“Rob and Sanne’s place is a wonderfully cosy little slice of garden paradise. Casa Malú is one of two chalets in their garden. It has its own private terrace, as well as use of shared patios and the pool area (we did dip in the pool although it was a bit chilly - it is December after all!). The garden is simply wonderful - full of lovely plants, birds and lizards. We got to watch the sun set over the ocean every evening. The chalet itself is small but well equipped. It was perfect for two of us. As you would expect, it’s relatively basic (because it’s a chalet!) but Rob and Sanne had done a great job at making the most of the small space and we had everything we needed. Rob also gave us some great tips and we found some little gems. Here were our favourites: - The boat trip from Puerto de Tazacorte on “Fancy II” is fantastic (we try to avoid ‘touristy things’ but this was great!) - The walk from Las Tricias to Baraca and back in the northwest of the island is simply wonderful. The Cafe Finca Aloe Vera at the turnaround point makes it worth it alone, never mind the amazing views! - Kiosco Cocomar in La Bombilla is a wonderful place to have dinner as the sun sets. Book ahead. - La Palmerita in La Laguna, just down the road, is fantastic for breakfast or lunch. - There is a great little tea shop in Tazacorte. Try their iced mint tea as a break from the lovely sun!”
New comfortable studio chalet with great ocean and volcano views surrounded by a beautiful subtropical garden. Centrally situated on the hikers paradise la Palma. The cosy chalet offers a king size bed with ocean view, and an extra sofa bed for and adult or 2 children.
“The place we checked in was beautiful, clean and contained everything we needed. We had a view of the mountains and the ocean at the same time. The bedroom and terrace overlooking the sunset were conducive to romantic evenings. The garden was beautifully designed, we felt like in a little paradise. Our privacy has never been violated. We spent a week on the island, traveled 900 kilometers by car and I can safely say that it's hard to find a better location. It is the center of the island, making it close to every attraction. Shops are very close. The owners are amazing in every way, helpful and cheerful. I can certainly recommend this place, I visited half the world, but this place will be deeply remembered and I will definitely come back again. Thank you for everything Rob and San!”
“You won’t regret staying at White Heaven, but you may regret having to leave. It’s a cosy studio apartment, spotlessly clean, with an excellent array of equipment in the kitchen, and lots of extras such as pool towels, dressing gowns etc. Best of all, you can see the sea from your bed, and enjoy wonderful sunsets sitting outside in a variety of seating areas and terraces around the lovely pool. I think the pool is heated only by power of the sun, but nevertheless we did swim - in February! Inside there are lots of maps and books, a very eclectic collection of CDs and DVDs, and a small TV - although this does only show Spanish channels. We never watched it. Best of all you will find Delia the perfect host - so helpful and charming, but not intrusive in any way. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, (and Delia will tell about a lot more) but you do need a car to get around. The nearest town, Tazacorte, a couple of miles away, is attractive and has all the amenities. This side of the island gets all the sunshine, even when Santa Cruz is covered in cloud, and the landscape is very dramatic. We loved it and would definitely go again.”
