West Bay Hideaway Keep cozy in our eco friendly cabin situated on Manitoulin Island, in the North Channel of beautiful Lake Huron. It’s the perfect spot if you want a quiet and relaxing retreat with your own private beach, quiet campfires and no city lights to hide the magnificent stars. Tuck your favorite book under your arm, stroll down to the lake and be lulled by the waves or just take in the beauty of your surroundings.
The Hideaway Space If you've ever dreamt of living in a little cabin off grid, here's the perfect opportunity to see what this lifestyle is all about! This two story, 500 square foot small space has so many offerings we hardly know where to start. The cabin is very clean, cozy, comfortable and everything you could want. On the main floor you can snuggle up by the wood stove, cuddle up on the couch or bust out one of the board games you loved to play as a kid. There is a well equipped kitchen with a stove & fridge, plenty of pots & pans and if thats not your gig we have a spacious deck for relaxing and outdoor meals cooked on the Bar-B-Que. The second story space is over looking West Bay. If you’re an early riser you can relax comfortably in the queen bed and watch the sunrise over the La Cloche Mountain range. Or close those shades and sleep in to the peacefulness of the waves. We have a tucked away, trundle bed hideout for two extra guests. And, in a pinch the couch on the main floor is a pull out. Our light system is a limited and solar generated. If you need to keep connected we have one charging port for a phone and cell service is available We supply drinking water that you can use for cooking, washing up, or to make tea or coffee. Just a few steps out of the bunkie is a well kept outhouse with a great view We love our out door shower where fresh clear water is pumped from the North channel to an elevated tank to warm with the sun, but we do have on demand hot water for the faint of heart. In the summer months the breeze off the lake keeps things comfortable. And don't get us started on spring and fall, they're absolutely perfect with the best of both worlds, warm enough to venture outside, and cool enough to still need the wood stove for a romantic night in the snug warm heat. We presume you’re coming to unplug, get quiet and connect to nature but if you’re looking for WiFi and shopping, we are not the right fit for you. If you are looking for a unique experience with a few off-grid perks, we welcome you to join us in our paradise!
What to do, What to do If a more active lifestyle is your thing we are situated just minutes from the Cup & Saucer trail a great way to see some of the beautiful scenery on Manitoulin Island from the cliff lookouts along the trail. The trail runs along part of the Niagara Escarpment which always provides some interesting topography. Bridal Veil Falls is just a hop skip and a jump as we are located five minutes from Kagawong. This is just the tip of the iceberg for hiking enthusiast. Don’t get me started on cycling, Manitoulin Island is a holiday destination that is uniquely appropriate for cycling. The island is home to six Anishinaabe reserves (M'Chigeeng, Sheguiandah, Sheshegwaning, Aundeck Omni Kaning, Wikwemikong and Zhiibaahaasing.) And hold traditional Pow Wows from June to Sept. visitors are invited to join the fun! We have two kayaks for your use and supply life jackets but it is always recommended if you are an avid paddler looking for an excursion to supply your own safety gear.
  • This little cabin is great for a simple, cozy, get away. Very simply set up and easy to manage. It was the perfect size cabin for 2. We loved that they had kayaks available for us to use. We went to the main 3 hiking trails, all with in a 1/2 hr to the cabin. Going the week after thanksgiving we timed the fall colours perfectly! We would most definitely book this cabin agin.

  • Linda and Marc are excellent hosts! The bunkie and property is very beautiful and well planned out. We felt so welcome and at home. They added many thoughtful and warm touches to the place and there was so much to keep us entertained, we didn't even look at our phones. The beach front is perfect for star gazing, sitting by the fire or camping outside and you will be amazed at the view! We felt like we were by the ocean with the sound of the waves through the bedroom window and the bunkie was spotless, beautiful, cosy and very well equiped. The outhouse is also very cute and has a wash up area and counter outside. We loved the wrap around porch and lights at night as well as sitting on the muskoka chairs taking in the peaceful quiet. The fireplace at night made things very cosy and there were plenty of sights to see close by during the day. The hiking spots near by are breath taking as was the scenery on the way. We would definitely love to come back!

  • Honestly felt like we were staying at a family members home. Like your favourite loving auntie who pulls out all the stops for you and cooks you your favourite meal when you visit. Haha. There were so many little caring touches like a greeting basket of goodies you may have forgotten, to supplies to make s’mores. It’s clear when you look around the space that the cabin is a beloved feature in Linda & Marc’s family, and you feel that warmth when you stay there. We traveled as a small family, myself, husband and our three year old. As avid outdoors peoples we thought this semi off grid cabin would require a bit more prep and effort on our part, but man were we wrong, because the way the space and amenities are organized you don’t even miss indoor plumbing. Though we adored the outhouse- sounds silly but it was filled with family photos and impeccably clean- it’s legit just a washroom but outside! And all three of us loved the outdoor shower- which is more cozy and private then you might imagine. The cabin appears newly renovated- it is absolutely the CUTEST. With an incredible loft space for sleeping with the best view of the lake. We were lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the waves. And yes, that water- you have the most seriously private beach front all to yourself! We played there daily with my kiddo, swimming, cooking over the fire pit, tossing stones. It was like a little slice of paradise. There’s too much to say, and not enough space here, from an adorable wood stove fire place for cold nights, to a clear roof and outdoor eating space on the wrap around porch that makes you feel like you are right in the woods, to adorable patio lights and candles for a more romantic evening. On our last day our kiddo begged us not to leave! Already planning our next trip. And I would even like to plan a solo trip to use the space for my own work and writing it was that calming. Oh and Manitoulin has so much to do! We toured all over the island, went out a few times for food, coffee, parks, a splash pad for the kiddo and an incredible time at M’Chigeeng First Nation pow wow. I mean, what more can you ask for. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space Linda and Marc!

    Nicole2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Heaven on Earth! The cottage and property were even better than we expected. The covered wrap around porch is bigger than it looks and serves as an outdoor living space. There is a treehouse with a swing for the kiddos. It is central to many of the towns and attraction of the island and while most people along the shoreline were around, we had ultimate privacy and felt like the only ones around. Linda and Marc have done a wonderful job of creating a rustic getaway while still providing all of the creature comforts.

    Quinn2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s and Marc’s Place is what we are dreaming of. There is a very special spirit around the house. If you look for a peaceful, calm and relaxing spot off grit, this is your place to be. We absolutely loved the fact, that we haven’t had anything to worry about. Just take the day as it is. Living off grit for some days is not difficult because Linda and Marc prepared everything so thoughtfully. Finding your daily routine around the house, washing dishes, taking a outdoor shower with fresh lake water, like Mother Nature offers it to you, is a relief. You are far away from your daily life and you can just enjoy your time reading, having a fire at the fire pit, or go Kayaking. There is so much to explore around the house and after the one night in the very comfortable bed, hearing the waves all night long through the wide open window, you feel even better. The nature on the island is very interesting and we could see the rural beauty of the area. The colours, the fresh air and really great hiking trail gave us the possibility to relax in a very short time. We would absolutely love to come back very soon. Thank you so very much for having us, Linda and Marc.

    Laura2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a quaint relaxing get away spot. Perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors and connecting with nature. Would 100% recommend Linda and Marc to others, and we will certainly come back again!

  • West Bay Hideaway is a gem that offers you the opportunity to reconnect while surrounded by the serenity of nature. It provides everything you need to enhance your time on beautiful Manitoulin Island. The shower is hot, bed comfortable and view spectacular!

    Lisa2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • West bay Hideaway has so much charm and it is so peaceful. Every space is used so purposefully in the cottage, the porch is the coziest and so lovely for a morning coffee! The outhouse could not be cuter or cleaner and has just as much charm as the rest of the place. The beach is so close and full of great fossils, crayfish and minnows! There is a great fire pit at the beach to relax by at night. We saw so much wildlife during our stay. It was such a great spot to sit back and relax for the week!

  • I really loved this place. It was perfect for myself and my dog. Unfortunately the weather kind of sucked so we didn't get to use the outdoor shower which looked so great. It was a great little cabin and Craig heated it up for me, which was nice as it was raining and cold when I arrived. Amazing bed too! Very cozy spot. I loved the dock and the walks around Oakley's Place. We went for a beautiful morning walk in the area and spotted a family of deer in the field nearby. So quiet and beautiful in this area. I'd highly recommend.

  • The bunkie is very lovely. We stayed there two nights and had a very good time. In the Bunkie we had everything we needed. It was nice to use the outdoor shower and we could see a beautiful sunset at the waterfront. Sharon and her husband were very nice and welcoming.

  • The Bunkie was very cute ! It had everything we needed for our stay . I had no problem with the outhouse and the outdoor shower was very nice evening though it was a tad chilly out . Our host was very friendly and showed us everything we needed . I hope to be back again for more than one night in the future.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the Bunkie. The location was great and we really loved that the place was right on the water and that we could sit on the dock and go swimming. Sharon and Craig were very friendly and accommodating and let us borrow their kayaks which was great! We would highly recommend staying at this property.

  • Staying at Melanie's was great. It's a spacious room with nice amenaties and stylishly decorated. Would definitely stay again.

    Hugo2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie’s home is a wonderful place to stay, in a lovely location on the lake. The suite is totally private and she has created a luxurious, relaxing haven for any type of traveller. The bed is huge and comfortable, and the bedding and towels are top of line. Melanie generously provided all we needed for breakfast each day, fully stocked fridge with fresh milk, cream, juice, and jams. Bread, cereals, coffee, teas etc. It was more like a small apartment than a bedroom. Crowning glories were the chocolates on the pillow, handmade soap, and beautiful bottles of herbal sprays. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home and thank Melanie for being such a wonderful host.

  • Super cosy and clean Airbnb in a nice and quiet village. Melanie welcomed us warmly and took really good care of us. She even provided some toys for our daughter. The room and also attached bathroom is spacious. It’s also very convenient that there is separate little room for clothes/suitcases. We would definitely come back. Manitoulin island is beautiful - the cup and saucer trail with magnificent views is only short drive away.

  • We had a great stay at Feather and Fern. Melanie was an ideal host, available and helpful but never intrusive. She gave us great advice on eating places in Gore Bay, Lakes we could consider for our kayaking trips, and even made us banana muffins. The room was spacious, and had a very comfortable King sized bed. We would definitely recommend Feather and Fern to others.

A country retreat on 10 acres of forest a short drive from what was voted the most beautiful town in Canada, small, peaceful Kagawong. Close to a boat launch and a sand beach, enjoy the view of Clapperton island, watch the sunset, or go for a swim.
Imagine cottage. Small, quaint and very cute on the inside. On the outside you have much land to explore at your leisure and fire ban dependant, bonfires are certainly allowed
Neighbors are far and few between. You wont be bothered or be bothering anyone out here
  • Kyle is an amazing host. Much of our time together we spent chatting. He’s a very good conversationalist and a very interesting young fellow. I would highly recommend Kyle‘s home to people. The setting of this house is serene and I can only imagine how much better the wooded 10 acres his home sits on will appear in the summer.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of fun. Nice location. Definitely worth checking out.

    Hamza2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle responded quickly to accommodate me on short notice. He is very personable and friendly. His house is located in a beautifully forested setting and his pricing is very fair. I plan to stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

  • Awesome , enjoyed stay and place , it’s really epic

    Mohammed2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's home was quaint and comfortable, and situation in a beautiful location. He was extremely helpful with giving us insiders tips of the area, kindly showed us to the local beach, and provided us with much wood for a great bond fire. This is a great place to stay while exploring what the Island has to offer!

    Laura2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle’s place was perfect, exactly as described. We visited on the thanksgiving long weekend, and had the whole place to ourselves since he was away visiting family. He was very open and communicative, a minor hiccup was that he suggested us not to drink the tap water and there was some in the fridge. We went and bought more next time we were out from the Freshmart about 20mins away. All in all a wonderful stay. Would love to go back.

    Guillaume2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Sharon's cottage. Cottage was clean and located a short walk from a beautiful beach. Had the pleasure of seeing several deer along the way and experienced Manitoulin's quaint towns.

    Tuan2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sharon’s place. The cottage was cute, clean, quiet and peaceful . Our only complaint would be we wish we could have stayed longer. Manitoulin is beautiful and Sharon’s place was a great way to relax on the private beach after a busy day of hiking and exploring the island.

  • Very enjoyable week on Manitoulin and we had all we needed at the cottage. We stayed at the smaller cottage and the other one was not occupied. Beautiful sunsets. I did get into the water there a few times ,with a little care and really enjoyed the swimming. The water looks so clean. The kitchen was well-equipped and spotless. We enjoyed the Wednesday Market in Kagawong, visiting spots in Mindemoya, and Providence Bay as well as the Perivale Art Gallery and relaxing in the cottage screened porch.

    Janice2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the smaller of the the two cottages in Spring Bay. It is very well located on the island, very central, and right on a quiet road with lake access literally across the road. The cottage is very well set up for comfort, everything you need is there, clean as a whistle, comfortable bed and screened in porch that was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the sunsets, the breeze, and frequently to eat our meals. Paul and Lisa were extremely attentive to our needs, it was such a pleasure interacting with them they are wonderful people and hosts. We are already looking for a way to return with more family members and rent both cottages. Cycling, swimming and kayaking are at your doorstep here, air is fresh and lake is crystal clear. Wonderful experience! Thanks Paul and Lisa!

    Susan2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's cottages delivered on everything promised in the advertisement. The cottage was very clean, very comfortable and a perfect place to lay our heads after a great day exploring Manitoulin Island. The location of the cottage is central to various destinations and attractions on the Island which made for nice easy drives each day. We were thoroughly impressed with the cottage and would come back again and recommend to friends. Thanks so much.

Welcome to Manitoulin Permaculture! We are an eclectic community of infectiously warm and welcoming humans that are exploring ways of living that nurture each other and the land we share. We recently dedicated a private, lakeside Airstream for guests. A full bed with linens and bedding is provided for your stay (couch available also). There are shared composting toilets a short walk from the Airstream. If you are inclined, you are welcome to join us for communal dinners Monday to Saturday.
There are volunteers from around the globe coming and going from our little corner of paradise. If you have any farm proclivities and want to help (no expectation) pull weeds, collect eggs, harvest veggies or pitch in with dinner prep, you are certainly welcome to. The plusses: - the space is beautiful and you'll have a wide open view of the sunsets every night right from your door - the frogs will sing you to sleep The minuses: - the Airstream is close to the community kitchen which serves as the main meeting point for our community during dinners. - there is power but no water You can choose your level of interaction with the others here. There is a considerable amount of wildlife on the property or passing through. You may find yourself sharing a pathway with a skunk or porcupine, encounter snakes, frogs, turtles, and toads, with many birds coming and going.
  • The locale could not have been more perfect. The energy surrounding the entire property is amazing. We could not have felt more welcomed. It was a shame that our visit was so late in the year. It would have been nice to get out in the canoe, but the weather wasn't too cooperative...the sauna more than made up for it though! Thanks Justin

  • Great host, great property! If you’re lucky you might even eat some great food and learn something about permaculture! 10/10

    Michael2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the airstream was great. It has everything you need with the Kitchen and solar shower close by. The crew at the farm was very friendly and inviting, with lots of ideas about what to do on the island. We had a great time would stay there again for sure.

    Ian2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fascinating and lively place to stay. The formal assessment criteria don't really apply to somewhere that has comfortable tents or a vintage Airstream for sleeping, composting toilets and a solar shower, and a welcome to join in a communal meal in the evening and a make-your-own breakfast in the morning. We loved it and would love the chance to go again. We learned a bit more about permaculture and the ups and downs of seeking truly sustainable alternatives for growing your own food. Justin was welcoming, as was the very warm and informative Corine .

  • A community of great caring people. Open for invites, great meals, and good conversation. A 12 out of 10!

  • Cool little old camper! Beautiful views, fun things to do onsite, and good vibes from all the people. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Jacq2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is absolute magic. Late night sauna after watching the incredible sunset at our feet from the Airstream through cat tails and wildflowers from the marsh, after a delicious communal dinner with interesting conversation that we were openly encouraged to join, which followed a visit to Bridal Veil Falls that we took with the community. Good vibes alll over the place :) The stay here was the highlight of our Manitoulin experience! Welcomed by great people, gardens, chickens, froggies, hammocks and a swing... Life is most excellent :)

    Shayla2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s place was super cool. The view from the airstream is totally unmatchable. It was so nice being able to fall asleep with the sound of the grass and frogs. The airstream itself is actually quite spacious while being super cozy. The restrooms are very nice and updated. Everyone we interacted with while staying was a joy to talk to. Wished we could have stayed longer!

  • Wonderful place to stay, Patrick and Betty are super A+++

    Dustin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 3 nights at Lakeshore B&B in Kagawong and were very pleased. The facilities are very clean and the location is convenient on Manitoulin Island. The dock and sunset views are incredible. It was very nice to have have private bathroom, with super fluffy towels, and access to kitchenette and common area, where we enjoyed chatting with other guests. The provided breakfast items--muffins, juice, bread and toast fixings, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and tea-- much appreciated as a start for busy days spent exploring Manitoulin, as there aren't many breakfast restaurants nearby (and less so in the off season). You can bring supplemental foods as well for variety ; we got some stuff at the local grocery. Other reviews mentioned a cat, Sophie, which concerned me due to allergies, but the cat is not an issue, so have no fear. The 4 bedrooms and common areas of the B&B are in a separate addition to the house and there is no interaction with any animals that may be in the house. Host Patrick was very helpful at check-in time.

  • Great place with a gorgeous dock and water access. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the common spaces as we got to meet other travellers. We would definitely stay here again!

  • The location by the lake ist really beautiful. The room was very clean. Very friendly hosts. We would books it again.

  • Had a wonderful stay at this lovely B&B. We were greeted right away by Becky and their kittie Sophie and felt right at home. After camping it was nice to have our own private bathroom and a hot shower. The highlight of our stay was relaxing on the dock watching the perfect sunset over the water! Woke up and had ourselves a nice breakfast before getting back on the road.

    Anna2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay with Patrick and Becky! Check in was easy and quick. Patrick was very helpful in providing some suggestions of things to do. The room is simply decorated, but it is spotless. And yes, the sunsets truly are as spectacular as advertised. This is a great value and a lovely quiet place to stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Built in 2018, our off-grid cedar cabin is tucked away in a mixed woodland on beautiful Manitoulin Island. It is uniquely decorated with antiques, thrift store finds and handicrafts collected from our travels around the world as far as Africa, Japan, Costa Rica and Canada’s Arctic. Our space is an inviting space to unwind, unplug and wake up to the sounds of the birds after enjoying the stars on a clear night.
There is an outdoor solar shower is set among the cedars in a separate building a short walk from the cabin at the back of our property. Powered by the sun, guests can enjoy a warm shower in the forest. Fresh towels, soap, biodegradable shampoo and conditioner will be provided for guest use. Should you wish to bring your own amenities we ask that they are eco-friendly and biodegradable as the runoff goes directly into the ground. We also have a basic outdoor kitchen next to the cabin set up with a Coleman stove where you can prepare and eat your meals. Plates, bowls, cups, silverware as well as a French Press available to make coffee will be available to guests in the outdoor kitchen. Cooking pots, pans and a kettle will also be available for guest use. And we request that both cooking and eating happen outside of the cedar cabin as food attracts unwanted visitors. Please note that we do not have a refrigerator or an oven. Your food can be stored in a ‘boxed in’ locked cooler - however you will need to provide your own ice to keep it cool. The cedar cabin in the woods is powered by two solar panels. When the sun is shining and the panels are charging there is power. However on cloudy or rainy days when the power IS LIMITED we ask that you be mindful of what you plug in i.e. a cell phone or laptop charger etc. Unfortunately plugging in anything else (i.e. hair dryers and other accessories etc.) could draw too much power and could potentially drain or damage the batteries. It is also best to ‘plug in’ during the daytime so that the sun can recharge the batteries. There is also campfire pit with wood outside of the cabin for guests to use and enjoy. We just ask that you don't leave the fire unattended and when you are finished that the fire is completely out. When summers are dry there can be island wide fire bans - if this is a concern we will let guests know.
We are located about 10 minutes south of Gore Bay along Hwy 542 (heading south to Providence Bay) where you can find most amenities i.e. grocery store, health food store, hardware store and post office. We are centrally located on Manitoulin Island, making it a great home base while taking day trips around the island.
  • Sarah & Scott have created such a beautiful spot in the woods! The cabin, outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower (although chilly!) were perfect. Their communication about check-in etc was great and they provided us with more than we needed. Would definitely recommend a stay if you are in the area

    Marsha2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin away from the world. There are tons of things to do on the island , and while the cabin is perfectly isolated it is still close to amenities and activities. Sarah and Scott were great hosts.

    D2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott have such an incredible cabin. You could tell how much thought and care was put into this space. The cabin is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is very peaceful on their property. We loved our stay and regret not staying longer.

    Kristina2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott’s cabin in the woods does not disappoint. The space is amazing and well thought out. The bed was amazing. 2 of the best night sleeps we’ve had. We would definitely come again and recommend to friends.

    Natasha2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely worth checking out! Sarah and Scott are both wonderful people, you won’t regret staying here :) gorgeous area, and an absolutely amazing escape from the stresses of life.

    Brad2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott's cabin is the perfect place to stay on Manitoulin. They were incredibly welcoming and generous. The cabin is well located for exploring the island, yet you feel tucked away in your own world. The cabin is so comfortable and cosy and beautifully decorated with care and personal touches. The outdoor kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need and we really enjoyed spending two nights by the fire, which is amply fuelled with wood left out by Sarah and Scott. Overall it was a magical stay, I highly recommend it!

    Laura2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing! It's comfortable, relaxing, and really beautiful - with lots of thoughtful and handy touches like interesting books and brochures, a basket of boardgames, a handheld LED lamp for getting around outside after dark, and even reading material in the outhouse. The kitchen was really well equipped - better than a lot of AirBnBs I've stayed in. Sarah and Scott were also responsive and super helpful on arrival, and they clearly have an eye for design. Everything was easy to use, even for hapless non-campers like us. Can't say enough good things about it!

    Megan2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights at Sarah and Scott’s cabin in the woods. It was a very unique experience in an amazing location. The islands are beautiful and fun to explore, and they made great suggestions for our day trips. The fire pit was a great place to end the evening before an extremely restful sleep in their exquisite bed. We loved the details in the decor and we found the outdoor kitchen and shower setup to be a creative way to experience camping. Scott was always quick to respond and help out, we appreciate it very much. X

Private Cottage on 15+ acres, with 300′+ of shoreline. Access to 600'+ of shoreline and 20 to 50 acres of property. Two bathrooms Full kitchen, including fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher and microwave. Large BBQ outside. All water runs through a purification system, with a tap in kitchen also running through a reverse osmosis (RO) system, so drink water and bath/shower worry free. The family room has a 46″ smart TV hooked to a satellite receiver with movie & sports packages, DVD player (with DVDs on site), stereo, and Microsoft XBox (with a collection of popular video games). Washer and Dryer on site. Basically all the amenities of home in a private setting (but only 10 minutes from town). There are games, puzzles, many books (some about the area), lawn chairs/patio chairs, picnic tables, sandbox, horseshoe pits, a canoe, quite a number of things to help you enjoy your stay. A secluded 3 bedroom cottage with over 600 feet of lakefront. There are actually 2 cottages, that rent out separately, on over 55 acres of land. We do not rent out both cottages to the same group of people as we've had problems doing this in the past. The cottage is on a small bay, known as Patterson Bay, on a fairly large lake called Lake Kagawong. Lake Kagawong is the 2nd largest lake on Manitoulin Island. It takes about one hour to drive around the lake. Manitoulin Island has over 100 lakes and is a gorgeous example of how beautiful Ontario is. The two cottages are private from each other, about a city block apart, with trees left in between for privacy. This cottage is tucked a little further back from the lake (about 200 feet). There is a large dock at this cottage. There is room to park 10+ vehicles in the parking area. The property consists of about 1/2 acre of lawn around the cottage. Out in front of that is the lake, limestone shoreline (the closest public sandy beach is in Gore Bay about 15 minutes away) with trees, an open field to the east, cedar forest, mixed forest finish off the property. There is a path through the bush on the property where we’ve seen a fair bit of Ontario wildlife. There is a bonfire area, a sand box, horse shoe pits, washline. The cottage is called White Pine Vista because of the towering white pines (fairly unusual to the island) out front of the cottage. We do NOT allow parties at this property.
3 Bedroom, Lakeside Manitoulin Cottage. Private Cottage on 15+ acres, with 300′+ of shoreline. • The place is great, with all the modern amenities you need, while also providing the isolation you're looking for. The lake is right by the cottage and provides a stunning backdrop. Larry was a really good host and very easy to work with. He also provided us with some great local insights on places to see.

Newly renovated and remodeled cottage located on beautiful Lake Kagawong, situated in the centre of Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The two bedroom cottage features a three piece bath, a queen sized bed, a bunk bed with a single bed on the top and a double on the bottom, and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottage is insulated and offers a furnished screened- in porch with a beautiful view of the lake and private deck off the back of the cottage.
  • Third year in a row and we will be back again next year. Love everything about this place! We messaged Paul one day to let him know the coffee maker had stopped working. He showed up at the door 5 minutes later with another coffee maker! Now that's service!

  • Beautifully updated cottage with view of the lake. Paul and Lisa were great host.

    Valerie2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great cottage with a beautiful lakefront. Photos shown don’t do it justice, it is much better than what you see in the pictures. Very clean and stylish. Paul has paid attention to even the smallest details. Kitchen has every appliance and utensils one could wish for. The bathroom is very clean. Very comfy beds. The property itself is lovely - so much space. We really enjoyed our stay for a very reasonable price. The only thing to consider is garbage. You must take it with you at the end of stay and the local dump site hours may not be very convenient depending on your departure. We had to take our garbage to Tobermory and our car stank like high heaven. This is not to say I blame the host for it but just something to consider and properly plan for.

    Elinor2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage experience was one for the books. Paul and Lisa have thought of every small detail to make you feel at home. We enjoyed nights by the campfire, kayaking off the dock, watching the sunsets, and playing scrabble in the screened in porch. It was just what we needed for our holiday. The decor is modern but doesn't away from the "cottage" feel. To find out Lisa's artwork not only hangs at the Perivale art gallery, a short walk down the road, but on the walls of their accommodation was also a beautiful touch. We would highly recommend to friends and family. Manitoulin once again did not disappoint. -Katelyn and Darren

A secluded 4 bedroom cottage with over 300 feet of lakefront. We wanted to ensure that you will have plenty of privacy at this cottage. This cottage is as close to the lake as the by-law allows (66′ from the high water mark). There are horse shoe pits, a sand box and about a quarter acre of lawn at the cottage. There is a dock, with a buoy offshore for tying up a boat. Lots of people, of all ages, have enjoyed swimming out front of the cottage over the years. The property is on a small bay (Patterson Bay) in the South West of Lake Kagawong, a fairly large lake (it would take about 1 hour to drive around the lake on the local roads). The property consists of open field, cedar forest, mixed forest and limestone shoreline. If you take a walk around dawn or dusk don’t be surprised to see a deer or other animals wandering around. Enjoy the clean air/water. Star gaze at night around the fire pit and wake up in the morning to the call of a loon. A place to really get away from it all, also a place to explore the magnificent beauty and character of Manitoulin Island. The cottage is called Eagle View because a bald eagle soared overhead the day we received the front door key.

This cottage has a spectacular view on the spacious deck and boat dock. Listen to the loons and watch the eagles soar over this magnificent lake. Crystal clear water to enjoy swimming and fishing or just lounge on the dock. Lake Manitou is the largest lake on the island and it offers great fishing for perch, bass, pike and lake trout.

  • Kelly was a great host! Kelly was very quick to answer questions and give us check-in instructions. The cottage appeared as advertised and was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing and peaceful weekend. We comfortably slept 5 adults, and there was plenty of room to lounge around. The cottage is close to a few hiking trails, and we visited Bridal Veil Falls and Kagawong as an outing. I would rent this cottage again, and would recommend it! Thanks Kelly!

  • The cottage was so beautiful. It was cozy and sparkling clean! The deck that over looks the lake is spectacular! You could spend hours on there listening to the loons; talking in the morning over coffee or relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine. The hosts are the most inviting and friendly people, they make you feel right at home. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend this place!!!!

My son enjoyed his time here - it's lovely for outdoorsy kids. Anong lives nearby and is a wonderful host, very thoughtful and generous. On our last night, when a strong storm hit, she suggested we move to a beautiful hotel and booked us a room there. Very kind of her. :)

Beautiful location, great amenities (fridge and kettle!) and thoughtful touches - we were welcomed with drinks in the fridge, treats and snacks (which we unfortunately forgot about after going out to eat, but still so kind and thoughtful). • Great with quick responses and answering all my detailed questions. Many little touches to make it a very unique experience. I would suggest bringing a lighter as the matches provided were wet accidentally, bring extra blankets, kitchen tent or tarp if it rains and water shoes to go swimming. Only a couple of sections of rocks while you walk out into the water but I cut my foot on one of them. It’s a beautiful area and would definitely book again.

  • We had such a wonderful evening at the Dreamcatcher, and enjoyed the experience a great deal. The location is absolutely superb and unforgettable. It was comfortable, thoughtful, beautiful and down-to-earth. Loved it. Thank you Anong!

  • What a fantastic find. Fabulous views , special touches (local coffee, cream and milk in the fridge, the best blankets, sage for smudging). Have already recommended. :) A uniquely wonderful stay. Thanks Angong!

  • Hidden jam in Manitoulin Island. Perfect for a group of 12 people. It was quite windy and the paddle boat was broken that’s why we couldn’t enjoy in the private beach. However, we had a pleasant stay in Betty’s place. Nearby amenities, access to beach, fishing docks, Bridal Veil Falls, hiking and walking trails are great for family vacation. Betty responded to my all emails and queries promptly. We appreciate her quick email response system.

We are locate in the town of Kagawong, not Gore Bay as listed. Our modern B & B on beautiful Lake Kagawong offers you a newly decorated private room with queen size bed & your own private 3 piece bathroom. Complimentary self serve continental breakfast with shared kitchenette & common room with sat tv. • This is a nice property with its own jetty by the lake where you can enjoy watching the sun going down in the evening. It is close to bridal falls but some 20km from most of the available restaurants in the area - so better to be prepared for self catering.

  • This was exactly what we were looking for, to disconnect. We loved having our own private hideaway; it was an added bonus it was so close to the downtown core of Gore Bay. The views were amazing. We spent time at the brewery and walking along the water. We also chose this place for its proximity to water bc we love to kayak. The cabin was super clean; loved the smell of the wood inside. The sauna was also a great amenity. I wish we would have stayed longer!

  • It was our second visit to this lovely cabin in the woods this year and we had a wonderful time. The cabin is so thoughtfully organized and it accommodated every need of all our family members. The cabin is secluded, but yet town is right there. I love it. Gore Bay is cute and quaint. The locals are friendly. Great location. Can't wait to visit again. :)

  • Wonderful location and cottage! Very peaceful and great for spending quality time with family or friends!

    Deeksha2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It is very secluded and beautiful. It is only a couple minute drive to the Gore Bay look out which we would drive to and watch the sunset. Our dog was able to run the property freely. It was our first time using a bag style camp shower which was interesting for a 5 day stay but the sauna made it much more bearable. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

    Ruth2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for peaceful, very quiet and like to rough it a little this is the place, took my 2 dogs here they loved it and I loved it, so if you want quiet maybe to read or just unwind this is the place to do it

    Greg2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was beautiful, I loved our stay. My daughter and her friend adored the sauna and cute bedrooms. My dog loved running around the yard and I loved the whole place. Definitely coming back next year.

They were very friendly and forthcoming with ideas of what to do in the area and places to visit. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have found myself at Ten Mile Point, which was a great drive/trip. The loft hugs you with its warmth from the moment you walk in the door. High-end amenities and well designed space will allow you to enjoy the peace of the island from the comfort of this tranquil get-away.
The Loft is one of our newer buildings, with in-floor heating and fully winterized. It's cozy. In the summer, enjoy your coffee on the deck with views of the lake from above. In the winter, heat up in the sauna and relax in front of the fireplace. It's a perfect get away or for longer-term stays.
You're in the wilderness, so expect to see animals. This is one of 8 cabins on the property, so you're bound to see other vacationers during the peak vacation months. Less so during the winter.

  • If you're looking for a cozy and modern lofted space than look no further. There are many comforts while staying including the sauna and fireplace if you're there in chillier months. The area is quiet and relaxing, a great place to stargaze and see sights. If your looking for a return to nature then this is the place for you as you will be willing to unplug and enjoy yourself. Kyra was very helpful and friendly during our stay, and the loft thoughtfully provides every amenity that you could think of including an appliance stocked kitchen and dishes, you only need to bring food. All in all I will be returning to the island and this will be the first place I will look to stay in when that day comes. :)

    Renee2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Camp Mary Anne is as amazing as it’s pictures- and there is a sauna- something I didn’t realise on booking!! Be prepared to unplug as there isn’t really any internet- but that was what we were after! Beautiful positioning the little town of Mindemoya was very close for food shops etc. Would highly recommend.

  • Beautiful spot on Lake Manitou especially for those who like to fish. Quick and easy access to the water and a generous parking area for larger vehicles towing boats and trailers.

    Alisa2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place to stay! The stars at night are unreal, the cottage is gorgeous and we had the most wonderful time at Camp Maryanne and exploring Manitoulin Island!

  • We, family with 2 children (9 and 11) spent 3 nights in "The Loft". Accommodation: well maintained and super clean. Sunrises like in a picture book! Clear recommendation! Hostess is easy to reach and super helpful! To all who have to eat gluten-free: 10 minutes to Mindemoya "Grill n Chill", also the small supermarket has much to offer! Any time!

Century farmhouse on Manitoulin Island, close to world-famous Bridal Veil Falls and the town of Kagawong, described as "Ontario's prettiest village". The Island is a very healing place... You’ll love the quiet, and the river, and the birds, and the fireflies in the pitch darkness.... and if you’re lucky, the deer may come for a visit. Backing on the beautiful Kagawong River, renowned for paddling. Just a few hundred yards up the river and you're in the vast and beautiful Lake Kagawong.
  • If you like shiny and new, this is not the place for you. If, however, you love history, nature, rural immersion and privacy- this is the hands down winner. I loved the antique, quirky architecture of this quaint little farm house. The accommodations were neat and tidy, and Bill was a generous, accommodating and responsive host (via text). The location could not have been better as a base to explore the entire island, and the fact that we could walk to charming Kagawong (of the delectable Chocolate Works, Boo-Bah-Lou Candy Corner and Bridal Veil Falls and its trail with intriguing woodland sculptures...) was a bonus. Everyday, a different species of fauna appeared in the yard, from Sandhill Cranes, White-tailed deer and fawns (chowing down on Bill's apple trees), Eastern Wood Phoebes and really bold hummingbirds demonstrating impressive aerial acrobatics... if the windows are left open, and you are lucky, you may hear the call of cranes, yelp of the red fox or howl of the coyotes (of course, if nocturnal noises annoy- keep the windows closed). It was a veritable paradise of wildlife. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates simpler times and the joys of nature. Angelique

  • Magical place. 2nd time staying at Bill's and I wish I could stay longer. If you love Manitoulin wildlife, you will love it here. So much to see and do. Location is perfect. Bill is an incredible host, excellent communication and had setup some things for me to make my vacation even better. Thank you Bill! You are an incredible host.

    Mike2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully furnished house in the middle of nature. Great are the boats down the river. Kitchen well equipped. Unfortunately a bit dusty / dirty. But still recommended.

    Heidrun2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bill's place is a great home base to visit many parts of the island. Bridal Veil Falls is a 10 minute walk and so is Kagawong. Other towns are 20-45 minutes away. The house is rustic and charming, the beds are comfortable. You are certainly in the country, with the Kagawong river a short walk away. I would rent Bill's home again.

    Francis2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wife and I loved staying here. Secluded but centrally located to everything . We spent our days exploring Manitoulin Island and retreat back to the house and take a canoe ride through the riverand into the lake. We saw some deer and sandhill cranes up close on the property. Bill was a great host. Excellent communication throughout. We would love to go back again soon.

  • Proved to be a nice quiet base camp for exploring the island and the nearby town of Kagawong. There is the Bridal Veil falls and 2 beaches within a couple of minutes. Sandy Beach is a bit more secluded, further up Main St/Maple Dr. There is a market in Kagawong on Wednesdays with local fares where we picked up some souvenirs The town has the only off leash dog park on the island! (Kagawong Canine Social Club). The century house has character but is stocked with espresso machine, lots of kitchen tools, and quick wifi service! Bill checked in with us throughout to make sure things were well.

It's a single floor log cottage with a retro feel. The walls are the old style paneling and vinyl flower flooring to give you the true feeling of being at camp.
This place consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a pull out couch. There's a lake side view with a walk out dock to enjoy the sunset or the stillness of the water. There are many beautiful landscapes and flower arrangements that give this place true character. The front porch overlooks the wide open yard and lakefront, it's a great place to just sit and relax!
Manitoulin island consists of many breath taking views including bridal veil falls, cup and saucer trail, cruise on the chicheemaun to tobermory, Many great fishing spots! less than 20 minute drive from mindemoya and providence bay. 25 minutes from Gore bay. It's a great central location for manitoulin and easy access to all it has to offer!
  • The cottage we stayed in was very clean and close to pretty much everything we planned on doing during our time on the island. Peaceful setting and so many apple trees! What a treat! And thank you, Kyle, for being so accommodating! We had a great vacation!

    Carole2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had an amazing time at Kim and Kyle's cabin. It was a perfect way to end the summer. The cabin was clean, cozy and close to attractions like the Cup and Saucer Trail and Bridal Veil Falls. Our kids enjoyed swimming and catching fish at the waterfront. We couldn't have had a better experience. Thanks again Kim and Kyle! We hope to visit again in the future.

  • Kim’s cottage getaway was an amazing cottage for our first experience on Manitoulin Island! It was very clean and close to pretty much everything we planned on doing during our time on the island. The water was amazing and so clear! We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to experience the island 😊

    Ashley2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Kim’s cottage! The cottage is as described and shown in the photos. It feels a little like you are stepping back in time when you enter the cottage with a lot of the fixtures and appliances feeling like they might be the originals installed. We had everything we needed to make all our own meals and it was easy to go fill up water at the spring to use for all our drinking and cooking water. The lake waterfront is across the road and was a lovely spot to lounge and swim. There was plenty of space in the back and front yard to run our dog and then cool off swimming in the lake. If you want a low key, remote location for a getaway, this is an excellent spot.

    Gwynneth2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Kyle were both easy to work with and friendly. Make sure you GPS the road as east and not west (its listed wrong on Airbnb and you will be lost for sure) Great choice for a rustic get away. Beds are comfortable and there is a pull out couch plus two other couches if needed. Fans and lawn chairs on site. waterfront access is a very quick walk across a quiet road and there is a shallow beach there beside it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants comfortable, quiet and authentic and doesn't expect a white on white magazine staged cottage. I would go back!!

  • Beautiful location! The lake is amazing! The dock and sand beach were great for swimming and docking our boat. The cottage had everything we wanted and the owners were very helpful, available and approachable. We would definitely book this location again.

Welcome to Manitoulin Permaculture! We are an eclectic community of infectiously warm and welcoming humans that are exploring ways of living that nurture each other and the land we share. We recently created a private, lakeside "glamping" space for guests. A queen bed with linens and bedding is provided for your stay. There are shared composting toilets a short walk from the tent.
The plusses: - the space is beautiful and you'll have a wide open view of the gardens and the western tree lined sunset every night right from your door - the frogs will sing you to sleep The minuses: - the tent is close to the community kitchen which serves as the main meeting point for our community during dinners. You can choose your level of interaction with the others here. There is a considerable amount of wildlife on the property or passing through. You may find yourself sharing a pathway with a skunk or porcupine, encounter snakes, frogs, turtles, and toads, with many birds coming and going.
  • Thank you for the warm welcome. I had an amazing time, watching stars, sharing communal dinner and listening to the guitar. Loved it!

  • Justin, his mom, and crew were great hosts. The property is very unique with a lot of interesting projects happening in the area od sustainability. The location was perfect for exploring Manitoulin Island, the bed was comfy, and evrything was top notch. Highly recommended!

    Rob2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This permaculture community is a real gem for anyone yearning a simple yet connected lifestyle. I especially am grateful that the hosts walk the walk consistently - there was free locally grown dinner with mostly certified organic ingredients. Inspiring!

    Kristine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s space is truly one of a kind and pictures just don’t do this property justice. The community of individuals living and visiting at Manitoulin Permaculture were instantly welcoming to my girlfriend and I. They offered us dinner when we arrived and greeted us in the morning with breakfast. The tent itself was a very spacious and comfortable environment. I could say so many good things about Justin’s property... he has really thought of everything from a sauna to the outdoor kitchen, this place has it all. The only negative thing I would have to say is that we only spent one night here and didn’t feel as though we had time to experience everything Manitoulin Permaculture had to offer - we would definitely love to return next summer!

    Kathleen2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful community of very kind and generous people. Our stay with them was very interesting and enjoyable. The permaculture gardens are out standing and Justin’s creativity is reflected throughout the entire property. We would stay there again in a heart beat! Isaac & Anita

  • We arrived late at night everything was dark outside and we found our tent. In the morning we woke up in the middle of a “playground”. We loved the atmosphere and would’ve loved to stay longer!

  • Justin's place is fantastic for those looking for great hospitality, friendly people all around a unique stay. The accommodation, invites to dinner, views, garden and nearby hikes exceeded our expectations. Glamping at its best!

There is a private composting toilet next to your tent. If you are inclined, you are welcome to join us for communal dinners.
There are volunteers from around the globe coming and going from our little corner of paradise. If you have any farm proclivities and want to help (no expectation) pull weeds, collect eggs, harvest veggies or pitch in with dinner prep, you are certainly welcome to. The guest Lotus Belle tent is located in a private spot and you can choose your level of interaction with the others here. The plusses: - the space is beautiful and private - the frogs will sing you to sleep The minuses: - there is some road noise (not much at night). - the tent is in a relatively sunny spot. If the weather gets hot and there is no wind, we can provide a fan. If it is just too hot, we have other spaces that are often available that aren't quite as fancy but will be cooler. There is a considerable amount of wildlife on the property or passing through. You may find yourself sharing a pathway with a skunk or porcupine, encounter snakes, frogs, turtles, and toads, with many birds coming and going. Most of our property is wheelchair(ish) friendly. Please get in touch if you want specific details.
We're located on a rural stretch of Hwy 540. Not exactly a neighborhood. The closest town is Little Current (10 min by car, 30 - 40 min by bike). You can find most things there that are you likely to want to need. On farm we host Workawayers, WWOOFers, cross country cyclists, and interns from around the planet. There can be many languages happening at once at the dinner table! This summer we are opening our place to the worldschooling community (parents who travel with kids). Expect kiddo and family energy to permeate the communal spaces much of the time.
  • Justin, thank you thousands times for sharing this place with us and other members of this nice community. This is a wonderful way to live a life. Keep going. It is inspiring.

    Richard2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying at Justin's. He's very transparent in his profile about everything, so nothing was unexpected. The location is easy to find and is pretty central to visiting other places. The frogs, chipmunks, chickens, and other critters were my favourite part! Wish I could have stayed longer.

    Cassandra2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • An inspiring place to stay. Beautiful scenery and a welcoming host. The lotus bell is a cool experience and very comfy bed, easy to use composting toilets, sauna, communal kitchen and solar powered outdoor shower!

  • Great place

    Lilliane2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. There is a really great community of people that were welcoming to us and others who were passing through. We liked chatting with everyone about all the interesting projects they have going on. We definitely learnt a lot. The lotus tent was great. Sitting on the little patio out front of it in the evenings while looking at the stars made for a couple of beautiful nights.

    Ainsley2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Justin is a wonderful host. The lotus bell was private clean and very comfortable. We felt very welcome here.

  • We stayed in this beautiful garden paradise. It is cool later in the season, but there are very positive vibes here. Good people and a fun, unique space

  • What a lovely experience! The entire time I felt like I was at a spa between the yoga space and the sauna. Everyone on the property was so friendly and inviting and the space was cozy and clean. Thank you, I can’t wait to return!

  • I absolutely fell in love with my stay here. I wanted to book the Airstream but it was already taken, so I stayed in the Permatculture Tent. I was prepared for many critters, however there were no mosquitoes and only a few tiny friends that never bothered me. It was like upscale glamping that I could have never brought with me on my motorcycle. The communal meal was fabulous and such a sweet touch. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

    Michelle2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • As a prior reviewer said, have a read of what to expect with permaculture. The location sports serene sunsets, a rustic but clean feel, and is a down to earth community. It's a really great experience staying here and we would definitely go back!

Up north, we call this camp. My Dad thought these pictures made Camp Mary Anne look better than it is, but I honestly think it beautifully captures the rustic simplicity and serenity. Nowhere can you build this close to the water anymore. You will find tranquility here.
You will find peace here. It's a private northern sanctuary you'd share with seven other cabins filled with people whom are also looking for a get-away. The cabin itself is private, full stocked with all you'd need for cooking, or staying in and relaxing in the bath (the bath is nothing special itself, but it exists).
Being in the woods, it's super dark. We have some lights along the drive, but a head lamp or flash light would be useful too. Your neighbours are other guests and wildlife.
  • Where to begin! Cabin 6 was comfortable, clean, and had all the basic fixings to make your stay an enjoyable one. The location is unparalleled -- steps away from your own dock, and crystal clear water in Lake Manitou. There's enough brush on either side of the cabin to afford you privacy and your own parking spot (though drive carefully up the bend at the end of the laneway -- felt my wheels slip a few times on the loose gravel). It's also only a 5ish minute drive to Foodland if you need to stock up, and 10 minutes away from Cup and Saucer hiking trail. The beds were comfy and the washroom had all mod cons you'd need to feel your best. We were fortunate to have ideal weather and took full advantage of the kayaks -- Even though the grounds were mainly occupied, it was never an issue to access the 2 hardshell kayaks (there are also 2 inflatable ones up for use). On cloudless nights I found myself having a tea on the porch, looking up at the stars and feeling quite wonderfully small. On colder days we'd venture into the island, visiting Split Rail brewery (30 mins away) and Sugar Bush Cafe (15 minutes away, beside Bridal Veil); the cabin made a great home base. Kyra, the property manager, was nothing short of accommodating and hospitable. If any questions or concerns came up, she was there to help. She made sure our stay was excellent and we were grateful to have her assistance! This is an excellent place to unwind -- one that offers respite when you need to escape the chaos of your daily life.

  • Just back from a 2-night stay at the Camp Mary Anne cabins. This was our first visit to Manitoulin Island and we could not have been more impressed with the property, the lake and the cabin itself. My wife and 2 year old daughter accompanied me and the two bedroom cabin, complete with private bathroom, living area, kitchen, deck, barbecue and private dock were exactly what we needed in order to disconnect and relax as a family. The view from the cabin was spectacular-the sunrise even more so. The cabin was simple but very clean, with all the supplies that we needed. There are two more luxurious suites if that's what you're looking for, but not us. We would definitely stay again!

  • Beautiful view with sounds of the loons at night. Clear water and quiet location. Kyra was great. Rustic and simple... just what we wanted.

  • Kyra is a fantastic property manager and did everything she could to help us feel at home and was incredibly helpful. We had our wedding ceremony at the amphitheatre and it was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Our family of five had a very memorable stay at Camp Mary Anne. It was intimate, quiet, and relaxing. Our three kids spent hours swimming and hanging out around the dock. They made friends with the chipmunks and ducks... naming everyone they met. It was a truly special experience for us... and wine on the dock after the kids were asleep was fabulous!

    Miranda2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin if you want to be next to nature. The cabin is equipped with everything you need except towels. We were able to cook meals for 2 days with no problems. When we had a question I got a response within a minute at 10 pm on a Sunday. The property is really beautiful and the lake although a little cold was so much fun to kayak in and swim around. Would definitely recommend!
