By far my favourite Air BNB stay !! ASDA 1 min away, warm, clean, great facilities ! Very lucky to have stayed here ! Recommend to anyone ! Can't wait for my next visit!

We absolutely loved our stay in Peter's cosy home. Breakfast served in the morning was yummy and both hosts were nice to chat to. The facilities were fantastic, highlight being the new ensuite and we certainly got a good night's sleep. Access to Alton was easy by car, rounding off our stay nicely. Would certainly recommend!

Very friendly and hospitable hosts. Not only do you get a nice, clean bedroom with a lovely private bathroom (Shower), but the use of a private lounge and TV! Also had a kettle with tea, milk and biscuits in the bedroom. Full English Breakfast included in the price! (If you want something else for breakfast, talk to Peter before you arrive.) Fantastic, Highly Recommended!

Welcoming, clean, comfortable room with all the amenities of a B&B. Lockable room door, nice shower, within 5 minutes walk of the town. I can strongly recommend staying here. Breakfast was lovely and the hosts were very lovely people. Excellent.

Peter and Alison were excellent hosts and the room was very comfortable with all the nice things in life ( tea, coffee biscuits and bottled water) . An excellent en suite bathroom with a wonderfully powerful shower completed the very professional setup. The house is in a quiet residential street, within easy walking distance of Uttoxeter town centre and the racecourse and a short drive to Alton Towers.. A delicious full English breakfast (and excellent coffee) made sure we were setup for the day. Highly recommended, lovely hosts, a delightful place to stay- thank you.

Pete & Ali were lovely and welcoming, making us feel like part of the family. Breakfast was lovely. We stayed in a ensuite room prepared with water, tea & coffee and also had a dining/living room for our exclusive use - loads of space to relax & really feel at home! The house is conveniently located just round the corner from shops and food places and (our reason for staying) very conveniently located for getting to Alton Towers. I happily recommend Pete and Ali. They are lovely and made our stay a real pleasure. Thank you xx

He sorted out early collection of the key and was happy for Elliot to have takeaway food at the house (even provided plate and cutlery!) Elliot even liked the family pet cat!

Cornelis gave us perfect indication and was really open about our late night arrive. Surprisingly to me he spoke Spanish! That was a nice details for a good hostess. We just stayed for a few hours of sleep because we were just stopping by, but the place is super quite, calm, and inside it feels like home and super well decorated.

Really lovely stay in a beautiful, warm cabin which had everything we needed! Towels, juice, tea, coffee, milk all included. Wifi was helpful with the lack of signal. We arrived in the dark, so it was lovely to wake up to see the horses and ducks!

My sons (10 & 13) and I had a lovely time at the Folly this Easter. It was the perfect base for day trips to Lud's Church in the Peaks and Chester Zoo as well as Alton Towers. The Folly is beautifully decked out, has a proper bathroom and is warm and cosy. You're in a field next door to ponies, ducks & geese and there are hedgerows to explore and coneys in the next field along. It's handy having wi-fi as we couldn't get any mobile signal - which was a blessing in disguise! A great find for kids or a romantic getaway. The owners run a b&b next door so they are on hand although we didn't need for anything. It's very private and undisturbed and you can park just a few yards away. We were welcomed with a warm caravan, a very helpful local area info sheet and there were piles of fluffy towels and very nice plain white bed linen. (Perfect for non-chintz lovers.) Highly recommended.

We couldn't fault our stay in this absolutely beautiful house! We stayed with Sarah and family for one night for convenience of visiting Alton towers and had a fantastic 2 days. Sarah couldn't have been more helpful, giving us directions and suggestions on where to go locally which made our stay even better! We couldn't believe how big the room was, and it was so nicely decorated with gorgeous soft furnishings! We will definitely be coming back in the summer for a longer stay to see more of the beautiful area! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Sarah!

Really lovely room in pleasant family house with a private bathroom. Hosts made us feel really welcome and were helpful with local knowledge. Lovely location in village and only about 10 minute drive or 40 minute walk to Uttoxeter.

Sarah gave us a wonderful welcome to her beautiful historic home. The bedroom was stunning as was the bathroom, both could have been straight out of a high fashion magazine. We arrived after a 20 min drive from Alton Towers, so a very easy hop and had dinner in Uttoxeter ( just 5 min away with lots of choices ), finally a lovely breakfast was provided. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend

We had an AMAZING stay! The space is even better than the photos. Sarah was easy to communicate with and we felt very comfortable with her and her family. We got in later than planned and she was very accommodating and at no point did we feel like an inconvenience. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. The view was perfect. We would highly recommend staying here as long as you can!

I booked this for my business partner and his girlfriend - my parents live in the village! It's beautiful and this is what they had to say: We had such a wonderful time at The Gables. The place is gorgeous and the room is spacious with a wonderful view of the fields in front. We were so well looked after and even after we stumbled in late from a great night at the Village Club, they were more than lovely! Great continental breakfast too! It's perfectly positioned to walk around Doveridge and is less than 10mins in the car to Uttoxeter. We would highly recommend this to everyone.

The Gables is a beautiful house in a lovely village. Sarah and her family were really welcoming and the room was large, clean and decorated to match the age and character of the house. I loved the shutters and the view of the Derbyshire hills whilst eating my breakfast. The roll top bath felt really luxurious and I liked the separate entrance especially as I had been out for dinner with friends in Derby after visiting the velodrome so came back late. I plan to come back and stay with my husband soon.

Howard and Kate were extremely welcoming giving us a tour around and tips on where to go for food that evening and tourist attractions the next day. The garden room is lovely with conservatory , kitchen dining area and a mezzanine bedroom level. Comfortable bed and fully stocked kitchen. Family friendly and nice and warm with underfloor heating. We were provided with breakfast foods and freshly baked cakes on arrival! great hosting and would definitely recommend and stay again.

Howard and Kate kindly accepted a last minute reservation from us and then went to stay up for a late arrival, in which we were greeted with a lovely evening snack and basically a full stocked fridge for the morning! I cannot express how perfect their service was and how welcome we felt! The accommodation itself was absolutely fantastic! We were so upset to have only stayed one night as it is a place you just don't want to leave! It is fully equipped with anything you could possibly need and is perfect for a few nights away where you have you own private bathroom, private kitchen, bedroom and living room all in a wonderfully spaced and cosy garden annex. Howard and Kate mentioned they were new to Airbnb. However, you would have thought they had been doing it for years. Their service was truly excellent and they have everything spot on. Exactly how it should be! We will 100% be coming back for a small holiday at some point in the future and cannot wait to return to such wonderful hosts and such an amazing accommodation.

They provide fresh produce for breakfast. The garden room is a very warm, cosy and comfortable little apartment, set in beautiful surroundings in the village of Doveridge, Derbyshire. Wake up to the sound of the rooster and the cows in the next field. You can walk to the local pub, village convenience store/post office and various local walks. Car is essential for exploring the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and Staffordshire etc. We would highly recommend staying here. A wonderful peaceful hideaway, with first class hosts.

The Garden Room was everything we could have hoped for and more for a relaxing new year getaway. Howard and Kate were brilliant hosts who helped us out in every way. They live in an amazing place which we can only wish for in our future. We were sad to leave the Garden Room but we will be back again. Thank you for hosting us. Our stay was absolutely delightful. Clean and comfortable suite with a range of breakfast foods provided. Beautiful, quiet area with local pub and shop in walking distance. Really short drive to Alton Towers which was the reason for our trip so was really convenient. Will definitely stay again if in the area again

We had a fantastic stay with Kieron and family. Even though we checked in later than originally scheduled, it was no hassle at all. The cottage was clean tidy and exactly as advertised, and very well provisioned. We found a great little place for breakfast the next day at our hosts recommendation. All in all the perfect place for our Alton Towers break!

We had a great stay at the Grange! Mary and Mick were very accomodating and made our stay very enjoyable! It was great of them to be so accomodating over Christmas. The place has a very cosy feel and we felt at home. Thanks guys!

We had a fantastic 3 night stay in this beautiful cottage. Location was perfect and all the additional details provided were very useful. Saskia showed us around on arrival and was very helpful. The cottage was warm and cosy and beautifully decorated and maintained. We have stayed in some air bnbs before with friends but none to this standard and would definitely return.

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. Saskia showed us around and explained how things worked. We have rented cottages on many previous occasions - this is the best we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and well equipped... oh and there was cake! We were initially worried that the photo suggested it might be on a busy road through the village. It isn't! we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of traffic noise - more horses than horsepower! The location is great for walking, for food, and for exploring some really stunning countryside. Just don't use your sat nav - unless you have a vehicle suitable for green laneing! 5 stars don't do our experience justice. we'd have rated it higher if possible. Thank you!

Saskia's beautiful cottage was one of the prettiest homes I've stayed in with Airbnb, everything was to a very high standard and we really appreciated all the little touches like fresh flowers, tea and coffee, bath robes, make up wipes in the bathroom, and some beautiful books to flick through. We did the whole trip without a car (so caught a taxi from Stoke-on-Trent) but was no issue as there were so many beautiful places to explore on foot. We actually really appreciated not having a tv! But anyway the WiFi is very good so you can always watch TV via that if you wanted to. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a little country break in a luxurious little cottage!

A lovely welcome, with plenty of advice about good places to eat, where to visit etc. This is a gorgeous part of the world that we will come back to. some lovely walks straight from the house, as well s being located in a lovely area.

My best AirBnB experience so far! Saskia thought of absolutely everything. I arrived to a stacked fireplace - ready to light, a tray set out for tea (including slice of strawberry cream cake), luxurious bathrooms hanging in the dressing room... and although I didn't bake I did notice the baking trays pre-wrapped in foil - amazing! The cottage is cute, cozy and warm. It's situated in the most gorgeous little english town. The wi-fi is fast and reliable. Everything was brand new and everything works.

What a fantastic cottage to spend a restful few days in! Saskia was very helpful and understanding, making my first Air BnB stay a real pleasure. The cottage is exactly as described and the little touches like a nice piece of cake on arrival are amazing. I couldn't rate this more highly.

Saskias cottage was just perfect. It was extremely well equipped, cleanliness was absolutely spotless, the bed and bed linen were the best I have ever slept in. Location was good for walking or taking a bike on the Monsal trail. There is a great farm shop selling all sorts of lovely fresh farm produce, meats and. Lovely cafe. Would highly recommend this lovely little cottage with a lovely friendly host.

3 generations stayed at Alton for a New Year celebration. We had the very best time and the house was just perfect for our lively family and well behaved dogs. The children loved all the toys and the grown ups loved the great pubs with very friendly locals. We would love to stay again

A conveniently located character house for local sights and a good size for large families. Gabbi kept in contact and booking was easy. Lots of info in the house about surrounding area.

We loved the quirkiness of the house and its great location. It worked really well for our family group. We were able to get out every day for pretty walks directly from the house. The kitchen was lovely and spacious and we were all able to get around the table there – which is important for us as our holidays revolve around good meals! We loved the brilliant 8 burner cooker with the two ovens. We loved the light & bright conservatory and the gorgeous little garden.

Gabrielle was very welcoming and communication was excellent. We loved quirky character of the house. Lots of toys for the kids and lots of rooms to play in. A great size house for family gathering. Area is very pretty with plenty of pubs to choose from. We only wish it was down south so we could visit more.

It was a beautiful house with reasonable comfort ... and communication with the landlady was OK.

Gabrielle was helpful throughout - keeping in touch by text and answering any questions we had. Booking was easy and the arrangements very straight forward. Gabbi has also provided a massive amount of information about the house and the local area, so finding a takeaway or a great pub is easy. The house is a fascinating building with stunning gothic features and the dining room chairs are spectacular. The rooms are all spacious and the shower easily coped with having 7 people getting up in the morning - quite a feat. It's a beautiful quiet village with easy access to parking, pubs and the castle. The Alton Bridge has great pub food and was very lively - even had a country-western night which was packed!

AMAZING! Fell in love with this house from the moment we got there. Didn't want leave. Nine of us stayed to celebrate a big birthday and it was perfect. Our dogs were welcome too. The location is close to everything you'd want. Good pubs, good food, convenient shops and idyllic country side walks. Gabrielle was a pleasure to communicate with. Answered all questions promptly, booking was simple, checking in hassle free and she kindly made herself available via phone for if we had any problems during our stay. Definitely one of my all time favourite air bnb stays. Will definitely stay again. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
