  • Spotless clean, well furnished and toasty warm this is a perfect base for exploring the Moray coast. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fisherman’s cottage and hope it’s not too long before we return.

  • Wonderful cottage in an idyllic location, with sea views. Beautifully presented with all you could need and more. Elaine is a lovely host and could not have been more helpful. Thank you Elaine!

  • The contact with Elaine went very smoothly. She contacted us just after the reservation via Whatsapp to confirm everything was in order and to inform us of her contactinformation. On the day of arrival we were running a bit late but this was not a problem at all. Upon arrival the fireplace was lit (very cozy) and the refridgerator was already packing some food and drinks, we did not expect this! After some introductions we were shown and walkedthrough the rest of the modern and fully equipped cottage. We had a wonderful time at the cosy cottage. The fireplace, the location (just across the beach), the hiking routes (there is a lot of nature nearby) and the friendly owner just tied it all together. Would definitely recommend!

  • Outstanding cottage!!! Elaine was great to correspond with, extremely quick at responding & meet us at the cottage to welcome us, showing us around and quickly showing us how to use all the facilities, which was brilliant. Elaine had added some really lovely personal touches to the cottage for us which was extremely thoughtful, we’re very appreciative. The cottage is absolutely stunning. It was very homely. We stayed over the New Year period and it was absolutely fantastic. We took our dogs with us and like to get away at new year as one of them struggles with fireworks. We didn’t hear a single one where the cottage was located so it was absolutely fantastic. The pictures for this cottage simply do not do it enough justice for how beautiful it is. The fire is gorgeous lit at night! Elaine has everything you’d possibly need.... Utensils, washing machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, bath, shower, hot water bottle, coffee machine, egg poacher... the list keeps going.... it seriously has EVERYTHING!!! Lots of towels/dish towels, toilet paper, kitchen roll! The garden is absolutely MASSIVE!!! Our dogs loved running around outside, completely secure and back door left open for them to come in and out. WiFi was brilliant, no connection issues at all. All furniture extremely comfy. Dining table was a brilliant size. I could go on and on!! We will be back to the cottage for sure, would be beautiful in the summer using the bbq.... 1 thing I must mention is the phenomenal WINE CHILLER! Amazing!!! Thanks Elaine for your amazing service, can’t wait to get another trip booked!!!

  • The reviews say it all. A lovely modernised property with all facilities and fully equipped. A fantastic hostess who takes a huge amount of trouble so that everything is perfect . For our Christmas stay the property was beautifully decorated and as others before we were really grateful for the starter pack of food and goodies after a long Sunday drive up from the south. We brought our basset who loved the huge enclosed garden and the hot stove and walks. There is loads to see and as well as some local walks we managed Inverness and Aberdeen..each about 1.5 hours away. Cant recommend highly enough.

  • A well appointed and comfortable cottage. Elaine has put a lot of thought into ensuring that guests have everything they need with lovely touches such as the fresh flowers and provisions in the fridge. We honestly couldn’t find fault with anything and were very appreciative of Elaine’s quick responses and flexibility to accommodate us at short notice. Would definitely recommend and have no hesitation in booking again in the future.

  • This is such a warm, comfortable and very well-equipped cottage that makes an ideal base for exploring the Spey / Moray area. It's clearly been modernised quite recently and had all the amenities we required after such a long drive up from south of the border. Everything was spotlessly clean, we loved the comfy beds, the modern kitchen and the warm log burning fire, and were made to feel very welcome by our host Elaine - even down to her provision of essential breakfast supplies for our first morning. HIGHLY recommended!!

Our home is in the picturesque and quiet village of Garmouth and is surrounded by farmland. It is an old quirky three bedroomed house & a granny annex (where my mum lives). We are close to the Speyside Way, the Moray Coast Trail, the Dolphin Centre, the river Spey, the Garmouth & Kingston Golf Club and the Kingston beach. Fochabers is 10 mins away by car, Elgin 15 mins away by car and Inverness is about an hour away by car. Please be aware that Public transport is very limited to Garmouth.
This double bedroom is light and sunny with a view of the front garden where there is plenty of room for parking and a large garden to relax in. The room has a TV with freeview/DVD and a selection of DVDs. Well behaved dogs are welcome as we have a daft Springer spaniel who is very excitable and very friendly. If you have more than 1 dogs please check with me first, thanks. Please bring your own dog bedding as I don't have any extra dog beds or crates.
In the village we have a dog friendly cafe at the Garmouth Hotel which opens from 11am (10am on sundays) to 4pm serving food and drinks (closed Monday) and the hotel also serves meals from (Fri - Sun). 5.30 to 7.30. There is a Chinese takeaway at the service station 4 miles away in Mosstodloch. The service station also has a small shop and a beauty salon. Fochabers is 10 mins away by car and has a chip shop, various cafes, hotels, a butchers, a pizzeria, an ice cream parlour, a garden centre and a co-op.
  • Lovely location, very friendly and welcoming hosts ! Had a great stay and would certainly go back again. Room was very nice and clean along with bathroom too! Nice little conservatory to put your feet up and have a little read.

  • An absolute gem on the Moray coast! We saw dolphins from nearby Kingston and there are great parks for kids in Garmouth and Kingston. Huge thank you to Bev who was the perfect host! Her place is fab, we even got to pick raspberries from the garden to go with our breakfast!

    Ruth2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

This immaculate 1 bedroomed bungalow offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is situated in the small coastal town of Portknockie. A quiet friendly community where everyone is made to feel welcome. This bungalow is perfect for a cosy couples weekend away from the city life. If you enjoy golf, Moray has great courses to offer you, you could also dabble in some whisky tasting along the Speyside whisky trail, and if wildlife is more your style then the dolphin centre isn't far away.
Tea and coffee are provided, along with a fresh pint of milk for that all important cup of tea on arrival. We keep our own chickens so you will have a fresh egg for your breakfast! There are biscuits in the tin so please feel free to help yourself. There is a washing machine, microwave, gas hob and electric oven. There is also an iron and board, clothes airer, and hairdryer, and a travel cot and high chair can be provided on request (. Please let us know if soya or almond milk would be more preferable for you)
Portknockie is quiet but has 2 pubs, a small, well stocked shop, and a chemist, as well as a popular chip shop, all within walking distance. The wee town of Cullen is nearby, famous for its Viaduct and home of Cullen skink soup, a tasty blend of onions, milk, potatoes and smoked haddock. It also has some lovely cafes and antique shops.
  • Beautiful wee bungalow. Cosy and had everything we could possibly need. Brownies were amazing!

  • Fantastic host - really thoughtful touches and excellent communication

    Ann2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Portknockie thanks to Jaq. The property was absolutely spotless, cosy and modern with all of the amenities you could ask for (but you won't need to ask because Jaq is such a super host!). We had some lovely free range eggs from her own hens, soya milk in the fridge and Jaq popped in with some amazing homemade brownies as well! We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable our stay. 100% would recommend!

  • Jacqueline, who is a very available person, gave us the keys by hand, and gave us all the necessary information. The accommodation is perfectly equipped and very cozy. It is also perfectly located, within walking distance of the center of the town and Bow Fiddle Rock I recommend without hesitation

    Thierry2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, stylish accommodation, and many details. Of the best accommodations we have been to. Jacqueline is very attentive and close, with a sweet welcome surprise.

    Noé2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, warm and cosy home. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by Jackie, such a lovely woman who baked us a batch of chocolate brownies and even made us homemade lemon curd! Both were absolutely amazing. Thanks so much Jackie. Portknockie is lovely too. So small and quiet and the surrounding coastline is incredible. Just five mins walk down to Bow Fiddle Rock.

    Samantha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jaqueline is an absolutely amazing host! There is no one like her. She is extremely kind, helpful and considerate. I do not believe there is a better place to visit than her cottage in Portknockie. Don't even think about different offers because you're not going to find anything better :))) You are literally 3 minutes walk from the sea and you can even see it from the living room and the bedroom. The views and cliffs there are astonishing and this is an amazing place to visit, gain some peace and rest!

This single room is in my attic. It's on 2nd floor, shared bathroom on 1st floor with lounge & TV, lots of peace & quiet. Lovely views too. Ideal for study or work. Abundant tea and coffee available any time. I prefer to let this room for a minimum of 2 nights.
Here you can rest in peace and quiet after a busy day. The room is an attic room and you should bear in mind that it is up several sets of stairs, so, if climbing them is a problem, this room is not for you. You can work here, too, cause there is a desk in your room, wifi is quite good and you will have lots of light and quiet. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in both your room and in the lounge along with the TV. There is a fridge and microwave you can use and dining stuff in the lounge. (We'll do the washing up!)
The sound of the sea is always with you. And if its windy, you will hear that too cause the room is at the top of the house and we are right on the sea front! This room is great if you are on a placement for a short period of time, here for business, wifi is always available, or maybe you just want to get away from it all in quiet, pleasant surroundings.
  • Scores full marks on every criterion; comfortable, friendly, good food and reasonable cost. The only down side is, I have to drive 400 miles to get here!

A lovely cosy quiet house, great for families or couples, enjoy visiting the lovely places along the coast, beautiful beaches and Harbours nearby, cycle tracks and great places to walk & explore.
Enjoy the use of the entire house, I am close by should you need to contact me, sorry but no dogs allowed due to allergies.
Buckie is a lovely seaside town, lots of lovely beaches close by, the dolphins can be spotted out in the bay. If you are into cycling try out the Moray Monster Trails, fantastic single-track mountain bike routes for beginners through to experts. It’s also a good base for visiting the whiskey distilleries & castles nearby. The Speyside Way runs from Buckie, heading south-westwards to Aviemore on the edge of the Cairngorm Mountains, a distance of approximately 65 miles. There is also a 15-mile spur to Tomintoul.

A good supermarket is just round the corner and the location is a good base to visit Elgin Cathedral or Cairngorms National Park. The whisky trail is also not far away. We had a lovely time, would recommend this place to anyone!

  • An exceptionally well stocked accomodation....all our needs catered for and so cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean! Linda our host was so helpful and accessible and would highly recommend her home as a central base for exploring the beautiful Aberdeenshire coastline

    Moira2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is spotless! It’s so comfortable we wanted to move in! Buckie is just gorgeous the breathtaking views of the coast and watching seals on the beach was priceless. You can throughly explore the beautiful Moray coastline or go to Inverness, and there are loads of national trust properties nearby. We went to Culloden and Brodie Castle but there are loads more and you can use NationalTrust England cards here. Always check with Linda as she full of knowledge and tips- it’s like having your own personal trip advisor. We had a lovely warm welcome and Linda provides a lot of extra things in the kitchen , milk, bread butter as well as cereals and tinned food so you don’t feel like you have to rush to the shops as soon as you get in. When travelling with children that’s a huge help. The entire house is sparking clean and I would definitely go back soon!

  • Jill stayed in touch throughout our stay ensuring we felt comfortable. Very easy check-in. The quirkiest of places but honestly so comfortable. I could of sat upstairs watching that view over the sea for hours! The enclosed back garden was a total bonus. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic walks around the area. The weather was atrocious but honestly once indoors we felt cosy and totally relaxed. Will definitely be a returning holidaymaker.

  • Great place to get away from it all. Right on the pebble beach, with great views. Well equipped quirky cottage. Friendly locals. Great walks. The Mill House Hotel was a good local place to eat/drink. Jill was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back and recommend the place.

Kingston is situated next to the mouth of the river Spey, an area of natural beauty and great for bird watching or dolphin spotting. There are plenty of walks along the coast and inland which can be made straight from the house; also lots of opportunities for cycling, golf, fishing ........... or just relaxing! We are 20 minutes from Elgin and just 10 minutes by car from Baxters or Gordon Castle, both with good restaurants. For something closer there is Garmouth's pub and cafe .
Guests have their own private entrance to a self contained large extension on the side of the house. This is made up of a twin bedroom, a sitting room with TV, a breakfast room and a shower /toilet. Guests are free to come and go as they please and to explore the lovely countryside around Kingston.
  • Great stay in this apartment on 2 floors which is spacious and good value for money . Quietly located in Kingston and great for walking/cycling/exploring the Moray coast or Speyside way. Good breakfast provided aswell and Jenny was very helpful.

  • Lovely, well presented annex. Breakfast area and bathroom downstairs overlooking garden with a cosy sitting room and bedroom upstairs. Beds were very comfortable, towels and bathroom extras great and a lovely breakfast is included. We had a lovely stay.

  • Jenny and Tim's place is full of character, very peaceful and we loved the garden we looked onto. Would have loved to stay longer!

    Gabrielle2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this place when deciding not to camp for an event we were going to. However we didn't realise that it is a house on 2 floors with spacious rooms, home comforts, marvellous light and lovely views of the beautiful gardens complete with speyside birdlife which are many and varied. It is also close to the sea where dolphins and seals are frequent visitors. The host is super. She lays out a generous breakfast each morning which makes you feel very special and welcome. Communication is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. From here we discovered Speyside! A hidden gem in Scotlands treasures! Beautiful beaches, walking and cycling routes. We won't hesitate to book again!

  • Jenny and Tim were excellent hosts. As I failed to notice that there were no cooking facilities they very kindly let me use their microwave and oven on different evenings as I had brought a load of food with me. They were sweet to our dog, and gave us tips on local walks and places to go. We really enjoyed the setting with their fabulous yard and the 2 min walk to the beach. The area was really gorgeous.

    Candace2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great although short stay at Jenny’s place. She is very welcoming and the area is lovely! We strongly recommend.

  • We loved this stylish and comfortable space, set by a gorgeous garden. Jenny and Tim were helpful, charming hosts too. They guided us towards a beach walk and the local coffee shop, and introduced us to their delightful dogs. What more...?

  • Our stay at Pauline’s place was lovely. There was great communication beforehand which made the lead up to our trip and our arrival very easy. As we were travelling with our 19month old we had asked if there was a cot and Pauline had provided a cot with sheets and covers, a high chair and even some toys. Everything was there to cook ourselves a nice meal, the place was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfy. Would def recommend and hoping to be back sometime.

  • Tim and Fiona’s house is simply amazing. There is everything you need there and the location is great, just next to the see. You can see the see and sunrise from the bedrooms upstairs. The house is brand new, the beds are really comfortable and everything is there for you to have a great stay. The welcome back is also much appreciated. There are a lot of tips for things to visit in the region and Tim and Fiona are really helpful. Will go back and recommend it to everyone.

  • The Beach House in Findochty is in a great location close to the Moray Coastal Trail. The house itself is very clean and has been beautifully refurbished throughout to a high standard. Tim and Fiona are brilliant hosts who communicate well. We can thoroughly recommend The Beach House.

    Grace2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Findochty is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Tim and Fiona's place has the advantage of being very close to a serene sandy beach. We could have easily just sat there for the duration of our stay. Additionally, it is a fantastic base to explore the northern parts of Scotland. The house is immaculately clean and very well equipped; you can tell immediately that a lot of thought has gone into making your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Tim and Fiona have thought of everything! From the initial booking to check-out, communication was excellent. During our stay, we didn't need to contact them, a testament to their skills as hosts. We would not hesitate in returning or recommending. Thank you so much.

    Joanne2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is spacious and very well equipped (board games, Netflix, ...) close to the sea and beautiful walks. we recommend this rental

    Pascale2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location was even better than we had hoped - a lovely beach at either end of the street! The house is beautifully updated with excellent fittings and fixtures and the bath is delightfully deep :) The beds are really comfy and Fiona and Tim have added thoughtful touches throughout - including the loan of two body boards and a selection of info on local areas of interest. They even told us about a pop up cafe at the town hall where we got to meet more of the locals who were really kind and friendly. It's an absolutely idyllic place for a family holiday or couple's getaway. We would definitely hope to stay there again if we are ever back in the area!

    Rhona2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is superbly kitted out with everything you can think of. If you get weather like us you won’t be in much (although the kids were even in the sea when it was raining) but there is a great selection of books and lots of games to play with.

  • Myself, my partner & our little dog stayed at Rachel’s lodge and it was amazing, it far exceeded our expectations. Rachel had clearly thought of everything and there were loads of nice little touches (a loaf of bread, jam, milk & cookies!) as well as dog treats and a dog blanket. The area is so rural and quiet with plenty of walks. The lodge was spotlessly clean and a real cosy decor. Would definitely recommend and will return again! 10/10

A charming stone, fisherman's cottage situated close to Buckie, on the Moray Firth coast. 'Sonas' would be ideal for a family group or group of friends who will appreciate its facilities and location. This cosy, welcoming cottage is presented to a high standard with great care and attention to detail. Quietly situated away from the main coastal road up a little side street, Portessie is one of a number of old fishing villages that lie on a three-mile stretch of shoreline to the east of Buckie.
Both bedrooms are on the upper floor, one a double and one with both a double and single bed. An adjoining building not only provides the laundry facilities but also stores the outside furniture and on pleasant days guests can sit outside and enjoy a morning coffee whilst planning the day’s events.
The busy town of Buckie is just next door and has its own harbour and marina along with excellent shopping and dining out venues. There are a multitude of golf courses along this coastline and for walkers this is paradise with the Moray coastal trail stretching for approximately 50 miles from Findhorn to Cullen and all the places in between. Why not take a boat from Buckie and venture onto the waters of the Moray Firth and look out for the famous Moray Firth dolphins, various species of whale and a wide range of sea birds? Sometimes the dolphins are regularly seen showing off around the boat so you may be lucky! There is so much to do and if you leave the coast and venture in land you could pick up the famous Malt Whisky Trail and partake in a spot of tasting from the various distilleries along the route. A lovely part of the world and this really sweet little cottage will be just perfect.
  • A home away from home.

Warm and welcoming. Made even mo re cosy by the log burner. Everything you need for our stay. Lynda even checked that we were ok. Truly wonderful place to stay and excellent value for money.

  • Lynda’s place ‘Sonas’ is aptly named. It is a peaceful retreat in a beautiful part of the Moray coast. It has a cosy homely feel that is perfect for cosying up after a day of exploring one of Scotland’s most historic and authentic areas. We would recommend anyone, who wants to have their ‘peace’ of Scottish heaven to visit.

  • Truly enjoyed my stay at Solas. Its a lovely place to come home to after a day of exploring the coast. Was always nice and warm with a great shower to heat you up after walking in blustery winds. The decor made you feel relaxed and calm with a range of lighting to suit different moods. Lynda was a great host, communication was first class. House has everything you need just to come in and sit down and relax. I'll be back for sure.

  • We had a fantastic stay here at Sonas, booked as a bit of a last minute getaway for New Year. Lynda was an excellent host, including popping along on our arrival to make sure we got into the cottage successfully, which we did - everything was as described! The cottage is fabulous, very comfortable, clean and well set up. The beds were really comfy, and there is lots of storage room on the landing. The kitchen has everything you need, and the dining area is a great space to eat together. The lounge is cosy and Lynda provided enough for our first log fire was was an added bonus. One of the best things about this place is the location, it is literally across the road from the sea and set amongst other fisherman's cottages near the Harbour. Lots to see and do - we would love come back sometime. Thanks again Lynda, we are happy to have had another successful Airbnb trip!

Our cosy room is in north east Scotland, overlooking the Moray Firth, the en suite room is on first floor, and our views are unrivaled, No exaggeration! Our home is on the Whisky Trail, Speyside Way & really convenient for castle visits and golfing venues or for just chilling out.
This double room, overlooks the sea and harbour in the pretty - once very busy fishing - village of Portgordon, about half-way between the coastal route between Aberdeen and Inverness. Our room could accommodate a small child in a fold away bed (I do make an extra charge of £10.- per stay for a little one -other than a babe in arms who sleeps with you!) The lounge is available for your use and comfort, and we do all we can to make your stay the very best. Tea and coffee is always available in both your room, and the lounge - where we serve a healthy breakfast at a time suitable for you. This is an old Victorian house, with several sets of stairs, creaky wood and many original features. In the Lounge there is space to rest and relax and watch TV - when you get fed up with the views! Our house Is as much a relic of a bygone era as is its owners! Come stay awhile. Walk along the coastal path, watch the seals or take a trip to Spey Bay to watch the dolphins or try some of our splendid local whiskey venues. I supply all linens and towels and can usually find the odd items you might have forgotten. Should you wish to bring children please contact me because I will try to accommodate you.
There is plenty of parking here. Half the time we forget to lock our car, so you can be assured that everything is safe. The area is quiet, except for the sound of the sea. I cannot be responsible for you hearing the waves, or if the weather changes the view during a storm, it is something to behold! There are some fine dining experiences to be found in the area, I will happily advise you when you arrive. We are also a short distance from all amenities and supermarkets too. Lots of local attractions can be found and we are just a short drive from many of the distilleries. There are lots of walks in the vicinity where you can watch the seals or take a trip on the dolphin boat, weather permitting. We can even put you up for business, too.
  • Sherry and Richard like to spoil their guests. You will immediately feel at home in this house!

    Rob2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry and Richard are the most attentive, wonderful host you could ever wish for. Everything is just right: the room is beautifully large. The view directly to the sea incl. seals invites to relax, as it is also very quiet here. The breakfast is sensational, the selection is huge and everything is very lovingly designed. Sherry and Richard are very warm and helpful, you simply feel completly comfortable with them. Anytime again!

    Jürgen2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great, comfortable stay here and would recommend to others. With beautiful views over portgordon harbour from your bedroom and bathroom, an easy walk to a local seal colony and one of the quietest nights sleep we have had in the UK. Plus, one of the most beautiful breakfast spreads. Thanks again, we were disappointed we could not stay longer.

    Bernadette2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we could only spend one night with Sherry and Richard. They are wonderful and loving hosts. The house is very cozy, the room and the bathroom nice and big. From the room you can see the small harbor. The breakfast was great. The B & B is absolutely recommendable.

    Agata2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry & Richard were excellent hosts. They tried to anticipate your needs and were quick to ask if anything else was required. They went over and above their roles to help us out. Room was spacious and comfortable. Great time!

  • We loved our stay at Ian’s. The photos don’t do the place justice! It’s cosy, warm, has a great feel to it and was sparkling clean. One of the better appointed kitchens we’ve seen in an Air bnb, everything you could need! The main bed was super comfortable so can only assume the beds in the 2nd room are too. Ian’s communication was great and check-in was easy and stress free. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks Ian!

  • Our fourth stay in Pauline's cottage and, as usual, perfect in every way - cozy, comfortable, clean and quiet. Can't recommend highly enough. Best bed in Scotland I think (possibly the world?), and lovely welcoming touches, particularly the tablet this time (gone in 5 minutes!) and delicious, fresh eggs.

Everything you need is supplied and the little personal touches were a lovely surprise, the bed is also so comfy. The cottage is in a great location with everything on your doorstep and a great costal walk. Check in and check out very easy and straight forward and Pauline is great and so helpful with any questions you may have.

  • Wow what can I say, Rannawa Cottage is one of, if not THE best, Airbnb places I’ve stayed in. I spent 3 nights here on my own as a wee retreat to myself. I instantly fell in love with the place. It is sparkling clean and has absolutely everything you need, plus lovely little extras. The communication with Pauline was excellent right from the start. This really is a home from home, I can’t fault a single thing and I will definitely go back.

Portknockie also has a small outdoor children's paddling pool in the harbour, children's playground, tennis courts and outdoor bowling.
  • Outstanding property with everything you need for a relaxing and very comfortable break. It’s such a beautiful cottage. L It’s immaculate, artistic and so well laid out. All the furniture, crockery, bedding and towels etc have been specifically bought and supplied with guests satisfaction in mind - all very plush, spotlessly clean and in tune with the decor throughout. We love eating good family meals at home - the kitchen cupboards are well stocked with herbs, olive oil, condiments, sugar, tea, coffee, rice, soup etc. Great appliances and cooking facilities and family space. Lovely cleaning products and hand washes too. Gull Cottage is in a super location for exploring the coastline. The walks and beaches along this coast are breathtaking - lots to see and do. We enjoyed long walks every day. We’ve booked again for August. Thanks Anne for all the lovely extras on arrival. All the little details and treats went down very well. Xx

    Laura2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cottage. Comfy and immaculate with lots of wee extras. Very thoughtful owner. Would highly recommend. Great location for exploring the Moray coast.

    Elaine2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks, Anne, for making such a welcoming place for travellers! We so enjoyed the cottage and village and couldn't have asked for more... Best fish and chips in ages a few metres away, super comfortable cottage with everything thought of and many extra touches that I haven't seen in any other Airbnbs... Can't recommend Gull Cottage enough!

    Scott & Julia2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fisher-folk Cottage was by far the best rental we have ever had. Anne’s artistic touches really added to our enjoyment. On each of the six days we stayed, we found another little personal touch or whimsy. The area around Portknockie is very interesting to explore from the famous “Cullen Skink Soup” in nearby Cullen to Bow Fiddle Rock in Portknockie, there was always lots to do. There is a large supermarket just a few miles away in Buckie, “dairy-free” ice cream in Portsoy and antique shops to peruse in the region. The scenery is breathtaking and the cottage could not have been more comfortable. Anne leaves a few groceries to kickstart your holiday as well as some treats. Simply fabulous! We would go again in a heartbeat!

    Carie2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a most charming cottage in the old fishing village of Portknockie, a most lovely part of the Moray Firth. It is very clean and comfortable and a delight to spend time in. Anne has catered for the needs of everyone and provided little extras that will surprise you. I would jump at the chance to return there some day. It is indeed a special place.

    Elisabeth2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I could not recommend Gull Cottage more highly! Anne has created just a super bolt hole - immaculately clean, incredibly well kitted out with a myriad of thoughtful touches, we really didn’t want to leave. From provisions in both fridge & cupboards, to Netflix, to Alexa and amazon music, to washing and drying provisions, the list goes on. It really is a step above!Portknockie is also the perfect base for exploring the Moray coastline and really does have the best fish and chips two yards from home. A total tick and anyone would be lucky to holiday here!

    Liz2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the fourth time we've stayed in Gull Cottage, and it keeps getting better every time. I'm almost reluctant to write a review because I want to keep this place for myself. It's absolutely fantastic. Anne is a great host and the facilities are excellent (and spotless).

    Sean2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gull cottage was perfect in every way. It was beautifully decorated in a nautical theme and everything was spotlessly clean. It was cosy and warm with comfortable beds and fluffy towels. The kitchen was fully equipped with quality utensils and everything you could possibly need. Anne was the perfect hostess and responded very promptly. If we are back in the area we will definitely be back.

Garmouth is a small village in Morayshire, with excellent local walking and cycling routes. A car is recommended as its a little out of the way. The closest town is Elgin. Plenty of things to see and do in Morayshire and we have left information within the cottage.

Entire chalet, 2 bedrooms one double and a triple room. Free WiFi and Netflix. Has a private, enclosed garden with a decking area. Located next to my private house but has a separate entrance. Ample parking. Pets welcome. Cosy wood burner. In the countryside but 5 mins drive from local amenities. Great location for fishing, golfing, birdwatching and walking enthusiasts. We are perfectly placed for any whisky enthusiasts, as we have numerous distilleries nearby. Perfect isolated location.
Quiet and pretty location, 5 minutes drive to the beach, seal watching, bird watching, if you are lucky you may see the osprey catching his dinner! Lots of superb walks along the Moray Coast and the river Spey. My chalet is a unique space!. It's is a spacious 2 bedroomed chalet that can sleep up to five people. I have tried to be as eco friendly as possible, upcycling as much as I can and there is a lovely homely atmosphere. It has a bathroom with a shower, an open plan living room and kitchen with a woodburning stove. The kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge and fully equipped kitchen. There is Netflix free of charge. There is a good sized enclosed garden, which is great for children and our furry friends and benefits from a lovely decking area that catches the morning sun, so while everybody is still asleep sit out in the morning sun and enjoy a coffee and tranquillity!.
Auchenhalrig is a small hamlet with about 20 houses. The neighbours are great and it has many locations nearby for walking, fishing and generally relaxing. It is a quiet neighbourhood but friendly.
  • Staying at Auchenhalrig in the Roz's cabin was a treat. She could not have been more hospitable and helpful and the area was a treat to discover. The cabin had everything we needed and a safe garden was an added bonus for our dog and would be lovely in the summer. We would be happy to return.

  • Our stay at the chalet was perfect and ideal for a family with two children and a dog. There was plenty of room and, despite it being windy and cold outside we were very snug and warm. Roz was an extremely kind and thoughtful host and we would be very happy to return again in future.

    Niall2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great family-friendly accommodation near Fochabers. Nice and quite too. The host is very welcoming. Lots of nice touches. The chalet is equipped with everything you'll need and more. The kids loved the board games and playstation.

    Euan2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a 3 night stay in Roz’s lodge over Christmas. The property is quirky in character, very comfortable and well equipped. We were kept cozy even in the depths of winter with a log burner and oil filled radiators. Roz was away over the festive period but made sure we had her co-hosts mobile number in case of problems (there were none). We particularly appreciated the extra little touches - Christmas decorations, chocolates and a bottle of wine. And the bacon, eggs and croissants provided for breakfast. Situated in a lovely part of Scotland which we know well because of family nearby - plenty of great walks and opportunities to spot wildlife. Would definitely use again.

For those looking for that “get away from it all” experience, this is a quaint traditional style Scottish bothy, modernised to offer comfortable accommodation for up to four guests. Ideal for a small family or couple looking for some old style tranquillity.
With two well appointed bedrooms (one king size downstairs and one twin upstairs), a traditional farmhouse kitchen and a snug lounge containing a log burning stove. This pet friendly cottage offers guests a relaxing Scottish Highlands vacation in the heart of idyllic Speyside.
  • Very clean and cosy little cottage in a beautiful location with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We felt quite at home here. Location is fabulous for accessing everything the area has to offer from the Cairngorms to the coast. We, including our dog, loved the area surrounding the cottage and the walks down to the Spey. Instructions before and on arrival were good. Only 2 points for consideration for future guests - the track down to the cottage could be a challenge in small vehicle, & we discovered on arrival there was a requirement to keep the dog in the tiny hallway (4x2 feet) and not allowed in the main living areas of the cottage. We felt this was a unnecessary & should have been advised of this requirement before booking.

    Claire2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is well equipped, away from it all and very clean. Nice big main bedroom and great to be able to have a fire burning in the evenings. A very comfortable place to stay.

  • A really lovely cottage surrounded by fields. Very peaceful and had everything we needed for an enjoyable trip.

  • Lovely wee cottage in a private quite location. Surrounded by fields and really peaceful.

    Hayden2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage on a large estate, accessible via a bumpy road, really in "the middle of nowhere". Pheasants, roe deer and cows as neighbors. Furthermore, you do not see a person there. Authentic cottage, nicely decorated. Very complete. Less than an hour's drive from Inverness (also accessible by train from Elgin). But leaving is not really necessary: fire, a cup of tea, a nice book .... We will definitely come back ...

  • A lovely cottage in the middle of fields and cows, a perfect spot for a getaway vacation. Close to the Cairngorms and to the coast and only 15 min drive from a dolphin watch centre! The cottage also has everything you need for cooking, relaxing and sleeping. A perfect 2nd home!

This double bedroom is bright and has a view of the front garden where there is plenty of room for parking and a large garden to relax in. The room has a TV with freeview/chrome cast & free tea/coffee. There are also a few books available for reading/swapping. We have a folding bed suitable for a child, at an extra fee. We love well behaved children here but parents must be fully responsible for their little darlings. Well behaved dogs are welcome as we have a daft Springer spaniel who is very excitable and very friendly. If you have more than 1 dog please check with me first, Thanks. Please bring your own dog bedding as I don't have any extra dog beds or crates.
In the village we have a dog friendly cafe at the Garmouth Hotel which opens from 11am to 4pm serving food and drinks (closed Monday) and the hotel also serves meals from (Fri - Sun).

  • Bev and her family (with a dog) are very nice, we loved to be there. The house is gorgeous, and they provide a veeeeery good service:) We loved to be there. The garden is perfect, the house is brilliant. I loved the big kitchen:) I recommend them to everyone. Best, Mag:)

  • Bev replies were quick, as she ditched her already scheduled night out at friends to come and care for us (because we booked last minute)! The welcome was very friendly, the room truly lovely and, although we were in her home, we were free to come and go. We will definitely come back!

  • Bev was so helpful and friendly ..I was a weary cyclist and great to have such a warm welcome. The room was comfortable and clean and even a coffee maker was excellent. Clean bathroom and everything well organised.

  • This country house is the closest and only hostle to visit Spey Bay Beach, 20 minutes walk from the beach. The kitchen is large and clean, the nights are quiet and the quality of sleep is good. The host family is very happy to communicate, and it is a rare opportunity for English learners to improve their oral English. There was no bus back to the city on Sunday. The landlord drove nearly 40 kilometers to Elgin train station. The price is fair and it should be cheap throughout the UK. Highly recommend this Garmouth Hostle by Ms. Bev.

Stay in a unique Steading (barn) conversion in beautiful rural Speyside. Guests have sole use of the upstairs space in our home comprising - Double bed. Single sofa bed for family use. Travel cot available on request. Private bathroom. Landing area with comfortable seating, mini fridge with milk, kettle with teas and coffee. Breakfast of cereal with Greek yoghurt and homemade ( homegrown) fruit compote will be upstairs for guests. AVAILABLE TO BOOK SEPARATELY DOWNSTAIRS ROOM WITH ENSuITE.
Until a few years ago this was a working farm building. Converted from concept to completion by ourselves, with the help of some very dear friends. Our home is run mainly on solar energy, providing electricity from PV panels with heating and hot water from solar thermal panels. Do enjoy a luxurious soak in the bath and use our free hot water! Upstairs is a fabulous light space with a double bedroom with comfortable chairs to relax whilst watching television (smart tv with Netflix) reading or feel free to have a game of chess. You may just want to sit looking out the upstairs windows at the incredible views. There is space on the landing to sit in the sun, have a coffee or chilled drink from your personal mini fridge (glasses, cutlery and crockery are all provided in the sideboard). There is a fabulous bathroom with Brazilian slate tiling, lovely big claw footed bath, unusual d shaped shower cubicle to let lots of natural light in.
Our Steading is rural but convenient for travel to both beaches along the Moray Firth and mountains for walking and climbing. Located between Inverness and Aberdeen just off the main A98. We are happy to help with directions to the many places of interest, the seal colony just down the road, the Land Girls memorial a little bit up the hill, Baxter’s, Distillery’s - where do we stop!! Most of our guests will already have lots of plans and ideas. Fochabers and Buckie both have unusual little shops and a variety of places to eat.
  • Nicky was a great host. We would book again.

    Emanuel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Nicky's place. Perfect place for those who wants to enjoy Scottish countryside with all the modern amenities. The view you get when waking up is mesmerising. I would recommend this place to all the nature lovers. Our host is an amazing person, helped us with last minute booking, coordinated throughout so that we can reach the correct location. Helped us with places to dine out, and places to visit in surrounding areas. She was interesting and fun person to talk to. One of the best hosts I have met. Cheers!

  • We had one wonderful night at Nickys and Tonys place. Much love for the details and the room is very cosy. Nicky and Tony are very friendly. We definitely would come back.

    Madeleine2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s place is really lovely, located in beautiful open countryside yet near to the seaside town of Buckie. Nicky and Tony gave us a warm welcome, even though we had booked at very short notice, and Genghis, the curious ginger cat, immediately made our acquaintance. Everything we needed - and more - was provided, including compôte of home grown fruit for breakfast. We could have had fresh bread too if we’d wanted. A great find in every way.

    Isabelle2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to kick back and relax, or explore Speyside from. There are wonderful beach walks a short drive away, and Nicky and her husband are wonderful hosts. If you like cats, there is a very gorgeous ginger named Genghis who will supply all the cuddles you could desire.

  • What a wonderful stay. Ashleigh was so friendly, and welcoming yet also respecting our privacy. Storm Dennis was in full swing but we stayed cozy in the house which is tastefully decorated with lovely double aspect views for the upstairs lounge. Jess, our spaniel had a ball on the coastal paths and Findochty is such an unspoilt gem, we will certainly be back. A rare find. Thanks. X
