Sightseeing

Walk, run or bike “The 606” — a 2.7-mile elevated rail trail running east–west from Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood to Logan Square. In 2015, the city converted a former train line into an elevated greenway, which forms the backbone of the linear park and trail network called The 606. It’s a great way to explore the area from above and get some exercise. To get to the closest entrance, walk south down Spaulding Ave, past Armitage — the entrance ramp will be on your right immediately after you pass under the 606 Trail bridge (make sure to check out Dayglow for coffee or Ørkenoy for food/drinks if you're hungry before/after the trail — both are located just past the Spaulding trail entrance on Bloomingdale). The Spaulding entrance sits on the more western end of the trail, so head east (take a right when you get to the top of the ramp) if you're up for a longer walk (goes to Wicker Park/Bucktown).
