Locally acclaimed and deliciously fresh upscale Mediterranean fare. The lamb ragu on tahini is to die for and you can't leave without some of their soft serve ice cream. Be sure to make reservations if dinning in or get it to go. You can't mention Beacon Hill without someone asking if you've been to Homer.

Another Beacon Hill staple. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Reservations required unless you can snag a spot at the bar. Order the kare kare short ribs and the joy fried chicken. If I were given one last meal on earth this would be it.

Sightseeing

One of Seattle's most famous sites! If you've ever watched a Seahawks game, you've seen Pike Place's famous fish throwing routine. Here you can get fresh flowers, delicious local fruit, see the original Starbucks, eat piroshkis, and enjoy views of the Puget Sound. I recommend going on a week day where the crowds will be smaller. Don't forget to stop at the Athenian Bar inside the market to eat seafood with a view, grab drinks and see the famed Sleepless in Seattle table.

Seattle's most beautiful park! Start off at the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park and be sure to walk all the way down for unbeatable mountain and waterfront views, complete with glimpses of downtown Seattle. With tons of grassy spots under beautiful ancient trees, this is my favorite place in Seattle to sit down and enjoy a picnic. Pro tip: if you're up for a little walk (~1 mile each way), take the light rail from the Beacon Hill station heading north, get off at the Westlake station, stop at Pike Place Market and pick up a bottle of wine and some cheese at DeLaurenti and take a stroll to the park for a sunset picnic. The park is dog friendly and really just can't be beat.

Food scene

Views of Seattle's skyline from across the water that just can't be beat! If you're in town for the weekend, brunch at Salty's on Alki is a must do and worth the drive over to West Seattle (or for an extra fun trip, take the water taxi). This is a little bit more of an upscale place (dress is still casual). I recommend the bloody Mary's and the croque madame.

Adults only. Unapologetic fine dinning with the best whiskey selection in Seattle. Huge portions, incredible service and some of the best food I've had in Seattle. Tommy, the owner has a vast knowledge of whiskey and does custom whiskey flights for those that ask, which is a must have experience for any whiskey lover. Order the muscles and clams, cauliflower and the carrots and make sure to Uber, as the drinks are too good and tempting to limit yourself.

Hiking

Annette Lake is a relatively easy dog friendly hike, great for families and groups. At the end of the trail is a beautiful alpine lake and many spots to stop and eat lunch before starting the journey back.

One of my favorite local hikes. Moderate difficulty with multiple payoffs throughout the hike (rivers, waterfalls, beautiful lookouts, a place to cool off under a fresh waterfall, and a lake at the top). Unless your kids are experienced hikers, I would recommend this one for adults only. If you do have kids, the Denny Creek slippery slabs at the start of the trailhead can be a fun swim spot. This hike is dog friendly.
