We had a lovely stay with Rob and Gunilla. They were very welcoming and the property was easy to find, with easy driving distance to Healesville and Kyneton. We had dinner prepared by Gunilla one night, which was delicious and made for a very cosy evening in. The bungalow is wood fire heated - which can make temperature control a little tricky. But for us that added to the character and charm, and made it feel like a real getaway. Would definitely recommend!

We had an wonderful time at Rob's and Gunilla's small farm. The host is very friendly and inspiring, the garden is incredible and the accommodation is clean, very cosy and pet friendly. It has all you can ask for. We took the option of having a gardening educational workshop that I highly recommend to anyone as it left us inspired us to grow a selection of rare seeds in our garden and to build a chicken coop of our own.

Rob and Gun were very accomodating for our uncertain arrival time. Although they weren't able to greet us on arrival there was a beautiful fire waiting for us! We had brekkie (which was delicious) and wandered around a bit to check out the animals + farm. The bungalow was cosy and perfect for our needs. Lived staying in the bungalow! It was cute and cosy and had everything you might need. The personal touches and attention to detail such as the tea bags, milk, reading materials and guide to the area were lovely too! The garden was great to look around and wish we could have had more time to explore it! Met Rob and he was so friendly and welcoming and gave us great advice about where to eat when we stayed. Tracy's place was our last stop before heading back to CBD after a few days of intense road trip, and it couldn't be any better. Tracy and Craig both are wonderful hosts, they gave useful suggestion for things to do around and helped to plan our journey too. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, having nice genuine chat over wines and overlooking the impacable fields. It was such a bless to wake up over the views as well. The rooms provided were very comfy and clean with soft beds and linens, even better than some 5 stars hotels! Tracy is an amazing chef too! You can request dinner (and trust me, it's totally worth it) and it's all the comfort we need when we travelled! The homemade breakfast was hearty and delicious! If we could we would love to spend more time here. This is an ideal weekend gateaway destination, away from the hectic city life. Do drop by at least a night or two if you come to Greenhill!

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right decision to stay at Tracy's property. Tracy is one of the warmest, loveliest and most hospitable people you could ever meet. Tracy's home is beautiful and the property is breathtaking. The rooms are very cosy and beds are really comfortable. On the night we arrived, Tracy offered to make suggestions of local restaurants at which we could dine. However, after having read some other reviews on Airbnb, I asked Tracy whether she would be interested in cooking for us...which she very happily and eagerly obliged. I cannot tell how amazing Tracy's cooking is. It is better than a lot of very top restaurants, and truly homemade with love using as much as she can from her own farm. We will definitely be back to stay with Tracy....and we can not wait !!

Tracy and Craig's Royal Greenhill residence is a fantastic country getaway from Melbourne. The house is beautiful, elegantly decorated with a great view of the hills and farm animals, and also their very friendly Greyhounds. Our bedroom was very nice with a very comfortable bed. The 2 most outstanding features of our stay were firstly how nice and friendly Tracy and Craig were to us: we had the most enjoyable night chatting with them over dinner, and secondly the most delicious meal we could ask for, made by Tracy with attention to every little detail. The breakfast was also delicious and beautifully presented. We could not have asked for anything better for our stay. After reading the reviews my daughters and I decided to book. No wonder people wrote such lovely words about their experiences. We had a beautiful time on the farm. Tracey and her husband make one feel part of the family. The home is beautiful inside and out. We also booked for an evening meal, and we were spoiled with restaurant styled food. I would recommend eating at Tracey's; it was divine. I can not wait to take my husband back and stay longer.

Greenhill is an easy drive from Kyneton, but quiet! Coming from the city, I loved being able to go outside and view the vista of the fields and the horizon, in total quiet. Or relish being buffeted by a warm breeze. Their place is impeccably appointed, and spacious, with great views. I could not have wished for better hosts than Tracy and Craig. There was good conversation and great food. Tracy is an expert chef. Theirs is the place I would choose if I am up that way again.

Amazing property and amazing hospitality, what a treat to stay here. Tracy and Craig could not do enough, it felt like home. Tracy cooked restaurant worthy dinner and breakfast for us and it was such a pleasure to get to know her a little. We hope to visit again.

Great accommodation - exactly as described, quirky and fun. Would definitely recommend it to others. Jeff was friendly and helpful and Malmsbury is lovely small town. And of course we loved Glen and Henry (the two friendly dogs!)

Brooke and Jeff (and Geoff?) were perfect hosts. They offered helpful recommendations in the area — tasty eateries, wineries and local markets. They had generously left us a basket of local produce and a stocked fridge, and Brooke had ground some fresh coffee for us that morning. The barn was comfortably decorated, spacious, light and clean. The sky-window above the bed was really lovely. Malmsbury was a perfect place for us to base ourselves in the Macedon ranges; quiet, central and beautifully quaint. We took our bikes (just regular urban bikes) and enjoyed visiting wineries and Kyneton that way. It was a really lovely long-weekend for us and we're glad we chose to stay in Malmsbury at The Barn Owl. We highly recommend this place and hope to come back.

Brooke was absolutely fabulous - great communication, and she was full of recommendations as to what was on around the area. Fantastic. They put a lot of effort into to making you feel welcome. The basket of provisions was great and showcases the local produce really well. It's in the ideal location for visiting the region. The bed is unbelievably comfy and there are so many little touches around the place that really show how much though they put into the barn. Can't wait to stay again.

We had a blissful stay at Quiet Red and loved the seclusion, the fireplace and waking up with kangaroos on our doorstep. A lovely property and so cosy on a winters weekend.

What a great house - just as good as the pictures! Super modern, clean, and extremely well appointed. The kitchen is beautiful and made us want to stay in and cook instead of dine at some of the lovely local restaurants. The kitchen was stocked with yummy breakfast ingredients and snacks including eggs, bacon, butter, jams, milk, muesli, bread, Anzac biscuits, and a bottle of red wine! The outside area is amazing - we actually can't wait to come back in Summer time and make use of the outdoor kitchen and pool. The yard is fully fenced which was great for our dog who had a lovely time running around! Kyneton is a sleepy little town. There is a couple of nice restaurants and pubs, but as aforementioned, we didn't get to sample these places as the house was too lovely.

The house was beautiful. As there were only two of us we only made use of the bottom floor. Supplies for a hot or cold breakfast were supplied, in addition to a bottle of sparkling. The location was great, walking distance to town and the restaurants and pubs. We loved our stay here, Catherine who greeted us as Sandra was away, was very informative and helpful. We will definitely be back and would thoroughly recommend.

This is a special place. The setting is beautiful and the cottage is very comfortable and snug even on the coldest winter night (2 great gas heaters). Scott and Laura are fabulous and accomodating hosts. Free for a chat and a cup of tea if you want one but also respecting of privacy as well - the best of both worlds. I loved being off grid - a hideaway powered by the sun (and a bit of quiet genie in mid-Winter). Free unlimited internet, Netflix, coffee machine all perfect for the cold quiet winter days and nights of my stay.Waking up surrounded by eucalypts and going for peaceful walks was lovely. I will definitely return.

We had a wonderful couple of days at Laura and Scotts place. It is set in beautiful tranquil bushland and the accommodation itself is delightful. The quality of everything is superb and Laura made sure we had everything we needed and was an extremely attentive host. The kitchen and bathroom had all the basics and a few nice extra's such a fab coffee machine, candles and a decanter of port! We fell in love with Molly and Digger, our furry visitors and we will most certainly be back. Thank you Laura and Scott for everything.:)

A beautiful serene location overlooking a tree covered landscape. Laura and Scott were great in their constant communication before and during the stay. The place was well equipped with ample supplies in the fridge and cupboard. Appreciated also the added touches of chocolates and port on arrival. The wifi worked very well with Netflix an added welcomed bonus. Happily recommended staying here for a peaceful and restful stay with very hospitable hosts!

We visited Laura's and Scott's home for relaxing winter weekend. Arriving after dark - with the assistance of Laura's helpful emailed directions - we found a warm welcome with the lights and heaters on. Scott showed us around and emphasised how we could ask them at any time if we wanted assistance. As it turns out, the accomodation was so well set up that no assistance was necessary. Laura's and Scott's home is perfect for a weekend getaway. Sparkling clean, modern facilities and extensively stocked with those little extras that make the stay even more comfortable. I don't think we've ever stayed in an Airbnb with more supplies and comforts laid on for the visitors. We love this area of Victoria. We certainly hope to go back to Laura's and Scott's in the future.

Wow, what an amazing place Laura and Scott offer! We love the tranquility whilst also having all the luxuries one could wish for. The book about the bushland development with the stories about all efforts they and their neighbors have put into their off grid community only increased our admiration for them. It's a lovely place to unwind and relax, and we only wish for a longer stay. We truly recommend to stay with these excellent hosts!

The cabin is beautiful and large with everything you need. Greeted by gorgeous chickens, the accommodation is so homely and comfortable. The setting is stunning and is a perfect place to sit on the deck and relax! No noise, fresh air and luxurious privacy. Great stay, highly recommend!

Arrived to Deb and poodles warm welcome . Cottage warm with the fire already going for us. Beautiful Setting, Beautifully decorated, extremely clean and spotless. Everything thought of that was needed was supplied. Bacon and eggs and fresh herbs and bread available for breakfast. Impressed to have the pod coffee machine to utilise. chooks at the door... birds in the trees....Alpacas and sheep. What more did we need to get away from the concrete jungle.

The fire place was already lit when we entered the house and everything was as pictured. We really enjoyed our night at Marg's place. It was exactly the relaxing weekend away we were looking for. We loved the authentic country kitchen and drinks on the verandah watching the sunset over the rolling hills was gorgeous. Our Labrador also loved being able to run around the enclosed yard. (Worth noting that fences may allow smaller, adventurous dogs to get through them.) Marg was really good to communicate with and it was all easy. We loved the farm fresh eggs for breakfast.

Marg's place was peaceful and secluded, the perfect getaway location when you need to unwind. We brought our 2 dogs who loved exploring the property. Breakfast was provided and we loved sitting out on the verandah at meal time, listening to the birds and soaking in the morning sun. It was also well located with easy access to Castlemaine and Harcourt where we went to markets and cideries. The house was very warm, even in winter, with a fireplace and electric heating in the entrance/kitchen. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing trip!

Great farm house in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful. Great deck for that early winter's morning, in the sun with your tea/coffee and reflect on the countryside. In winter make use of the gas heater to balance the heat from the wood burning. If you are unused to a wood burner then ask Marge how to build it up to generate a good amount of heat.

Rustic getaway with a genuine home away from home feel.

This is a great little cottage for a short getaway. We had a very cosy two night stay here, and enjoyed everything the place had to offer - beautiful bird life, fresh mornings, incredible bushwalks and best of all, a very toasty fire at the end of the day. Our family had a great time staying at the Vibey Cottage! It’s simple but with everything you need , child friendly ( they loved staying there, collecting the wood, and the Kangaroos!) and we stayed very warm with the fires and heaters provided. The General Store has a great pizza night on Friday which we and the kids loved, and you can pick up a good bottle of wine at the General Store too. The Vibey Cottage is the kind of experience you only find on Air BNB and we found Paul to be an excellent host with helpful tips and local knowledge.

We spent four nights at Paul's cottage because we were visiting some friends in the area and it was great : blooming wattles and kangaroos everywhere, awesome skies at night, Victorian countryside at its best. We loved having the fire on to keep us warm during the very cold Victorian nights and the sounds of frogs and kookaburras in our ears during the day. Sadly, we didn't get the chance to meet Paul personally but communication via airbnb/texts was perfect. And last but not least - great little pizza/wine place in Taradale ! All in all, we'd definitely recommend you Paul's place. Thanks Paul !

Jo's near new "Granny flat" attached to her home in Malmsbury in the Victorian Goldfields is very comfortable and well equipped with a proper kitchen, separate little lounge, quality bathroom and comfortable bed with extra warm feather doona. The location is within about 500 - 750m of the little historic town and the railway station (Its about an hour to Melbourne, and half to Bendigo) The region is really beautiful, varied and interesting with stunning historic towns and cities like Daylesford (20mins) Bendigo (30) Castlemaine (20) and Maldon (25) by car. You can drive up Mts Alexander and Macedon, visit wineries and cideries in Heathcote and Harcourt. Jo is the ideal host by offering all the help you need but none of the intrusion you don't. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Many thanks Jo

We booked last minute and stayed at Jo's for one night on a weekend to escape the busy city. We were after a quiet, relaxing stay and that's exactly what we got. We were welcomed warmly and given a lot of information about what the area had to offer, but they also respected if we wanted privacy during our short stay. The guesthouse was lovely, clean and warm (thanks to Jo putting on the heater for us!) with full kitchen amenities which can be quite rare! For a quick escape out of Melbourne this is a cute place in a cute town and overall a great place to stay :)

A converted carport - I wouldn't have picked it if I hadn't been told - attached to the main house. Beautifully done, with quality fittings. Spoke with Jo twice - on arrival and on departure - otherwise we wouldn't know her, her partner or their kids were about. Jo is a charming young lady who welcomed us warmly and then let us be.

We had a wonderful stay at Ellie's house this weekend, while travelling to the region to attend the Lost Trades Fair from Finley. Ellie was a warm and hospitable host who was more than willing to help us out in any way she could. We brought our newborn with us and she provided us thoughtfully with a baby bath. The room was clean and contained everything we needed. Close to amazing restaurants and beautiful scenery. Thanks so much for a wonderful night away, Ellie!

Ellie is a pleasant and friendly hostess who provided us with helpful information on everything especially places to eat during Good Friday. We basically had the whole upstairs to ourselves. The place was very tidy and clean. The view from the balcony was beautiful. We appreciated the spacious space and privacy she gave us. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Pauline's winery is in a beautiful rural setting, with a gorgeous house and views. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Unfortunately during our stay Paulines dogs barked through the night, keeping us awake. The milk left in our fridge was also 'off'. I'm sure Pauline will ensure this doesn't happen again for future visitors. It was otherwise a lovely place to stay.

Pauline was lovely and attentive. We stayed in the family room which had its own entrance so it felt private. Plenty of heating and electric blankets made our winter stay nice and comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was a perfect way to get the day started. The place was slightly different and a little more sparse than in the photos, but still very enjoyable. Larrissa communicated well and answered most of our questions very promptly. Larissa was a great host. Very friendly without being in your bussinless. Anytime I messaged her to ask her a question she wrote back promptly and gave us some great tips about the area. I felt like if I needed anything she would be happy to provide it. The cottage and furniture are older but immaculately clean which was really important to us. The cottage was basic but had everything that we needed and was really open plan. Good kitchen set up and comfy beds. Towels and linen were provided. We were able to take our dog which was important to us. Metcalfe itself is a tiny town but we mostly drove in to kyneton and castlemaine (10 and 20 mins away respectivley). It was a great price. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely time at Larissa’s house. Unfortunately our trip was cut short as we had to rush home for family reasons, but we would have happily spent a lot more time there! It was the perfect location, close to various towns such as Castlemaine for supplies and lunch, however, you felt completely away from it all. The house was so well set-up, with lots of charming features and her lovely artwork, plus it had everything we needed (including well equipped kitchen for home cooked dinners) it was perfect for our weekend away. She also allowed our dog to visit; it was great being able to bring her along! Larissa was the perfect host, she was welcoming and was there when we needed, but allowed us complete privacy. We highly recommend staying at Larissa’s place, it was the perfect escape from the city.

The house and surrounds and pleasant, with plenty of bird and wild life to watch from the front porch. Near to Kyneton and Castlemaine. It's a very quiet location, with a fire and comfy bed.

Larissa was a great host. Friendly, open, and perfectly respectful of privacy. I spent a week here on my PhD. I found the light and the view offered across the hills from the living area and dining room table I had set up to spent 14hrs a day very peaceful. This view isn't shown on the listing, but it's actually a huge selling point and crucial to making the experience relaxing. The house is simple but has everything you need. It's an absolute bargain base for a week or weekend getaway to watch old movies (I didn't turn on the large LCD tv), read books, or do day trips to Kyneton, Malmsbury, Castlemaine, Daylesford, and Bendigo.
