Getting Around

Easy access from SeaTac airport to the UW (and many things in-between) makes Beacon Hill a perfect hub for exploring the city. Stop off in Columbia City to enjoy more restaurants and PCC (our local farmers/community grocery store)

Sightseeing

The Market has always felt like the heartbeat of the city to me, and can be enjoyable in all kinds of weather. Wander the lower levels. Stop into Chin Music Press, a small publisher specializing in high-quality editions, and other unique finds. If you have kids and/or like magic, be sure to stop into the Market Magic Shop and ask the magicians if they might perform a trick or two : )

Touristy? Yes. But still a fun trip with spectacular views! To turn it into a longer adventure, leave the car at home and take light rail to Westlake Station. From there you can catch Seattle's historic Monorail to Seattle Center.

This under-freeway sculpture makes a great backdrop for that souvenir photo. After, head down to Gasworks Park for a nice view of city or place to picnic.

My favorite view of the city with lots to do. Play on the beach, enjoy fish-n-chips, ice cream, or other yummy stops along the main strip. Alki always feels like a 'getaway' to me, though it is just a bridge away!
