Day out

Beaches within the Cape Conran Coastal Park. There is the Surf Beach on the East Cape, at Cape Conran, and the on the West Cape side there is Salmon Rocks and Boat Ramp. The waters on the west side beaches can be more exposed and some times more rough. Long walks on either side of the Cape are just beautiful. Go a little further, past Cape Conran, and you will come to the Yeerung River Inlet. You may wish to take a packed Lunch. A beautiful walk down to the ocean with views of the Inlet. Get your self some exercise ! There are some hills on the walk. When down at the beach, you can walk all the way from the Yeerung back to Cape Conran along the Beach. Yes , you can..... its a big walk ! aprox. 3+ kilometers with sand all the way. Surfing Ocean Surf Fishing Abalone to dive for Beaches Boat Ramp River Fishing at the Yeerung River Inlet

From BRUTHEN take the C620 , 20 minute drive to BUCHAN, just past the town centre of Buchan lies the is the gateway to the Buchan Caves Reserve. At The BUCHAN CAVES RESERVE, you can take a guided tour through the Natural Caves, bushwalking, camping, wildlife spotting, or a dip in the Natural Spring Pool on a Hot Day. The Pool is fed from the Natural Underground Stream which provides it with the purest water imaginable. INSIDE the Caves you will tour through the ancient caverns with Stalactites and Stalagmites, and calcite rimmed pools. The Caves are floodlit to observe its amazing beauty, take a torch if you have young ones (incase you would like some extra lighting) wear sensible shoes, I found it can be a little damp underfoot. The Buchan Caves are truly an amazing natural wonder. Cook a BBQ in the Park. The Kangaroos often come close to see what you are up to and a sneaky Kookaburra have been known to swoop and steal a sausage from your plate if your backs are turned !!! :) HAVE YOUR CAMERAS READY. !!!
