Great Italian restaurant, great traditional Italian food, in the same street as the apartment, on the corner with a view on the river Amstel
Restaurant named after the French town where Vincent van Gogh lived and painted. Traditional French cuisine with ingredients from Albert Cuyp-market, makes it a special combination between the best of France and Amsterdam. The street is quiet and very close to the apartment.

A little bit more expensive restaurant, but the food here is always very good, and there is a lot of space inside, which makes it a popular place for groups, but ofcourse not only for groups; this restaurant is a little bit more exclusive then the surrounding restaurants

Bezienswaardigheden

Skinny Bridge/Magere Brug is actually not the skinniest, but probably the most famous and quite certainly the most beautiful and iconic bridge of Amsterdam's over 1500 bridges. And it is not so far from the apartment; around 10 minutes walking at the riverside. Nice to go for a 20-40 minute walk, especially at night time

Buurten

Museumplein/Museumsquare is the largest square (with grass on it, very nice, especially in the spring/summer) and extremely popular because of three of the most famous and most popular museums of Amsterdam: Rijksmuseum (Dutch National Museum), Van Gogh Museum, and Stedelijk (Modern Art). Also the beautiful and well-respected Concertgebouw (Concert Hall) is here, aswell as many embassies and consulates. In the winter it is possible to ice-skate in front of the Rijksmuseum, in the spring/summer it is a great place to picknick in the grass! This makes it a popular spot for any visitor of Amsterdam. From the apartment you can reach it very easily and quickly, just take tram 3, it's only 4 stops away. Walking by 30 minutes, biking by 10

City advice

Getting around

Metro 52 (Station De Pijp)

The new (1 year) metro line 52 is the fastest way to travel longer distances, like all the way to Amsterdam-Noord (North), or Zuid (South), but also to bring you in the centre. De stop DE PIJP is the closest one to the apartment, only 5-10 minutes walking. From there it is only 5 minutes by metro to one of the two largest train stations (Amsterdam Central Station, and Amsterdam Zuid (South).)
Getting around

Buy a GVB-tickets for public transport

There are several options, like a day pass, but also a 72hour pass or a weekpass. You need to have a GVB-pass for trams, metro's and the buses, so my guess would be to better get one :)
