This truly is a unique piece of nature reserve, worth exploring, especially when the Muttonbirds are nesting. To protect the birds, you are restricted to walk on the timber path only, so the birds may be hard to spot, but you certainly will smell them. It is a bit of a demanding climb initially, but the 360° view from the top makes it all worthwhile. PS on Sunday morning there is an interesting market just outside the harbour precinct.

The ever-popular Diggers Beach is perfectly located for tourists – right across the road from Coffs Harbour’s Big Banana. Wide and sheltered, Diggers makes for a lovely wind-free beach walk. It’s not only visitors who love this beach either; it’s a favourite among locals for surfing, fishing and swimming. There’s plenty to do if you’d rather stay dry; take a seat at the elevated pavilion to admire the view and look at the birds, or you can walk the short pathway to Macauley's Headland. When you’ve had enough of the surf, take a break from the beach in the neighbouring Diggers Beach picnic area. Featuring a children’s playground and plenty of space to run around, it’s ideal for a family barbecue.

Coffs Harbour's main surf beach is patrolled daily during most of the summer as Park Beach is the home for the Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club. Park Beach is a popular area for water sports, fishermen, and surfers. Swimmers should be aware Park Beach can be prone to strong rips particularly at the creek mouth. Park Beach is within close proximity to camping facilities, hotel and motel accommodation, cafes, restaurants, and the local shopping facilities. Adjacent to the beach car park is Park Beach Reserve, which is on the banks of Coffs Creek. The reserve is a popular family area for both visitors and locals. Park Beach Reserve boasts many facilities such as barbecues, picnic tables, children's play areas, shady trees, and toilets. Whilst dogs are not permitted on the patrolled beach, they are able to have some off leash time on South Park Beach, that is south of Coffs Creek inlet.

Welcome to the Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operative, located at the very heart of the harbour at the end of the jetty. This is the perfect meeting place between local fishermen and fresh seafood lovers. The Co-operative has been operating on the foreshores of Coffs Harbour since the early 1950s and is owned by about 50 local fishermen. They supply us with fresh seafood almost every day, which you can buy straight off their boats through our retail store and takeaway. Our retail store sells all our locally caught fish, including our famous and award winning snapper, plus whiting, flathead, pearl perch, kingfish, tuna (perfect for sashimi), mackerel, swordfish, mahi mahi, marlin, and other local species. We also catch delicious prawns, lobsters, Balmain Bugs and crabs. In addition to locally caught produce we stock the standard staples you’d expect to see so that we can always provide you a full range of delicious fresh fish and seafood in Coffs Harbour.
