Top recommendations from locals

From sightseeing to hidden gems, find out what makes the city unique with the help of the locals who know it best.
Castle
“The magnificent castle of Emperor Maximilan is one of the major sights. It used to be an Imperial residence until the end of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and the furniture is still original. The park surrounding the castle used to be one of the most magnificent parks, it is not in the best conditions, now, but still nice for a stroll around and the entrance to the park is free. The view from the castle and also the park is really great. In summer you can go there even by boat and the view from the sea is one of my personal highlights.”

Art Museum
“It's a very nice museum that was built by the Baron Revoltella, a very generous patron of the city's cultural life. There is the formerly private palace with all the representative rooms to see and also the modern part with an art collection. In summer there is also a rooftop terrace café with amazing views over the city and the Gulf of Trieste”

“Lake Bohinj is Slovenia`s largest glacial lake and it’s about half an hour drive from Bled. It is located inside Triglav National Park and surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Julian Alps. It’s a beautiful peaceful place to rest and unwind as you breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the untouched nature in the Triglav National Park. Park
“Alpine lakes, majestic mountains, green valleys, beautiful rivers, spectacular waterfalls, attractive gorges, lush green pastures, sweeping vistas and more. The Triglav National Park has it all. It is the only Slovenian national park and one of the oldest European parks (established in 1981). It covers 4% of the entire Slovenia (880 square kilometers), almost across the entire area of the Julian Alps. The specific feature is its dynamic intact nature and its richness of vegetation and numerous endangered animals. Not so far from the city bustle and only about 10 minutes drive from Bled you can enjoy in the pure and intact nature.”
