  • This place is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway, or a week long getaway. You overlook the water and the path to the beach is a quick 3 minute walk down. The view is unbelievable. You hang out on the cliff, engulfed by the glorious beauty of the forever pounding ocean. Leave your white noise machines at home. The melodic drum of the waves crashing is perfect for bed time as well as meditating on the glorious, sunsoaked deck. Seashells abound in the early morning. The tides bring in some especially fantastic jewels across the coastline.

  • The Sunset Cottage is the perfect place to unwind and relax on the beach. Gorgeous view and a cozy, quaint space to decompress away from it all! Thanks again Nonie!

  • LOVE this place! The location and view are unbeatable. The studio is steps from the ocean, cozy, nice TV, and lots of blankets to keep warm. We hope to be back soon!

  • WOW. If you're thinking the place is a little out of your price range, ask yourself what does a beautiful unique location on the beach mean to you. Then ask yourself, again, about all the times you might have tried to save a little. This is NOT one of those times!! The breathtaking views, comfy amenities and delicious, refreshing sounds and feel of rolling ocean waves make it all worthwhile. Indulge. Enjoy. You're worth it. You never know what you're missing, but this place is not to be missed. Monie's hospitality tops it all off with a healthy dose of comfort and accommodation.

  • Amazing little beach cabin! The cabin is set closer to the beach than most. Definitely a plus! It's tucked into the hillside and because of its position among some bonsai-like shrubbery, it turned out to be very private. The view and sunsets are spectacular! The cozy beach motif of the inside is well balanced with a large panoramic window sitting space and the cabin is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, condiments, coffee, and teas - all the basics. The nights are silent, nothing but the sounds of the waves to fall asleep to. Truly paradise.

  • Great spot, great host! I would love to come back.

A magical Redwood Treehouse located it the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. There is a live tree growing right through the main living area and another in the bathroom! It is simply incredible. It was built by my friend, Randy, a stained glass artist. Everyone who sees it are delighted by it. Please read entire description before making a reservation request. It has a delicious high-bed, a kitchen with a small stove and refrigerator, and typical cooking tools. There is a full bathroom with shower and toilet of course. There is now a hot-tub at about 103 degrees ready for your soak before bed or a morning treat. The Treehouse is a short walk of a few hundred yards (about four minutes) through the beautiful woods from the parking area. There is a gas stove for heating. There is a TV and DVD player with many movies to choose from. For travelers this is the best of both worlds. A wonderful treehouse nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1(Pacific Coast HWY) the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor. People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain treehouse and quiet. The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a ‘banana belt’. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25” of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature’s air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day. The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region. Come and visit our amazing part of the world and experience something special about the California Coast. All linens are provided. The kitchen has the basic items for cooking, i.e., spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, and tea. Two-night minimum on weekends. THREE-DAY MINIMUM on HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. A 60.00 cleaning fee will be charged per each stay. We are a green establishment. Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. We ask our guests to consider using fewer towels during their stay and not requesting a sheet change unless your stay is longer than a week. I have a moderate cancellation policy. You must cancel a full seven days before your reservation. Please make sure that you read it thoroughly. You will be charged 50% of your stay if you cancel after the grace period.
  • Unique. Beautiful and special, like something out of a story. Not like any vacation house we've ever stayed in.

    Greta2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stay. Here. Make it a point to spend 2 or 3 days in this remarkable space. The treehouse is amazing, the hospitality is warm, and the opportunity to literally "get away from it all" is priceless. I knew it would be cool. I mean, c'mon, it's a TREEHOUSE. What I didn't know was how a weekend away from the kids could reignite my joyfulness.

    Sara2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous, magical night in the redwoods. Bring a book and someone you love.

    Jeff2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely treehouse with plenty of space and amenities to make your stay comfortable. Beautiful short hike to reach the treehouse. Only downside was that it was nosier than we expected with neighboring homes running saws, leaf blowers and even target practice... we could see a road and other homes so while it was private it was not isolated.

    Liqa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! A restorative weekend with girlfriends. Kitchen has great supplies for cooking and Mary Jane is very hospitable.

    Sarah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • Kevin's place was clean, stylish and had all amenities. Kevin was flexible enough to allow us to come in late and was kind enough to offer some great Chinese tea.

  • Kevin's space is very comfortable, clean and pleasant, he and his mother are formidable people, congratulations for taking care of your guests, and thanks for the tips. Always indicate.

  • This airbnb's location is great for day trippers that want to visit Monterey and Carmel. Also come with great value. Although our stay in the airbnb was a short 9 hours, we found Kevin to be a very polite and communicative host. Definitely recommend staying here.

  • Great place, would definitely recommend it! Kevin is very welcoming and the place is quite clean

    Pranab2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, I have to boast of the landlord's mother, an 86-year-old enthusiastic old man Jiang teacher. When we drove to the place early, she was already waiting at home, and gave us the ticket card of the aquarium booked in time, and also eagerly guided us how to park for free, so that we found the parking lot without any difficulty. Secondly, the bedroom and bathroom are very clean, the sheets and quilts are all new and have a strong aroma. The bathroom items are neat and tidy, which is a bit like staying at a five-star hotel. The kitchen can be used to boil water and microwave ovens and refrigerators. It is convenient for us to make simple meals. Of course, she also asks if she needs tableware, even if we have our own. It’s about 20 minutes drive from Monterey and 17 miles away. Thanks again to Kevin and his mother Jiang, if you come back later, we will definitely choose your home! We are also very willing to recommend to friends, I wish you good health and a smooth career! (Shanghai Friends: Corten )

  • We almost felt home in this cosy house. Great breakfast, very nice location, super great hosts. They gave us a lot of valuable information about the neighbourhood and places to visit. Most of all, they help us getting an early flight back home during this difficult time (covid19).

    Léo2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Seaside was the 2nd stage of our roadtrip after San Francisco. The house is ideally located, in a very calm and impeccably clean environment. Annemarie and Jesse are in perfect hospitality. In addition Annemarie speaks French, which can be very useful when our English vocabulary is limited. We will not hesitate to return on a future trip.

    Jean-Jacques2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're still reading this review and deciding whether or not to book here - BOOK HERE! Do it! Annemarie and Jesse are such wonderful hosts. Their house and garden is absolutely charming. The breakfast was delicious. Just a short drive to everything you want to see in the area. Hope to stay again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay in the Monterey area. But what made it truly special was our time at Annemarie and Jesse's lovely home. They were easy going and helpful in every way and made our journey even that more pleasurable.

    Michael2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Feels like home :) My favorite place to stay in Seaside. I keep coming back and can't get enough. Thank you, Annemarie, Jesse and Jocelyne!

    Katieann2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended - beautiful historic house with wonderful hosts, wonderful gardens, great breakfast in the morning. Always a pleasure to stay here!

    Briar2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, tranquil, must-stay experience. Annemarie, Jesse and Jocelyne think of everything, and I feel so cared for, body and soul, when I stay here (I'm a happy repeat customer, I've stayed here multiple times on my visits to Monterey). The inn feels like a home - inviting fireplace in the living room in the evenings, nourishing and tasty breakfast in the dining room in the mornings, and many cozy spots to sit in the garden, relax, meditate, whatever you need. The inn is centrally located - close to the bay, Big Sur - so you can go out if you like, or you can completely relax in this cozy spot. This room is particularly lovely- giant bed, writing desk, chairs to relax in, and a distant view of the water. Thank you for a lovely stay, I can't wait to visit again!

It is true that "The Retreat" was once a shed (never used as one)! It has a "Queen bed", a bathroom/ shower, microwave and refrigerator! Snacks, waters, coffee and / or tea are available! Featuring 90% green electric energy (solar panels)!! Monterey is only 25 minutes away.
There is a gas BBQ near The Retreat for your use! There is a microwave. Dishes and siverware. Laundry is available!
The Retreat is located on a very quiet cul-de-sac!
  • Aptly named, this space definitely feels like a retreat! The owners are so kind and the space is quite comfortable. I spent most of my time working so I really enjoyed all the light from the windows and the outdoor space just beckoning me for a yoga sesh :)

  • A great place at a great value very accommodating and quick to respond to questions and concerns

    Sinjin2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Retreat is a wonderful place! It is cozy and comfortable. There were dishes and silverware we used to eat dinner in, which was a nice and relaxing bonus. Some granola bars and coffee were also provided. The location is convenient to both downtown Salinas and for a trip out to Monterey. My girlfriend friend and I really enjoyed our stay. Only possible negative is that the access to the room is through a sliding glass door with no exterior key to lock it if you want to go out and leave valuables in the room.

    Ryan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far our favourite Airbnb experience. What a unique little space. Ted and Edith’s place is beautiful. The room is private, super comfortable and has every thing you can possibly need. It’s separated from the main house by a nice little garden. We loved our stay and actually wanted to stay longer just because we liked the space so much.

    Warda2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed staying at the retreat! It was really convenient to head down to Monterrey and continue on my highway 1 drive. Ted gave a ton of recommendations, and it was really peaceful and quiet in the evenings. I see now why this place is often booked!

*Floor to ceiling windows look out to beautiful large tiled patio and gardens. Window coverings assure your privacy. Our repeat guests love the studio and have affirmed our commitment to providing you with a wonderfully relaxing stay with us. The Calendar is updated daily - feel free to book instantly - the studio is always ready for guests. Please be aware that the second bed (for a third guest), is a twin air bed, which can be found in the closet with extra linens. It can be "tight" with the airbed opened but okay for a place to sleep and then deflate bed during the day, if you are on a budget or for a child. Although we have tried to be as transparent as possible with our description, we invite you to check all of the amenities section for a complete list. Pooches welcome with prior approval! ( $29. pet fee per pooch, per visit.) Completely fenced-in yard, within walking distance to a lovely nature preserve. Pooches are not to be left unattended in yard, due to barking and other issues. We do not accept cats or birds in the studio. If you like peace and privacy, this is the place for you. Please see pet guidelines further down in this description! Come and go as you please at any hour of the day or night without the fear of disturbing us, as you have your own entrance and do not go through the main house at all. Enjoy this fabulous super sunny master bedroom studio, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on huge fenced tiled patio with fruit trees and gardens. I am most welcoming, yet unobtrusive, so that you will find this to be a comfortable oasis. I travel often, of course, I am reachable for any questions, advice, requests or needs via the AirBnB booking thread or cell phone for any urgent matters. You will enter through a side gate, walk down the adobe paved path, lit with motion-sensor spots, through the heirloom roses, which are highly scented when in bloom. No need to go through the main house, as the studio is separate from the rest of the main house, (although attached by one common wall.) You will walk past the main house to enter the studio. Super-private and very quiet, except for the birds, yet centrally located; five minutes to downtown Monterey, Laguna Seca Raceway or CSUMB and ten minutes to Monterey Bay Aquarium. There is a 24-hour Safeway and Walgreen's just 2 minutes away, in case you have any midnight cravings! Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are 10 minutes away. We are located in a wonderful little sun belt, perched high upon a hilltop with a nice view of Monterey Bay in a very quiet residential neighborhood, so typically we are above any fog – especially during the summer season when the rest of the Monterey Peninsula could be socked-in! We are at the top of a street which ends in a cul-de-sac so there is not a lot of through traffic and super-easy street parking right in front of the house. Painted in a soothing palette and tastefully furnished, the studio is comprised of large sunny master bedroom with hardwood floors and your own private updated Travertine marble bathroom (shower - no tub) supplied with towels, hairdryer and high-quality toiletries. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view of patio, creating a sunny and bright ambiance. A dimmer switch for the overhead chandelier, a writing table, and new smart TV with remote control plus wi-fi make your stay complete. If you do watch a program or film that has an additional viewing cost on Amazon or Netflix, you will be billed after your checkout. The detailed FAQ binder has been very helpful to our guests and includes restaurant menus and helpful suggestions. Also, there is a lot of info on the local area and attractions. The studio is heated through vents by a gas forced-air furnace, (controlled by the thermostat located in the main house) and if you need extra heat, there are more blankets plus a space heater for your complete comfort. It rarely gets that cold here, but if we do get a cold snap in Jan or Feb I want you to be totally comfortable! A fan is there for those hot days we get once in a while! Sleep peacefully in the Queen-sized bed outfitted with 100% cotton linens (line dried when possible) and cozy blankets, then enjoy breakfast outside on the patio when weather permits. Our guests have raved about the bed! For an extra guest, there is a twin air bed. (tight but doable if you are on a budget or traveling with child.) We use scent-free laundry products. The kitchenette/breakfast bar includes a new microwave, and coffee maker (filters provided - byo coffee please.) The under-the-counter fridge has a separate freezer compartment with ice trays big enough for some frozen foods or ice cream. (Note: this is not a full kitchen, so please don't plan any major cooking in the room.) Set up for reheating, take out, etc. We switched to compostable cups, plates, silverware, etc. There are real wine glasses and mugs. NOTE! We ask that you don't use all appliances at once while using hairdryer, as it may trigger the circuit breaker. Access is through the large fenced-in beautiful, sunny patio in the backyard, filled with organic raised bed vegetable gardens which change seasonally, fruit trees and roses. This is a great location, centrally located between Highway One and Highway 68, near the recreation trail, Frog Pond, beaches and terrific hills for a morning or evening stroll. No smoking inside – okay on patio. Dogs allowed with extra charge of $29. per visit, per pooch. Please advise in advance of any dogs when you are making your booking - i will then send you an alteration to add the pet fee. Pets must be supervised in the backyard at all times. You will be responsible for any pet damage to property. There is a pet section in the FAQ binder which has lots of dog-friendly places in the area. Please also read the following PET GUIDELINES: - dogs are not permitted on the furniture - dogs may only be left in studio if they are kenneled and do not bark when left alone in an unfamiliar place, no exceptions - please bring your own pet bedding and do not use towels, bedspread or bath mats for dogs - dogs may not be left unattended on the back patio, due to complaints of excessive barking and digging - dogs not allowed in garden beds - when walking your pooch, please avoid the neighbors across the street on either corner, as they have complained and I want to keep my neighbors happy! Also, please pick up after your pooch and dispose of properly. A sophisticated foodie and twenty-nine year resident of the Monterey Peninsula, I am a great resource of information if needed. Also, the studio is also stocked with books on the area, local magazines & brochures, and a binder with menus from my favorite restaurants, brochures and information on local attractions, plus various local offers are stashed in the desk drawer. There is a fully equipped gym 2 minutes away for those who want to get their workout in. Check out the desk drawers for passes to one of our local wine tasting rooms and other attractions, as they come available. If you need restaurant recommendations prior to arrival, I am happy to assist. My edited list of favorite go-to spots are in the FAQ binder. If your party is larger than two (i.e. a 3rd person, or a child) please contact us in advance with questions about twin air bed prior to your arrival. (stored with extra linens in the closet.) Rates may be slightly higher during major events including AT&T Pro-Am, Concours d'Elegance, US Open, Jazz Festival, etc. I live in the main house. Though we do clean the studio thoroughly between guests, you should be aware that we are a dog-friendly property. No cats allowed in the studio. I use scent-free laundry detergent on all of the towels and bed linens. BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE - CALENDAR IS UP-TO-DATE! • I'd recommend Paul and Jennifer's house to others as well as stay here again myself. The room I stayed in was huge, as was the bathroom. Both were very clean and comfortable too. They were very accommodating especially as I needed to check in fairly late. I got quick and concise responses from them, which is very appreciated. The price and location are also very very reasonable especially considering how few options are available in that area.

We are a busy family with full time schedules. Our house is comfy, friendly & laid out in a way that noise does not carry. Check in is flexible but check out is rigid: NO LATER than 11 am to avoid a $15 additional charge.
This room is 10’ x 11’. It started life as an office but we have enclosed it to make it more private. It has high-lofted ceilings, wonderful light and a good view of the coastal sunset. The ceiling fan will keep you cool or warm based on your preference. Our neighbor has a fish pond inhabited by frogs. We find it very charming and hope you find their songs welcoming.
Here are the nearby amenities: SOUTH: Safeway, Safeway Fueling, Starbucks, Chase Bank, Gold’s Gym, Panda Express, Mountain Mike’s and several local restaurants: 1 mile EAST: Food 4 Less, Circle K Fueling, Starbucks with a drive thru, Taco Bell, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Ace Hardware, Auto Zone, 1 mile WEST: El Super grocery store (phenomenal fresh lunch counter and tortilleria), CVS drug store, 7-11 store with fueling station, Wells Fargo Bank, McDonald’s, Pizza Factory, Sushi, 1 mile You can reach Santa Cruz & San Jose by accessing CA Hwy 101 which is 3 miles, straight shot, from our home. You can access Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach by CA Hwy 68 which is about 5 miles from our home. We are happy to give you ideas and directions.

  • Mark was great! The place was clean and very organized. Mark was very helpful and recommended Point Lobos to us it was an amazing park. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

  • If you’re looking for a comfortable and cozy spot to stay in near Monterey, look no further than Mark’s Airbnb. 5/5 would recommend. Amazing host and spotless Airbnb.

    Hakim2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Close to downtown Monterey by car.

    John2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a short trip!

    Casey2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was very hospitable and his place is nice and quiet. A good room with nice touches for what the cost was to stay there. Also based on his suggestion I had a nice time at a park I was not aware of.

    Matthew2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Mark's. He is a very conscientious host. Self-check-in instructions were simple, the place was sparking clean, and his description of his listing is spot on.

    Ed2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had high expectations for my stay from reading previous reviews and Mark did not disappoint! He was thoughtful, kind and his place was spotless. I was in town for the Kyle Cease meditation retreat and Mark’s house offered the quiet reflection spot I needed for a tremendous experience during the retreat.

    Sage2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check-in, very clean room and private bathroom, it seemed to be away from the main part of the house so it was very private and quiet. Mark was home when we checked in and was very polite and showed us around. He offers water, teas, coffee and creamer and has a keurig machine. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room. TV has Netflix and Amazon. The bed was a little firmer than I’m used to (I like really soft beds) but my husband loved it. There are extra blankets if you get cold. Also, the driveway is very steep, so if you have a very low car (like I do), just go very slow and at an angle. Great host, great place and great location! Thank you!!

The Lodge at Tangled Oaks is a superbly converted barn on a six acre property on Monterey Bay. Positioned half way between Monterey and Santa Cruz, Tangled Oaks is directly inland from Moss Landing at the center of the bay. The stand alone 1000 square foot Lodge is finished in shiplap walls and tongue and groove ceilings. It has a full kitchen and bath as well as a fenced back yard suitable for dogs. The Lodge is regarded as a warm, welcoming place in a beautiful California country setting.
This is a county environment with lots of space between dwellings.

Our place is a smoke-free small farm close to the Pinnacles, Gilroy Gardens, Garlic Festival, Salinas Rodeo, Carmel, Monterey, Cannery Row, Ren Faire, Hollister Bike Rally and many things to see and do! Bring your horse! We offer stalls/pasture for your trusty steed; loads of parking for trailers too. You will love our place because of location, horses, dogs, chickens, ostriches, goats, and sheep! REINS rescue and Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue "live" here. Our place is good for everyone!
Our AirBnB offers both you and your pets a comfortable night away from home. If you are travelling with your horse, the additional fee for a stall is $20 plus a parking fee for your rig of $5.00. Our stalls all have turnouts but for those who want just a large stall with no turnout, we have two foaling stalls available. There is ample parking for your rig. If you are a traveller with a dog we welcome you and Fido or Fluffy too! We offer crates or dog beds and the nightly fee for your canine companion is $15.00.
We are nestled in a valley formerly part of the Ausaymas land grant, in the middle of farm land, surrounded by orchards and fields. There are cherries, apricots, walnuts, almonds, cattle, horses, and mountains. Fields of peppers, tomatoes, grain, squash are ever-changing throughout the growing season. In other words we live in peace, tranquility and a slice of heaven.
  • We loved Greg’s and Elizabeth’s place. It was very unique and Greg shared with us some background on the spot which was interesting. In the morning before we left, we could walk the property and see all the animals. It was so much fun and a really unique place to stay. It was super convenient to Pinnacles National Park which was our destination the next day.

    Leah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! The bedroom was very cozy, and Elizabeth and Greg are great hosts. It was so cool to see all the animals and all the stars at night.

    Liz2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The property is very large, with many animals to see. We enjoyed walking around looking at the horses, sheep, goats, and alpacas. The actual sleeping rooms are slightly small, but there is plenty of room to stretch out in the rest of the space. There is a lovely kitchenette, with coffee and tea, and it also has a living room and dining room as well. There are no TV's but the internet is free so bring your tablet and you can easily stream movies to entertain you. Our hosts were very responsive, and even fixed an issue with the internet immediately! This facility also accommodates horses too! So if you compete your animals (I was here for a competition with my dogs) then it is a very good and safe place to stay. Super quiet an serine, ponder the stars in the evening, and relax.

    Ellen2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was absolutely wonderful- one of the most unique bnbs I’ve ever stayed in. It was lovely to see so many well looked after animals. We got a great sleep too. Huge selection of teas and coffee and an amazing shower.

    Anna2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway if you want to get in touch with the simple life - all different kinds of animals to see, and a real homey feel!

    Preston2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth and Greg are superhosts. The room was immaculate. We also had the opportunity to meet the animals in the farm. A beautiful experience! The hosts do such a wonderful job. We loved to stay at their peaceful and blessed place!

  • 2nd time my boyfriend and I stayed at Greg and Elizabeth's place. A great getaway and the animals were amazing to visit. Greg and Elizabeth made our stay very comfortable and they were extremely accommodating to us.

We're centrally-located to beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Aquarium, downtown, Cannery Row, Carmel. Please note room accommodates two adults and is not set up for children or pets.

It feels like a charming cottage. Complete privacy. Go around the right side of the house and find the French doors that open into your private bedroom. Inside you will find a bathroom with walk-in shower, convenience nook, and walk-in closet/study with window. The closet/study has a clothing rack and contains a table and chair where you can sit quietly next to a desk-level window for laptop work in a quiet space. The queen-sized bed, topped with a three inch memory foam mattress, is so comfortable, supportive yet soft enough to cradle your contours for a restful night's sleep. If more warmth is needed, the cozy fireplace heater will send out infrared heat. Antique dressers and lamps are charming and utilitarian. Original oil paintings hang on each wall, and change throughout the year for variety. Many are local scenes, including The Monterey Customs House, The Wharf in Monterey, the Pacific Grove coastline carpeted with florescent purple rosea mesembryanthemum. The white tiled walk-in shower is spacious and light, with skylight directly above showering area. Towels, shampoo and soap are provided. The bathroom heater makes for a pleasant and nurturing experience. Several local businesses offer bicycle, kayak, surf, paddle board, in-line skate and surrey rentals along the path. You will delight at every mile, enjoying scenic vistas and wildlife viewing, including harbor seals, sea otters, sea lions, birds and sometimes even whales! Walk, run, or bike to downtown Monterey and other famous local attractions. So easy.
  • I had a wonderful 2 months in Cathy and Robert’s place. I loved the location. I liked how it was so close to the highway 1 entrance. It’s right at the edge of Monterey and Seaside. I think I ended up eating most of my meals in Seaside. The place is private and at the back of Cathy and Robert’s house. You get a private entrance through the backyard. It’s very spacious and had plenty of room to hang up and store my things. The bathroom is ADA compliant so the shower is big but is in the same area as the toilet. There’s a large curtain that pulls all the way around the shower area. It takes some getting used to. Eventually I found the best angle to point the shower head to minimize the amount of water that got close to the toilet. Cathy and Robert were very responsive and friendly. Whenever I had any problems or needed refills in some of the amenities, they were quick to respond. This place was definitely a great place to stay in Monterey!

    Stefanie2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cathryn and Robert are the best hosts anyone could ask for. They made everything so easy and were very easy to talk to in case I needed anything. Robert's paintings made the space extra special too, and more than once he dropped off some freshly baked bread for me (it was delicious!). I had a wonderful stay and recommend Cathryn and Robert's place for anyone looking to stay in the area.

    Sarah2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Cathy are THE BEST Airbnb hosts on the planet. They have become family. The cottage is wonderful in every way, and I cannot wait to come back sometime in the near future. Book without hesitation!!

    Alexandre2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cozy cottage is a great place to live! We stayed there for more than two months and had a great time! The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen is small but you have everything to cook a great meal! We also enjoyed the small terrace in the morning, with some coffee and the best bread from our host Robert. Thank you!

    Annika2019-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Cathy and Robert’s place for two months and thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The room had a private entrance as described and I stayed warm while I was there. I didn’t cook, but they have plenty of cooking appliances available for use. The bed was comfy, the sheets were very soft, and everything about it felt like home. Also, their home is close to so many local spots! Downtown Monterey, the aquarium, and Carmel are all about a 15 min drive. You can also walk to the park in the neighborhood. Cathy and Robert were very generous hosts! And they make the most amazing sourdough bread! I highly recommend this Airbnb.

    Joan2018-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Super friendly hosts with an excellent Airbnb! Private and pleasant, with everything a guest needs for a comfortable stay.

  • Where do I start?? Cathy and Robert are HANDS DOWN the best, kindest, and most gracious Airbnb hosts I've ever had the chance to encounter. After a month in their wonderful cottage, I feel they've become part of my family. From Cathy's extraordinary fresh baked sourdough breads to the wonderful walks and talks the three of us shared, I won't ever forget my month at Clementine Cottage, and simply cannot wait to return soon!

The cottage sits behind the main house on 9 acres. Take a walk down the road to the creek at the rear of the property. Very few lights out here so the stars are amazing. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way. Sleep on luxurious bamboo sheets with a down comforter and awaken to birdsong. Open the fridge and find pasture raised eggs from our chickens. A fresh continental breakfast will be delivered to your door on the day and time of your choosing.
We have realized that guests are not aware of how remote we are. You will be 15 minutes from a grocery store. If possible, you should shop before you arrive. You won't want to leave once you get here. :) There is a full kitchen with the basics to prepare a meal. There is a gas grill outside. If you forgot something you need for your meal, just let us know.
  • Kim's cottage is absolutely darling and perfect for two people. It is nicely decorated, well-equipped, and sparkling clean. The location, off a quiet back-country road, is lovely. The cottage sits on nine acres and you have a private terrace that looks out to the meadow and hills and you hear nothing but birds singing. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Kim's hospitality was outstanding. She provided a delicious continental breakfast and her own farm fresh eggs. There were many other thoughtful touches, including snacks. We highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. We visited Pinnacles National Park for two days of hiking. The park is a beautiful 30-minute drive away.

  • A perfect place to stay if you were going to Pinnacles National Park. A nice and peaceful property and Kim is a great host. You can’t go wrong staying here.

  • This is such an incredible place to stay - I can’t recommend it enough. A warm and well-decorated home situated in a quiet valley. All you hear are the quiet sounds of nature: birds, frogs, chickens, maybe some distant sheep. Kim is a lovely host and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. In fact, the amenities and attention to detail here were just perfect, for any traveler, and this is truly one of the most lovely Airbnb experiences we have had! We also appreciated the proximity to Pinnacles National Park - amazing hiking, views, and condors galore, especially this time of year. Recommended to anyone!

  • Great place, if you want to be surrounded by nature. Very peaceful and private! Alot of thoughtful touches, Including breakfast. It's about 20 minute drive from nearest town so plan accordingly.

  • Booked this place for my anniversary, and hope to go back in the future! This place was gorgeous! Our stay here exceeded our expectations. The hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. As soon as we arrived we felt at home, they even offered us a delicious breakfast which we only got the morning we checked out but left us wishing we’d asked for it the day before! The property is beautiful, we really enjoyed sitting in the patio to enjoy the scenery. The patio space is partly hidden behind the cottage, making feel more private. We loved it so much, we ended up spending most of the mornings and evenings outside. The interior is cozy but spacious enough for 2 people, it was spotless and nicely decorated. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage!

    Melinda2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing stay. One of the best stays so far. I highly recommend! I will be back for sure. Everything about it was great and the attractions around are wonderful.

    Susie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice time at Mario's place. The apartment is very comfortable and attractive with sweet little touches to make you feel welcome. The location is excellent, just a short walk to downtown SJB and all the shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again.

    Margot2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mario's place is really quite beautiful - much more spacious than it appears in the photos. The bedroom is huge and the bed very comfortable. There is a walk in closet with lots of hangers. We were able to walk to town to meet friends at local restaurants, which was so much better than having to take a car and search for parking. The house was very clean and there were lots of suggestions of things to do. We stayed in one of his other units last month, and it was equally nice and clean. We will always choose one of Mario's dwellings when we are in the area.

  • Great stay. Thanks Mario!

    Kevin2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mario’s place was extremely clean, and well kept. There were many small touches which helped our make out stay comfortable. Some of the touches included, fresh fruit, informative pamphlets for local restaurant and tours or expeditions. The apartment is located within walking distance to the downtown area. There is also a lovely coffee shop in the corner. I would definitely stay here again!

    Carina2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mario's place is spotless, close to everything, and very comfortable. We loved that parking was so easy and that there were thoughtful amenities like snacks and bottled water waiting for us. We were practically next door to a great coffee shop and a grocery store. We highly recommend his place!

Garfield West is a cozy and eclectic two bedroom one bathroom house in South Salinas. The house easily accommodates six guests- there is a queen bed, a full bed with a twin trundle underneath, as well as a large couch in the living room. It has easy access to the highways to head south down to Monterey and Big Sur or north to Santa Cruz and San Francisco. It is an easy drive to Laguna Seca and walking distance from the National Steinbeck Museum and local Main Street restaurants and bars.
Garfield West got it's name when the owners, Jaimee's parents and new neighbors, decided to buy the house as place to come and stay when visiting their first grandchild, Romee. Since they live on Garfield Avenue in their native New York and on West Street in California, they dubbed their new home "Garfield West", meaning their new home west of NY and their new home on West St.
Old Down Town Salinas is a 15 minute walk down Central Avenue. The Steinbeck Center is on the corner and Main Street boasts many unique eateries and gift shops.
  • Really enjoyed our stay.

The Bonnie View Place is a space you can come and rest after a hard days work. This is a pleasant neighborhood on a quiet street. Your room will be in the back of the house away from street noise.
Whether you are a construction or a medical professional the Bonnie View Place has a quiet room for sleep, ample closet space and a private bath. You will have kitchen privileges, along with a washer and dryer. Sometimes we stay at the house, other times we are not there. Depending on our work schedule you might have the house to yourself.
Our neighborhood is full of working families; quiet during the day and a bit active on the weekends. Everyone is friendly, has a bit of time for chit chat and you can usually hear some kids playing. We are about a mile away from the grocery store, and auto parts store and a couple of the banks.
  • This is overall, easily the best AirBnB experience I've ever had!!! The room was sparkling clean, cute, and comfortable. Everything shown on the listing was accurate and the self check-in system was super easy and convenient to use. Whenever I had any questions, Donna was very timely and thoughtful in her responses to ensure that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is within just a couple miles of town for anything you might need (grocery store, gas, Target, etc.) and the cost for staying here was super reasonable especially for such an awesome, beautiful area of CA! The hosts were so kind to me and cooked lovely dinners a few of the nights that I stayed and were just all in all great company when they were in town. I mostly had the house to myself. I hope to be back to stay here one day! You'll definitely have a charming stay if you choose the Bonnie View Place! :)

  • It seems like a safe, quiet neighborhood; street parking was plentiful. The space heater in the room was nice, and there was a coffee maker and tea in the room with lots of tea and coffee available. The private bathroom was nice as well, with fresh towels and shampoo and conditioner. A great value for the price, and lovely people if you get a chance to say hi!

New modern house inside a gated community. Sunny deck with a beautiful view of the slough, trees, birds, etc. Easy access to the highway. Located in between Santa Cruz(15 min) and Monterey(25 min). It’s also 10 minutes away from Manresa and Sunset beach. 10 minutes away from Moss Landing, where you can go whale watching and kayak with sea otters! Ramsay park is next to the property and includes walking paths, tennis courts and a skate park. Also, restaurants and stores are 5 minutes away.
  • Place is clean and stylish in a gated community. Comfortable bed. Windows that open up to a mossy lake with beautiful singing birds in the morning. Quiet neighborhood, close to town where there are strawberry fields as far as the eyes can see. Fresh fruit on the sides of the roads. Beaches close by aren’t crowded at all, very clean and not noticeably touched by man. Recommend hiking at Big Sur, the beach trail. 12/10 stay.

  • The house is in a very easy to access location and less than 10 minutes away from the city center. The hosts were plenty hospitable and eager to help whenever. The dogs are absolutely adorable. The bedroom has just what you need for a comfortable night in with two windows available to open should you require a draft. The bathrooms are more than spacious and clean. I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thanks to my hosts.

  • highly recommend this home if you’re planning a stay in Hollister

    Jazmine2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Due to our schedules, we barely saw our hosts, so it was almost like we rented a fully furnished, empty house. So, good for those of us with social anxiety issues.

    Adam2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, and private. No real problems. A neighbor’s dog started barking at the moon a bit in the middle of the night. It turned into a chorus but that isn’t a problem if you travel with earplugs as I do. Otherwise a fine, well tended neighborhood.

Bring your horse! We offer stalls/pasture for your trusty steed; loads of parking for horse trailers too. You will love our place because of the location, the horses, the dogs, chickens, ostriches, goats, and a turkey! REINS rescue and Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue "live" here. Our place is good for everyone!
Our Equine AirBnB offers both you and your horse a comfortable night away from home. If you are travelling with your horse, the additional fee for a stall is $20 plus a parking fee for your rig of $5.00.
  • Beautiful location! I'm a farm kid who thoroughly enjoyed the environment. Great hosts. I plan to return.

  • Greg was very informative. Hospitality was great! The coffee maker was very handy. Clean room, comfy bed, great views, and it was very nice that there were menus available for the nearby restaurants. Will be back for sure!

  • Great communication, easy entry, clean, interesting furnishings, art and decor. The animals were fun to see and the hosts are warm and friendly.

    Vivian2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth and Greg are amazing people; they are kind, generous, and welcoming. The have many lovely animals which they rescue.

    Paul2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • It's a wonderful gem, hidden among the quiet back roads of Hollister. Nicely appointed rooms and an spacious common area highlight the location. The hospitality of the hosts was very much appreciated after my long drive and hectic schedule. A winner!

  • Good place to stay my only complaint would be the shower it had no pressure but besides that I would suggest this place to anybody

    Michael2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place has a really unique style to it. It was very quaint and peaceful, and I can’t speak highly enough of the hospitality and kindness of Elizabeth and Greg. They were more than accommodating and they really go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The animals that they have at the inn transform the BnB from a great place to stay into a genuine rural experience, and I’m very happy that I chose to stay here.

    Justin2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a one of a kind experience. It is lovely and I absolutely loved how Elizabeth and Greg have incorporated the previous vet hospital equipment and names into a wonderful, cozy living space. They are the most thoughtful and kind hosts you could find. They would make you feel at home right when you step in to the space. Make sure you read every detail about the place. It was my bad that I thought there are attached bathrooms but the bathroom and the restrooms are separate from the bedroom and shared with the other hosts, if there's any. But that wasn't an issue at all during our stay. They were clean and well-attended to. There's a lot to explore and great space to walk around. Loved the experience!!!
