A Brooklyn institution that moved from Prospect Heights to our neighborhood several years ago. Great live programming throughout the week including live music, open mic, and even karaoke in the back room. Fun video art as well.

An absolutely lovely neighborhood community garden. Anyone can enter if a member opens it. Thought there is no schedule, you can count on it being open on weekends with beautiful weather.

A smaller version, and by the same designer as Central Park, Prospect Park is a must-visit for Brooklyn visitors. Stroll through on a sunny day, and go sledding if there's snow. Gorgeous retreat.

An amazing historical cemetery. Make sure to take a long stroll and allow yourself to get lost in the winding streets. It has the highest point in Brooklyn from which you can see an amazing view of the New York Harbor. General admission is free and they offer tours and various events for a fee.

A fantastic family-run local pharmacy. The pharmacist Danny, is very nice and knowledgeable. He carries kids' toys and greeting cards. He is also a point of sale for Metro Cards and UPS return drop-offs!

A wonderful playspace if you are traveling with kids age 6 and under. Very clean, and with a fairly robust eat-and-drink menu (the smoothies are particularly good.)
