Our stay was great! Wayan took great care of us and the puppy is very cute. Only the scooter is a little bit old, but fine to cruise around in the little streets:) we loved the house and would recommand it!

Our overall experience was great. Wayan and his family are super welcoming and made our stay at Ali's place a must. We loved the nature around and the smiles on villagers'faces :-)

After 6 months of travelling arriving at the hideout was incredible. It's the most expensive place we've stayed in the last 6 months but also the best. It's a beautifully relaxing place with plenty of places to explore nearby if you can pull yourself away from the hammock and the river! Ali and jarmil were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was OK. They're wonderful hosts and I hope to be back one day!

Hideout is really beautiful - it looks exactly as it does in the pictures. The river is nice for morning swims and at nighttime you can see fireflies outside the window! There aren't a lot of places to eat within comfortable walking distance, but we had a lot of fun cooking here, especially with a bunch of the food provided for us. It's a beautifully tranquil place, surrounded by rice fields. Awesome as a honeymoon type place or writer/artist retreat. Unfortunately during our time here there was a problem with the water wheel, so we didn't have electricity/internet during our stay. The mechanic sent to fix it hurt himself and had to go to hospital. However, Alena was so helpful, offering to put us up in the nearby hotel and eventually refunding us in full. I totally recommend this place for anyone wanting to take some time to relax and explore!

We spent 2 nights at the eco bamboo home. The picture corresponds to reality. C is an original and very peaceful place in the heart of a very authentic bali that we enjoyed. Some observations, however: the mattress is uncomfortable, you feel all the springs, internet did not work, no light al one of two bedside tables, the dog and the little cat who live permanently in the house are rather intrusive and ascend sleep in the bedroom. We ordered massage (1 hour each) they lasted 30 minutes instead of an hour and were made by a very incompetent man far Balinese massages.

Hideout was amazing!! It was by far the highlight of our Bali trip. It's so great to still be able to get off the beaten track and experience what traditional Bali life in the village is all about. The bamboo house itself is incredible, as is the river and water wheel. Wayan was also a great host, very welcoming, kind and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy some time to rest and relax. It's AMAZING!!!

This place is amazing. Even better than the pictures. Here you will find peace and the real balinese lifestyle. Ali is a great host, and Wayan (who takes care of the place) is very kind and helpful. Be aware if you are going to eat with the locals, we got salmonella from the chicken. Also know that the ferry-prices to Gili / Lombok in the booklet at Hideout are twice the real price from Padang bay.

Thoughtfully designed, well-located and a perfect home away from home. Sara was communicative and even provided a beautifully illustrated little book of instructions and recommendations. Love this stay, and hope to come back one day!

The Joshua Tree house was very well appointed and decorated with an attention to detail. The bedding was extremely comfy and it had everything you needed for a relaxing weekend escape.

What a special place Sara and Rich have created. From the second you walk in, you are greeted with the warmth of a beautifully sunlit, open room with beautiful decor. The space was waiting for us to enjoy it. From the second we walked in, to the minute we left, the energy of their home had us feeling like our hearts were full. Everything was just as they listed, the house was very clean and everything you needed was provided and easily accessible. The national park was a 15 minute drive and some great spots to eat, and even yoga were maybe a two minute drive down the road. Overall, Joshua tree is a very special place and Sara and Rich have created a space where you can feel and experience that to the fullest. We thank you so much for sharing this and we plan on coming back as soon as possible.

We have rented the cob cottage as a surprise for my daughter an her family, Alexis was super esay to communicate before hand and really helpful. Alexis and family are helpful, easy to communicate with and really welcoming. We spend some time together learning about the island, very interesting. Fresh eggs, milk, homemade banana loaf and granola were awaiting us, delicious and the best attention. Beautiful toys for our little boy has been brought to the cottage as well. The cottage is a home away from home, a space wher you fell good instantly. Would definitely recommend it and come back !". There are many places on AirBnB but this one is different. Why? Because it awakens the inner child in you! The dream-like structure, the rounded shapes, cozy and safe feeling, intimate setting... Not to mention a friendly and helpful (but not obtrusive) hosts, equally friendly sheep strolling around and the beautiful island landscapes, hills and forests to explore. All of this contribute to a memorable stay. You want to come back!

Alexis & Manny's cob house is amazing! We were greeted by fresh eggs, milk, and banana bread. The cabin is so cozy, and having a fire inside as it cools down outside in a room full of cool old books and pillow-covered seats makes it even cozier. It's felt so quiet and secluded, yet centrally located on the island - and there's nothing like falling asleep to the sound of frogs, hanging out with friendly chickens, and sitting outside by the warm cob oven! Such an amazing getaway.

This place is magical and Alexis and Manny are terrifically courteous, helpful, and generous hosts. It was so much fun to have the goats and chickens visit--they are adorable but not omnipresent or annoying. We loved our stay and would definitely come here again. A peaceful and serene retreat with lots of privacy--basically Alexis and Manny were available when we needed them but otherwise we felt pleasantly alone. Definitely recommend.

100% stay here if you can find an available date! It's clean, cozy, and amazingly unique. It was everything we needed for a get away! So much care and love is in this place - you can't help but notice. Bring pizza dough and take advantage of the bread oven!

I highly recommend a visit to this unique home. The house is even more charming in person than the photographs illustrate. Mayne Island is beautiful and quiet. Alexis is a lovely and friendly host. She had left us a loaf of homemade banana bread as well as fresh eggs, butter, and milk. The bed and bedding was super cozy and comfortable. We spent our time there relaxing and exploring. A great getaway for those looking to experience nature, peace and quiet. The ferry was surprisingly expensive and infrequent but was also a fun ride and a chance to see all the mountains.

Unique is certainly the right word for this cottage. We are still dreaming of the frogs singing to us while we fell asleep, the cozy campfire, and the delicious eggs Alexis and Manny generously left for us in the morning. This was my first air bnb experience and I don't know how anything will top it. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. My boyfriend and I are grateful for this getaway and will cherish it in our memories

We were heartedly welcomed to the Cob by Alexis, met her twin boys and found a lovely banana loaf on the counter. We had a quiet and enjoyable few days relaxing, reading and exploring Mayne island.

Rachel's cabin is an absolutely perfect getaway! The only hard part is deciding whether to stay in and enjoy the wood-burning fireplace, record player, and book collection – or to head out and explore nearby redwood forests, ocean bluffs, and vineyards. Needless to say, a week wasn't nearly long enough and I'm looking forward to coming back :)

Had an incredible weekend at Rachel's cabin... The place looks just like it appears in the pictures, and the kitchen, bathroom, and fireplace are all easy to use. I would definitely recommend Rachel's place for anyone looking for a quiet weekend away.

Rachel's place was just as pictured. It was so lovely, amazing collection of records and the location was perfect. My favorite part were the mornings on the back patio, enjoying a cup of coffee looking out taking it all in. Perfect place for a relaxing refresh.

Pros: This place is pretty cute! We had a great time hanging out in front of the wood stove and listening to records. The host was kind and helpful. Lots of privacy, very fast internet, short drive to cute little town or the ocean. Very quiet, when it's not raining. :) Nice view. Cons: The bed is uncomfortable and there's no ergonomic place to sit with a laptop. The construction feels rough and unfinished, but that didn't bother us much. This place is not as polished as some AirBnBs are, but it's also not as expensive. If you're looking for a slightly rugged Cabin Experience you'll enjoy it. If you want a place to do laptop work, sleep a lot, and lounge comfortably in luxury, or want to stay for more than a few days, this isn't a good choice.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It was cute and quirky like the listing said, but it wasn't quite as endearing as I expected. Pros: - location - surrounded by redwoods, it is a beautiful setting. It is far enough from towns to make it feel secluded but close enough to get places easily. We enjoyed time on the river, ocean, hiking, biking, wine tasting, and eating good food! - host - she was good at communicating and responded very quickly when I emailed her with questions during our stay - unique place to stay - if you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this can be a fun place - for being a cabin, I was pleasantly surprised at the full-sized bathroom with a great supply of hot water - good price point :-) Cons: - this is a CABIN, not a house - just make sure you know that! If you are expecting to camp in a cabin, this feels like a great upgrade, but if you are expecting to stay in a typical house you will be disappointed. So most of the cons are related to this ... They may not be cons if you expect them! - there is no central heat, and very little if any insulation. Which means it's COLD!! Even in July. We didn't light a fire the first night, just used space heater in the loft, and we were freezing. We learned our lesson quickly! So you need to plan to light the fire every night, and keep stoking it. The cabin and all your clothes will smell like campfire. - the layout of the cabin is weird, not a typical living room to hang out, no entry table to out your things, no closets or hooks for coats, bags, etc. I think a coat rack and some hooks would be an easy solution. - we didn't really cook, so can't assess the kitchen, but make sure you know that the only fridge is OUTSIDE, not in the kitchen, and there is no freezer (we knew this, but didn't realize how annoying it would be to go outside every time we needed something from the fridge). - no screens on doors, so you can't really leave them open ... One afternoon is was colder inside than out and I would have liked to get some fresh air from the smokey smell. - there are no curtains on the windows ... I was a little concerned about privacy but the neighbors aren't very close and it's not a busy street. The issue was that in the morning the light comes right into the loft and wakes you early ... Learn from my mistake and bring an eye mask if you want to sleep past 6 :-) - finally ... Just when the place was starting to grow on me, we heard squeaking and spotted a mouse running in the living room. We hardly had the doors open at...

My husband and I loved our stay at Rachel's A-Frame cabin. Our stay at the cabin happened to coincide with the Perseid meteor shower. It was so enchanting stargazing from the deck. We also enjoyed cooking in the charming kitchen and listening to Rachel's awesome record collection. It was nice to have all the modern luxuries of a home and still feel like you're camping in the redwoods. The bed was super comfy. it was nice to be able to take a warm shower after a long day of hiking and sightseeing. I loved all the 1970's era trinkets that adorned the cabin. Best glamping experienced yet!

While browsing through magical cabins and treehouses and places across the PNW, I stumbled upon the Hobbit Hole. Kristie's attention to detail in the Inn was more than I could have ever expected. Pick up a copy of JRR Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and what you imagine is exactly what she built. From the freshly-painted round green door with the shiny door knob placed perfectly in the middle to the multitude of hobbit hooks to hang one's cloak and sword. The front yard a garden of flowers and trees tempting humming birds and robins with a hobbit bird house overlooking the hillside. The inside houses a very comfortable bed complete with a luxurious green velvet blanket perfect for snuggling with in front of the large rock fireplace. There's a woodworker's table for whittling and a wooden table for chess. The bathroom has a deep trough tub and a rain shower, as well as a driftwood sink. The soaps smell of juniper and are housed in wooden bottles. There are no TV's. No WiFi. No fridge. No microwave. But should you wish to listen to music while you read her hard-bound copy of 'The Hobbit' tucked into the nightstand drawer, there is a stump created to case your cell phone that will amplify the sounds as a natural speaker. And should you get hungry, fresh pastries and cookies wrapped in hand towels tied with rope, will surprise you upon your arrival and keep your belly warm. But should you really start exploring this little dwelling, you will find even more surprises. Maybe even a very popular ring... My pup, Cricket, and I spent our day exploring the hillside. I read the words of JRR Tolkien out loud to her as she lay in the cool grass next to a large citronella candle. I took a bubble bath and enjoyed a mud mask while sipping on a cup of fresh tea (provided by the Inn). We fell asleep to the sounds of the world around us, warmed by a perfectly insulated, solar powered home after the fire was put to rest. The sunset at the Inn was spectacular. However, the sunrise was something not to be missed. It lasted an hour. With not only the skies changing but the landscape changing while the light played off each hillside and the gorge below. I have never been so pleased to wake up at 4:45am. Our adventure to Middle Earth to visit the Shire was one I won't soon be forgetting. And my highest regards to Kristie for letting the world be her guest and experience such a magical place. After all, that's what any good Hobbit is required to do. Great little place, wish I could have stayed more than one night! It was very quiet (no city noise) the birds sang us glorious morning songs! We loved all the little touches especially in the bottom drawer!

We had an absolutely awesome stay at the Hobbit Hole. We saw several deer on our drive up, and when the Hobbit Hole came into view, it looked absolutely surreal. We parked and headed up. When we finally arrived on the little patch of green grass that led to the pebble path that led to the gate that led to the Hobbit Hole patio, we could see that this was going to be pretty magical. The Hobbit Hole is beautifully crafted, absolutely real, and perfectly equipped. --just what you need and nothing you don't. The temperature inside was nice and cool despite the heat. We brought our own water (having read the reviews), but the water provided was plenty for us for the one night we stayed. We brought lots of picnic type food in a cooler, which worked perfectly for the visit. We spent most of our time on the patio, reveling in the view with the Hobbit Hole door wide open. We enjoyed finding hidden LOTR treasures...and playing a little chess. The bed was comfortable and the Hobbit Hole stays dark, which was really nice. The Hobbit Hole coffee and tea was delicious and plentiful in the morning....and the scones were delicious. This place is a (URL HIDDEN) if you are in the area, don't hesitate to stay. Or go way out of your way just to stay there! We did. And it was an absolute pleasure. I love that this place even (URL HIDDEN) renews my faith in humanity.

We had a lovely stay at The Hobbit Inn that included wood whidling, sage collecting, bird watching, trough tubbing, and view admiring. We felt instantly at home and as our visit progressed, we didn't want it to end. The round door was a portal into Bilbo Baggin's world and we were delightfully transported. The woodwork and details sparked our imagination and curiosity of the building process, and now we have many questions!! The bed was comfortable and the snacks were beautifully wrapped. We enjoyed visioning a hobbit community with a kitchen to share, and we got creative with the food items we brought so we didn't have to leave. The birdhouse was full of babies and chirps and made our morning full of music. Thank you for the magic and sweet memories and deep seeded inspiration. We look forward to seeing more as time goes on!

This was a really cool experience. It was exactly as expected. Beautiful location. We recommend backpacks only for the walk up due to steepness and it being muddy due to winter but totally worth the climb.

The Hobbit Inn is a magical experience! Every square inch of the hobbit hole is uniquely crafted and thought out. The fire kept us warm and toasty despite temps of 7-15 degrees outside. We enjoyed the provided reading materials and games. There is a chess table and "question cards" to keep you entertained. We loved being off the grid - we did not have cell phone service or a television! It's nice to check out sometimes. We used our winter getaway to try out our new snowshoes and sleds. The area is simply breathtaking! We would highly reccommend a stay here! Our only negative was frozen pipes (which we were told about in advance- and received a discount as we elected not to re book for a different date). The toilet was not usable despite following the recommended advice for pouring water in the bowl to "flush it"! We were not provided enough water (or information) for the bathroom situation. With that being said - go stay here and get lost in the magical world of the hobbit inn! You won't regret it!

the house was perfect, beautiful, great, amazing, just what we needed. it was quiet, relatively easy to get to (even in our tiny chevy spark - though a larger car in case of rain would be good) and the stars that came out at night were plentiful. the pantry was well packed (we picked up some black pepper at the joshua tree natural food store for the empty grinder :)), library had interesting books and an awesome escher jigsaw puzzle that we weren't able to complete by checkout, so we'll have to come back and solve it once and for all! having all the windows open allowed for cooling breezes even when the temp reached over 100F was wonderful. there was a second bedroom that i didn't even existed, the amenities were top notch, and the home was clean. minor detail: ants somehow found their way into the bathroom the first night but for the most part left us alone all other nights. linda emailed me all the tips to the house prior to the trip, and we found no reason to contact her during our stay. no cell phone reception was really nice, which might have posed a problem had we needed help which we luckily didn't. my partner and i loved the space and will totally make it back for some restorative quiet time again.

Driving up to this home, it appears like a mirage; an oasis in the desert; a diamond in the rough; a jewel box set atop boulders and sandstone. This house—and this house alone—is reason enough to love Airbnb. It is set so perfectly in an untraveled part of the word—just northwest of Joshua Tree National Park—where no hotel, guidebook, or tour bus would take you, though it is a place not to be missed. Impeccably designed and reminiscent of a modern Philip Johnson's Glass House, the all glass walls bring the beauty of the minimal desert landscape inside with every glance: making coffee in the kitchen and view the sun dapple the landscape with its golden glow, lounge on the couch and watch cactus finches rest atop Joshua trees, dine at the table and see the sun set behind the western ridge, take a soak in the bathtub and gaze at meandering steps carved into a boulder, watch hawks dive, listen to the rise and fall of cicadas, watch long eared jack-rabbits scatter and dart through the bushes. This home is a haven. This place is magic. In the mornings we were visited silently by a pair of coyotes meandering off in the distance as they prepared to tuck in for bed. My husband and I felt lucky to be here. Gratitude stayed with us on our stay here. Oh and the temperature, even in July, was wonderful: while hot, the house is designed in such a way that there was a constant cool breeze throughout, and it was never muggy. We hope, very much, to come back one day.

Everything about the space and its surroundings is perfect. Only a few cars drove past the house in the 48 hours that we were there. We were able to see the stars, the desert sunrises and sunsets, etc. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything worked perfectly. Linda was very helpful and attentive to our myriad of questions.

The iT house was amazing. Definitely has me thinking about where and how I want to live the rest of my life. Linda was very prompt with replies and provided every piece of info via the (very cute) hand drawn map and manual. Really could not recommend it enough.

The treehouse, and overall experience, was wonderful! Very relaxing and enjoyable. I brought my dog and he loved running around the grounds. Elena and the rest of the people were all so friendly and accommodating! I would highly recommend this listing and definitely want to go back!

enchanted place surrounded by olive trees. Council to reach by car because being a little out of the center of Florence would otherwise be complicated. Elena was very kind and helpful from the first contact. the house on the tree is a piece of paradise. Spaces are best exploited ece everything you need. Breakfast plentiful and tasty. despite being part of a complex where there are other houses you have your own privacy and intimacy.

Elena was a great host. Nice and together. The property was beautiful and we'll kept. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still not too far away Florence.

Perfect for a weekend break to escape the city. The property itself is stunning with fantastic views of the country side. The mills has been refurbished to the highest standard and has everything you need. The village is lovely and worth a visit if you do stay, great pub food! Claire is a great host and I look forward to staying again in the future.

Clare is a wonderful host. I had high expectations based on the reviews on this site and they were all met and exceeded. The property itself was clearly restored with much care and love and my partner and I really enjoyed learning more about the history of the building. We spent 2 nights there although clearly not enough and we intend to return before long.

We loved our stay at the Old Smock Windmill! What a magical experience - the windmill itself was beautiful, the interior thoughtfully designed. It had everything we needed for a short break to relax and forget about normal life! Clare was fantastic, there was lots of information available about the local area, though we spent most of our time in the windmill as it was so lovely! Thanks so much for having us :)

The treehouse was gorgeous! With wildlife and flowers abound, we could not have asked for a more beautiful stay. The frogs at night provide a sort of lullaby that really added to the jungle experience. There are no details missed in the decor of the treehouse. It was two nights that we will not forget.

Kristie's tropical tree house was beyond phenomenal and truly served as the highlight during our first visit to the Big Island. My partner fell ill coming in and I messaged Kristie to see if we could bump up the check in time, by a long shot - Kristie was so lovely and accommodating and made arrangements with the cleaning staff so we could check in early. The decor was charming and the place was immaculate. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This was a really awesome experience and pretty much exactly what my wife and I were hoping for. She has always dreamed of living in a treehouse, so that's why we chose to stay here for a couple nights during our honeymoon on the Big Island. It's a special feeling to be in that secluded part of the jungle. To be honest, I thought it would feel maybe slightly more secluded, as you could still hear some traffic in the distance and the treehouse is at the end of a road with several other houses. But it still feels quite secluded and special. The houses are far enough apart with plenty of jungle in between so that you can't see anyone else from the location, and we didn't hear anyone else, save all the critters in the jungle and the faint traffic in the distance as I mentioned above. It feels pretty adventurous (in a good way!) climbing up the ladder and pushing up open the heavy door to get up into the treehouse. Once we were up there we were surprised by how amazingly taken care of we were! The house is really clean and interesting and well maintained, with lots of little goodies lying around that are fun to explore. We were sooo hungry when we got there and were really grateful that Kristie left us roasted macademia nuts, 2 brownies and a plentiful supply of bottled water! The house is totally off grid, so if you've been interested in that but never had the chance to experience, it's really fun to explore a house that operates that way and all the appliances. If you rent a car (as you very likely should if you're visiting the Big Island - we did and we almost always void being in cars if you can), then the location is a good jumping off point for getting to Volcanoes National Park and exploring Hilo and the whole east side of the island. Note that the road that the house is on is pretty rough so we were happy we had an SUV rather than a regular car. This is true with many parts of the big island. We really enjoyed our stay at this treehouse. Kristie and her people at Guesty were very hospitable and wrote us very nice, clear messages. Staying here was a very positive and memorable part of our honeymoon trip.

Loved our stay in the dreamy tropical tree house! Kristie's travel guide was so helpful and helped us feel like real local explorers. Tree house was very cozy and the perfect honeymoon spot for us! Definitely hit up the snorkel spot she suggests (bring water shoes) it was incredible!

This treehouse was a dream for getting away for awhile. It was a romantic escape and the child in you will be giddy to be living amongst the trees. It was super close to Volcano National Park, in which we spent a bunch of time, and also not too far from decent food options as well. My only complaint is that our stay wasn't long enough, and we didn't use that swing nearly enough!! (completely our fault). There were bottles of water and snacks for us to enjoy, and Kristie emphasizes green practices which I love supporting all the ways we can be more friendly to our earth. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space for people to enjoy on their Hawaiian vacation. Amazing. Would do it again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone I know going to the island.

You will not regret your stay in this tree house. It's tucked away among the trees in Fern Forest far from everyone else. It's just you and the frogs! Beautifully decorated to create a dreamy and romantic experience. This isn't your average airbnb it's an experience.
