My stay here was amazing that's to the beautiful area and my wonderful host. I wholeheartedly recommend starting here if you plan to go to Shirakawa-go.

This was such a special experience. Shirakawago is an absolutely stunning corner of the world and I'm glad I got to enjoy it from this wonderful guesthouse. The hosts were lovely, it's super close to the bus station so no need to haul heavy luggage very far, it's right in the middle of the villiage and the wifi strength is super. The room was neat with stunning views of the garden and carp pond from the window. Dinner and breakfast are provided in the price and the dinner was a delicious Japanese style array of foods. I was asked beforehand if I had any special dietary requirements so, as a vegetarian, my tray was void of all fish and meat. Breakfast was also traditional Japanese cuisine - a bit too much for me for breakfast as I'm used to just a bowl of cereal - but super tasty all the same. Entertainment was also provided at breakfast in the form of dancing and singing - all traditional Japanese. I cannot rave about this place enough. It was magical! The only downside is there's only one shower which you can only use between 7-9 in an evening, so it turns a bit hunger games with everyone trying to get in, but the host very kindly came and knocked on my door to let me know it was vacant :)

Good gracious landlord to remind me to be careful driving, slippery because of snow, like feeling like at home. Room good good and comfortable. Breakfast dinner dishes are very delicious, really delicious Japanese rice. Parking can be outside to be noted that bath time. Well because the room is soundproof, so guests have to speak softly, do not attempt to influence others.

Wonderful stay. The house is a traditional gasso zukuri. Dinner is delicious and breakfast very good. Everything is spotless. The bathroom is like a traditional onsen and it has a hot water bath tube to relx! It's a wonderful place to stay. I highly reccomend!

Really fabulous, live in Shirakawa House this evening, I should make aftertaste long, long time. Bed close off the main road, against the river scenery special stick. At night to soak the hot spring Shirakawa, B & B will offer discount coupons. Rustic house, delicious food, kindly owner, will come back to live.

Gassho Zukuri House's place brought me an unforgettable visit in Shirakawa-go. It's run by a family, they are all friendly and even sing and dance to guesses during breakfast time. I enjoyed it so much! Location is easy to find, just a couple of minutes walk from bus terminal. And the public onsen just opposite to bus terminal. It is safe to walk to public onsen at night. Meals are good. I especially love their traditional room, u can smell the wood and grass, sleep with the spund of river flowing amd crickets chirping, so lovely!! Already planned to come back in winter to see the snowy scenery!!

Lovely and friendly host! Very accommodating, and we were also given a quick rundown of things to do in Shirakawa-go. Delicious dinner and breakfast and a comfortable traditional-style room. Easy to find (especially since each house is practically mapped out on maps), and a short walk from the local onsen. We only spoke English, but this was not a problem. Would recommend! :)

Our four people came to a century-old scenery of the ancient temples were here to see the scenery of the people attracted to see the city and the scenery is not the same to enjoy the guest host for our warm and thoughtful service tasting their own chefs to do the rich Dinner and breakfast watched the local rapons of the national dance to participate in their traditional musical instruments playing like we like friends so that each other are relaxed silence of the night looked up at the stars really put everything all can be down to thank all here let us Experience the different journey we will also come back again thanks to the landlord for all the services we do

Love everything about this place! The host was super nice. The service was great. The food was awesome. Always stepped out from dining room with full and happy tummy. If you are looking for quiet and relax vacation and learning about Japanese heritage, we recommend this place.

Great host, great stay and great food! Had a wonderful stay at Gssho Zakuri House. The traditional dinner and breakfast included rare vegetables of the season, was delicious! There's no TV in the room and the walls are super thin. Thank you for the stay!!

Our host was always smiling and was very friendly. She allowed us to leave our baggage before the check-in time. She also told us some camera spots and the famous viewpoint of the village. The meal prepared was delicious. Overall staying in the ryokan is a great way to experience how the locals stay in the traditional houses, while being accomdated with some modern facilities as well.

Having heard nothing from the Shirakawa tourist association, we felt lucky to be able to book a gasshō zukuri, thanks to Airbnb! It was our 1st Airbnb stay and a pretty unique one too. The host was very friendly. Food was good. The bath and toilets were clean. By staying overnight at a gasshō zukuri we were able to see the quaint side of Ogimachi at night and in the early morning, before the hordes of tourists arrive.

Convenient location is not hard to find, very friendly landlord, is a very good experience! Food is good! great!

Fantastic experience in the guest house! The house is a little bit far from the bus stop, but you can enjoy walking around the beautiful countryside. Tharu-san speaks English and Japanese very well and we had a pleasant time talking about different experiences. The living room and the washing room are clean and convenient. The best aspect is the bed. It is really very good and I had a good sleep though some other people sharing the room with me. I would like to come back again in theautumn or in the winter.

Taro picked us up at the bus station and welcomed us in the guest house. Ant Hut is not in Shirakawa-go but it's in a convenient location to access the village. The guest house is small but clean and has everything you need and the bunk beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept on.

The host of the guest house is very helpful and the room (bed) is very tidy. And the most valuable experience is we could meet many new friends here!

Our stay at Ant Hut were wonderful. The view from my bed was spectacular. The owner serves us tea during our check in. The owner doesn't know how to speak English fluently, but I think it is not a big issue. Overall, it was satisfying.

I stayed for two nights. Bedroom was cozy and clean. It was very hot summer day, but no air conditioning so it was hot in the bed. But night and early morning it was cool there. I met owner parents they were so kind and gave me many advices about Shirakawa Village. Also they prepared free coffee and vegitable salad for thire guests in the morning. Anyways, it was good place to stay.

The landlord Mr Tharu and Okaasan very warm and friendly, providing us a lot of advice. The house is very clean, very comfortable beds and quilts. Also it provides a simple breakfast. Although some small drawback, but it is our most memorable place. My children, Mr Tharu, there is another tenant at the door Shenzhen to pile up two snowman, snowball fights in the back of the house. They are the most beautiful trip to Japan time. House is supplied hardware, but also where the landlord provides a warm memories. Thank you! The next opportunity, will stay here again.

12 bed in the apartment make the place go lively during at mid night of 白川鄉. You are so friendly every morning give me prefect mood to enjoy 白川鄉. I don't speak Japanese at all. Thank for your tip that allow me to encounter basic talk. Love you guy, love your hospitality. Love to see you guy again P.S. many thank grandma's harvest rice. It is their growth. I'll do my best to make it tasty and let you know.

The place is really nice! It's hostel style. There are two rooms with really comfy bunk beds, each bunk bed has plug in, bag storage, personal light and curtain! The place is great for socializing with other travellers. There is good rules in place for quiet time, which great if you need to get up early! The staff is really nice and really helpful, there is great English and Japanese. The kitchen is good for cooking meals. Coffee is provided in the morning which is a nice little addition! Only thing I would say, is there is no actual dryer, there is a place to hang dry and there a washing machine for 200 yen. And also there is no pool at the Airbnb but the town does have hot springs a short walk from hostel for 700 yen. You can also rent bikes from the Airbnb for 500 yen which is awesome!!! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and made some new friends!!!

I'm so glad to finally found Ant Hut because I was about to give up looking for accommodation in the Shirakawa area. This guesthouse is like your home in another place. They also rent bikes and I really recommend to rent a bike because then you can find many beautiful spots with less or even no other tourist around! Check-in and check-out were smooth. The bed is comfy enough. The area is clean. And if you prefer to take local bus from and to the Ogimachi Bus Terminal, it's only cost ¥160. Taru, the guesthouse manager is very friendly and informative. And Oka-san is such a kind, warm and motherly lady. She even served us some mochi and helped one of the guests to hang-dry the laundry. I'd definitely come again to Ant Hut if I have a chance, because I think I have to spend more times in Shirakawago. Thank you so much Taru and Oka-san for being such a warm host!

Gassho little distance away from the village, 20 minutes walk Bed and Breakfast a total of only two rooms, the stay of more than one room put a bunk bed, feeling very obvious after to put more income, resulting in the room becomes very small, and I was just put to sleep goes on bunk beds, very simple, no cabinet can put their own things, but also not have their own exclusive nightlights, I feel very bad
