“I booked this place for my parents who were in town to see their grandson. It is exactly as the picture and super clean and stylish. Good, quiet location in safe neighbourhood and nice touches like the manual with tips etc. Would definitely book again.”

“Had so much fun in Houston, loved that the place wasn’t far from NRG Stadium or the downtown area. The place was very clean and cozy in a quiet neighborhood. I have no complaints at all and would definitely stay here again.”

“A great spot in a nice neighbourhood. Close to restaurants, best Tex Mex we've had on our trip so far. Not far from downtown. Quick access to highways. Clean room, lots of parking right outside the door. Bed was amazing, we actually looked at the brand so we can buy one for ourselves lol.”

Houston Zoo

We have an amazing zoo here in Houston and if you are coming with family I recommend checking it out. There is also a little place to rent paddle boats for pretty cheap right outside the zoo.

Getting around

Car is the best way to get around here

Houston is so huge, buses and subways only work if you are in downtown and even that, it's just so hassle to get around this way. bring a car, or rent a car is cheaper method for your transportation. getting a cab or uber can get expensive real quick, especially if you want to go sightseeing.

Avoid 1960 from 7-9 am and 5-7 pm

Use the backroad with your google maps to travel to the major highways during the heavy traffic hours.

Houston traffic

I'll be frank: houston traffic is terrible. but with the right planning, you can avoid much of it. just be sure to not to travel during the times of 7a-9a and 4-7p, and you'll miss the worst of it.

It's pretty cheap and you don't have to worry about parking.

Ways to save

Try turo app for better deal on rental car!

Free app that lets you rent a car from a private individual from a beater to a luxury vehicle. prices lower than rental companies. worth a look. houston is a city that is better navigated by car. weather doesn't typically permit pedestrians and with how vast houston is a car is best.

All about Houston

Houston, colloquially known with pride as H-Town, has become a thriving Texas metropolis buzzing with artistic creativity. It’s a major hub for the energy industry and home to NASA’s Space Center, but it also has a thriving improv and comedy scene. Try seeking out a Queen Anne or Folk Victorian, Craftsman, or Folk National home for some local flavor.

Getting there

Whether you travel to George Bush/Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) or William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), it’s a good idea to be mindful to avoid peak evening rush hour (4-7PM). Outside of that, you’ll get downtown within a half hour from either airport. Taxis and rideshare services are available, or you can easily grab a Metro bus and ride into the heart of the city.

Houston is hot. Temperatures rise into sustained days of 90s (Fahrenheit) and triple digits, so summer travel in Houston can take a little extra patience. Winters are mild and can even have warm moments, but temperatures can also drop down into the mid-30s. If you want to take advantage of the great outdoors, you should consider the milder seasons of spring and fall to plan your Texas getaway.
