Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve
Fun place to go visit all 4 seasons of the year, in the spring and early summer it features a neat creek! Hiking horseback riding etc
Millions of acres to hike and explore including parts of the Colorado trail and Continental divide trail. tons of places to fish such as. Big meadows, rio grande river, tucker ponds, road canyon, Blanca wetlands in late summer and fall. Tons of hiking. Wheeler national geologic site is a great neat place if you want a long hike or have a 4wd!! Crater lake from Elwood pass is about 4 miles in and 4 miles out. Mostly downhill on the way in though. In the winter months stone quarry and penitente offer hiking on miles and miles of mountain biking trails! During the summer months they are heavily trafficked by mountain bikers!!
