St Nikola Island is the largest in the southern part of the Adriatic sea. Its length is 2 km. and its geographical position closes Budva Bay. Between island and Budva there is shoal. St Nikola's Island or as the locals call Školj is covered with lush Mediterranean vegetation, mainly coniferous trees. On the island there is a church of Sv. Nicholas after which the island got its name, which was first mentioned in the 16th century. Island of St Nikola is the greatest excursion attraction of Budva. The shores of the island descend vertically into the sea, and between the many hidden coves - a challenge for adventurers and romantics. On the island there are three sandy beaches of total length 840m. During the season you can get there by boats which go there daily from Budva. But the most beautiful beaches located on the south side can be reached only by boat. The island is overgrown with various Mediterranean plants as beaches attractively "wild". During summer season, you can reach island from Rafailovici every day (price is 15 euros, up till 5 persons)
