Food Scene

Egyptian-run pizzeria - excellent Italian food, very convenient prices, also, yummy kebabs. Friendly service, eat-in or take-away, with WIFI. I look forward to it every time I'm in Pigneto.

Parks & Nature

Lovely, dotted with ancient ruins, Colle Oppio sits right on top of Nero's Domus Aurea. It offers a stunning view of the Colosseum, especially from the quaint little kiosk with table service run by my friends Nunzia and Mustafa. ps the service ain't cheap !!! But then, you are in front of the Colosseum... Also, you could say the kiosk is not so touristy, mainly Italians, as it's quite tucked away.

Easy to get to from Termini station (but also from other stations such as San Pietro, Trastevere, Ostiense, Tuscolana), 50 min train ride from Termini (less from other stations), 15 min walk to fully equipped and affordable beach resorts, a good alternative to Ostia.
