simple and cozy apartment in a perfect location right in the center of Coimbra. It's perfect for someone like me and my girlfriend wants one day to enjoy the city without worrying about transportation. It was a pleasant stay, Peter and Suse were clean. I hope to repeat soon!

A very cozy and well located !!

The small apartment of Suse was beautiful with great attention to detail. We have felt very comfortable there and Suse took great care of us and provided us with all the information. You are right in the center of things and can equal go shopping in the pedestrian zone or leisurely drinking coffee. In the evening there is then also quiet and we could sleep well.

Great location and very cosy studio, perfect for a couple. Suse was of great support and ensured that our stay was very pleasant.

Marcelo's flat is central, clean, and feels like home! We were only in Coimbra for one night but our check-in was seamless and we had great communication with Marcelo ahead of time. The flat is fully-equipped and he even left us some juices and wine for our stay. He was also very helpful giving us directions and recommendation for restaurants and sight-seeing, and I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Marcelo's apartment is located on a nice quiet square in perfect walking distance to the heart of Coimbra. It was immaculate and comfortable for our stay. His personal welcome and orientation to the sights in the city was lovely, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Before you write a review about the apartment I wanted to thank Marcelo for everything you did for us .. you have been very kind ... it's the little details that make one thing only ... deserve all my respect ... we arrived in the evening very late and he a lord waited for us with a smile, showed us the house and explained coimbra ... not only that, the day of departure the parking is paid for up to 14 ... we called him to ask if we could stay one more hours and he did what ?? He went to pay for us ... thank you thank you thank you But now we came to the apartment: It has a parking space in the parking lot in front of house with by a pingo doce open late. The apartment is located in the center with a view of fear on the Baixa and the university ... the evening is gorgeous !! Although the center is set back so far from the noise and din ... Just below the house there is an excellent Portuguese restaurant with affordable prices Inside of the apartment you will find comfort and any cooking utensil, sweet aroma of coffee capsules and everything spotlessly clean !! Upon our arrival marcelo did find a water of fruit and juice. The price of the apartment is down to the value that this jewel of the house !!

We had such an amazing time here! Marcelo is the perfect host: so polite, friendly, willing to help and give lots of advice/tips on where to eat/visit. The apartment is stunning (exactly as in the pictures), overlooking a peaceful plaza with the beautiful city in the background. It is perfectly clean and equipped with everything you need. The reception in Marcelo's apartment was extremely cordial, very nice that parking is available in nearby parking garage. The apartment is fully furnished and the bottle of wine and water upon arrival were much appreciated. 5 stars worth!

Great stay in Coimbra for a weekend, the apartment is as in the pictures, they looked after us nothing but get all very clean and very well in the center of the city. To take one, but in the room we had a tad cold, try to put the hot air and it was impossible, only it blew cold air, but nothing too significant.

The apartment is small but cozy. For a one night stay a couple is not bad. But if you plan to spend several nights and is able to cook something and be comfortable is not the ideal apartment. It is located in the heart of Coimbra, could not be in better place. Rui quoted at 19.00 we not giving option to enter the apartment before.

It was certainly the best we've ever been in airbnb. Goncalo was super friendly and attentive to all our needs, the place is fantastic, very comfortable and the location is also great.

Gonçalo was impeccable with us, especially with the time of check-in and check-out. We regret not having been more time together but unfortunately we came always too late home. The apartment is quite big as the room which makes it extremely comfortable and private.

Goncalo is a very friendly and helpful host. The flat lies out of the city centre but therefore offers beautiful views over the landscape and the city. Shops and a bus stop in a few minutes walking distance. The flat is lovely decorated, the kitchen has everything you need and the room is bright, very spacy and comfortable with a big wardrobe and ensuite bathroom. We did always have breakfast on the balcony and really had a great time!

Carolina's Airbnb is beyond amazing. It is a short walk to the "uptown" of Coimbra. The view from the room is breathtaking as well. The apartment has a lot of character- an outside porch area, beautiful skeleton keys, and bright natural light. Carolina is a superb host! She gave me all the information I needed to arrive at her home. She was very quick to respond to my questions. When I got there, she gave me a personalized itinerary based on my interests. She is beyond amazing! I am so happy I got to stay at her place & befriend her! PS- the shower pressure is amazing. If you have the chance to stay here, take it!!

Carolina was so accommodating! I had a great time staying here, my room was perfect with lovely light and very clean. She made me feel so welcome when I arrived, and also suggested me loads of places to see in Coimbra. The house is in quiet area and its a beautiful walk over the bridge into Coimbra centre. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, just a nice walk across the bridge from the city center. The room was accurately described in the photos - large and bright with a double bed and a desk. Carolina was extremely helpful with plenty of recommendations of what to do, where to go, which food not to miss. I've never had more questions before arriving and during my time in a city, and Carolina answered all of them patiently. My last night we went for a walk around the city together and that really added a nice personal touch to the visit. Would definitely recommend and stay again myself.

We had a very pleasant stay in Joao's apartment. The place is nicely renovated and has everything that you would need. The location is fantastic - you are just surrounded by the historical heart of Coimbra. It's very close to the train station even if you take the wrong turn and take the longer way what we actually did :) After carrying our heavy suitcase during what we thought was the hottest day of the end of summer in Portugal we found the apartment to be a cool refuge from the heat! Joao was very helpful and recommended a lot of great places to us. We have not visited all of them so we will definitely come back!

The apartment is great. It has a lot of fascinating history and is in a perfect location. João is a great host. He shared lots of tips with us and explained the history of the building we were staying in. If you are going to Coimbra this is a great home base.

Joao's place was in the ideal location to explore the old town area of Coimbra, and there are plenty of great places to eat and drink nearby. Joao met us for a coffee the day we arrived and gave us some tips on what to see during our stay, which was really nice.

Joao was very welcoming and spent time with us explaining Coimbra and answering our questions. The apartment was as expected, very clean and located centrally. Everything can be found nearby including a tapas cafe opposite.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see João personally, but his sister and mother helped us out very well! Also he was easily reachable by phone. He is a very friendly guy. The apartment is really clean and bright. Best feature is the location: it is right in the middle of the historical center, very close to all the sights. Totally recommended!

Our stay in Coimbra though brief was very good thanks in part to Andreia floor, is very well situated with access to all the historic area of the city. As against, the place to park is free enough away if you're loaded with luggage as we were my partner and I and to enter the floor you do it through a store but that did not work inconvenient because the man in the shop was very friendly and even helped us with our bags. Highly recommended for a stay in Coimbra.

Hugo was by far the best host I had during my stay in Portugal. Not only his place was 120% comfortable and nice, but he also gave me some great tips regarding the city and took the time to actually join me and explore Coimbra from a resident's point of view. The neighbourhood was great and really close to the historic centre. Overall I would have to say that my stay with him helped me to get a a better understanding of the city and its people. I found Hugo's flat without difficulty and he was home when I arrived. He is a warm and welcoming man and immediately helped me get oriented. The flat is perfectly situated with easy parking right outside. Everything there is to see is within easy walking distance from the flat and Hugo can show you the best places to eat and listen to Fado. Hugo is a great guy with a superb flat. If you're travelling through Coimbra, this is a good place to stay. The flat exits onto a semi-private courtyard/patio with a nice restaurant. Make time to have a drink or café with Hugo.

We really enjoyed staying at this comfortable and beautifully decorated apartment. We enjoyed shopping and cooking our own food after a couple of weeks of eating in restaurants. The kitchen was stocked with all of the utensils we needed. The sights in Coimbra are amazing. We were glad that we took a public bus to Conimbriga, the excavated Roman city. Spectacular!

This was a cozy, comfortable, clean and well equipped place to use as a base for time spent in Coimbra. Vanda was very helpful and responsive - the internet was not working one day and she was over quickly to sort it out, and she answered all my (many) questions promptly. Might not suit those without a car as it is not so close to the old part of the city but it is situated in a pleasant area which makes for a nice quiet place to rest. The kitchen was well equipped and the place is tasteful and charming.

Vanda's apartment was filled with light, very nicely decorated & well equipped. It was in easy walking distance to shopping & a nearby taxi stand got me to every place else. Vanda was easy to communicate with before my arrival & I had no need to contact her once I arrived. I will offer one tip about finding her address. The street is a very long one & for some reason the city used the same set of building numbers at 2 different ends of the street. My taxi driver couldn't find it & we had to stop and ask 2 different people where it was. So Vanda needs to supply clearer directions.

Gillian made us feel very welcome: we arrived late in the evening, and she had made sure we had breakfast in the morning; she explained all there is to know about the house; and there were lots of tips for things to do in the area. The description was accurate: a beautiful tranquil place, away from all busy working life, but with lots to do and see. The area is absolutely beautiful and lots of culture in Coimbra, Aveiro and other places. I would recommend this to anyone who does not mind to drive a bit and explore...

This house was our best country stay in Portugal! Gillian and her son Ingo took good care of us. A warm welcome on a hot summers day included a fridge filled with drinks. Regional suggestions were given in a book so we could go trough them easily. For trips to a river beach for example, towels and even chairs are provided. You can feel that the house is build with love. The thick walls keep the house cool on hot days. The beautiful flowery garden has full privacy and has an amazing view. The kingsize bed made the best night's rest. We definitely recommend this place and we hope to come back.

Our 5 night stay at The House of Stars during our 3 weeks in Portugal set a standard that could not be beat. The Paravanos have restored a beautiful old farmhouse into a gorgeous home with the equally beautiful, perfectly appointed apartment. I will never forget the evenings sitting out on the little patio listening to the crickets and owls, and the occasional church bells in the distance. The Paravanos are incredible hosts, and have thought of everything to make one's stay perfect. We couldn't have imagined a better place to start our visit to Portugal. We've had a great stay at the House of Stars. The location in the middle of nature is terrific; there is a great view from the private terrace/garden and the surroundings are very quiet and peaceful. The AirBnB is fully equiped, we didn't miss a thing. The bed with a memory foam top guarantees a good night sleep. Gillian is a very friendly and committed host. Every day she came for a small talk, to give us tips (places to visit in the area) and to check we had everything we needed. On arrival, the kitchen was already filled with supplies for the first day (milk, orange juice, cheese, cereal, coffee, confiture, fresh bread, butter). Besides, the basic necessities are also available (olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and other seasonings). Even shampoo, douche foam and hand soap are in stock!

Gillian and Ingo are the best hosts anyone could ask for. We loved the area, the apartment itself, but above all - the warm, kind and heart-full hospitality. It was like we had a castle all to ourselves, and a good mom and dad (and a big brother too - their sweet son) who looked out for us, and helped with everything we needed. don't think twice - just book the place !

Gillian's House of Stars was a little piece of heaven. Away from it all and with great views over the Hills, the beautiful garden, all the birds and bees to keep us company, it was a real chance to recharge batteries! Gillian was very welcoming and made us feel at home and had everything we needed for a short getaway. You can tell this house was a real work of love and it was restored beatifully ! It is within close driving distance of a lot of interesting spots, but we were looking for the beautiful river beaches closeby. We loved our stay and hope to come back one day...

Staying with Gillian and Ingo is like staying with friends. They are incredibly kind, hospitable people who have designed and built a beautiful apartment. After a long day of driving, we were so happy to have dinner on the stove for us (it was delicious!!) and breakfast for the next morning! The area is quiet, relaxing and very beautiful. Gillian and Ingo's driving directions are extremely good, as are their recommendations for grocery shopping and dining in the lovely nearby town. The apartment was extremely clean and well-equipped with a comfortable bed, great kitchen, and plenty of hot water.

We love the studio. Maria, our hostess, is very friendly and provided us with very useful tips.

Reccomendation for me, studio was super clean, Maria is a very nice host that made my stay very comfortable. Not much light in the room but just next to the studio there is a something like a common balcony where you can enjoy a beautiful overview of the city.

Jorge and his wife Daniela are excellent hosts; their space is very well equipped, nicely decorated, the location is great, easy access to everything, close to the historic center and the University of Coimbra. You can reach on foot in all the sights. Furthermore, it is in front of a beautiful park full of trees, flowers, ponds and fountains. Every time you return to Coimbra will stay in the same apartment. Even I will adapt my stays the availability of Jorge and Daniela space. Well served by bars and restaurants, pharmacies and support center to the tourist a few meters away from the site. I was received with attention and affection. There was even a delicious pastel de nata for greets me. The site features a private garage and the condo is very safe.

Very clean and cute apartment. The parking was secure and just below the building. Jorge is a great host and went out of his way to provide great service. It was a 1 km walk to the "touristy" part of town, but the walk was safe and pleasant.

Jorges's place is very good. It is near of Universidade de Coimbra and Machado Castro's Museus. To be honest, I drove to everyplace since it was raining a lot. The privative park is very good. It is the right choice and if I will came again to Coimbra, I would stay here for sure.

We were warmly greeted by Nuno and his mother, Fatima, who showed us the apartment and the proper functioning of the various appliances. The view of Coimbra is exceptional. Although it is not located in the center, access to the historic district is very quick walk (10 minutes away) and pleasant. The apartment is functional and clean even if it is not very recent.
