It's a sushi restaurant that looks a little odd when entering. But the Sushi is the best in town and available for reasonable prices. The Ramen are very tasty but I usually indulge in sushi when I am there

Pelikan is one of Bamberg's original hotspots. Its history is long and walking into it one might expect to be in a traditional German Bar. But there is Asian food being prepared every night and it tastes pretty good too. At night it is a good spot to hang out and enjoy a few cold ones

Especially during the summer this location is mindblowingly beautiful. It is right next to the Regnitz and opens its beergarden when the temperatures are right. The river and the opposing shoreline with massive oak trees creates a great atmosphere and can be the starting or ending point when exploring the Hain Park.

Sightseeing

One of the most iconic facades in Bamberg is composed of couples of houses along the left Regnitzarm. Some of the houses used to be occupied by local fisher families and offer a romantic scenery on your way towards the old city center and the famous town hall built into the river

The buildings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Town of Bamberg". As of 2016 and for the foreseeable future, the church is closed for repairs. Due to its exposed location on top of the hill, the former abbey buildings are visible from many places in Bamberg. The structures enhance the impact on the viewer by their bulk. The Wirtschaftsgebäude and living quarters built during the Baroque period from massive sandstone surround the substantial two-spired church. In turn they are enveloped by the terrace gardens which surround the abbey on three sides. The palace-like three-storied main wing faces north, towards the Main

Parks & Nature

Erba Park is the area in which the "Landesgartenschau" took place a few years ago. It is a quiet park with playgrounds, hills, gardens and sport facilities. The habitants of Bamberg meet and relax on warm summer days to BBQ or to go fishing along the shore of the canal or the Regnitz. It is a great place to go jogging or go for a snack. The IT/business faculty is also located on the Erba Island and you can grab a coffee there or go to one of the Greek/Turkish restaurants located next to the university buildings.

Its a well maintained park next to the cathedral and the state library. Its definitely worth a visit during the summer. The views offer an interesting perspective on the funky architecture of the old houses which seem to have been constructed in the oddest shapes possible. The scent of the flowers and the view of the St. Michaels Abbey provide a great feel for the town.
