we will return!!

  • Having read the previous glowing reviews, we thought that nowhere could be that good...… How wrong we were! It was truly one of the best places we have ever stayed. Every little thing is so well thought through and everything you could possibly need is there. Having stayed at a lot of 'cabins' throughout Scotland, we had taken a stock of things that places are usually lacking, but ended up not using any of them!! The cupboards are well stocked with all of your staples, and the welcome hamper is jam packed with goodies. The hut itself is beautifully decorated, and feels like a home from home. Although the Scottish weather wasn't overly kind to us, we still managed to use both the amazing pizza oven and chill in the hot tub (in the rain!) We can't wait to return, hopefully when the weather is a little better, to fully enjoy the outdoor space. If you are thinking of booking, just do it. You won't regret it!

  • A wonderful place to spend a weekend away. Lorna and her husband really put the effort in to make you feel welcome and enjoy your time there and it shows. The place was furnished with personal touches for my girlfriends birthday and we had a wonderful time there. Highlights included cooking our own pizzas in the pizza oven, feeding the hens and cats treats, going on long walks in the surrounding countryside. We had a great time. The most plentiful welcome pack we have ever encountered in a place we are staying.

  • We had an amazing time here even during stormy weather. This is an ideal escape and their thoughtfulness is outstanding from homemade lemon drizzle cake to their hens eggs in their welcome basket of goodies. We will come again in future !

  • What can we say! We can’t rate this place high enough! We have had an unbelievable stay, it was literally faultless. Lorna and Ray are amazing, warm, friendly hosts, who have thought of everything you could possibly need (including the best welcome hamper ever and lots of other personal touches!) The Shepherds Hut so incredibly cozy. During our stay there was quite a bad storm, but we honestly couldn’t think of a better way to spend a storm than tucked up in the Shepherds hut with the log burner on. It has beautiful views which we enjoyed from the hot tub and each morning we woke to some friendly sheep neighbours in a nearby field. Pizza fans will love their wood burning pizza oven... ours was delicious! We would 100% recommend The Poachers Hut....honestly you will love it! We can’t wait to return.

    Louise2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepard’s Hut is an amazing experience not to be missed! The whole experience was unbelievable from start to finish, the hut itself is beautiful, the location is great, the hosts are fab and all the extra touches are so special. I really hope to visit again soon.

  • The Poachers Hut is an idyllic wee place for a get away. Everything is so well thought through so the small space doesn’t feel at all cramped. It was sparkling clean and super comfortable. The thoughtful extra touches from Lorna and Ray we’re just lovely and made it all feel extra special!

  • Moreen’s place is very much as advertised: a tranquil get-away, with great access to the Trossachs National Park and a fantastic view. The flat is stylishly designed and furnished; extremely light, warm and very comfortable. Bathroom, bed and galley kitchen are all lovely, as is the comfortable seating area with view. Everything was sparkling clean, and Moreen had left a variety of cooking essentials plus lots of books, dvds, etc.

    Mike2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Moreen’s studio is delightful with a view that is second to none. The studio is well equipped and as others have said the bed is delightful. Moreen also left us a little welcome bottle of Prosecco which was lush.

    Alicia2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • One of our most enjoyable stays in an Airbnb listed lodgings, and such lovey owners. So many thoughtful touches like Prosecco in the fridge, DVDs, fully fitted kitchen, lots of reading material, fantastic bed and shower, and of course that wonderful view. Couldn’t have asked for more, this accommodation comes highly recommended. I’m sure we’ll be back for another child-free long weekend!

So well designed as a studio for two/small family with many stylish, thoughtful touches throughout - big blankets for cosy evenings and the comfiest bed EVER! Very quiet at night and a bonus telescope for stargazing through the huge window. Perfect! We slept so well there and will be back.

Once upon a glen, there was a house. A house where people meet, mingle and muse. Where parties are planned, children play and vows are made. Where there is a constant rush of water mixed with music, laughter and the clinking of glasses. A gateway to Glasgow and the Highlands, that house is Finglen House. A warm Scottish welcome awaits you, relax, unwind, and find the space to be yourself.
Finglen House Bed and Breakfast is perfectly situated for anybody who wants to explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and the surrounding area as well as further afield to Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs were recently designated a national park and another 30 min drive will take you to some of the finest scenery in Scotland. If you’re feeling energetic take the West highland Way; a long distance footpath of 90 miles from Glasgow to Fort William or enjoy the many way marked walks along the shores of the Loch. For steam enthusiasts the Walter Scott steamship runs regularly on Loch Katrine during the Summer. The city of Glasgow is only a 30 min drive away and if you don’t want to drive, an express bus will take you from the end of our drive to the city centre. Known as the second city of the Empire Glasgow has so much to offer. Admire the work of Glasgow’s great architect Charles Rennie MacIntosh and the lesser known “Greek” Thomson. The magnificent Glasgow school of Art is rising from the ashes after a devastating fire and you only have to turn the corner to view Thomson’s masterpiece now housing the Centre for Contemporary Art. Visit the transport Museum in Zaha Hadid’s strikingly modern design. Inside you will be transported back to Glasgow’s industrialised past and even be able to stroll down a genuine 1920’s street. Glasgow is home to three National companies; Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera and The National Theatre of Scotland as well as numerous other theatres and music venues; enough to satisfy the most avid culture vulture. Walk through the vibrant area of Finniston and take your pick of the finest Scottish restaurants or cuisine from around the world. Edinburgh is 50 min drive and there is also a park and ride facility nearby at Croy (8 miles). Edinburgh is not only famous for the Edinburgh festival but has the deserved reputation of being on of the easiest cities in the world to explore on foot. Walk out of Waverley station in the very heart of the city and lift your eyes to the castle which dominates the skyline with the classical facade of the National gallery just below. from here it is an easy walk to the medieval Royal Mile and the Georgian splendour of the New Town. Cycle tracks, golf courses and pony trekking are all available within a short of Finglen Bed and Breakfast. The John Muir Way crosses the country from Helensburgh in the West to Dunbar in the East and is 134 miles long. The trail is way marked and maintained and is suitable for both cyclists and walkers. You can even ride your horse along sections and the trail runs right past the end of our drive! You can also walk or cycle from Finglen House to either Glasgow or Edinburgh all off road. The majority of this route is along the restored Forth and Clyde canal.

  • Had a lovely time here, I'd definitely recommend it to any travellers. The grounds are beautiful with a river and plenty of space to sit and enjoy looking at the countryside. It's very quiet and a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside, roughly half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Sabrina was a very good host, breakfast was of a high standard (both the cooked breakfast and the help yourself items) in a very nicely presented room. There's a sitting room with very comfortable couches too if you don't like being outside. The bedroom was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable, all in all a very good find.

    Adrian2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulously cosy shabby/ chic house in a beautiful setting. The bed was superb with lovely crisp white bedding . Breakfast was a treat with home made muesli and wild raspberries picked from the local wood! Sabrina was away so we were looked after by her very charming husband Douglas who couldn't have been more attentive and helpful.

Where there is a constant rush of water mixed with music, laughter and the clinking of glasses. A gateway to Glasgow and the Highlands, that house is Finglen House. Escape to, the low-key luxury country house. A place where many things come together. A warm Scottish welcome awaits you at Finglen: relax, unwind, and find the space to be yourself.
The beautiful nine acre garden and woodland gives a feeling of complete seclusion, rare for a property so close to Glasgow. Finglen enjoys an idyllic setting bordered on one side by the Fin Burn; home to herons, dippers, grey wagtail and mallard, and on the other by mature woodland. Finglen provides an excellent base for expeditions to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling or for exploring and experiencing the sublime beauty of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Douglas works as a documentary cameraman and has travelled extensively in Scotland and is happy to give advice on expeditions further afield.
We can walk out of the door onto the hills for up to eight hours or explore, Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Stirling all within easy reach
  • Warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings and fantastic breakfast

  • Sabrina and Douglas, were very helpful since our first contact over the phone. They were happy to help even when we informed them that we will arrive later than the indicative time for checking. Sabrina showed me all the best routes for running around the area and later the same morning took my 2 year old and collected eggs from her chickens. Spotless house and magic souroundings. We will definitely visit again

  • Sabrina's place is a rare find. If you are looking for a fantastic location to relax in or to do beautiful walks, climbing or cycling holidays in Scotland you really can't go past Sabrina's beautiful home. It is awesome!! Quiet, stunning gardens with an extensive Woodland Walk and Watercourse Finglen House is very private. It is also in an excellent location with easy travelling distance to Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh. All this, with a delicious breakfast to start your day with!! Sabrina and all her family are so welcoming you will be in for a treat with memories that you will treasure forever. A beautiful bedroom with very comfortable bed plus the sitting room with a log fire and spacious lounge Sabrina's home is a wonderful place to relax after a day out. Great restaurants nearby and Sabrina has so much knowledge of the area that places to go and things to see are easily shared with her guests. I cannot recommend Sabrina's beautiful BnB any more highly - it is a wonderful experience to find such tranquility in todays busy world. Thank you Sabrina, I had the best of times.

  • Oh my goodness. Where to start? Finglen House is a paradise, uniquely and perfectly situated for all your lowland needs. It is nestled back in the hills above the road, and very easy to find. I was blown away by its loveliness, a green sunny spot at the end of a long tree-tunneled drive. Sabrina and her husband are consummate hosts: it felt as if we were family right from the start. We had a great couple of days there, with the deer and their dappled little fawns cropping the lawn every morning, and the guinea fowl prowling the flowerbeds. Sabrina was out and about for much of our stay, but we never felt ignored, just trusted and welcomed. When she was home, we cozied up with a dram and swapped stories in the kitchen, in front of her red Aga, always kept warm. The room itself, in a corner of this 250-year-old house, is a lovely study in restful whites. The bath is right next to the room, so you don't have to go far. The corner windows get great light and pretty views over the back gardens. Sabrina is an artist, and her paintings adorn the house in several places. Perusing the walls was really fun, trying to guess which were hers. I will be back, with my husband in tow, to explore the area further, and to see Sabrina again. Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Trossachs, Loch Lomond, Luss, and a world-class distillery, Glengoyne, are all within a few minutes' drive. There's plenty in the near countryside to hold Caledonophiles captive for many days.

Great friendly cats and other numerous animals about the property give this home a very lovely feel. There's a great view of the mountains and the sweetest local bar just down the road. 5 stars.

    Jeffrey2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were at Beccy’s place for such a short time, yet it truly enriched our experience in Scotland. She gave magical recommendations for our evening in Gartmore and for the rest our trip! The room was immensely cozy and Beccy shared a proper breakfast in morning! The property was beautiful with breathtaking views of the Trossachs. Beccy was so kind and we had great conversation! We would definitely stay again in the future!

    Mandy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A place not to be missed! Outstanding locations with breathtaking views of the Trossachs. Beccy's welcome is perfect. Dedicated to her animals, it is a very relaxing and very quiet place. If you can go for a walk in the pub of the village, the inhabitants cut themselves in 4 for you and are pampered! We have more than enjoyed this place, do not miss it if you pass in the area!

  • Perfect location for exploring the area of Loch Lomond/ Stirling. Beccy and David are great hosts and pleasant to talk with. Beccy gave us some great recommendations to do and for dinner. Lovely breakfast. It's a big room with a great view, so perfect die staying with a baby.

  • Beccy's place is exceptional, definitely one of the most breathtaking places we have ever been with Airbnb. A true gem in the Scottish countryside, surrounded by nature and peace. The room is very large and full of character, the bed huge and super comfy. Breakfast delicious. Beccy is a kind, friendly and attentive host and she can give lots of very good advice on where to go and what to do to make the most of your stay. Definitely highly recommended!

    Ambra2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location, best breakfast, big and clean room. In one word: FANTASTIC. If you are visiting Scotland by car, this B&B is a must-do. Beccy and her family are the best: very kind, easy to talk to and very good hosts. In the evening we were able to enjoy the sky with the million stars. The place is so quite you can only here the cat purring along your legs. We even saw a deer! The way to the house is a little bumpy but if you take the time, it is easy to do. The GPS on our phone gave great directions and we found the house immediatly. You can park the car very easily and the garden is huge. The funny sheep say 'hi' when you pass them and the chicks come and talk to you in the morning. The cottage is totally worth the money (maybe even too cheap for what you get?). We were only here for one night, and regret it already. We'll be back!

Nice double bedroom located at the front of the house, furnished with King-sized bed, bed-side tables and wall-mounted TV. Separate bathroom for guest use. Large kitchen and dining area which is available to heat food and make tea and coffee (tea and coffee provided). Fruit, cereal, bread/toast, butter and jam are provided for breakfast. You are free to make use of our living-room and our garden. Our aim is that you have a comfortable and relaxing stay with us.
We are located in Cauldhame on the edge of Kippen village near the Trossachs National Park. This is an excellent area for walking with several hills to climb, large, medium or small. The views are wonderful. The road through Kippen is popular with road cyclists and there are challenging routes from our doorstep for the more experienced cyclist. For those who prefer a more leisurely cycle there are quiet country lanes or woodland trails not too far away. Stirling is 10 miles away, Edinburgh 48 miles and Glasgow 38 miles, making this an ideal base from which to explore these great cities. Loch Lomond is 20 miles away and a 45 minute walk up Conic Hill in Balmaha offers amazing views across this beautiful loch and the surrounding countryside. Many of our guests find us the ideal stopover on their way to/from Fort William (2 hours drive) or the Isle of Skye (4 - 5 hours drive). There are regular sailings throughout the year on Loch Katrine (27 miles/50 minutes drive), where you have the option of sailing in one direction and cycling in the other along the shores of the Loch (bicycles can be hired at Loch Katrine). Other attractions in the area are Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, the Battle of Bannockburn Heritage Centre, Doune Castle (10 minutes drive), Go Ape outdoor adventure centre (Aberfoyle - 40 minutes drive), Blair Drummond Safari Park (10 minutes drive) or one of the local distilleries. In Kippen we have two good local pubs (10 minute walk), which provide a friendly welcome and serve local craft ales and great food (last orders for food 8.45pm). There are also pubs serving food in Gargunnock (5 miles drive) and Fintry (15 minutes drive). A local food store (with post office) and cafe are also available in Kippen during the day. Whether you are a cyclist, a walker or exploring Scotland by car, we will offer you a warm and comfortable welcome.
We love walking and cycling and our location is perfect for both. The area is popular with road cyclists who enjoy the mixture of hills and long flat stretches, interspersed with great cafes along the way. We are close to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow and well placed to take full advantage of all that these great cities and their surrounding areas have to offer.

  • We had a great weekend here! Check-in was very easy, the location is absolutely stunning with great views and a great base to explore the area! The apartment was clean and warm and had everything we needed! Comfy bed, good facilities. We cooked in both nights and enjoyed the log burning stove! Communication was great. The hot tub was a real treat too! With stunning views! Would 100% recommend staying here and I hope we will be back!

  • Warm, cosy and very comfortable cottage with log burner and central heating. Comfortable bed and cooking facilities for self catering and a dishwasher as well. Pool and hot tub are very good, waterproof shoes are recommended for when making your way back to the cottage as the ground can be a bit muddy and stony. Had a great stay here and would highly recommend.

  • Wish we'd booked a few more nights! Loved our stay here and hope to be back soon, thanks again Rosie and Dave!

    Jack2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft was much better then we ever imagined. The house is well equipped with everything we needed I the kitchen and we loved the little touches such as the bottle of fizz and flapjack on arrival. The living room space is larger and nicer then we thought with a flat screen tv and blu Ray/dvd player and lots of films to watch (the photos don’t do it justice). The best feature for us was the swimming pool and hot tub. We took our 6 month old daughter so we took it in turns to go in the hot tub but it was so relaxing at night time. The pool was small but perfect as you can change the setting to allow a current so ku can swim against it. The only thing we struggled with was driving along the uneven track to the property but we have a low car so we didn’t want to be travelling on it in the dark. Other then that we moved our little get away and did lots of sightseeing as well as visiting the near by safari park in Blair Drummond

    Rebecca2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, comfy cottage in a quiet area. Thoughtful touches from host who was very quick at responding. The hot tub was fantastic to relax after a long day of walking. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a place around Loch Lomond

    Andrew2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie is warm friendly and helpful. The steading was clean and tidy and we had everything we needed. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Would highly recommend visiting.

    Liza2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at The Steading, lovely cottage in a quiet location. The hot tub and pool were great. Very relaxing time just what we needed!

  • Lovely place away from the busyness. A great area to explore. The pool is small but a lot of fun. Lovely hosts very hospitable. Very clean. A comfy bed. All round 5 star.

If you want to get back to nature but don't want to leave your creature comforts behind then "The Captain's Retreat" is the place for you. Having finished our first cabin, it has all of the luxuries you would expect from a 5* hotel, it just happens to also be in the most tranquil and private setting. Upon arrival you find your own designated parking space where you will walk through the enchanting woodland to find your very own little piece of calm, where you can unwind in a hand made cabin.
Inspired by his experience of living in the wild for a year and his Grandfather; a gold mining prospector Jack has created Finglen Cabins. The "Captain's Retreat" is a little piece of paradise where you can escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. Come and relax on the verandah with a long drink and listen to sound of bird song and the burn which runs through our wild flower meadow. Finglen Cabins has everything that you will need for a relaxing getaway, whether you want to stay for the weekend or a month we we have thought of everything. There is hot running water, electricity, a woodfired oven and hob as well as an electrical hob (just in case it's too hot to fire up the oven)! There is an indoor bathroom with hot shower, sink and composting toilet, yes we have an indoor composting toilet. Don't worry the composting toilet is state of the art, it has a fan to remove any "odd" smells and a full user guide is included in your cabin welcome pack as there are some key tips tha you need to know about using the composting toilet. The cabin sleeps two people in a luxurious double bed with a storage drawer cleverly hidden under the bed, we also have a small wardrobe for anyone who doesn't want to leave their fancy frocks behind. Heating is provided by the wood burning stove and there is an electrical radiator in the bathroom, so you wont have to worry about cold damp towels. The cabin has been designed and built to be very heat efficient so it doesn't require much heating, and when warm it holds its heat amazingly well. We have created a generous veranda so that you can enjoy the fresh air when relaxing or eating during your stay. The icing on the cake and we are very proud of this addition is the hot running outdoor bath tub. What more could anybody want than to soak in a hot bath on a summer or winters evening whilst enjoying your favourite tipple and gazing longingly at the meadow and river as it winds its way past the cabin.
Kick back and relax on the veranda and watch the aerial displays of Swallows and House Martins whilst enjoying spectacular sunsets over the river. With sunrise at 0430 and sunset at 2330 there is so much time to explore and enjoy the local area, climb mountains or just walk through the woods and relax.
  • Had a great stay, thank you

    Natalie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great few nights here at the start of your highlands tour. Perfect starting point close to Glasgow and great distance for exploring Loch Lomond, devils pulpit etc.. Thank you for the hospitality!!

    Tara2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute idea and we were so glad we did, beautiful scenery, enchanting feeling when the snow came down it was even prettier Sitting by the fire was so peaceful, I'm definitely booking again very soon, particularly looking forward to spending time there in the summer too

    Gordon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely weekend staying here. When we arrived we were greeted by Douglas who showed us around the cabin and explained all we needed to know regarding the fire, how to use the toilet (compost toilet) etc. When he left he said we are welcome to come up to the house nearby if we needed anything. Turns out the sockets weren’t working, we went and spoke to the house and Sabrina came down straight away and it was fixed before we even noticed it! They were so lovely we honestly didn’t mind but we’re very thankful with how quick they sorted it! The fire was lush to heat the cabin and to cook on and there were plenty of logs provided which made things a lot easier! The bed was insanely comfy and cosy and the bath outside was just amazing! Everything was really easy from booking to checking out as communication was there throughout and it was handy having Douglas and Sabrina close by if we needed them but also that we were left to have privacy too as it was remote and surrounded by trees!

    Bonnie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cabin. It was lots of fun to cook at the fire stove. We loved sitting on the veranda and the outdoor bathtub was an incredibly unique experience!

    Jonny2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great retreat in the country side, beautiful views, we couldn’t believe we were only 30 minutes from Glasgow. Our hosts were lovely, and the cabin was first rate. The outside bathtub was the cherry on top of the cake. We will definitely return in the summer.

    Louise2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing retreat! We stayed for two nights over new years and loved it. We had two days hiking nearby and the cabin was the perfect place to relax in afterwards. Very homely and lots of lovely touches to make our stay special - the outdoor bath is a treat. Highly recommend!

The Stables is set in the grounds of Corshill Cottage which has extensive garden grounds. It has outdoor seating and car parking. The apartment is ideal open plan living for couples or young families. The bedroom area is in a galleried area (open on one side) above the open plan living area. A mile from Thornhill and only 10 minutes drive to either Stirling or Callander. A car is recommended.
  • Lovely cosy apartment with great kitchen, easy parking, close to Stirling and the Trossachs walks and Lochs. Nice bath to use if feeling like a soak (with hand-held shower over the bath only). Stairs to bedroom in loft, with bathroom/toilet downstairs, so not good for some people. Some traffic noise in the bedrooom, but not too bad. Carolyn attended quickly to a small problem that arose with the apartment. Generally a good place to stay.

  • Cute, warm place close to great walks in the national park. Great place to stay and relax for a few days

  • Very quiet and ideal for a relaxing weekend. The cottage looks much better than it does in the photos and it also has a nice garden at the back. A bit tricky to get the property at first as you focus on the road but once you’ve spot it , you can’t miss it the second time. I totally recommend the place for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

  • Rebecca and Bill’s home was amazing. The grounds and views from the bedroom were stunning. Beautiful large bedroom which was more than ample for 3 adults. Cosy, warm, lovely clean bathroom. Rebecca had set out a beautiful spread for breakfast which we did not expect at all. She made porridge or scrambled eggs. There was bread, jams, honey, cheese, orange juice and loads more. The bed was lovely and soft with big soft feather pillows. We found Rebecca’s directions easy to follow. The house had loads of interesting history. Highly recommended by the Hammond family.

  • Bill and Rebecca are amazing hosts! Their property is spectacular and this has been our second stay with them. They exceed all expectations, so if you’re near Fintry, Scotland, do yourself a favor and book this spot!

  • I can’t even begin to rave about this place enough. It is an actual Eden. Rebecca and Bill are so inviting and kind and their place is more than amazing. They provide a lovely breakfast as well as tea/coffee and your own mini fridge, kettle, toaster, and microwave you can use anytime. Lie in bed at night and watch the stars, have a luxurious bath with a view of rolling hills, walk to your very own private waterfall or wander around a garden reminiscent of Wonderland. I’ve stayed in many AirBnBs this trip and this was by far the best. If you want a beautiful, tranquil, inviting retreat then this is the BnB for you!

  • Rebecca and Bill have a warm, welcoming home and hospitality to match. The facilities give you the flexibility to cook and eat (microwave, fridge and toaster provided) in your own private space and to enjoy the beautifully kept gardens. This little cottage is just a delight and we loved that there was a vase of flowers on the table, home grown apples, coffee plunger if anyone needed it and much appreciated bottle of milk in the fridge. Plus sweet treats. The beds were comfy and the area so quiet. We enjoyed our tour around the garden and meeting the chickens and lovely dog. Like being on a very small farm really. • Let me start by saying the photographs do not capture the beauty of this place. It’s absolutely breathtaking (we didn’t cry). You will be able to see the beautiful lake and the mountains right from your bedroom or the living room. (The birds are also spectacular...) The chalet is very private and we had our own sauna & hot tub. The place was immaculate inside and out. The hosts Victoria and Chris are two to the nicest people we have ever met. They helped us out with directions & places of interest and will answer any questions very quickly. We will definitely be back! Choose to stay here... you will NOT be disappointed.

  • Bruce’s coo shed was beautifully presented. He supplied a continental breakfast and fresh orange juice, milk. The coo shed was in walking distance to Balfron town centre. Car is required to go to nice scenery locations. 100% recommend

  • Really enjoyed our stay at the Coo Shed! The room itself is beautifully presented with great amenities, including fruits, cereals, bread, milk, tea / coffee and juices etc. Bruce & his wife are very friendly and communicated well, but the room is very private and you get your own space. Nice location with interesting history, but definitely need a car to go for nice walks / dinner spots. Would 100% recommend!

  • Cozy and comfortable place to stay! Not too far from Loch Lomond but far enough to avoid the crowds. Bruce is very kind and helpful.

  • The Coo Shed was the perfect base for our stay in Scotland. There is a bus stop at the top of the road or parking space for going further afield. Bruce was so helpful and we felt very much at home!

Thorntree Barn is near Stirling in Central Scotland and provides quality self catering accommodation for holidays. Thorntree is in the hills above Flanders Moss, midway between Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Stirling, on the southern edge of the Highlands - perfect for a holiday in Scotland. Arnprior village is on the edge of the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park and is close to the Lake of Menteith, Scotlands only lake. We are within one hour of Edinburgh and Glasgow, making this an ideal base for visiting Scotland's major cities, as well as all the major tourist attractions and sites.
Thorntree has a remarkably peaceful location with stunning views - Ben Lomond can be seen from your windows and patio, and absolutely wonderful sunsets (most of the time)
This is a rural farming area with the Scottish Highland hills and mountains prviding a wonderful backgrond. Loch Lomond is around 15/20 minutes away and we are on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park
  • Thorntree barn is s very cosy, well equipped cottage. We felt at home straight away. It is a very spacious cottage with fine beds, a nice bath room and an ensuite . Privacy is garuanteed because of the private entrance. The Hosts are very kind and provide you with lots of tourist information. The cottage is perfectly situated for day trips, there are so many nice things to do and see , close by. Highly recommanded !

  • Beautiful cottage in a great location, plenty of room for the 4 adults, 1 child and 2 toddlers we travelled with. Beautiful scenery, countryside location (but only 20 minutes from Stirling) and an amazing coffee shop (woodhouse) on your doorstep. Mark and carol made us feel at home but still had the privacy of our own car park, entrance, garden etc.

  • We enjoyed our stay at this charming place. Mark and Carol were helpful and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like a home away from home.
