5 miles inland. A ski resort until the 1970s and is now a nature conservancy. On a clear day, see all the local villages from this vantage point, the Atlantic Ocean and as far as New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Either park at the bottom and hike up, or drive to the top to park and take in the fews. This is a little known spot and not usually busy.

American's oldest continually running movie theater, in operation since the 1920's. They provide a mix (in rotation, they have one showing of one movie each day at 8pm) of current box office hits, independent films, film festivals, live comedy performances and more. The theater also has a bar and serves beer and wine. On rainy days, they will add a 2pm matinee, usually a classic film like Jaws, The Wixard of Oz, etc. The best part is, this place is just two buildings away.

Shopping

There are many very interesting shops in town, but this one is tops in my book (and most everyone else). As the name implies, the have many things you will want, but nothing you will need. Interesting products in all price points. About a 3 minute walk away.
