Tawhiti Museum is a bit of a drive out to Normanby - just before Hawera, but worth it. Amazing history of Taranaki comes alive with Nigel Ogle's stunning life sized unique exhibits. Displays are realistic, engaging with stunning attention to detail. This private museum has grown over the years including a train ride (Tawhiti Bush Railway) and the new boat ride at Traders and Walers where you take a voyage and float back in time to 1820's.
