The Barbican means different things to different people. It's the old historical area where the Mayflower set sail all those years ago. Today it's a bustling area of Plymouth that is great for eating, drinking, wandering, admiring the lovely yachts or enjoying breakfast or just having a coffee. Further round, you can walk to the waterfront or sit on the Hoe. The Barbican ticks all the boxes and is open all year long. Children love it too as the National Marine Aquarium is in the centre.

Another gorgeous fishing village and harbour. A huge car park at the top, a gentle walk down a slight hill into the village. A great place to wander.

Seaton is a lovely level flat beach that is great for families since children love playing in the river adjacent to the shoreline. There is a great cafe on the beach and a good place to go rock pooling.

Portwrinkle is another lovely beach in south east Cornwall. It has a slight slope to access with a couple of steps. Sandy beach, great for surfing when the wind is right, perfect for rock pooling. Lovely cafe overlooking the beach. Wonderful views of Whitsand Bay.
