Places to stay in New York
My place is close to Downtown Jersey City and 20 minutes to World Trade Center New York City Its walking distance to public transportation and places of interest, parks - Liberty State Park, Ferry to Statue of Liberty ten minutes Light Rail ride to Downtown Jersey City restaurants and financial district My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The room is large with closet space and has a chair with an attached small desk. A bbigger desk, it can be provided upon request
The neighborhood is very quickly gentrifying and new buildings are coming up all over. As with all new places guests should be aware of their surroundings and exercise good judgment. There is an outdoor park on Garfield Ave used by Berry Hill and Claremont communities as well as other communities nearby
  • Vicky is very nice and respectful host..she gave us good tips for shopping and was very helpful. I can recommend this stay..good place to get to Manhattan :)

  • Nice, peaceful and quiet room. Few amenteties, but well worth the price.

  • Spacious room and very quiet. Good wifi. Convenient to Manhattan.

  • If you don't expect the house to be how the house would have been if you paid more than what you paid for this house, the house looks as expected otherwise it may not reach your expectations. The hosts did their duty perfectly. Received, handed over the keys and gave complete privacy. However there may be things in the house that may concern a few people. So I would suggest ask questions on your requirements thoroughly before you book this house.

  • This is such a lovely place to stay for those looking to save money staying near New York. Vicky was such a gracious and caring host, making sure I felt at home and I knew that I had breakfast, towels, soap, etc. The pink room is so sweet, the perfect simple space for a retreat from the intensity and bustle of New York City. And getting into the city was very easy—even if not for my phone, Vicky’s instructions and timetables were so helpful! This is such an excellent, homey and sweet place to stay and is fantastic for the value. It truly feels like the hospitality to strangers you hear about in stories. Thank you Vicky!!!

  • Vicky was a wonderful host! she was very understanding and flexible with the arrival time as we were coming from 8 hrs away and wouldn't arrive till late. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by her brother and shown our room. Our room was clean and nice. The bathroom was complete with soaps. No towel but that was fine as I always usually bring my own. We were given a key which allowed for flexibility of our coming and going which is very convienent to not disturb or rely on anyone for getting back in. I was thankful to have the opportunity to chat with Vicky before leaving. She was very pleasant and kind and great to talk to. I look forward to staying again in he future. 😁

My place is close to Times Square, the bus stop (on the block), the subway station, Penn Station, and everything Manhattan has to offer. You’ll love my place because of the 20-minute ride to Times Square, the comfy queen-sized bed, the modern renovation, the central heat and air conditioning, and everything the area has to offer. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
    Please see above.
Long referred to as New York City's "Sixth Borough" because of the quick ride to Manhattan, there is a ton of stuff to do in Jersey City itself. The house is located in Jersey City Heights, just north of Journal Square, which is a more residential neighborhood, but there are plenty of restaurants and local conveniences on Central Avenue, which are listed in the Guidebook for confirmed guests. Jersey City has also become a center for dining and nightlife because the real estate market here is a little more forgiving to entrepreneurs than that of Manhattan. Favorite restaurants include Taqueria Downtown, Porta, and Talde, and bars downtown include Zeppelin Hall Biergarten, Skinner's Loft, and Barcade. Newark Avenue near Journal Square is known "Little Bombay" because of the many South Asian and Indian restaurants that line the street. As it intersects with Grove Street, it becomes a pedestrian-only shopping and dining district that's very pleasant to walk through, especially during the summer. Jersey City Heights specifically is great and is 20 minutes to Times Square by bus and 35 minutes to downtown Manhattan/World Trade Center on the PATH subway line. The Heights sits on top of the NJ Palisades and overlooks Hoboken and the midtown Manhattan skyline, with some of the best views of NYC anywhere. The Heights is mostly single-family houses and includes the Riverview Arts District and a lot of cool new restaurants. It's a five-minute walk to Journal Square (aka "India Square" or "Little Bombay"), which has some of the best Indian food in the Western hemisphere. New zoning laws in the Riverview Arts District allow for live/work spaces, which has made the Heights an attractive neighborhood for artists as Brooklyn has become prohibitively expensive.
  • Nice location and features are as described.

    Aderin2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartament looks just like in pictures. It is big and very clean. It is very close to a bus station where you can get a bus to NYC that costs 4,5 USD per person and takes between 20- and 40 minutes arriving to Times Square, depending on traffic. The neighborhood is calm. This place is perfect for those who have been in NYC or just don't want much guidance, since Ale and Tom really "let you be". This working and very bussy couple can provide a nice space, but it is not the perfect suit for chatters or people who like to meet and engage in conversations with their hosts.

  • 15 mins walk to path station which is not perfect but not too bad either. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The host didn't provide clean towels and hairdryer as described which caused a bit inconvenience, but luckily we were able to find a solution. The place was pretty spacious and we were able to use the kitchen for breakfast. It's a pretty good place to stay if you don't mind spending a little more time on commuting to save up on the rent. I'd say it's a four star overall.

  • we really enjoyed staying at Ale and Tom's, the check-in was easy even though it was very late. The room was nice and clean, just perfect for staying over the weekend.p

  • Great location and close to NYC. You can’t beat the price! I had to wait a while to get a parking spot for the night so Lydia’s niece offered me a ride to Times Square and she told us a lot about the area. We were going to take a Uber so that was really nice of her. I would recommend this place!

  • This is indeed a super host place! We loved our short stay. Loved it all, that is all we have to say.....

    Isabel2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lidia is a very great host! Her place had everything we needed. A little confusion on the privacy conditions. If loud music from downstairs will bother you then, this place is not for you. Other than that, we were satisfied with our stay.

    Cesar2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was nice place! Lidia’s family was nice! It took like 25-30minutes to NYC. Also, private bathroom, badroom and living room was good!!

Apartment sits in quiet neighborhood , lower level of private house. Close to transportation with convenience to Manhattan (35 mins- 1 hr), Barclay's Center (30 mins) , Coney Island boardwalk (20 mins), JFK (12 mins), Prospect park (25 mins). Unit offers contemporary decor with washer, dryer, access to backyard, private entry, equipped home security system with exterior cameras. Though apartment lacks a kitchen, it features fully functioning refridgerator, coffee maker, microwave and toaster.
  • We arrived after 4 weeks of travel, it was so nice to have some of the extra touches Tiphanie provides. The washer and dryer were a HUGE bonus. The complimentary water was also appreciated. Sparkling clean and very comfortable. A fairly safe and clean feeling neighborhood to walk around too

    Rachael2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here in October. The place was spotless and the temperature was just right. Convenient to get to from JFK and public transport links into Manhattan were totally fine throughout the stay (at various times of day).

    Désirée2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The kindness, the disponibility and the hospitality of Tiphanie and her mother, combined to a very classy and clean apartment, allowed us to enjoy perfectly our stay. A big thank-you again. Highly recommanded.

  • Was an amazing first airbnb experience for us! We felt at home and knew if we needed anything Tiphanie was available anytime! Great neighbourhood and access to transit!

  • This place was beautiful and very spacious! I loved the little lights all over the ceilings. The bedroom was so pretty and the bed was comfortable and big enough for the two of us. The house was sparkling clean and nicely designed. The coffee machine was my favorite part lol I love coffee. It’s only $7 to get to and from the train station or you can take the bus. Neighborhood was quiet during the day and at night. I loved every moment of my stay and will be staying again!

This is a private room 5 minute walking distance to North Elizabeth train station which takes you to NYC in 25 minutes. There is a bus that takes you to NY Port Authority right on the corner of the block! The house is 5 minutes from Newark Airport.
The room is very clean and very cozy. It can accommodate 1 person comfortably. It has a twin size bed, Armoire to hang clothe, Air Conditioner in the summer Heat in the winter, Flat Screen TV with cable, night stand with lamp, a work desk, and Strong Wi-Fi connection. Although this room has the bunk bed I do not have a ladder for the top bed. I will be able to provide a small step ladder to assist the person staying on the top bunk. (sorry for any inconvenience) ** note: you will be able to hear the sound of traffic because this room is not well insulated. But I can provide ear plugs if the sound will bother you. ** this is still a great deal ;).
In this neighborhood you will see that you are close to many convenient locations. Restaurants (Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, South American, Pizzeria, fast food) Parks, Bakery, Liquor Store, Bars/clubs, Super Markets, Hair Salon, Billiards and more!! The Airport is 5 minutes away and lots of easy access to public transportation to reach NYC. There is lots of diversity and is a safe place to be.
  • Couldn't have hoped for a better deal. Super affordable for what it offers, some might find it slightly small but it does the job for those who don't plan on staying in for too long. Free towels, water, breakfast and Christian very gracefully allows for early check-ins and let's people store their luggage in his house for no extra cost. The house is super close to N. Elizabeth station, which connects to New York Penn Station. The neighborhood is extremely safe and homely, quick eats nearby, a great experience overall.

    Sanchit2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Christian is really nice! I had really comfortable days at his house, the room is pretty small but is how he described it. The house is a little bit far, the location is not the best, but you can get the bus at one block.

    Lucio2016-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was clean, cozy and comfortable. Perfect place to stay a night after a long flight.

    Chansik2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! really cozy, good location, and great value for price! If you have an early AM flight in Newark, it’s an amazing place to stay!

    Erwin2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very good value for money and only costed us about $7 to get to Newark Airport to fly home via Uber, did the job we needed it to do but this particular room is only really a good idea for 1 night, or for children. The room was also extremely warm. Host wasn't there to greet us and we were told to ring the doorbell and somebody else would answer, however we rang several times to no avail - had to wait outside for 15 minutes before luckily somebody else who lived there arrived. There are lots of other rooms in this property so bare this in mind as the listing doesn't make it obvious. Wasn't an issue for us but might be an issue for you. Wifi information was incorrect, although host responded very quickly when I queried this and gave us a different one to connect to. Another note, the internet seemed slow and dropped out a few times despite the listing quoting it as a strong connection. Still had a satisfactory stay and i reiterate it is extremely good value for money, and there are restaurants within 50 yards of the property, as well as a convenience store.

    Richard2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Christian and his family were very helpful. He answered all my questions I needed. The place is very close to the airport . If you have an early flight. In front of the house they have a bus stop (112) that takes you straight to NYC. Short walk to train station but please be careful at night. The place was basic but comfy. The location is good in the day. I just don't recommend anyone walking at night. Its best to get a lyft or uber to be dropped off. I had a great stay!

The room is very clean and cozy. It can accommodate 1 person comfortably. It has a twin size Orthopedic Mattress Bed, Amoire to hang clothe, Air Conditioner in the summer Heat in the winter, study desk, refrigerator, Flat Screen TV with cable, night stand with lamp, a work desk and Strong Wi-Fi connection. This particular listing has low ceilings and I do not recommend for guests over 6feet tall. This room is located on a third floor.
In this neighborhood you will see that you are close to many convenient locations. Restaurants (Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, South American, Pizzeria, fast food) Parks, Bakery, Liquor Store, Bars/clubs, Super Markets, Spa, Billiards and more!! There is lots of diversity and is a safe place to be.
  • Great place if you’re in town for a short while. The room I stayed at was up in the attic and had a slant ceiling. Which makes it tough if you’re tall. The house creaks a lot which can be unnerving at night especially if someone is walking around. It got pretty chilly inside the room in the middle of the night. But overall was a good value for my money.

  • Christian replies fast to the message, and the location is really great, a ten minutes drive to EWR.

    T.2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really liked staying at the property. I arrived very early in the morning as I had to work so I left my bags in the property and messaged Christian to tell him I was in a rush but I would come back. He kindly gave me all the instructions of check in and when I arrived back my bags were in the room for me. The room was very clean. Small but compact. There was a small mini bar(sket) with some snacks that you could eat then leave money for. Really thoughtful. I didnt have breakfast at the property but Christian had free breakfast there for the guests. The kitchen was very clean. The only thing that was a bit of a dampener was that a lady knocked on the door about 15 minutes to check out and asked when I was leaving. then 5 minutes later a man knocked on the door asking when I was leaving because the other guest who was to stay in the room had arrived and the lady needs to clean the room. I was packed and ready to go but it was very cold and made me feel really unwelcome. Non the less great place. I am pretty tall so would of prefered to be warned about the height of the room and toilet but not a major problem.

This charming top floor apartment is carefully planned to suit travelers needs like yourself. Bright sunlight penetrates the extra large windows in the morning to give you a peaceful wake-up. Enjoy fresh coffee self-served in the kitchen, as well as WiFi speeds of 1000 MBPS (not a typo). There are three total bathrooms in the house, which means no struggling to get ready in the morning. The bathroom comes considerately packed with all of your daily essentials, so even if you brought your own, you don't have to use it. The rooms are considerably big for being so close to the city. As we earn income from this AirBnB, we are consistently further renovating. Invite your friends over to eat in the fully stocked kitchen, which includes a Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, full kitchen range, and all of the amenities you'd need to cook a wonderful meal at home. The double insulated walls keep noise levels down between you and other guests, so expect a peaceful nights rest. Bedroom doors have standard interior turn style door locks. Not key operated. Can't be locked outside.
The area in Jersey City known as “The Heights” is home to some of the country’s most well preserved Victorian mansions. This wonderful town is full of history and substance. The majority of residents here live here because of the easy and fast commute to work in NYC or Newark. Being centrally located is wonderful in itself, but the town here also has so much to offer. As a part of your reservation, we have put together a full guide of local experiences that we've personally tried ourselves. For those vacation travelers, this could constitute an entire day of traveling. We've also curated all of the best selfie-spots around town, including those with the best view of the Manhattan Skyline.

  • Clean and nice place. Good communication to Journal Square or by bus (also in night). Free coffe, water & ice aviable in the fridge. Good A/C. Weasly was the best host - fast contact in every issue was really important for us.

    Mariusz2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • While the place makes a surprisingly clean impression, we did find quite a few hairs in our fresh linen and the space under the bed was extremely dusty and unclean. Also I missed a few of the amenities described. Apart from that, if you're on a budget and prepared for the not so convenient journey to NYC from here, this is an adequate and quite nice place to stay.

    Sarah2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovley space! Really good for quick stays. The room was super clean, kitchen was very nice and spacious. Would stay here again

    Vornette2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • My advice: do NOT stay here! Conditions are inhumane. Towels arent replaced, you only get one set. (You will only find that out after being lied to after two days). Broken showercurtains which fall down, broken chairs due to loose screws, empty toiletdispensers, no way to dry your hands after washing them and the fridge is dirty. The host is never there, any issues will just result in a "sorry, we will contact the propertymanager" message, but none of your problems will actually be resolved. Its like a college dorm only worse. The 25 minute claim to nyc is false as well, takes about an hour with public transport. Worst airbnb experience I ever had.

Added amenities of roku and chrome cast in bedroom and living room area made the stay exemplary. The area also comes with great benefits of a wide variety of restaurants, grocery, etc in walking distance. The host was greta in communication. The stay was great. • Jason’s place was the perfect amount of space for four of us to stay while we toured NYC. It is clean and spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and even though there is no stovetop, the available crockpot and griddle helped to cook our own meals. It was easy to get in to and felt safe during our stay! Definitely will keep his place in mind the next time we want to visit again!

  • Jen’s place is as pictured. Bright and clean! Keyless entry, USB ports on each side of the bed for tech charging and the freedom to come and go as needed. I would highly recommend staying here and would go again if in the area. We stayed in room 2 and enjoyed the room it provided for suitcases, yoga and repacking. A lot of hooks, not only for your towels but your jackets and umbrellas. It’s very efficient, making your stay organized.

  • The house is incredible - you can feel it’s history as soon as you walk in. It was a perfect location for us as we explored Manhattan and Brooklyn. I would definitely come back again 😊

  • 1. If you are drama or messy, please do not bother these lovely and accommodating people. They are offering a TREMENDOUS deal and what I got during my stay was far more valuable than what I was charged. Be nice to them and recognize the deal you’re getting. 2. Safe and quick 6 minute walk through a decently-lit residential area to access nearest train/NYC transit joiner. 3. Designated fridge space if you don’t want to eat out every meal. 4. Spacious room with a ton of hangers and ample closet space and lighting. 5. Very responsive and attentive host (Marta) living on site. 6. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser in upstairs shower and it’s also A SHOWER FOR TALL PEOPLE! 7. VERY clean and comfortable bedding. 8. We had an early flight in and a later flight out but Marta was kind enough to let us leave our bags tucked away so we didn’t have to rent lockers or lug stuff around the city on our last and first day. My only cautious word would be that the pillows are thick and firm (which is actually what I love), but it may be something other people should be aware of. Don’t hesitate to ask for thinner pillows if you have to (she just might have them)

  • It's a great place to stay in if you are visiting New York or New Jersey, especially at this price. The apartment in well connected via buses and PATH trains (just about 7-8 minutes of walking distance to Journal Square). Cleanliness was top-notch and everything was very well organized. We had an amazing stay there and would definitely like to visit again.

  • Very good! ❤️❤️

    Tatiane2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room is spacious and spotless clean. There is also a well equipped kitchen. There is a designated space in the fridge and pantry for us to store our stuff. It took us 7 to 10 minutes to walk to Journal square station for the ride to mid town Manhattan. There are several convenient stores and restaurants a few blocks away from the apartment. We highly recommend this place.

  • Jasmin and Davor's place is great! A very spacious location with modern touches. Perfect for a few nights in the city if you're planning on spending a lot of time out and about. The subway station is only a four minute's walk away, making it very easy to get to other parts of the city. Parking at the location was easy, with free parking available on the street.

  • Glendas place was such a cozy space. i enjoyed having a balcony to walk out on to ger air. the space is smaller than im used to but most new york homes are. i stayed about a week. there's a bunk bed so keep that in mind. the kitchen was usually tidy unless other guest left over things as well as the bathroom. and the neighborhood was kind of inviting. food and transportation close by.

    Chanell2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Quick responses to any questions or concerns. There's a subway station and good eats nearby.

  • Great host and great service! Easy check-in, loved my stay!

    Stephanie2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda is a great host, very communicative and accommodating, she allowed me to let my bags in the building after the check out, I lived NYC at 6pm and wanted to visit some museum on my last day. She also tip me on a few places to visit.

    Donald2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • I did not expect a bunk bed in the room - it just didn't correspond to the pictures, which show a normal bed. Because of the bunk bed, the room seemed even smaller than it actually is. It was not a big deal for me, because I was out all day, but still. Not having a working Wifi connection in the room was quite frustrating, and very uncomfortable as I had to go to the kitchen every time I needed to check my messages or plan my day. Otherwise, the place is very authentic, the location is relatively close to midtown and Glenda is a very responsive host.

    Elena2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Have normal bathroom essentials there for the guests would be great :) Was an ok sleep on a bunk bed...

Amazing location 2 blocks to the metro! World Trade Centre/911 museum - 25 mins Brooklyn Bridge - 15 mins The Highline (NYC's latest railroad turned park!) 30 mins Sara is a Canadian and has years of experience as an Airbnb SUPERhost. She works with food and works at a Yoga studio and loves to make people feel welcome. Eric is a born and raised New Yorker who has a wealth of information about the city and is always willing to sit down and help you plan your routes and give tips on cool things to see. We have exposed brick & hardwood floors. We are also great friends with all of our Neighbours so you can get a sense of the true culture of brooklyn Your bedroom offers a fully private space during your stay—no one has access to your room. We offer hostel prices and you get your own room with heater and AC. Two bright windows and comfy REAL beds (many Airbnb In Nyc are blow up beds and don’t have heat in your room!) Also be CAREFUL about supporting cheating property owners who run illegal NYC Airbnb’s! We live here and this is the only room we Airbnb and this is a fully legal Airbnb. Rent is rising in NYC and illegal Airbnb’s are a major issue for making spaces unaffordable for people. Also you are welcome to come in and out anytime. If it’s late in the evening and the house is asleep you’re welcome to hang out downstairs if you’d like to still stay up and chat—we get it, you’re on vacation! We have great water pressure and an instant hot water heater so you never have to worry about cold showers even for larger groups. We are on site and always willing to help and take care of any issues you have. There are two floors. The first floor is the shared living space, kitchen and half bath (toilet and sink). Then upstairs there is your room, a full bathroom (with shower/bath tub), washing machine and my room (I have my own bathroom separate from yours) so no morning line ups to deal with! Our best friend, Billy, is an artist and rents another room upstairs as a storage space. You will most likely not see him because he travels a lot for work. But he is here approx 1-3 days a month.
It's is a truly diverse non-gentrified brooklyn neighborhood. Most people here have lived here since the 60s and own their homes, so it's not like other parts of Brooklyn where people are just renting and don't know each other. Our neighborhood has block parties every weekend in the summer and someone is always dragging out their BBQ or relaxing on the stoop in true brooklyn fashion. We live down the street from a lovely local coffee shop called Daily Press which offers up delicious breakfast and coffee on your way to the train station! local eat in spots are soulful foods, chez Oskar, peaches, the green place, and there are lots of local places to grab a jerk chicken to go! There is a 24 hour deli directly across the street that makes a great lamb over rice. The food is good diner-food and cheap. We also have two lovely coffee shops within 4 blocks walking distance. Lastly there is a large fully stocked grocery store down the street. It's a super close walk to the C train (2 blocks!) which takes you right to JFK or quickly into Manhattan. Lastly you are close to the L train and J and Z trains which will take you quickly to Williamsburg and bushwick. We are a 15 min walk to bushwick.
  • This was my first time getting an airbnb and Sara made it a grest experience! She was super friendly, very responsive to messages and answered all of our questions. The bed we used was very comfortable and bathroom was clean. The subway was barely a five minute walk away, which was especially helpful since we came back quite late at night. We would definitely come back to stay!

    Deepa2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cute little place right next to the subway which is perfect! And Sara and Eric were so friendly and ready to help whenever we needed. Great place and hosts!

  • I was only there for a night but Sara had written down things I could do and places I could visit to just see and experience New York! Such a friendly host with some amazing dogs :)

    Gitanjali2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and Eric are very hospitable and very helpful with tips on getting around. The room was just what my wife and I needed! The train is literally a 2 minute walk and at the end of the day that really does matter in NYC. Highly recommend staying with them! Top notch hosts!

    Albert2019-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place is near the Rockaway Station on the blue line (not the red line.) Yes, there are two stations with the same name. The blue line is so easy to use and takes one everywhere. This is a big plus. We had a great stay in New York and spent our first evening in Dumbo, which Sara told us about. It was WOW! Sara and family (including the dogs) are super friendly and the dogs are very well mannered. The room is small, but has all the amenities one needs and the bed is very comfortable. Sara's place gets full marks for value for money.

    Carin2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • so helpful with tips for travel and places to go. this home is wonderful and welcoming, giving this trip a true “home away from home” feeing. the pups are very well behaved and so sweet! the first thing i would do for my next NYC trip is to book here. thanks sara and eric!

  • Unfortunately we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Sara and her husband. But the house is nice - bed is comfy and the shower is good. It's very easy to get to the apartment and public transport is fine. If you are looking for a cheap place close to the subway, I would definately recommend Saras place.

    Kristina2018-10-16T00:00:00Z

  • Checkin process is easy. Everything is well documented, with sticky notes at different places. We had fun staying at his place. Tip: If you a plan on travelling to New York, Drive/Uber or walk to ferry station (5-10 min) and take a ferry from there. Would save a lot of commute and much better than Path and subways.

  • Was up in Jersey City for a movie premiere. Banban's place was about a mile from the venue, so super convenient. The place had nice light in front and the decor is modern minimalist, with the common areas nice and tidy. Banban had super great instructions for exactly how to check in, complete with photos. There is street parking (some free, some metered) but make sure you check signs for street cleaning. Mondays and Thursdays in the block in front of his house, 6 - 8 a.m. Would stay here again!

I also do not allow any outside guests so everyone inside the home is accounted for. Your safety and that of my family is highly important. The space has three bedrooms side by side, the rooms are for Airbnb guests, and sometimes they are booked and sometimes their vacant. You would share the bathroom and kitchen area, which Myself or a member of my family come up to clean 2 times a day. I just ask to please keep clean so everyone finds it the same :) I provide shampoo/conditioner/body wash and towels. You will have a lot of privacy because other Airbnb guests that share the space are out all-day or arrive very late for a layover from EWR. Metlife is 20 mins away. Downtown and prudential is only 10 mins away along with newark Penn which i highly recommend to travel into the city!. I
Beautiful home in a working class neighborhood. Safest area in Newark, corner of weequahic park, where the longest and best running track in the United States is. The bus is very close which leaves you right in time square.
  • We only spent a couple of hours over the night at Alexandra's nice and cozy home but it served us perfectly as we needed a little sleep before heading to Newark Airport very early in the morning. The location of the place is very good for that purpose and Alexandra has mad sure to provide very clear directions and other relevant information in the flat.

Welcome to the suite! -Cozy room with queen bed in an alcove. -Small TV that streams Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon prime to name a few. -In the larger seating/dressing area with vanity table and comfy chair -all my rooms have mini fridge for you to store your personal food items; -I do not have a room keys, but the door locks from the inside for privacy. -Please note that the train passes frequently, and you can hear it. I provide complementary earplugs.
We foster free roaming kittens. What does this mean? The kittens are allowed anywhere in the house. If you find a kitty in your room and you need privacy, you are welcome to take the kitty out. But please, please please, be comfortable with cats.
PLEASE READ ABOUT THE LOCATION, AND ASK QUESTIONS. it is incredibly unfair when guests choose to stay here, and take advantage of our low prices, because we are a little off the beaten path-and then they give us bad reviews for location. We are on E. 237th St in the Bronx, between White Plains Road and Richardson Ave. We are 1.5 blocks from Nereid station on the 2/5 subway line. The MTA has a trip planner feature on their website that allows you to enter your place of origin and your destination, and then it will give you routes/travel times/prices. The web site will also alert you to route and schedule changes due to construction or other delays. If you need to get to the heart of Manhattan quickly, take an 8-10 minute walk down to the Woodlawn Metro North Station, and it will have you to Grand Central in 20 minutes. Wonderful tree-lined residential neighborhood, with easy street parking. I raised 3 daughters here. A bustling , family friendly area. Lively, friendly, diverse neighborhood with lots of shopping and restaurants. Spanish, Guyanese, Jamaican, Chinese, and fast food all a quick stroll-or delivery call-away. Residental streets feed into White Plains Road which is the main thoroughfare, or the Broadway of the Bronx, if you will. Unlike other parts of the city, we have free, unregulated parking on our side streets. A block away is a well-stocked supermarket, as well as multiple produce markets, fish markets, beauty and nail salons. Also an eclectic variety of retail shops, where you will find great deals both domestic and international. 3 miles from the major Deegan highway, 3 miles from interstate 95, 1 mile from the Bronx River Parkway. Walking distance to Montefiore medical center’s Wakefield campus. Easy commute to the Bronx Zoo, Fordham University, and the Botanical Gardens. Please note: we are 1.5 blocks from the elevated train station which is very convenient however, some do find it challenging to adjust to the sound of the train. We provide ear plugs, and suggest a noise cancellation app for your phone. Please do not choose to stay here, and then complain about the train. It’s not fair.
  • Nice place my 4th Airbnb great bed everything clean great price next to train and stores and highway super great spot for travelers

Beautiful bedroom in a quiet house about forty-five minutes from Manhattan by public transportation. House is right between Chinese and Jewish neighborhoods, a five minute walk from the bus, supermarkets, restaurants, and ten minute walk from Flushing Meadows Park, Queens Botanical Garden and Queens College track.
I teach philosophy in a nearby college so you can expect a relaxed, intellectual environment, interesting discussions, books everywhere and, if desired, meditation/vegan lifestyle workshops. French, Spanish and German spoken here.
This neighborhood is quiet and safe at all hours of the night. The demography is an exquisite mix of Chinese, Italians, Spanish and European Jews.
  • Very nice room 45 min away from Manhattan. The host is very friendly and helpful!

  • This was my first time using airbnb and it was such a great experience. Abi is great. She was very flexible with our check in time and gave us detailed information on how to get to Manhattan and back and how public transportation works. It was very helpful. Her house is clean and beautiful and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Her house is about five min from LGA and about 45 from Manhattan. Overall, our experience was great. Abi is a great host and we would recommend for anyone who's looking for an affordable and comfortable place close to the airport.

  • Had nice 4 nights at Abis home. Little room with 2 beds and a shared bathroom. Everything was clean and Abi helped us really good when we had questions how to go somewhere. The house could be reached by Uber or Subway and Bus. It takes a bit to get to Downtown but so on its a quiet house for sleeping because its outside of town. Great stay. Totaly recommend!

  • The room looks exactly like what's on picture! The location is really close to LGA airport which was what I was looking for to catch on my next morning flight. It was a nice little stay there, check in was really easy. The only little thing is that you can hear the room next to it and the room is really clean however the sheet is a little dirty. (Well I'm a girl so of course I care about those little details) Overall it's worth the value.

  • good place to overnight

    Orlando2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Juel's place is clean and quiet. There's water provided in the vestibule, which was great for midnight thirsts. The room provided basic necessities. It's super close to LGA, which has the NYCAirporter that could also take you to JFK too (and other places). Juel himself was pretty helpful (I was dropped off a few blocks away by mistake, and he woke up in the middle of the night to guide me to his place). Aside from that, the place is kinda far away from subway stations, the AC in my room can be intermittently noisy, and unless you're over 5'9", the light switch dangling from the ceiling fan can be difficult to reach without having to stand on the chair. In general, it's a great place for those who need a place to crash after a long day exploring NYC.

Up and Coming Artsy Urban Neighborhood in Brooklyn. Close to local restaurants and bars. The train stops are a 10-12 minute walk. Once on the train it's less than 25 minutes to Manhattan. This is Brooklyn, not Manhattan. There will be some travel time to get to Manhattan, in my opinion, not too much. The neighborhood is safe, but can be a culture shock for some. It's not the upper west side or midtown, keep that in mind. I love my neighborhood!
  • Everything was as I expected it to be, nice place and clean.

  • The location is 10 min walk from the closest train station and is in a safe residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. Victor was not at the property in person but was always available via phone and helped us with self check in very efficient manner. The house and the room were ultra clean and seemed really cozy. I will defintely recommend friends to this place and will also surely come back.

    Ksitija2017-05-05T00:00:00Z

    David2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • All was perfect. It is a very nice and clean room, with tv, air conditioner, big bathroom, i really felt very good there. The place is near the metro so you can move easily to downtown. Also, Víctor is great, he wait for us in the exit of the subway and explained all about the neighborhood, the markets, foods, everything. it was a really good experience.

    ToTo2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Victor’s place is a great value for the price! The location did seem like a bit of a culture shock, but we felt safe during our entire stay. The neighborhood could be a little loud during the day with traffic and music playing, but it was much quieter in the evening and night. His place was very comfortable and he made sure we made it safely and was very quick to respond to anything we needed. I think the closest transit stop was about a 15 minute walk away, but it was no problem and was one of the main subway lines that took us right into Manhattan. I would stay here again!

    Mercedes2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Victor was always available. We had issues with the toilet... Victor and his landlord came to the Airbnb and solved the problem immediately. Thank you for that!

  • Glenda's place was great! just as expected! I would stay at her place again if I am ever back in NY.

    Chelsea2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friend, we really enjoyed our stay at Glenda's house. The rooms are exactly as described. The house is located on a beautiful, quiet street just off of St Nicholas Av, 5 min walk to subway. It's an historic area very beautiful and safe. Glenda is so beautiful and lovely. She gave us a great advice to where to go to listen good music and have a drink. We really appreciated. Glenda's house is a place to stay in NYC, definitely!!! :-)

    Maria2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda´s place is very comfortable and communication with Glenda was very easy. The location is good - a walking distance from the metro, the neighbourhood seems safe.

    Pavlina2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Glenda's for 4 days in December and our stay was quite comfortable. The room is on the 3rd floor of the house (3 flights of stairs). The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen areas are quite clean. There was also a desk to work on and she provided us with an extra cot for the third guest. The house is close to 2 subway stations- about 10 mins walk from her place, so it was very convenient for sight-seeing. Manhattan is about 15 minutes ride from the subway station. The place is close to City College and there are some really good cafes and restaurants around. The house is on a quiet street and I enjoyed walking around in the historic area, there are some beautiful old buildings and churches around. I recommend her place for a stay in New York and I would definitely like staying here again.

    Megha2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda was very responsive and her place was as described. Would definitely stay with her again!

    Aaron2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda was the most amazing host and the home could not have been more warm, inviting, spacious, or well-situated. It is located on a beautiful, quiet street just off of St Nicholas that has an old-New York almost London-ish feel. The neighbours are friendly and the area is very safe. Glenda is incredibly sweet and accommodating, making sure that she was there (even for my late arrival) and took me on a tour of her home as soon as I came in the door. The room was large and exactly as pictured. The entire house was kept very clean and the bathroom was in top condition. 145th street station for the ABCD trains is a 5-7min walk away and there is a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. within 10mins. This part of town is so rich with culture and I was fortunate to meet some amazing people. I felt very much at ease immediately and would not hesitate to stay again. Love the area, the people, and the host!

    Nastasia2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I had a negative experience at Glenda's place. I will say that the room was mostly as advertised, and that overall it was a clean room and safe location. However, I was upset to find that there was no AC, even though it was advertised as having AC. Additionally, I found two cockroaches in the room a few days into my stay. Glenda initially addressed my concern by asking me to keep the window shut, as the roaches fly in through the window. But given that I would have to keep the window shut, I asked if she could install the AC as the weather was in the 80s and 90s when I visited. There was no response. I then messaged her asking if she could at least set up bug traps; again, no response. Then, almost humorously, she messaged me on the last day of my stay, stating that she hoped I had a comfortable stay, completely ignoring my previous requests and proceeding to provide me with instructions on check out. I regret to say that this was the worst experience I've had in the 25+ times I've been an Airbnb guest.

  • The hosts are nice and always ready to help. The place was clean and just like in the description. Self check-in/check-out: very nice instructions available after booking - read them! I walked (15 min) to the Newark Penn station everyday, from there there are nice and quick train connections to New York Penn station and World Trade Center. The district is not so nice and I didnt feel very safe walking around there. But anyway, simple and cheap accommodation. Just for sleeping is totally fine.

PLEASE READ THE HOUSE RULES BEFORE YOU BOOK THE ROOM. We are a working family that has extra rooms and decided to rent to tourists. The room is in a basement of our house.Room has NO WINDOW,but portable air conditioning, has a kitchen area with microwave, toaster, fridge no stove. The bathroom is shared with one more room that sleeps two people. All the information about what we offer is here, PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK. PLEASE CHECK THE CHECK IN TIME. ANIMAL LOVER ONLY! WE HAVE DOGS AND CATS
As I said on my summary please read the house rules and house descriptions before you book the room. We are a working family with extra rooms and decided to rent to tourist, due to the fact that we are close to La Guardia Airport. So please do not expect Hotel service, we don't charge like hotels in this area for a reason, so please do not expect the moon if you pay for a room!!!! The room is in a basement of our house and has a private entrance from the backyard and this makes it easy for our guests to come and go at any time they want as long as they are respectful since the place is shared and is our home. The furniture in the room is very basic; bed is very comfortable with some drawers to put your stuff in. We give bath towels but are basic clean and fresh but don't expect fancy towels. We don't offer TV or cable. The apartment has a kitchen area with a microwave, toaster, and big refrigerator to hold whatever you want, if you want to do food shopping for your stay and save some money since New York for food can be very expensive. The bathroom with walking shower is shared with another room!! The room has also air conditioning. As I said to my other rooms listed in Airbnb you must be animal lover to come to our place since we have two dogs and two cats!!!
The neighborhood is very quiet only 15-20 minutes from Manhattan with car, 30-40 minutes with public transportation. The house is 5-10 minutes from highways LIE, Grand Central, Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Public transportation: 7 Train station is 15 minutes walking, 12 minutes by Q72 bus which you take this bus on Junction Blvd one block away from the house. Other buses lines one block away from the house are Q49, this bus will take you to Roosevelt Ave and 75th station, and you can take the following trains: E, F, M, R and 7. The bus will take 15-20 minutes to get to the station. Bus Q66 is in Northern Blvd this will take you to Citi Field and it is 15 minutes away from it. Jackson Heights is a very diversify neighborhood you can find a lot of different kind of food from different ethnicity. Jackson Height is very close from Astoria an upcoming neighborhood close to the city and full of a lot of young people. Basically Jackson Height is considered as Astoria's suburb, very quiet and clean and very very safe, you can walk down the street at any time and you can be sure that nothing will happen, if by any chance something could happen because of course we are in the City, the police station is one block away and they will come within minutes. We have been living in this neighborhood since 2004 and we love each street!!!! And as a guest said to me that she enjoyed walking down the streets smelling the roses bushes :-). Near the house there is a supermarket, it is walking distance but if you plan to buy a lot of stuff for your stay we have the shopping cart for your convenient and it is in the entrance of the house. Two pharmacies are few blocks away, CVS is on Northern Blvd and 89th street and Walgreen is in Astoria Blvd and 94th street. More or less the two pharmacies have the same distances. One block away there are few restaurants and convenient stores, just in case you need little food, cereal, coffee etc.
  • Laura's place was a great find most especially if you are in Queens. We've been here twice now and Laura was always available to answer your needs. The place is very safe and affordable too.

  • The A/C doesn't work super well. It's okay to stay at for a night if you're going to the airport. In fact it's great for the airport. But I wouldn't recommend staying for more than 2 days.

hi my name is Cheema (host) offering a beautiful basement apartment, has its own entrance. You get what you see.Nothing is shared. it is a newly renovated furnished basement studio apartment with branded ashley's furniture with nice queen size very comfortable bed with 82" 4K tv with boss home theater with free super high speed internet free wifi, and lastly but not least Alexa. The space feels were warm and cozy with some luxury taste here and there.Street parking is difficult to find at times.
(READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!!) This is a basement with an entrance at the back side. IF YOUR OVER 5”10 YOU SHOULD NOT BOOK THE PLACE.The ceiling is low (6 feet 7 inches). There is also a beam in the room which goes from one end to another and it has a clearance of (5 feet 10 inches). The kitchen is not too big it has a stove a sink and a few cabinetsnight.something to keep in mind.If you are over 5 feet 10 inches this apartment is not suitable for you.You can book the apartment but you have to be mindful of not getting hurt. You should note the bathroom is small and it is a standing shower but it’s all well out together. This apartment is suitable for two people, the third one would have to use the couch. For check-in You should go to check-in instructions and do a self-check-inOnly street parking is available.Which is sometimes diff lit to find but can be found with a little bite of looking.
The neighborhood is good with many mixed cultures. We have lived here for 20 years and have never found a problem.
  • This was the best stay. The hosts were extremely polite and kept the place clean. It was extremely nice and I would not hesitate to recommend or stay again. Thank you again!

    Jeff2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host says people over 6 foot shouldn’t rent this place but I’m 6’2 and fit fine! There’s only one area that I needed to duck but other than that it was very comfortable. Not an issue for tall guys/girls! Very responsive host and everything is attached to Alexa.

    Abe2018-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really nice. It had some very nice amenities such as a beautiful tv, fast Wi-Fi, and the bed was so comfortable to lay on after a long day of traveling. When we were leaving, they said goodbye to us in person and helped with our luggage. They were very sweet!

  • Nick and Brianne were very nice and welcoming. We never met in person but they were quick to respond! The apartment was very nice, cozy and clean. The neighborhood was a little noisy but we enjoyed our stay

  • Parking can be hard and it’s a very urban street, but we had a great stay and would recommend.

    Mike2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • They are the best hosts that we've had coming to New York City!

    Jake2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home is so airy and spacious, and decorated in the cutest, fresh style. We would have loved our stay if it weren’t for the location. Parking was very difficult—but the hosts (who were easy to reach with questions) did caution us that it was first come first serve, and we had to arrive late because we were helping my son with a nearby move. When my boyfriend walked back from parking around the block, he was heckled for being white by a group of people sitting outside. There were people angrily yelling and swearing at each other on the sidewalk under our window throughout the night and early in the morning. I personally would not be comfortable staying here again, and as someone who stays at AirBNBs a lot, I feel I owe other travelers my honest take on this.

    Amy2018-05-12T00:00:00Z

Clean and cozy room , Private access door , one block away from L train Bedford stop. Easy to commute to Manhattan.-one stop away from mnhttn- a lot of restaurant and art gallery , 5 mins from pier.
Hipster s place here s Williamsburg. A lot of restaurant around the place , next door toToby's estate (cafe) , one black from blue bottle coffee.
  • Simple, clean room in an incredible location right next to Bedford ave. station. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • Oliver’s place is super simple. You have your own space, right off the kitchen, but the kitchen, bathroom and room are separated, creating much more privacy then expected. Oliver is a kind guy, quick responses and late check in.

    Brian2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver’s space was great! Location is perfect, easy trains, plenty of shops and food nearby. Space is as advertised and was perfect for my trip. Check in was easy and Oliver was quick to respond when I had questions. Would definitely book again for a Brooklyn trip!

  • nice place! 1 block from the subway! great tenant!

    Arnaud2019-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had awesome 1 day stay in this place. The hosts are great and the location as well - you can take metro to Brooklin/Manhattan or walk via Williamsburg bridge directly to lower Manhattan. The place is clean, kitchen well equipped, internet working top, so if you look for accomodation for several days in centric location of NY, take this option!

    Petr2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location and great space. You technically have the whole place to yourself. Oliver was in and out to use the kitchen and bathroom, but we did not have any issues with that. Oliver's place is in a fun area of Brooklyn and it was easy for me to hop over to Manhattan when I wanted to. Check in and communication were easy and Oliver was very understanding about the time it took for me to get from the airport to meet him to get the keys. 10 out of 10 recommend.

NETFLIX, Hulu, SlingTV, Amazon Prime and etc in all my rooms! My place is perfect for a layover from EWR, you can arrive anytime after checkin (2:00pm), even after midnight. We use a keypad. The room is on the 2nd floor, which is a separate apartment from mine, I am available 24/7. The 37 bus from EWR stops 2 blocks away, and the same stop, runs the 107 bus that leaves you in NYC. A few fast food places near by but I recommend uber eats. coffee and tea provided. Luggage storage ok
!!!!!!!!!NO SMOKING IN ROOMS $200.00 charge, no excuses or expectations. It disturbs other guests and my guests comfort is my priority.!!!!!!! Need to leave your car parked while you go away? I charge flat rate $6.50 a day. You can take your Keys too! Inquire now. My home is a 2-family home. I live in the apartment downstairs, if you need me. My husband and I upkeep constantly. Safety? I have 24/7 surveillance outside the home and inside the home. Someone is always home to help, you can always ring my bell or text/call. I have maps for NYC and NJ transit too. I love for my guests to communicate with me 100% for anything at all. Directions, complaints, concerns, feedback etc... I am always available. There is central heat in the winter and A/C in the summer. I have extra pillows if you'd like, and extra blankets if needed. I am very laid back and want all of my guests to feel at home. I have basic kitchen utensils, but I love to cook so I most likely have everything you need in my house. So please ask me and I shall provide if and when I can :) We hope you choose us! Public transportation is easy from the meeker house. The 37 Bus from terminal (A) and (C)leaves you 2 blocks away. The 107 bus takes you to NYC port authority Directly in Time square. Metlife is 20 mins away. Downtown and prudential is only 10 mins away along with newark Penn which i highly recommend to travel into the city!. I
Quiet neighborhood, many beautiful homes and friendly neighbors. 2 short blocks to Weequahic Park, it has a large stunning lake and the longest and best running track in the US. Its considered the central park of Newark. close to public transportation to NYC.
  • The space is exactly as described! The only issue would be the squeaky bedroom door— not that it bothered me, but I tried to remain considerate as to not wake anyone. Nonetheless, expect a clean & secure stay!

    Eva2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great for a quick stay before flying out of Newark. Easy check in and comfortable bed!

  • The room is very close to the airport but not to NY city. There is only one bus for the airport and one to go to NY bus station. The house is very clean and the bed is good. The bathroom is clean and there are also the shampoo, the shower gel and body lotion if you forgot yours at home. Alexandra is a very kindly and available person. I suggest to rent her room to stay near NY with cheap cost.

  • Quaint location, very close to PATH trains and straight shot into NYC. Bedroom was beautiful and very clean. Interior of place looked like it was straight out of an IKEA catalog. The neighborhood was very calm and quiet which was lovely for a good nights sleep after a long day touring NYC. The only issue was an overlap of parking reservations but that was taken care of by Martha who was very helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

  • Alan was a responsive, hospitable, and considerate host. The location was accurate to the description and excellent. There was a bit of paint smell but only due to the fact that they recently renovated the place(I was in Room C and may have been less obvious in other rooms). Check-in/ Check-out was convenient and easy and overall was a nice place. Will try it out again next time!

It took about 15 minutes to walk to the PATH station at Journal Square. Alan also provided other transportation options.
