The house was amazing! Extremely comfortable beds (not so common in CR), big spaces, beautiful bathrooms. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed (although it's a mini fridge so keep in mind if buying perishables). And don't forget the views! On the very top of a large hill (mini mountain?), which makes for an incredible vista. We only stayed one night but will definitely take advantage of this gorgeous house again!

The house is well placed, with lots of privacy, a fantastic view from the outdoor seating area and a quiet neighborhood. Jay was a gracious host, bringing us to the house, leaving coffee and breakfast to start our day. He promptly responded to questions and inquiries. The house looks just like the pictures but what you cannot see if how private it feels from the inside. It was a romantic and relaxing place to spend a few days. There is about a 20 min walk to the charming town center (but take an inexpensive cab home, the house is at the top of a very tall hill) and Atenas has enough to keep you pleasantly occupied for a few days.

This house is even better in person. We originally booked this for the view, but Jay was so accommodating! He had fruits on the table, some groceries in the fridge, and a music system. It was perfect!!!!

Fantastic location and one with nature is how we would describe Casa Bella. 30+ mins drive to San Jose and 1 hour 20mins from Jaco. Perched on top of the hill with inspiring views to the surrounding countryside, it was great choice for our last few days in Costa Rica. Jay's friend Cristian provided a warm welcome and some local tips. Great experience and definitely recommended.

The host is so clear and organize . He wrote me in details the directions and all the stuff that we can do in the area even the places that we can order food. He provided breakfast for us . There a TV with many choices of movies . The place is so beautiful and clean ! One of my favourite place to stay in Costa Rica !

We only stayed here for one night. It's such a nice spot to spend also a whole week. It's a good starting point for different day tours and also the place itself is just nice with the great view, open kitchen and spacious rooms. Jay is very friendly. He welcomed us with with some groceries, which was very generous for just one night. I can really recommend the place and Jay as a host! Thanks!

The place is amazing. The price is unbelievable. Very clean. In secluded community with high end mansions atop a hill with a great panoramic views. The pictures don't do it justice. Jay, the host is very hospitable - drive us in from the town square and had a basket of goodies waiting for us. Have rented throughout the globe - this has been been one of the better experiences. We had a great, relaxing stay at Raj's wonderful home in Playa del Mar! The view is to die for!!! It was a perfectly romantic blissful place for us to spend the week. This was the vacation of a lifetime! We (a family of three, Mom and two twenty-somethings) highly recommend this villa to anyone who isn’t afraid of being off the beaten path and wants to experience the real Costa Rica. A one to two hour drive from most anything touristy, this insanely beautiful and spacious house is your own private piece of paradise. The views are absolutely astounding, the privacy can’t be beat, and the amenities are truly first class. One of our favorite features was that the whole house, inside and out, was wired for sound, so you can plug in your iPod and play your music, really enhancing the relaxing atmosphere and without fear of bothering the neighbors. You can walk down to the beach from the house, but it’s a little rocky there. Take a ten minute drive to Playa Blanca and enjoy a sandy swimming beach that the locals enjoy. Driving was fun and really gave us a taste of what life in Costa Rica is like, so if you are more traveller than tourist, that’s a plus! Make sure you take time to enjoy the house, but also take some adventures to beaches, ziplines, etc. You really don’t need to stop in Nicoya at the Maxi Pali for groceries, the shop at Roma del Mar is stocked well. There aren’t many local restaurants, but the ones that are there are phenomenal. Raj and Arlene were very communicative and extremely helpful—made me feel very comfortable planning this trip - an absolute pleasure to work with. Don’t miss out on this amazing place!

raj was great communicator from initial email to the end... arlene is truly a find and was incredibly helpful, going above and beyond!.. everything was super-organized... the location is a little too far removed but if you want nothing more than to just lounge around the pool, it's perfect... the house is a little rough around the edges but is appointed with everything you could possibly need for a lazy vacation... the pool and the view are amazing... arlene will arrange everything you need (thanks again, arlene!)... get massages from anja, and be sure to eat down the street at oasis - it doesn't look like much but elena is really a great cook and every meal is truly a homemade one :) bottom line: just don't expect luxury like you would get at the multi-star hotels in arenal area and it'll be an excellent experience if you're going in knowing what you're getting yourself into...

Absolutely fantastic!!!! 5 Stars!!!! We loved our stay! It is a very beautiful home, has amazing views, excellent service, just perfect. Raj was very prompt in his communications. Arlene, who manages the property, also answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. The house was very clean and well maintained. The pool area was immaculate. The neighborhood was quite nice, with lots of birds and nice areas to walk around. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Raj's home. I still have the view in my mind as I walk around NYC. The house is comfortable and spacious - great for a family with kids. The pool is just incredible. The excellent sound system was great - and fun to listen to music everywhere in the house, including at the pool. We loved being in an untouristy part of Costa Rica and going to local restaurants (Aroma del Mar, Oasis) and beaches (Playa Blanca - where we saw lots of monkeys in the trees). The kitchen is very well equipped and the Roma del Mar grocery store had everything we needed - including excellent produce and freshly baked bread. I agree with other guests that a lot of the time we just wanted to hang out at the house and stare at the view, but we did enjoy going snorkeling on the Isla Tortuga trip and bioluminescent kayaking with Bahia Rica (a kayaking and fishing outfitter/lodge near Paquera) and also the awesome hike/waterfall at Karen Mogensen. Raj was an incredible host from the very beginning. He provided full and excellent information about the house and the area and was immediately responsive by email for any little question. At Roma del Mar, Caroline, Jenny and Lars were SO available, responsive and helpful from start to finish. Little problems arose and everything was handled beautifully. The on-site availability of these folks was an absolute plus and we enjoyed getting to know them a little bit. I highly recommend staying at Raj's villa. Be prepared for an adventure (rent a 4x4 for sure) and wonderful relaxation.

This was one of our best trips ever! The Villa was absolutely amazing! It was just as described in the pictures and the description. The view was absolutely gorgeous. We had another couple and our children, so the pool was a big hit. The location was perfect for us. We didn't want to be in a crowd and surrounded by tourists. This Villa is off the beaten path and does require driving a bit if you want to do excursions. We didn't mind at all and took it as an opportunity to see more of the country. We took day trips to Samara for the beach, Montezuma for zip lining/waterfalls, Tortuga Island snorkeling, and even took the ferry to Puntarenas to the macaw sanctuary. Raj was great to work with and his info packet and tips were a great help. We would definitely choose this place again!

The villa is tucked into a cliff that overlooks a beautiful bay. It's a little rough coming in (definitely rent a 4x4), but that only adds to the adventure and fun of your visit. You wake up early to birds and howler monkeys and enjoy the best part of the day watching the sun rise. The rocking chair and the hammock were my favorite place to relax after a day at the beach or an excursion.

We were staying at the Villa for 4 days. Located at the top of a hill. Beautiful view, surrounded by nature. Better have a car to access the property since there is a steep path. Other than that great stay. Andrew is a great host. Surf boards to rent if needed. I definitely recommend this property.

Andy was a wonderful host. He arranged an ATV for us, soon after we arrived. I definitely recommend an ATV over motorcycle or car. The roads are steep and bumpy! We loved the views from our top floor villa, which was very spacious and clean. We also enjoyed meeting the resident dogs and kitty. Made the place feel like home :). Highly recommend the Surf Vista Villas and we would come back and stay anytime. Santa Teresa is a great town full of beautiful beaches and great restaurants/shops. Andy also arranged a taxi and the ATV pickup for us before we left.

Santa Teresa and Surf Vista Villa were both amazing and beautiful. Andy was very helpful, with suggestions of places to eat, he helped us find a zip lining place, and even took us on a hike in the pouring rain! The view was unbeatable, and we really liked the outdoor cooking and eating, and felt comfortable. There is a definite community feel of the place (not a lot of privacy), which was perfect for our group, but might not be ideal for couples or families. The road up to the house was very challenging in the rain and mud however, even in our 4 wheel drive jeep, but I think Andy is trying to pave it all the way up, so it might be easier in the future. Also, it was abnormally rainy while we were there, but the roads to Santa Teresa itself were pretty scary (landslides, washouts, river crossings), and the internet and phone were out while we were there, so it might be worth checking the conditions before heading out there. But we had a great time, loved the views, and Andy was a great host!

Wow! The pictures of the view do not do it justice. I extended my stay from 1 week to 2 weeks. The sunsets overlooking the Pacific are unreal, serene, and soothing to my soul. San Diego, Malibu, or Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica don't hold a candle to this view. It is very quiet and serene. Off the main road and away from the hustle of Santa Teresa. Locals are super friendly. This town is obviously a surfing mecca. Andrew is quick to communicate and accommodate. Crystal and Juan were also very helpful. My room was cleaned every other day. I had access to a nice washer and dryer. Internet works great, the fastest during my month traveling here. Showers were always hot. The beds were very comfortable. Here is the real skinny about the hill to the villas; I had no problem getting up and down with a Toyota Yaris (2 wheel drive) dry and during heavy rain (I stayed here during the rainy season - Aug & Sept). Juan fills in potholes after rain. 90% this hill is paved. I also ran every other day. The hill is steep in a couple spots but not a big deal. It is a short 3 - 5 min drive to all restaurants, grocery, and other attractions in Santa Teresa. Super La Hacienda (grocery) is a block away at the bottom of the hill. The beach is 100 yards from the bottom of the hill. Love The Bakery for breakfast. Zula Restaurant was a staple for me. Burger Rancho, Casa del Mar, Chicken Joes are all great as well. A local named Jack ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) will deliver just about anything from local restaurants to grocery. Al Capone Delivery on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN).

Andy's set up is pristine. We arrived late at night and easily navigated ourselves to our room with his instructions on the very visible message board. We were excited to visit Santa Teresa and do some exploring/surfing. The set up was so great that we didn't even leave the house the first day because we felt so relaxed with the view and beds. The architecture, construction and decorating give an unexpected aesthetic appeal. This will now be our Santa Teresa destination. Head's up: If you're traveling without a car, it's a significant hike up the hill to get to the location (hence the beautiful ocean views).

Surf Vista Villas was wonderful. I highly recommend it. The house was beautiful, peaceful and well maintained; the staff was friendly, helpful and responsive. The other guests were very sweet, and the view couldn't be beat! We loved the location - a little out of the hubbub of downtown, byt only a 10 minute walk to the closest grocery and restaurant (Soda), and 20 minute walk on the beach to the heart of downtown. Walk to the ocean in 10 minutes. Yes, there is a BIG hill to walk up to get to the lodge -- you probably want a car if you have small children or don't like walking hills. We walked it 2-4 times a day, and it was fine. I have buns of steel now ;) Thank you to Andy, Juan, Juan and the rest of the staff at Surf Villa Vistas!

Great place, great location, great view, and great owner. Yes, there is a hill to climb, but that's a small price to pay for what you get. If you can't handle it, rent an ATV. I look forward to getting back here again as soon as possible.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved the location, natural beauty, and proximity of Phil's place to all of our activities. The space is clean and modern, surrounded by the peaceful and beautifully landscaped gardens and coffee farm. The on-site meditation gardens are amazing and the coffee is delicious. Phil was friendly and extremely helpful, providing us with recommendations for dinner and things to do in the area. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Costa Rica!

We were running late bc of getting lost but once we found the place, we were greated with a friendly smile and full explantation of everything. Breakfast was tailored to our making and fresh coffee from the farm was served. We walked the grounds for monring yoga in the meditation garden (self-lead), caught up on emails using wi-fi and took hot showers in the beautiful bathroom (after a few days in a jungle farm in puerto, they were needed!). So lovely and safe and privacy but also friendliness and service when needed. Much more unique and warm than a hotel or hostel. I highly recommend and advise to stay longer too to explore san isidro--we only stayed one day bc we had to get to a wedding in manuel antonio. Gracias!

Entirely welcome to a beautiful estate. Everything was immaculate, from the grounds to the accommodations, to the Casita we stayed in. Upon arrival Phil greeted us and invited us into his home for coffee from his own place, that is grown there. The meditation garden was so great and relaxing with a stream running through it, very peaceful and tranquil. Phil also knew his way around the kitchen very well with a variety of breakfast choices. The massage from Alberto was great, highly recommend it. Overall just wonderful. Of course Phil has lived there many years and knows the whole country very well and can tell you what is good to go to as far as sights, places to eat and so on. Thanks from Heather and Buck.

Amazing place! Beautiful tranquil coffee farm with amazing gardens, a perfect end to our trip. Phil is a gracious host and we feel lucky to have met him. The cottage is very cozy and clean - our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Take at least a couple nights here if you can, you won't regret it.

We had a wonderful time and loved the house. Amazing views and such a cool part of Costa Rica. The rivers and waterfalls were amazing. Playa Ventanas is incredible. You definitely need 4x4 to get to the house. It's so worth it. We'll be telling everyone to stay here when the go to Costa Rica!

Our stay at Pura Vida Ecolodge was way beyond anything we could have imagined or expected! The open-air plan gave us a wonderful feeling of being immersed in the tropical jungle. Awakening every morning to the rising sun and the sound of Howler monkeys, sea surf and many many birds was spectacular! We so thoroughly enjoyed our Mangrove / River / Deserted Beach tour with Gersan and Ili. This is truly a special way to engage with the real goodness of Costa Rican people and is not to be missed! We can't find enough good words to say about our whole experience here and we're already thinking about how to go back again.

What can I say? We really loved the beautiful house and the overwhelming surrounding and we had a wonderful time there! Joe, Kika and Gerzan were very helpful and great hosts being very professional and polite. Definitely the highlights of our one month tour through Costa Rica. Thank you!

The good: killer views, pretty house The less than good: I initially found the website, then merely paid through abnb. So, with chagrin I admit I was expecting a lodge and not a house from what I saw online. The road to PV is intense, steep grades, super rocky and 30+ mins each way. We didn't expect that from the directions we received. Your one contact is Gersan, but we couldn't contact him via our international phone/text apps when the internet died for the near duration of our stay. And unfortunately he's the only one with access to the iPad to restart the internet. The toilet tissue hadn't been tossed during pre cleaning so the master bed/bath smelled terribly. Also we asked for check out at 9, but when he didn't show by 9:30 and we had no way to contact him, we had to press on without seeing him first. Also, they restrict your power use with fees, but they don't give examples of usage in order to understand how not to exceed the limit. That concerned us. The downstairs shower basically only dribbles. This place was great, but we felt it was over priced for what you receive.

What a perfect and secluded getaway. The house is so unique and the finishes are wonderful. The host and housekeeper were easy to communicate with and were so eager to help with anything we needed. Definitely get a meal made for you during your stay. So delicious! The wildlife and scenery were second to none. Definitely will be back!

Nice easy drive down from San Jose yet Pura Vida EcoLodge is a world away! R&R in tropical paradise with a marvelous view out to the Pacific combined with the ocean breeze = just what the doctor ordered! Rejuvenation complete!

Place is amazing for the nature and the view is breath taking... it really is... sounds of the birds at morning and looking a storm coming and going was a pleasure. Ariving is easy folowing the directions and 4x4 car recomended. House is very clean and I felt I could live there... Communication was great and easy arrival. You need to prepare the day to go out and just come back at the end of the day for relaxing... Local market is ok at Coronado, better is close to Uvita with good selection. I recomend Sibu cafe at Bahia Ballena for excelent Ristretto and food. If you want to cook local fresh fish market at the way to Tortuga beach. I definetelly recomend staying here!!! Pura Vida!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! The house was beautiful, just as pictured! It took us about 25 minutes to get there from the airport. If you have a GPS (highly recommend for all of navigating throughout Costa Rica), the coordinates will get you straight there with no problem. Take time to just relax and watch the view from the patio, and explore the trails right in your backyard! Gerald left great instructions and details on the house and was easy to get a hold of anytime. I highly recommend this place.

Mi Kiva is truly magical, the gardens are magnificent and the architecture is beautiful. I enjoyed my coffee every morning walking the gardens and listening to the birds. We were sorry we scheduled so many excursions, we would have like to have spent more time hiking the trails on the property and relaxing. The deck off the back steps is wonderful. You really have to see it to appreciate the beauty. It's so much more then we expected. Our host, Gerald was great. He took the time to make sure we arrived okay (we were delayed and very late) and checked in with us before we left. We had a contact across the street in case we needed anything. The washer and dryer come in handy with our family of 5. We are already planning another trip next year!!

Gerald was interactive during the reservation process, easy to work with in accommodating our travel times. The property was absolutely as described, expansive and generously homey feeling, the wrap around veranda gives the feeling of an even larger living space. Directions were challenging, but that was everywhere in Costa Rica, without internet connection..we seemed to be guided to our destinations by divine intervention. We quickly learned that most restaurants have WIFI making (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps easy to plan the next route. We stayed our first night and our last night at this location b/c it's fairly close to San Jose airport and Poas volcano. The first night we arrived later than planned due to Europcar rental taking 3 hours to obtain our car and difficulty locating the property in the dark and pouring rain. The property caretaker Michael was not available to check us in, so we enjoyed a late lunch at the restaurant located at the bottom of the hill (Gerald had recommended). When we returned to check in, Michael called Gerald on the house phone, we were able to speak with him; he arranged for Michael (well worth the small fee) to taxi us to a market for supplies in the pouring rain! -altho he also taxied his friends in the car with us :/

I recently stayed at Mi Kiva for my birthday celebration with a few girlfriends and our stay was wonderful. The house was exactly the way the pictures portrayed it on Airbnb. And I honestly can not say enough great things about Gerald and all of the help he provided me to make my trip so memorable. Gerald lives in the USA but he went out of his way to connect me with local resources that I actually decided to take advantage of and I am so glad that I did. The grounds of Mi Kiva were absolutely beautiful...aesthetics is everything to me and I was not let down. I truly wish that I had more time to explore the grounds, but daily excursions occupied most of my time. If you like a little seclusion, character and aren't afraid of the outdoors then a stay at Mi Kiva is a must!

Absolutely epic place to stay. It's one of the best places I've ever stayed. The house is of a great design, the rest of the grounds are beautiful and fun to explore, and there's a waterfall. It has a fully furnished kitchen and a number of other awesome amenities you just simply would not expect. This place is a wonderful place to stay.

Had a great stay at Zen. Loved the peaceful location, pool and the great design. Rosie was a great host and gave us some great tips - particularly swimming in the mangroves.

The house was quite lovely, just about as pictured. Rosie and Bruno were fantastic hosts! They were very swift to respond to questions or issues and were so helpful with providing a list of things to do. They also offer surfing lessons! My friend and I spent several hours learning to surf and it was definitely a highlight! We actually were able to get up and ride a few waves thanks to Bruno and Rosie! The area is beautiful, the beaches were amazing and the people were so friendly. Definitely a great trip!

We stayed at Rosie's Los Laureles Villa for three nights enroute to the Hatillo/Dominical area. We arrived in San Jose at 4pm and didn't want too long a drive on our first night, and this proved a wise decision. The Villa is about 1.5 hours through the mountains towards the coast. Traffic can be heavy but roads are excellent. Rosie settled us in and is a truly gracious host with lots of local knowledge. If you are interested in local plants and edibles, Rosie is a great resource and there is a wonderful organic garden to explore and 40 acres of trails to wander through beautiful tropical growth. A lovely family lives close by to caretake and tell you all about the garden (in Spanish) and if you like dogs, you will LOVE meeting their little gentle Nico. They showed us a sloth by the lake, and can do simple meals and laundry if you like. The house is spacious and clean, on multi levels, not so suitable for people with mobility issues. Kitchen was well equipped and lots of towels and comfy beds. Outdoor shower a real treat. Surrounding area (Bejuco Beach especially) easy drive and beautiful. Overall we were very happy and encourage guests to explore the property, a lovely way to start the day.

Rosie and her husband, Bruno were amazing hosts. She was extremely responsive to all communication and when our flight was delayed and as a result we would be arriving too late to easily by groceries, she volunteered to get groceries for us so they were there when we arrived. They were also amazingly helpful in giving us fantastic ideas of things to do and places to eat. We felt like we had a personal tour guide in regard to making our plans during the week we were in Costa Rica. Also, they were immediately responsive to any of our questions or concerns. The first night we arrived, one of the air conditioning units did not work well; when we told Rosie this the next morning, a repairman was there to fix it within an hour of our conversation. The house was even more beautiful than it appeared on the website, the decor was tasteful and uncluttered and it was cosy and inviting. The surrounding property and gardens were beautiful and interesting and you could wander on the 40 acres easily. There was a great deck for reading and sunning right off of the living room and the private pool was beautiful and clean. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and there was a great private outdoor shower that we used every day. The kitchen was open and had granite countertops and was surrounded on three sides with windows looking out onto the property and so you could see birds and butterflies flying by as you cooked. My husband and I stayed in the house for 6 nights with our three young adult children and everyone loved the experience. The house was in a location that we thought was perfect. It was less than a 5 minute drive to Bejuco beach ( which we thought was the most beautiful beach we visited in that part of Costa Rica). Bejuco beach had miles of sandy beaches to walk along, a mangrove jungle to explore and there were very few people there. It was also about 20-25 minutes south of Jaco which is a tourist destination for surfing with a lot of restaurants and shops. We liked being able to easily access what Jaco had to offer without having to actually stay there. The house was also less than an hour north of Dominical which is a beautiful region with access to hiking, waterfalls and beaches. Lastly, we had Rosie's husband, Bruno give us private surfing lessons. He was an amazingly kind, knowledgable, organized and patient teacher. My husband and sons have taken surfing lessons many times in many places and they felt that Bruno was the best teacher that they ever had and they were excited to make a lot of progress with their surfing skills. We have NOTHING negative to say about our experience and can't emphasize enough how great out time in the house was. We will definitely try to stay with Rosie again when we return to Costa...

Fantastic accommodations - the home was beautiful and private. Our days started and ended in the pool. The land it sits on is great for hiking and checking out the wildlife (we saw plenty of birds, iguanas, and caimans). The nearby town had plenty of restaurants and there are multiple beaches nearby. Bujuco beach was our favorite - blue water, black sand, and practically empty (we were there during the week). Rosie helped coordinate some day trips for us (our favorite was a trip to Isla Tortuga - an island where we snorkeled, hiked, and lounged. Another favorite was hiking at Rainmaker - a rainforest hike with multiple waterfalls to splash around in. This home is ideal for people looking for a base to go out and explore the CR Pacific Coast. We definitely plan a return trip!

The Zen Retreat was great. The house was clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped. The AC was ideal and effective after a long day out. The location was great for activities. 20 min north was the adventure park, 20 min south was surfing and catamaran tours. We drove to Jaco one evening in a downpour and a tree fell blocking us from the droveway, Rosie had it cleared before we even woke. Monkeys, frogs, lizards, sloths, toucans all right from your porch. It's close to the road but nestled in the jungle, which is ideal! We never noticed noise. We loved this place but dont forget to bring bug spray!

This was the perfect vacation spot for us. It's very stylish, peaceful house, away from the noise in Jaco and Manuel Antonio, but a short drive from each. Bejuco beach is beautiful, and it's a 3 minute drive from the house. We spent mornings at the beach or at a nature park, napped in the afternoon, and spent the evening in the pool, which we had all to ourselves; the picture doesn't do it justice. The house is very nice and we enjoy it very much. We recommande highly this place if you want to relax and also you can go to restaurant and grocery close to the house. We recommend a car to travel to Jaco or further.

It is hard to imagine how this apartment could have been any better.  We had an amazing few days in San Jose and from initial contact to check out, the apartment, security staff, residents were exceptional. We mistakenly left one suitcase behind but although the owners were out of the country we were able to retrieve our suitcase with no issues. They are very responsive through social media as well as phone. I would have a repeat visit again.

Luis place was just short of amazing. The pictures don't do the views any justice. Penthouse was very clean, organized and had everything you needed to cook a meal. Place was a tad bit hard to find and you definitely want to rent a car. Minor things like the AC in second bedroom was dripping, light in the master bedroom was out and the master bathroom faucet wouldn't run hot water. 9 out of 10

Exceeded all Expectations! The penthouse is exquisitely decorated in a prime location. It is only a short taxi or Uber ride to all major points within the city. The photos do not give it the credit it deserves. The living room, dining room and bedroom windows/sliding doors open up to an amazing patio that overlooks a greenbelt with amazing views. The vaulted ceilings in the living area are just as impressive, allowing the penthouse to feel like an extension of the beautiful views of the outside. Nothing beats waking up to the sounds of nature - water flowing through the creek in the greenbelt, birds and parrots chirping in the outside and the fresh air/breeze flowing in from the outside. The bedrooms are modern, spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Enough closet space throughout to house a month's worth of clothes! The bathrooms are also spacious and modern. The water pressure was excellent and the 12" rain shower head...made all the difference! The penthouse also has a beautiful kitchen and a washer and dryer. An amazing infinity pool is available for those that just want to relax and get away from it all! Overall, the penthouse is far from what any hotel could offer. It is an a great neighborhood and the property has security guards at the entrance monitoring the arrival and exit of all residents, guests and visitors. The penthouse was very clean and of high quality. I have stayed at high-end five star hotels during the past 20 years as I have traveled to many places throughout the world. The penthouse rivals any of these hotels as it provides something none of the hotels compete with...feeling of being at home. My trip to San Jose would have not been the same if it wasn't for my stay at the penthouse and greatly appreciate Luis Jimenez for his attentiveness, professionalism and for being an excellent host! Luis was very responsive to my requests for information and went above and beyond to ensure my stay at the penthouse was a pleasant. The location is in a very safe neighborhood although travel to many attractions are pretty far based on the traffic.... The apartment was beautiful with an amazing view, the showers have rainfall shower heads, the bed is firm yet super comfy, huge living room for entertaining, washer and dryer. The host provides all amenities necessary for your stay ( iron, extra towels, blankets, cleaning supplies anything you might need he has) the complex has an awesome infinity pool, gym, children's area and trail down to the creek. The complex is close to a fresh market, and the US Embassy. In conclusion if you're looking for a great safe luxurious place to stay this is it. I look forward to staying here again.

Luis's penthouse is amazing! One of my best airbnb experiences yet. The guards were very helpful when we arrived and showed us up to the correct apartment. The place was gorgeous and clean - just like the photos. Everyone we met in the complex was very friendly and welcoming. Luis was quick to respond and kindly answered any of our questions. Absolutely amazing value for the price; I can't recommend this place enough!

Luis' penthouse is a beautiful place with a great view. We enjoyed getting up and watching the sunrise over the mountains. The view of the river and the flowering trees down below is also very scenic. (It's just too bad that San Jose is still dumping the city's untreated sewage in the river but hopefully they'll finish building a treatment plant soon). Note that when the wind picks up it can be quite loud in the apartment. The penthouse is immaculately furnished and has everything you would need for a short or long stay. Luis was easily reachable by email or messaging. The complex is safe and has a lovely infinity pool. The neighbourhood is quiet but has some shops and restaurants within walking distance. Plaza Mayor, a shopping center with a large AutoMercado (grocery store) is withing walking 10 minutes walking distance. For longer distances getting around is quick and easy with Uber.

Jean and Al are awesome hosts. The pictures definitely don't do the place justice! It's AMAZING!!! From the fresh picked tangerines and Costa Rican pears to the cool breezes and great people this is the place to stay on your trek through this beautiful country. It's tucked away in the mountains but Jean gives great directions and the cab drivers are great. Everyone in the town is welcoming. Jean and Al's awesome neighbor's gave me a ride to Jaco beach (about an hour away) and even gave me a ride to the airport. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jean, Alex, their beautiful place, and the great town of Atenas!

I had a lovely experience at this home! The hosts are wonderful and available to help. There is a restaurant walking distance. The home itself is exactly what I expected and more. Perfect temperature with the breeze and I didn't get a single bug bite, and this is coming from someone who usually gets eaten alive. The home had wifi, but it is coming from the host's home so it can be spotty. That was no problem for me since I was not there to be on the Internet. If you are going to stay here and travel elsewhere after, I would recommend renting a car since by bus you will have to travel back to San Jose before going most other places. It just depends on your itinerary and how much time you have and your budget. I was very pleased with my stay and I will definitely recommend this home to family and friends!

Everything was as described on the page(expect for the lake being drained) they are awesome hosts and everything was very easy. It is a very unique and memorable property that's great for someone looking for something different

Just returning from a 12 day trip exploring Costa Rica. For the first 2 nights of my trip, I (along with my boyfriend) stayed with Jean and Al in their guesthouse, The Rancho. In a lovely little neighbourhood, just 5-10 minutes drive from downtown Atenas, The Rancho is settled on Jean and Al's stunning 4 acre property. The Rancho was clean and had its own rustic flare. Jean and Al were more than accommodating, inviting us to freely explore their gorgeous property. They have a beautiful observatory deck on the highest point of their land where you can overlook the valley. Staying in this guesthouse, we were immersed into the Costa Rican natural environment. For nature lovers, Jean and Al's guesthouse is highly recommended! There is a restaurant within walking distance that had all your typical Costa Rican dishes. We ate here twice, and both times were very good! Jean and Al were gracious in providing us with granola and bagels, as well as fresh organic fruit picked from their property. I would recommend these accommodations to any family and/or friends that were planning to travel Costa Rica.

Lovely stay at The Ranch. The property was absolutely stunning with a large tangerine tree in the back yard to accompany the local coffee Jean left us in the kitchen from the coffee farm next door. Perfect place if you are looking to enjoy a few peaceful nights in a tranquil scene with the sounds of nature and serenity of your thoughts and seclusion. Lovely hosts and property. Will definitely come again when I visit costa rica again someday.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our Costa Rican honeymoon trip, and our first AirBnB stay too! It's was awesome! The grounds that the bungalow are on are BEAUTIFUL. Jean said she's a retired landscape architect and you can tell - It's gorgeous. The bungalow itself is super neat - you won't find anywhere else that's as cool as this place! Al & Jean were awesome hosts and surprised us with leaving us some breakfast foods and fresh fruit (some of which came from their own organic fruit trees!) in the bungalow upon arrival, which was so sweet. The bungalow is a pretty open space, so don't be surprised to see a bird dart in and out, but that lends itself to a really unique Costa Rica experience! Our hosts were wonderful - they even met us in town to help us find our way there on our first trip in, and if we ever needed anything they were right there! Would definitely recommend!

Jean and Al were ideal hosts, and they have created a magical getaway in Costa Rica on their dream property. Between the house's prime location on a lily-filled lake to the kindness of Al and Jean, this getaway is a must for those who want an inspired, beautiful space and love being connected to nature's rhythm.

This is a MUST do when in Costa Rica. My husband and I rented a car and drove all over the place and saved The Rancho in Atenas for our last day/night. Jean had been MORE than helpful prior to the trip answering my many questions I had and giving me great directions to their place (directions are difficult in CR when you're from the US lol.) When we pulled onto their property I was taken back by the beauty of the grounds and nature all around. The open air "tree house" looked just like the photos but even better. Jean was nice enough to leave us some breakfast, fruit, coffee & tea for in the morning which was great. I was worried about bugs during out sleep but we had no problems at all. It is in a very safe neighborhood with wonderful views all around. There is a nice mini fridge in the kitchen too for any extra things you might want to grab at the nearby store. This was truly the highlight of our trip, we are already sending some friends to stay here and we plan on being back next year! A very big THANK YOU to Jean and her husband for a wonderful FIRST Air BnB experience. The Rancho is truly unique and memorable. Pura Vida!

Justin & Jessica (here forth know as JSquare) are the best freaking hosts I have ever had on Airbnb. I booked their second floor and from the beginning before I even left home they where in constant communication with me and had answers to all my questions or concerns. Staying in their little piece of paradise in Esterillos will probably be the best part of your trip. The house is clean, has most everything you need, is in a safe residential area, close enough to the beach and small town core and intimate enough for you not to see most anyone but the local lizards or birds. Justin will make it a personal mission for your stay to be as smooth and awesome as possible whether this is by helping you do your first grocery run, changing the jacuzzi water every day or dropping by with an impromptu local fish in hand ready to be BBQ'ed. What else can I say about this place: - the view is worth it's price in gold - the kitchen has everything you need to last through your stay - the bed is comfortable and big - the internet connection is rock solid (I worked remotely for two weeks with VOIP and conference calls without issues) - it's amazing value for the price JSquare are continuously improving the place based on each guests feedback so this place is bound to only get better. This place was great! Our host greeted us within minutes of arriving and gave us a tour of the property. Awesome house with even better views! Justin was extremely accommodating and helped arrange different activities for us (fishing and surfing). There are cool spots to eat and chill within walking distance. We will definitely come back next time we visit. HIGHLY recommend!

This place is INCREDIBLE. It's the most adorable house right on a little hill overlooking the water. We only stayed here for one night (our last night) but WISH we came earlier. This place is ALWAYS booked, so we just got lucky. Everything looks brand new -- the hammocks are incredible, and the location is just divine. If you can get this place, book it. You won't regret it.

The loft is gorgeous, we stayed up there all day to relax. The close beach is quite lonely but wide and beautiful, the village is small but has 2 or 3 restaurants and a shop with an acceptable range of goods. Justin and Jessica are very friendly and provide a free laundry service which is super. Recommended highly.

The description of the apartment in downtown San Jose, Costa Rica was precise. Marie mentioned that one shouldn't waste your time outside the city when you can get a central place in town. Marie was great at returning questions within 24 hours. The apartment was perfect, it had a great view of the volcano. We were able to walk to all the museums that we wanted to. Two recommendations: for meals go to El Patio, then the Jade Museum and then outside for the venders in the back for nice local products to take home to friends.

Marie was a great host. Impeccable customer service and very nice. Got back very fast to all our emails. Our flight was delayed and we couldn't meet at the time we had set up but she was awesome enough to come later in the evening when we finally did arrive. The apartment is spectacular. Way better then we had expected. Really clean, every amenity you could want and in an ideal location. Very safe and near pretty much everything. I would and will stay here again no doubt when I'm back in San Jose.

Although we never had the pleasure to meet her, Marie was a very accommodating host. She had someone meet us at the front door and show us the ropes. The apartment was very clean and lived up to all other previous positive comments. Marie was also very easy to get in touch with and responded quickly. We were only here for one evening but would definitely stay here again if ever back in San Jose. The city itself, we found difficult to navigate, but this did not detract in anyway from our Air B&B experience. Thanks Marie!

Marie's apartment is in the perfect location to see San José's sights and museums. It's an easy walk to the central market, the churches, and the art and jade museums. The apartment is safe, clean, and comfortable. Also, Marie is super helpful and easy to reach. Both my friend and I had issues with delayed flights, but Marie always responded and arranged for our taxis. I highly recommend staying here.

Lovely clean apartment in San Jose. Marie was kind enough to accommodate our needs and provide an extra bed. She also left juice, tea, coffee, and cookies. We easily found the 24 hr parking lot ($16) and Juan met us with the keys (he was very helpful and helped us do laundry also). In the day this was a quick easy walk to the restaurants and theatre, in the evening we felt a little uncomfortable walking back to the apartment but not as bad as other areas of San Jose! ALSO a hot shower after a week on the coast was like heaven! :) Thanks again Marie!

Raymond's place was easy to find and is in a spectacular location. We were just there for one night and didn't meet Raymond, but he was very helpful with directions and easy to communicate with. The guards were accommodating and helpful when letting us in as well. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and city below. We spent some time on the porch in the morning, listening to the birds and enjoying the nature around. Would definitely come back!

Raymond was beyond helpful before and after arriving at the home. The view was absolutely spectacular and we spent most of our time on the balcony. When arriving the first day we ate lunch with Raymond which is where he informed us about local dining and precautions while visiting San Jose. He got back to any of my messages promptly. The fact there was a gate and a 24 hr security guard made the stay feel very safe.The 3 dogs are the property are very cute and Sasha actually hiked Pico Blanco with us. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone and would 100% stay here again.

The photos do NOT lie, in fact it was even prettier. Very secure property, absolutely no worries about our vehicle and the guards were friendly. As for directions to the place it was not difficult at all. I do recommend a rental car but that's for all of Costa Rica in general. He also sent us a helpful list of places to see and where to eat and was quick to respond if we had any questions. The actual place was very clean and a cozy bed as well. Found this location to be ideal for when we were venturing around San Jose. If anything the views are spectacular!!!! Ceiling to floor Windows!

Rays place was absolutely spectacular. Best view in San Jose, a short taxi ride from the airport and not too far from great restaurants. The privacy and nature is just unforgettable. And the place was very comfortable, great bed, nice bathroom and a decent kitchen. Will definitely try to stay again!

Raymond was always prompt and attentive if we ever needed him. Our house and the rest of the property were absolutely gorgeous and there wasn't anything else we needed. Raymond also suggested places to visit in San Jose and made sure everything was great! If we ever come back to SJO, we'll definitely stay in one of his properties again. Ray was in communication at all times and arranged a pickup drop off to the airport as requested. He even organised a minivan for the day to visit attractions around San Hose. Excellent accomodation. Stunning views and garden and 24 hr security at front gate. Beautiful area in the hills surrounding the accomodation. A little further from the airport than what we expected but worth the drive. Ray was excellent with his communication. 3 gorgeous rescue dogs to welcome you!

Beautiful, secure property in a very nice neighborhood. Ray's driver was awesome, accommodating, and much less expensive than a taxi. I've been to Costa Rica a few times now and have never stayed in/near San Jose for very long (just skipped right to one of the coasts) but I'd like to spend a few days exploring in town next time and definitely stay in Ray's floor-to-ceiling guesthouse with a great view.

My boyfriend and I wanted a quick getaway from the city. This was the PERFECT place. Raymond was a fantastic host and made us feel 100% comfortable. The space was breathtaking. The photos do not do it justice. The space was clean and comfortable. The dogs were the cutest we almost took little Negra home! We are recommending this pace to all our friends and we would definitely be staying here again!

We vacationed a few days in Jacó, so we spent excellent from the time we made the Ami reservation was always in contact at all times and always attentive, the stay was excellent, the apartment had everything we required for our stay pleasant, and the apartment is very close to the beach and in excellent condition. Definitely an excellent choice for book the apartment of Ami.

Amnon was great, he was able to accomodate us last minute since i booked it literally that same evening. The place is gated with a security so it's completely safe, you have a huge super nice pool pretty much to yourself and the apt/condo is awesome. Very modern and comfortable. Spotless and the a/c is strong. It is about a 4 minute drive to downtown Jaco or a 10-15 minute walk. Thanks again Ami!

this place was super amazing, location was superb right next to town and the home itself was just beautiful. our host was amazing and checked in on us continually to make sure everything was going good, he was very accomodating and very easy check in. i would definetly stay here again if i ever find myself in costa rica, and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area. everything you can possibly ask for in this home.

Ami was extremely attentive, continually staying in contact with our arrival and stay. We had a small issue with our internet and Ami couldn't have been any better. Getting things fixed very quickly! We loved the recommendations took advantage of many of them. We would recommend this place to friends and family! Fantastic host and location was great!!

Booked same day as staying. Easy to get keys from lock box. Condo was clean and just as described. This could have easily been a condo in any major North American city - definitely above CR standards. Lots of towels, hand soap in bathrooms, shampoo and body wash in showers. Showers had good water pressure. Kitchen was fully equipped. Note: there is only AC in the bedrooms and not family room or kitchen. Make sure to bring laundry detergent if you plan on doing laundry. When we arrived the TV in the family room was not there (being repaired) which was kind of annoying but not a big deal.

The place was beautiful. Nice community with a pool and hot tub and 24 hour security. I would defiantly stay again.

Marie's apartment in Edificio Vincente, in downtown San Jose, is a wonderful space. High quality furnishings and appliances. We enjoyed cooking some of our meals and everything we needed to do that is available. We also walked around the city and discovered so many interesting things to see and do right close to Marie's location. The security measures for the building are excellent, although we felt safe in San Jose the whole time wherever we went. The most notable thing about our stay at Marie's was that when we first arrived, we'd had an upsetting experience and I was distraught, but Marie greeted us with warmth, understanding and consolation. We really appreciated that kindness from a stranger. If we ever return to San Jose, CR, we will surely stay at this airbnb.

This was the perfect place to land while staying in San Jose. Marie was always available for questions, and flexible with our schedule and needs. We felt safe, and the studio apartment set-up was all we required. Within walking distance to many of the central city areas and a variety of restaurants.

My parents and my brother had a very good visit thanks to Marie, I explain many things for the trip and the place was exactly as the photos show it.

Even though we had hard time locating the apartment, Marie gave us useful instructions and welcomed us to her really nice apartment. It is very clean, new and comfortable. We stayed one night but for those willing to stay longer in San Jose, it is the perfect place since it is close to everything. I would definitely recommend this place in San Jose as being a "valor segura".

This cozy, well equipped and spacious studio in downtown San José was the ideal place where to start off and plan my backpack holiday in Costa Rica. The studio is at walking distance from some bus terminals connecting to the airport and to other destinations. Marie responded instantly to my messages and gave me a few tips upon my arrival in town. Good experience!

Marie place is in the heart of San Jose culture. It was above my expectations. She had everything for a week's stay, plus extra amenities (coffee, tea, candy, juice, and full equipped kitchen). Getting in and out of bunk bed may be a chore to some; but no problem for me. Otherwise, you can sleep on pull out sofa. Marie place is a great value in San Jose and I highly recommend her.

Marie was an excellent host and her apartment was just as her listing showed - cute, stylish, and complete with everything we needed for a night in downtown San Jose. She even left us local coffee! Marie and her daughter were patient with us when we were lost in the city and had left too little time to drive from the airport, and they directed us to the property in very good English. The location was great, as we were able to walk to the local attractions we were interested in seeing - museums, restaurants and markets. Thank you!

This was such a beautiful home and location. Waking up to the spectacular view and enjoying a cup of coffee in the fresh air was our favorite part. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed being outdoors with all the comforts of a home.

We fell in love with this treehouse. It was a truly magical, wonderful, and unique experience. We arrived when the sun was setting and I was a bit on edge b/c of all the loud animal/insect noises that I wasn't used to at the time of the day but I very quickly got over it. This places forced me out of my comfort zone and I am very grateful for that. Mornings were my favorite here. I REALLY enjoyed the outdoor shower. There were ants, no big deal. We didn't have any crazy problems with the bugs, there was a very large cicada on the fridge when we first checked in and my boyfriend picked him up and placed him on a leaf nearby for him to climb off, it was pretty cool actually. Julito gave us a tour of the farm and we harvested produce from the farm for our breakfast in the mornings. We really miss the treehouse and hope to return someday.

at first the place is enchanting perfect everything is as it is said to be beautiful scenery majestic setting clean... an then it gets dark! let me first say that i have no problems with bugs what so every i love nature and everything in it which is why i thought this would be the perfect vacation. Wrong very wrong. We came back the first night after a delicious dinner at tierra y fugo yes that was very true most amazing food ever, so we returned to the treehouse filled with cockroaches which we took as fine your in the jungle sleep with the semi light on not a big deal they stayed away thennnnn we woke up in the morning to find our whole body covered in red spots (ant bites) their is a nest under the tree house on the bedroom side that allows them to crawl in through the bed. Also there is no plastic liner on the bed which makes me scared that the bed is infested with god knows what. Julio was sweet and available and the property is as described beautiful and amazing. unfortunately if the maintenance on the place would be done properly i would recommended this place but NOT for the price it is at if i wanted to sleep and get eaten id just sleep outside for free my tent would protect me more.

This tree house is wonderful! Loved to stay there.

The tree house was an amazing experience. It has complete privacy and a view of the the jungle. The sounds of the jungle at night were pretty amazing and the sounds of the birds in the morning is nothing short of spectacular. We have lived in Costa Rica for over a year and this will be placed in our "top 5 things to do" in the country. It's like camping in a tree but more comfortable and with power, water, a fridge, a toilet and a comfy suspended bed. We were also lucky enough to have a storm roll through at night and it didn't disappoint. Such a great experience.

The place is as described. The views are incredible. The construction and design of the treehouse alone is worth your booking. It is a little secluded and a car rental is recommended. Will cost $10 for a taxi ride into Montezuma. Tierra y Fuego was incredible. Highly recommended!

This was a great place to rest and relax/ recharge. We brought our own food which we easily prepared with the kitchen supplies available and stayed mostly in the treehouse for two whole days. The bed is very comfortable and there were fans so we maintained a cool temperature. Great place to stay if you are interested in being close with nature. We saw many birds and geckos. We also saw two boas, which was a little scary, but they were not dangerous. Julito, from the ranch, was helpful with pest control and very friendly. We heard howler monkeys, but did not see any. The mosquito net over the bed kept out almost all of the bugs. We stayed here beginning of November and enjoyed the weather, and did not have too many bugs.

We have nothing but great things to say about our stay here. The tree house is quiet and secluded, yet only an hr walk from the town of Montezuma. Joseph, our host, was very helpful and the workers on the organic farm were more than friendly and welcoming, taking us out to dinner and to a fun Latin night. There was a private yoga studio with silk drapes where you can practice aerial yoga or dance. Though it was the rainy season, the mosquitos weren't too much of a problem, although we did end up with quite a few bites.

Monika was amazing! We felt welcome, comfortable, safe and informed! Tha property and home are beyond words. Peaceful and exciting at the same time. Thank you for the experience and we can't wait to return!

Our stay at Boca Sombrero on Peninsula Osa, Costa Riva was simply breathing taking and beyond our imagination. We stayed at Casa Troya from which we believe the designer should be awarded for its beautiful construction and Apart from the house, Osa's Flora & Fauna, the beach and the fantastic hosts made this stay the highlight of our vacation. A wonderful place for nature and animal lovers. There are no walls, no doors - everything is open, you have to like. The sea weighs one to sleep. And you can do from there many tours. Kayaking, Corcovado NP ... We can observe macaws and capuchin monkeys right out of the hammock.

This is one of the most special, amazing places we've ever stayed. A friend previously stayed here and her recommendation did not steer us wrong. The house is an architectural marvel - sustainable, cozy 'glamping' with clean, modern feel. Staying here is the perfect blend of being totally vulnerable in the wilderness and being coddled in a 5-star resort. The house is comfortably huge for 2 people, and has no walls, so we had several visitors including very sweet dogs (shout-out to Ringo Starr), a non-venomous snake, bats who kept the insect situation under control, lovely chirping birds, little crabs. The distant howler monkeys sound pretty scary some nights, but that kept things interesting. We were able to spot cool birds and other monkeys from the 'living room'/porch situation. The hammock was perfect for reading, and a beach is steps away. The guidebook provided in the house gave us great advice for a diverse range of activities. We kept a slower pace on this leg of our CR roadtrip - loved the river hike, Martina's, Playa Pan Dulce, the giant bench at the surf shop next door, dinner at Lapa Rios, checking out Puerto Jimenez, etc. Most of all we loved just being in this house lounging around and enjoying the beautiful setting. Thank you for making us feel welcome (Lindsay and Monika) and for giving us the opportunity to stay here. We have great memories and hope to return someday.

Gretchen's Place was unbelievable. Monika was our host for the week and we were in constant communication via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). She made it very easy for us to plan a horseback riding excursion to a nearby waterfall (which we had to push back a couple days due to the rain). We also really enjoyed the frequent visits from the dogs on the property, so friendly and cute! Our stay really couldn't have been better. The vacation home was the perfect relaxing getaway that we needed.

We arrived late at night and found the house easily by taxi. We were met by Miguel who also lives on the property, he showed us around and made sure we were comfortable and happy.

This bamboo house was such a delight for me, my cousin and mother! We had amazing sunrises and views. We were able to do adventurous hikes, horse back riding and a boat ride during the days and rest in the evenings! The staff was so helpful and kind helping us book any adventures of our interest! The house is like a big tree house with everything you need. We had to drive 30 min to the market to get food which was no problem and a fun ride. Thank you so much. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed 13 days in Costa Rica and 3 days at the Osa Beachfront house. Of all the places we stayed, Osa Beachfront was our favorite. There was something magical about the house, and being steps from the beach! We were on our honeymoon, and I would highly recommend Osa for a romantic getaway. Perfect place to get away from it all. If you like surfing, or want to learn, there's a surf instructor just next to the property, who is very patient and costs are reasonable. The property is open air, which means a roof and no doors to lock. It is open and there is a safe box to store your valuables. There are some bugs as well as bats that fly through the place. All part of the experience. Wish the place had been available for longer than the 3 nights we stayed.

The condo was very nice and very secure. Ami was a very attentive host and was very helpful. The condo had very strict rules that seemed at times excessive. The condo community is family friendly.

The host was very accessible which was helpful. I dont think I ever waited over a few minutes for a response to one of my questions day or night. He was able to accommodate a last minute request I had as well. The place was very nice and appeared to be recently renovated. We felt very safe and secure there since it was a gated community that checked everyone in and out when they left. There was parking for our car right next to the apartment. It was also directly across from the pool which was a nice treat. I loved the king sized master bedroom with a strong AC unit right above it and views of the pool. It was a right next to the main street in town which is nice for a walk to a restaurant, and it was a short walk to the beach. This place was great and I would love to stay again if I make it back to Jaco in the future.

After a long drive i was glad that the house was really nice with comfortable beds. The location is perfect and the security gave me a piece of mind.

The condo was exactly like it was described. Ami was a very nice host and responded to our questions promptly. I recommend this condo to anyone visiting Jaco.

Ami was an awesome host--upon making the booking, he immediately sent a packet of information with recommendations for Costa Rica. He responded to all my questions quickly and with detailed information. The neighborhood was beautiful and came with the extra security of being a gated community. The apartment itself was very clean, and it was awesome to have access to the pool. The large bed was very comfortable. Guests who like to sleep in late should sleep in the larger bedroom because there is a skylight over the bunk beds that is more suited for early risers.

Great place with an even better location! Condo was right next to pool which made jumping in to to cool off easy. The beach is right down the road and great restaurants are even closer. Definitely will be back next time in jaco!

We loved this house! It was so warm and cozy, and when it rains the sound is so soothing in the house with the way the ceiling is. It was easy to find and get to once we got into town we called and within minutes the family that watches the home met us. There are tons of recommendations (go to her pizza place she recommends). Felt very safe also.

Tanya's home is beautiful and very private. The home has beautiful wood with lots of glass and a wrap around porch with views of nothing but the Costa Rican forest. We were there 6 nights and never met Tanya (she was in Canada) or her housekeepers although they were available by phone if we needed them. The housekeepers' son met us at Hotel Belmar and we followed him to the house. Completely surrounded by the forest, you walk about 50 meters through the woods from your car to the house. Constant hummingbird activity. Howler monkey sounds in the background but never saw them. Made use of Tanya's reading books and her notebooks containing restaurant and tour recommendations. The availability of the washer was helpful. Hotel Belmar is a five minute walk up a dirt/gravel road which is a great place for food, drinks and the view. The Hotel Belmar staff was extremely helpful booking tours and answering questions. Would not hesitate to stay there again if traveling to Monteverde.

Tonya was incredibly responsive and the listing was completely accurate. This was one of the best vacation places I have ever stayed. It is quite literally in the rain forest with all the comforts of home and a spectacular view of the forest. We could not ask for anything more from a place to stay in Monte Verde with access to the town and the Cloud Rain Forest preserve.

Fabulous home! Loved the private setting, the soaring ceilings, gorgeous wrap around deck with great furniture. Loved watching hummingbirds off the deck. Great place!!

Even we did not meet Tanya personally, the communication was just great. Tanya just does everything to make her home yours. We loved the place. You cannot get closer to nature and still have that modernness like in Tanya's home. It's just a perfect treat and get away. What I liked most is, that you can see the same animals from the balcony than you are looking for in the nature reserves around. We can highly recommend that place!

Tanya's Cloud Forest Sanctuary house was absolutely wonderful. After a week down on the Osa Peninsula doing some hard hiking deep in the jungle - the house was a perfect respite from it all, a place for my family to regroup and be at peace. We felt so at home and comfortable there. My family loved that the house was surrounded by trees and had so many windows from floor to ceiling. It made us feel like we were in the forest, but protected, safe and warm inside. I was especially thankful for a place to wash and dry my clothes, for hot water and a nice shower and tub. Tanya has a nice collection of books and the house has a lot of comfortable furniture to enjoy. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and decorated nicely. We also appreciated the notebook full of information about sights, activities and restaurants in the area. Thank you, Tanya for sharing your beautiful home with the world, it was truly an honor to be welcome there. It was one of my family's FAVORITE places that we stayed on our trip and it even topped the fancy, over-priced resort-type places we stayed at later in our vacation. Just beautiful....

A beautiful house secluded in the forest a short walk from Hotel Belmar. Sugar-water was supplied for the hummingbird feeders, and the hummingbirds provided endless entertainment on the wrap-around deck.

Tanya's place was an absolute gem in the middle of the rainforest. We met a member of the Corrales family at Luna Azul just down the street and she led us to the house. The pictures do not do the place justice, it has an amazing wrap around deck and open windows. Tanya had everything labeled for us so we didn't really have any questions. Please do yourself a favor and book here if you come to Monteverde!
